### "Good Software"

June 6, 2021

5.0

I used this software when I worked as Head of design department. I think this software can be easily replaced by other software if it is not improved.

Pros

This software is not really user friendly compared to AutoCAD. It is really hard to learn the software. You have to go to relevant courses or read books in this regard.

Cons

It takes a long time to run this software and it requires lots of space to be installed on the computer system.

### "You are only limited by your imagination!"

Pros

My favorite thing about solidworks is that there is a limitless supply of support videos, tutorials, etc to help you design whatever you need

Cons

If there was a simple, streamlined, integrated PDM package, that would be greatly appreciated.

### "Solidworks review"

June 11, 2020

5.0

It has been a great transition program from a basic 2D to 3D, I love using it for my work because I can see things in the models that I couldn't in 2D.

Pros

It is very easy to learn and to be able to manipulate items. The 2d portion is extremely easy to use as well, not like other programs that have way too many steps.

Cons

There aren't too many things that I don't like about the software that I have noticed in the over 15 years of using it.

### "solidworks as the go to software for mechanical designs"

October 11, 2019

4.0

my overall exprience has been great. being an industrial design i have been using solidworks for more than a year and it has become one of my to go software in designing products that mechanically applicable. The software being absolutely user friendly and allowing me to simulate my mechanisms, it have proven to be very helpful.

Pros

the software was easy to learn and also very user friendly for designing mechanical designs. one of the best thing about the software is it allows for simulation of mechanisms and allow designers to view and make quick changes edits to their designs. the new CAM add-on software has made manufacturing using laser cutter easier and has been very helpful in most of my products.

Cons

one of my main concern is that one cannot open files designed on an early version using a new or different version. also some shapes which are organic and dynamic are hard to design meaning i have to use other softwares. the image rendering is still lacking as compared to other software.

### "A nice balance of power and usability"

November 11, 2022

5.0

Solidworks is easy to use, most people know how to use it, it’s very powerful, and electrical and 3D tie in nicely.

Pros

Solidworks strikes a great balance of being feature rich, yet still easy to pick up and use. It would be difficult to find something you couldn’t model in Solidworks. Additionally, Solidworks electrical is very good and it ties in well with 3D.

Cons

With Solidworks we use the collaboration database which is great for revision control and collaboration but it causes all sorts of issues. If I remove my laptop from the dock it will lose connection and then when I try to reconnect it will say someone is using that page. I have to restart my computer to fix this issue.

### "Excelente Herramientas"

November 28, 2022

5.0

### "Awesome design software!"

June 2, 2018

5.0

Pros

We started working in 3D design with AutoCAD but soon switched to SolidWorks for its powerful feature set, excellent performance and ease of use.

Cons

As with any software of this magnitude aimed at business use, licensing is a bit steep but it is on par with competitors. It would be nice to see a version for hobbyists, priced accordingly.

### "SolidWorks is excellent 3D modeling software."

September 19, 2019

4.0

SolidWorks has always met my needs for parts and equipment design very well, without doubt one of the best software available for it.

Pros

SolidWorks has all the tools you need for a complete equipment design. Allows from simple part design to complex assemblies.

Cons

In complex assemblies, it requires a computer with good memory capacity to function perfectly. Project detailing is a little unintuitive at first.

### "solid works a good parameterized modeling tool"

May 14, 2021

5.0

I have used it to design and model many objects, I love it because it is complete.

Pros

Solid Works is a very complete modeling tool that allows you to do many things: modeling, analyzing many forces, temperature resistance, air, designing circuits. It is one of the most complete tools on the market that you can find.

Cons

A price is a high-cost tool. therefore not just anyone can buy it.

It is useful and necessary for the mechanical engineer to develop in the design area and optimize your work

Pros

Ease to create 3D mechanical parts, as long as you have CAD knowledge, it is compatible to save in various types of files

Cons

The files are heavy and the initial investment is expensive if you have a small company it is difficult to access all the benefits offered by this software

### "Essential software for every engineer."

May 17, 2018

5.0

Pros

It is such a powerful software that every engineer needs to learn. It has so much precission, you can design parts or prototypes with a lot of quality. It is really great that you can see all of the type of efforts applied to your designs and the response they will have, so you can estimate the breaking point and all of the limitations it may have.

Cons

It can be really overwhelming and it really require for you to have a lot of domain over lots of command for you to start using it to it's full potential, perhaps an inside tutorial would be helpfull-

### "Anything you need to design - limited learning curve."

January 18, 2018

4.0

This was a great to building my business. I was able to save money purchasing this software, and I also greatly enjoyed how sketches can quickly become 3D. Once you get past the learning curve, it's smooth sailing.

Pros

I love the ability to create exact dimensions and sketch planes. This software is significantly easier to use than some of the other flagship brands in that it is a bit more user friendly. It's also not as resource intensive. You can create scenes.

Cons

I don't like that there is still quite a learning curve to really dive into this product. Also, I do wish it would have a less proprietary file format for parts and assemblies. However, it can save as many things for 3D printing and prototyping.

### "Easy but powerful CAD software"

July 30, 2019

5.0

As a mechanical engineering undergraduate I get to work with lot of CAD software. But when it comes to 3D modeling and simulation my first choice is Solidworks. It is very easy to use but a software with powerful capabilities. Learning Solidworks is easy as its interface and features are intuitive and explained contextually. Also it is very easy to find support on online. It is very important to me as I self learning the software. Finally I can say Solidworks is one of the best 3D modeling software for engineer and recommend to anyone.

Pros

1\. Powerful 3D design capabilities. 2. Powerful analyzing capabilities. 3. Animation capabilities. 4. Easy to use. 5. Easy to find support online. 6. Price

Cons

1\. Rendering and illumination is not much powerful. 2. Not compatible with old versions of Solidworks. 3. Takes up lot of ram.

### "Solidworks Review"

January 10, 2023

4.0

Solidworks has been a decent product, although not the most intuitive, the tradeoff is its infinite features and tools.

Pros

Solidworks runs great on my computer which isn't the most powerful. I like the multitude of features which let me design whatever I need to make given enough trial and error.

Cons

SolidWorks definitely has quite the learning curve, many times errors that I've never encountered in other CAD software like Inventor or Fusion 360. These errors are frequent and sometimes frustrating to overcome.

### "Solidworks review"

February 20, 2020

5.0

In my opinon is an excellent software, it gives you the opporutnity to modelate a simple part and a hole assembly, you can also simulate different things

Pros

In my user´s opinion i think Solidworks is one of the best design softwares available. I learn how to use it when i was developing my graduation project and i was really helpfull. It helped me to simulate in an excellent way the project i want to develop What i like the most about this software is the 3d modeling features, also is gives you the option to simulate different features like temperature, fluids, etc; and it is compatible with other softwares so can simulate other tings. One thing that is very usefull is that you can model each part separately and then assmble them in a hole piece using the same software.

Cons

As many other CAD softwares, when you are dealing with a big assembly or model the software slows down a litlle bit, but i have had this problem in many other CAD softwares

### "Solidworks will not let you down"

July 18, 2019

5.0

We have always used solidworks and it has never let us down, the constant updates can get old, but they are always worth it in the end.

Pros

I enjoy how user friendly it is, even for someone with little modeling experience, i feel like you could stumble your way through Solidworks fairly easily.

Cons

Some of the commands and functions can be a bit tedious to use, but nothing out of the ordinary for modeling software.

### "One stop for all CAD works"

May 11, 2021

5.0

Overall, it is a best destination for all to perform CAD works .

Pros

Solid works is simply more professional compared to most of the other CAD software. The prime thing of Solid works is, it is user friendly , easy to understand and handful of options. The vast number of features make it more useful. To a student who is a beginner to a professional , its the prime destination for CAD software.

Cons

Analysis is the only aspect where solid works is less considered to use. It does the work but not that accurate and reliable as analysis softwares.

### "Solidworks is an excellent mechanical CAD sotware, it is very flexible and is always improving"

June 19, 2018

5.0

It allowed me to learn a lot about mechanical design. I really enjoyed the fact that I may get certified by Solidworks

Pros

I like the ease of use. Also, the tutorials are very clear and it allows the user to be trained for a certification for free. The fact that it allows assemblies and mechanical drawings is very important. Other tools only allow to generate drawings no matter what you are going to model. With Solidworks, the tools are designed for mechanical assemblies, helping engineers to perform professional models with high quality.

Cons

I really do not like the electrical and piping tools. They are really hard to use. In addition, the surface tool not always do what I want. Finally, the dependency between subassemblies may be improved

### "Student Review of SolidWorks Premium"

June 26, 2022

Except for the mechanical tests on the created pieces, it is a nice software.

Pros

After you get used to it, it's super easy and simple to use.

Cons

It can get a bit difficult to understand the software at the beggining. At the same time, the software limits a lot the studies of the pieces because it has some bugs.
