Comments: Our agency provides mental health and substance abuse services to the citizens of St. Joseph County. In the fall of 2008 we began a search for an electronic health record solution. Prior to Streamline we used a mixture of paper charts, an electronic billing system, and various spreadsheets to conduct business and reporting. We selected Streamline in December 2008. Over the next 6 months we prepared and planed the complete transition from paper to electronic charts and billing. On June 1st 2009 we went live with Smart Care (EHR), Practice Management, and Care Management with Provider Access (web solution for providers to submit and manage claims). The six month turnaround is testament to both the outstanding customer support team and the flexibility of the software to be tailored to meet our needs. Training was minimal due to the intuitive nature of the applications. Rather than having to remember the steps needed to do your job, it is a point and click dashboard-driven approach. The benefits to using Streamline: higher audit scores (due to errors corrected at the time of entry), quick data reporting on key financial and clinical measurements, fast and accurate upload of vendor billing (837), all at a very reasonable price.
