It makes the most sense to me ( I know that sounds weird, but other software is just down right confusing). It is organized in a way that makes it easy to find everything. Another plus is all the short cuts! I just wish we had a cheat code book for the short cuts. Schedules are easy to set and read. Overall view and organization is easy to review records. Cons Overall, Avimark is pretty great. However, sometimes it crashes. And when is crashes, it is nothing small. But, it does all get fixed; and usually quickly. Review Source JH June H. Pros Avimark is very user friendly. Easy to learn and and adjust to. Good costumer support. Cons I wish I had more training on using the software. I am discovering different ways to use still.,after years of having avimark on board. I am sure that I am still doing some things the hard way. LVT, Practice Manager Veterinary Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Long Time Avimark User" June 8, 2020 5.0 Avimark has performed adequately for our practice but at this point, we are looking for a program that better supports our need for a hospital census to improve patient flow and care, as well as simplified paperless charting. Pros We installed this program in 2009. The primary use of the program initially was for the calendar and for client invoicing. These parts of the program adequately offered what we needed at that time. Cons As our practice has evolved over the years, we struggled with information search, the inventory portion, paperless records, hospital and boarding treatments, and the whiteboard. Pros Ease of use, long standing in veterinary industry Cons Since on windows platform many issues arrise with windows updates and avi support does not know how to fix. Need to get to techs above general support to resolve issues and this can be a challenge. Its nice to see the initials of who puts in everything into history. Cons The look overall is very dated and drab. I wish there was a home screen instead of always having a patient's history open. I would prefer more options for scheduling, such as set time allotments for specific types of appointments - for example if an appt is selected as a surgery type it would automatically set it to 60 min (but can be adjusted too). The whiteboard is not user friendly and many appointments do not leave the whiteboard after being invoiced and posted out. When I came to this hospital and learned Avimark, it was very easy to pick up. Overall, quite user friendly and navigation is "intuitive" as I call it. Does seem a little glitchy, and restoring backups, etc. can take quite some time... especially if you have a lot of attachments. Pros Easy to use, very "intuitive", can navigate easily with mouse or keyboard shortcuts Cons Glitchy. Will often get errors that seem related to spellcheck files and what not. Is also VERY particular with printer setup... if there is something off there, the whole software can act up. Review Source DD David D. Pros When I first started using AVImark I had never encountered the software before. It was super user friendly and did not take long to get the hang of it. Cons I can't say that there was anything I disliked. The ease of use was huge, it perhaps seems daunting, but mastery of its use was swift. Pros It does not take too long to learn. It is a pretty good software. We do not even come close to using all the functions of Avimark. Cons In some places you hit return and it kicks you out of what you are doing. You should be able to buy a user's manual or a help manual. This would be really helpful for reports, how to run the report and what is detailed in the report. It has been a great program for our clinic, but there are some things we do not like as well. Cons It is not web based so trying to integrate Ipads and Iphones is not possible. We have to go through about extra steps when making an appointment because it is not web based our doctor can't just log in to see his appointments. He is mostly mobile so it is a huge problem. We do have a sidekick but is useless to update appointments and changes to schedule when he is in the field. We are now making appointments in avimark then have to also put appointment on a online calendar, very inconvenient. I really hope that they do an update of some kind to be able to offer a web based software. Review Source MB Megan B. Overall, we are satisfied with the product. Pros Does allow integrations with other technology. Most functions are straight forward and easy to work with/change. Cons Some changes that need to be made within the software are complicated and not very straight forward, but the customer support line is very helpful for assistance. I like the ability to view the patient's record easily, I can narrow the record down into specific catergories (ie. RXs, Labs, Diet, Vaccines, etc). The attachment feature is also one of the things I really like about Avimark. Cons I used Impromed prior to Avimark and prefer the reporting, estimate creating (don't like how estimates use a variance vs. +/-, high or low end feature, don't like how estimates look once printed, difficult to "see" the variances) , adding inventory/service to system. Pros It is easy to teach my staff how to use the software even if they do not have much computer experience. Cons Updates for the software are cumbersome. The reason I use an older version and stopped updating is because the ability to back up the software from a workstation onto a thumbdrive was eliminated in favor of having to pay for Avimark's Data Vault service for backups. December 3, 2020 4.0 I love running reports in order to analyze data to help with business decisions effecting the practice. Pros I like that you are able to run reports and export to MS Excel. Cons I would love if you were able to email attachments directly from Avimark to clients or third party providers to help with efficiency and help with continuity of care for each patient.
