### "Use this if want your Therapists to spend 90% of their time documenting and 10% of their time treating patients"

We are currently looking for another EMR. WebPT is not for us because we want out therapists to actually spend time treating patients. With WebPT, they are typing all day long. I have a hard time getting patients better when I don't have time to touch them, talk to them, or look at them. My therapists hate WebPT!

Pros

3-4 years ago, when WebPT was a smaller organization, they offered better customer service and helped resolve problems. I am confident that they now care only about making money.

Cons

Very expensive. Costs our organization $'s per year. Support is always unable to help. "I'm sorry, your therapist is just going to have to do the whole thing over again." Not user friendly. Therapists have to have work-arounds and extensive training to understand how to document. Documentation does not need to be this difficult. Documentation is not bullet proof. Don't trust their automation. Slow...plan on waiting 10 seconds to pull up a page (we have fiber optic internet, it is not our internet speed). Exercise flowsheets are time consuming and not user friendly. It takes hours to set up and manage the scheduling template.

### "I couldn't be more impressed!"

I have been using WebPT for just shy of 1 year now and I honeslty couldn't be more impressed with this platform! Not only does it provide you with a fantastic web based documentation system but the Marketplace will also provide you with a way to purchase awesome rehab equipment and supplies at a great discount compared to other avenues of purchasing! I've had great experiences with the company as far as customer service goes too! There is always a very prompt response to any of my questions or concerns and I feel like there is always someone at the corporate office for WebPT that has my back! A truly great platform for any physical therapy clinic!

Pros

Fantastic web based platform for documentation--easy access from anywhere! Easy to navigate and customize to make your documentation faster while still keeping it compliant.

Cons

The only thing I wish could be a bit better is the flow sheets that are used for tracking exercises and minutes spent on each activity. They are a bit more time consuming overall compared to the actual SOAP note itself but at least give you a great platform for being descriptive and compliant.

It creates problems, it does not solve them.

Pros

I can leave it on Friday and go home. But same problems exist when I come back on Monday, oh joy!

Cons

It is a total conundrum with mips and we have not been able to finalize evals and progress notes for 2 weeks now! It randomly adds say... a vestibular outcome for a pt with no vestibular problem, can’t calculate the functional score for the outcome and holds up your ability to complete the note and bill for the service.

I am a co-owner of a 4 clinic, private outpatient orthopedic PT practice. We have 6+ PT's and as many PTAs. We were growing frustrated (as we have no IT department) with maintaining our own server and its security and were facing making a large investment to update, just to continue the way we were doing things. After careful analysis, we realized that we were just as frustrated at the way our former EMR functioned, even if it were working at optimal speed. I had been receiving the WebPT emails and took a closer look. Our billing manager, who was using the same billing system that we had used since our inception, was very skeptical and concerned about making any changes. After the demo, she had a different opinion. We have been using WebPT for over 6 months now and the transition could not have gone better. We elected to use Kareo for the ability of seamless documentation and billing - and highly recommend it. Both WebPT and Kareo are user-friendly and have excellent support staffs. We were quickly up to speed in using in the clinic and we use an assortment of desktop & laptops PC's, Macs, & iPads. WebPT does an excellent job of training, and they are very responsive regarding questions and support. Additionally, there are no worries about what happens if the building catches on fire and our server with it, and you can check your schedule with your smartphone! For clinicians/owners/billers facing the FLR dilemma, WebPT offers a great solution. I do not know how we would ever have done it with our previous software/billing. Another thing, I was always "behind" in staying current with my notes. I always had the burden of having to "catch up". I am proud to say that not only are my charges done for today, but so are all of the notes to support said charges (It's clever that the daily note is the charge). Highest recommendations, and always looking forward to what they're going to do next!

Pros

The price was probably the lowest I could find, but as the title says, you get what you pay for.

Cons

The user interface is one of the the worst I have ever used, and that includes pretty much all the Microsoft products I have used over the years. It's cumbersome, requires way too many clicks to enter data that should have been programmed as the default, has poor free-from entry fields, is extraordinarily inconsistent, and has a confusing design, especially considering how long they've been around. When comparing major sections of the program - such as the initial evaluation and exercise log - the pages are completely different, both in how they look and how each page acts when trying to navigate, especially when scrolling through lists. As an example, though I really tried hard to like WebPT and used it for over 2 years, I was never able to get the time to create an initial evaluation report in under an hour, and daily notes took 15 to 20 minutes. It got so completely frustrating that I went back to pen and paper notes during treatments and using my old Microsoft Word forms for evaluation reports and progress notes. Finally, I was not able to use it for treatment notes at table-side because of the klutzy interface, the cumbersome and problematic workaround I had to resort to just to document manual therapy techniques (I specialize in manual therapy), and the fact that it was really difficult to use on an iPad (and I didn't want to lug a laptop around my clinic.)

### "Speech-Language Use"

It is my opinion that more work needs to be done to help speech-language pathologists. They should have the ability to remove the PT stuff and not have to scroll through when using Webpt. There is lots of potential with Webpt - would like to see more adaptation ability for individual owner.

Pros

The front office package works well. The system itself is pretty easy to use and train others on. I do like the look and feel of the system.

Cons

The product was created for PT and not Speech-Langage pathology therefore there is a lot of stuff to wade through that does not apply to speech-language. It feels like Speech-Language is an after thought. Plus you have to pay for WebPt and Threabill, even though they are integrated you have to access them in two differ places. We have to change our terminology to accommodate Webpt. We use SOAP notes, they use Daily Note.

Overall wonderful experience with WebPT, never had a bad experience but I didn't use it for long.

Pros

I appreciate the easy of using this software. It's very user-friendly and is a great resource for students.

Cons

I have not used this software with the organization that I listed but have used it outside of the organization, so I didn't get to use the software to its full capacity, so I can't speak to parts of the software that I dislike because I didn't come across any.

Good focus on billing clean claims.

Pros

I like that WebPT has informative blogs available and good customer service. It's easy to access patient records and choose exactly what you need to print.

Cons

The faxing mechanism could be improved. The report menu should offer more choices. Also, the insurance entry should have more than (2) insurances that migrate to Kareo. Sometimes we have patients with (3) insurances due to liability or other instances.

I am able to do all of the things I would normally have to hire an entire staff for. I am extremely happy.

Pros

How easy it is to learn. I am more of a clinical practitioner and I have gotten quite comfortable in a short amount of time with the software.

Cons

Sterility of the graphics if I had to pick something at all. I really have no complaints. The graphics are the only thing I can think of.

Our company has satisfactorily used WebPT for over four years - even left for a brief period - but returned less than 9 months later and we're glad we did!!

Pros

Very user friendly, great customer service, solid report options, issues are resolved quickly, software has never been 'down' for maintenance during business hours, integration with billing software, etc.

Cons

There are cons with almost everything we use these days - but honestly, WebPT and its staff are always looking to improve their product through customer suggestions. While software products aren't perfect, this one has everything we need for our practice at the moment.

tailored to PT use unlike many other EMRs

Cons

some of the data entry can get redundant - when doing a progress note, none of the objective measures carry over from the objective tab of the note to the billing section where there is another box for objective measures. takes more time to cut and paste - if you don't take this extra step, none of that data will carry over to the next daily note you write.

Pros

I like that this product is very user friendly. It looks very clean, crisp, and organized. It is easy to find what I need and the short cuts are easy to use making my job more efficient and therefore more impressive to patients.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into any issues that I can think of as a receptionist. I schedule LOTS of appointments with this software and scan documents to patients charts and I usually have no issues. Every once in awhile the software does not count appointments correctly or something like that. I call customer service right away and they always take care of my concern quickly and are nice on the phone.

Scheduling can be a little glitchy. Outcome measures must be be entered by PT by hand vs scanned into chart.

Pros

The best feature is that it was a start-up by a Physical Therapist who had an idea of EMR software specifically designed with the PT in mind

Cons

Very labor intensive to chart evaluations, progress reports, and especially daily notes. My staff and I had to spend an inordinate amount of time flipping through the pages to get anything done. Then they "nickel and dime" you for every new PT, student, staff member, feature, etc.

Pros

WebPT makes it easy for us to stay compliant with ever increasing regulations. It is user friendly, has many services you can opt in or out of, is always making upgrades to the system, and offers educational opportunities. The customer service is stellar.

Cons

A specific type of report our owner wants to see is not possible to get. I wish we could look up patients by phone number.

We have been using WebPT EMR since April 2010, and have been very happy with this service. We were using a different EMR, and were frustrated with the awkwardness of the program, but more importantly we were not getting the customer service we needed to get our jobs done. I have used EMR's in many different settings, and have been happy and unhappy, so I was aware of what I thought might work well. I was immediately impressed with the customer service WebPT gave us from the point of sign up to implementation. They scheduled a time to orient our therapists and administrative staff. It didn't take long before our therapists were up and running with WebPT. Any problems that we have had, WebPT has been available to help us sort it out. Our team learned to use WebPT very quickly. We work in a busy outpatient setting with a variety of therapists, ranging from new grads up to very experienced. All of the therapists learned to use the system very quickly, regardless of age or experience with technology. If you can navigate the Internet, you can run this program. It is very intuitive. Since it is web-based, having access to the program at home helps our therapists to monitor their schedules better. They can check their schedules before they come in to best plan their days, and if they get behind on notes, they can finish at home. This system has significantly eased our documentation process, and has eased communication with referrers. Our physicians have thanked us for clearer, easier to read notes. We recently started using Kareo to tie the billing in with our documentation, which has also eased our billing department and has made sending timely claims easier. The best feature of WebPT EMR has been with their customer service. They are prompt, friendly, and ready to listen and work with you, should you have a problem. I highly recommend WebPT EMR.

I've been keeping up personally with our PT patients using WebPT - their progress, current payment to check if we are up to date and any change in physical therapist. Can't complain.

Pros

I can check our customer's progress in PT and the phase of PT they are at in order to determine how much coverage is remaining

Cons

I don't particularly like the interface, it just doesn't feel very comfortable to me. The software despite this is extremely good however!

I live on Guam so there are unique challenges for us. WebPT has been helpful but it does not change the issues related to the time stamp issues. Downloading charts for documentation has been quite challenging for almost a year after one of their upgrades. However, I still use the program!

Pros

The ability to have a one stop webbase Program streamlines work! I like to shop, chart, and learn all in the same site

Cons

Because of my location, it creates time stamp and VPN issues. The charts take forever to open charts because the VPN takes a while to recognize my location. My IT guy says it’s a regional thing and a security thing... it is like we are a threat list!

We've been using WebPT for 4+ years. It is so easy to access patient's medical records and to share them with their doctors and the patient themselves.

Pros

We love how easy it is to use across the board for all of our employees. Our front desk, our physical therapists, and our billing/management department.

Cons

Our only complaint would be that the copays from the patients sometimes do not transfer to our Kareo (our billing system)

We rarely ever have claims returned from insurance companies requesting more information. The templates are thorough and are amenable to "tweaking" by users with minimal complications.

Pros

Portability, as it is in the cloud and accessible from anywhere. I even accessed it to sign documents from East Asia on a trip.

Cons

The consolidated features require extra clicks, as we do not use the billing or scheduling modules in our practice.

Pros

 switched because I wanted more flexibility and lower rates. I found an EMR that allows me to access my notes even from my cell phone, in fact, I can write notes on my cell phone. That's so functional for us since we are always carrying that device so we can catch up anywhere, anytime. WebPT is very expensive and has a lot of "rules" to follow and limited flexibility with how you write your notes. It's cumbersome to bring in copies of notes.

Cons

I love how it keeps track of everything you need from insurance and doctor information to notes and missed notes and billing log.

Cons

I don't like that I can't delete a note that's already finalized if I made a mistake. I would like to be able to fix that on my own without calling customer service

We love this system and rarely have problems with it. The money is worth the system. The clinical is hard for new therapists to learn but once they get used to the system it is fast and easy.

Pros

This system ensures compliance, has an easy to use scheduler. The ability to fax through the system and upload documents to charts using quick scan is amazing. The reporting is new and improved and very helpful.

Cons

There are system outages and slow downs after updates (not frequently), Its hard to switch between licenses, When the internet is lost clinical notes can be partially or mostly deleted/lost.

Fair. It’s better than some systems but overall I don’t like it.

Pros

This is used in the clinics I work in and I chose a different EMR for my own personal business bc I like it much better.

Cons

Notes take too long to write. The system is more user friendly than some systems but there are much better systems available
