I like that there is also always someone available to help if you get stuck with something and the staff are kind and knowledgeable. Pros Jackrabbit is the most user friendly platform I have ever used in comparison to others and now I can't imagine using anything else. The reports and searchability is unmatched and everything is very easy to personalize. Its easy to sort people and transactions by different criteria which helps with reporting and planning. Cons I sometimes forget to archive older students, so the cost goes up with the more leads you have in the system. I would also love a way to integrate it with go high level to help us track leads v registered students. Hoping to see that down the road. We are very happy with the service and all we can offer our families. Pros Choosing what I like most is hard to narrow down.. So, I will list the things that I do like about Jackrabbit Dance! I really appreciate the quick and effective REAL Person client support team, whenever I have a question or made a mistake in my system they are ready to help. I find the dashboard very easy to navigate and I love all the customization settings for the classes and families/students. The team is always working on making changes & updates to the system to make personalization more available for what each studio needs. The parent portal is easy to navigate and we love the new addition of Appointments - we will be adding private lessons that way soon! Cons I wish that the emailing had widgets for creating newsletters right in Jackrabbit rather than having to create on canva then copy & paste. Or, if the emailing had a way to paste an html to format an email newsletter. We love jackrabbit pay, but I wish there was a way to void a payment when a bank account is used. It is easy to train new staff while continuing to grow our student body. Pros The program is SO user-friendly! I love that you can search classes, families, phone numbers, or email addresses. The buttons are clear, and you can save reports for easy access later down the road! Cons Recital or Performance section doesn't tell you what the student is assigned to. UGH! We do 3 performances and have to use Microsoft Access to organize our recitals/performances. Wish Jackrabbit could just do it so we don't have to export and keep 2 databases up to date. March 26, 2026 5.0 Love JR, have been using it for years. Wouldn't switch unless there was a ver concerning issue. But we've never had any in the past so we will continue to use. Pros Its efficient and very easy to use. Anytime I have any issues or need help the customer service reps do great walk through's. Cons With payment processing if clients use a bank accounts it automatically says it's been accepted and to "check terminal / bank account". I never did this in the past and then noticed most of the bank account's were denied and the money was removed without any notifications to us. I wish JR had something (similar to their card processing) that would let us know when a payment is denied. I’m glad we are making the switch. Pros I love that it has so many customizable options. With a fairly complex programming at our studio, Jackrabbit has been the only software that can solve many of our program related hurdles with class management Cons The hard coded filters like gender. We don’t mention gender at our studio, but the word gender is hard coded above every class on the filters. The Inability to tie and schedule fees to classes is a challenging one for us and would be the reason we would ever leave. We are able to run a multi-layered company fairly smoothly. I have looked into other companies, and have not been confident we would have all the tools jackrabbit offers. Pros Overall we are happy with Jackrabbit. I view alot of posts complaining that they are unable to speak with someone for assistance on the spot, their customer support is great. They reply quickly and work until our issue is resolved. I honestly have come to like this way of communication. Cons Billing, although it has improved. We have various billing dates for various areas of our business and I have to manipulate things to make it work. Jackrabbit has been supportive in giving guidance, but it can still prove to be difficult. And I am disappointed in Jackrabbit pay. We were forced to switch to them, and I do feel our previous merchant was better. I do wish there was a way to opt out of certain ones like camps and appointments. We do not have use for those Pros Easy to use and to teach others how to use. Love the parent portal and that parents can see all messages sent to them. Customer support is awesome! Always there to help and never make me feel dumb for not knowing something. Cons I wish there was a faster way to enroll a lot of students at once. I wish we didn’t have to pay for inactive students. I know we can send them to lead but then when the come back I have to remember and pull from lead file and merge accounts. If I don’t remember they look like a new family. Support staff were helpful and documentation was strong. The policy approvals and authorized pickup features are helping our preparations go smoothly and we've had a good experience handling customized situations e.g. camp scholarships. Features keep coming as well, such as camp add-ons available in the parent portal allowing us to sell t-shirts. Everything from keeping yearly measurements for costumes to payment. Pros The weekly calendar. We used to have to printout each class and class time and post, now I can just look at the screen. They're very responsive in the Facebook user group and I appreciate their transparency around feature requests and the product roadmap. Pros I really like the dashboard feature, new calendar, and how easy it is to automate posting monthly tuition. The dashboard also has the option to adjust what sections you see plus create (and save!) a filtered view of classes. The calendar feature makes it super easy to get an at-a-glance view of classes for the day and easily check room, instructor, enrollment, etc. - this is a game changer for our front desk. We have two different types of tuition that get posted on a monthly basis and being able to automate that to run was a huge timesaver for us. I'm also really excited for the new email feature to go live beyond just template creation, I think it will make it a lot easier for us to send beautiful studio-wide messages. Cons I wish the events feature was more robust - there are a lot of ways I can see our dance studio using this for pop up classes, special events, etc., but it's not quite there yet and requires some additional admin time on my part to use. I also wish students transferring into different classes were more seamless with billing, some of how that works isn't intuitive - our interim solution is to manually remember to go back and fix it, but thankfully our families are patient with us correcting any issues. The biggest issue our families (and admins) have is with understanding current vs future balance. It's not presented in a way that makes sense or is clear for families - we've done our best to educate families to always look at the due date next to a charge, but this is still one of our biggest struggles. Are there things I wish I could do differently or change about it? Sure. And it does take time to learn it to be able to fully utilize it. But it also has so many functions that for newbies has helped us solve problems in a pinch. As someone who has used Jackrabbit in other places, I'd say it does have it's limits. For studios like ours it's perfect because we are small team and just getting started. If we ever exceed 200 students or start doing more productions/shows, we may switch to something with a stronger website integration system because Jackrabbit feels limited on website display options. But truly, it does the trick, the Jackrabbit staff have always been helpful, and I like the control I have of building classes/billing. Pros I really like the level of control I have over classes, schedules, tuition, fees, etc. There is a lot you can do manually which helps with those unique situations a studio often runs into where we have multiple types of transactions and reasons, as well as different kinds of classes that all need to eb classified differently. I also like the dashboard with enrollment stats and due balances. Cons 1: It was advertised as something that integrates with Quickbooks but there is still a lot you have to manually do for every transaction to make sure Quickbooks reports the transactions correctly 2: I wish there were more ways to integrate it into a website and customize the display on a website. Their recent upgrade to client messaging missed the mark, though, and has not given me the tools I need to make composing messages any easier. Pros Jackrabbit gives me many tools to understand how my business is doing and to easily communicate with families. Scheduling classes is easy, and they are linked to my website so that I don't have to update both when I make changes. Cons The Recital Editor is almost very useful, but the UI is very dated and complicated, simply using modern fonts would make it vastly simpler to use. The fact that I cannot email everyone participating in a single recital is also infuriating - that functionality is pretty basic. I can create a list of everyone in a recital - why is there no button to email them? We love the ability of performing group edits on classes. The Business Intelligence dashboard is a game changer for us and allows us to easily see enrollments/drops and metrics surrounding retention and churn without having to create special reports and spreadsheets. We are excited to use the new Appointments feature to define and track our over 400 hours of weekly private lessons. Cons We have several different tuition charts in effect in the same session and we struggle with not being able to create multiple charts in JR for the same session. Our previous system was much more challenging for people to navigate and sign up for classes/find what they were looking for. Jackrabbit has clear options for parents in the portal and not too much extra stuff them to get lost in. I also like the ability to archive classes and families (who have left). Cons I wish I my end it was a little easier to find my own setting for things like drop down menus for things like tuition charges. I dont like that when i schedule a makeup class i need to hover, not click, the class in the calendar. It's small but annoying. It does have a lot of features and I have high hopes that improvements will improve my experience. Pros I like that they are constantly improving things and building more features in a (mostly) comprehensive and efficient manner. I hear customer service is solid, but I have not used it. Webinars are usually well done, but super basic and I rarely learn anything new. Cons It is far less intuitive than other software programs I have used. I feel like I have to more things manually and am rarely able to find what I'm looking for help on using the search criteria. A simple search yields results that do not align with the basic keywords or phrases I use to get information. There is also little continuity in how things function throughout the program. For example, 'save changes' is different for each thing that is editable as far as size, placement, whether things are done automatically or needs an extra 'save' button pushed. I wish it was more user friendly. Pros It does have a lot of the necessary features you would need for a dance studio. Such as recital and costume orders. Cons You CANNOT just push a button and process all Tuition with one transaction. It is so time consuming to add in EVERY students posting of tuition then go back in there to process. If there was a way to save their info it would save so much time posting and processing. Also, the feature of registration is either all or nothing. I wish you could turn off registration for some of the classes. We do not charge registration for our adult classes but only our kids. And I always have confused adults because they think they are being charge registration. Please fix this.
