Owner Entertainment Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Love Jackrabbit Dance!" March 26, 2026 5.0 Love JR, have been using it for years. Wouldn't switch unless there was a ver concerning issue. But we've never had any in the past so we will continue to use. Pros Its efficient and very easy to use. Anytime I have any issues or need help the customer service reps do great walk through's. Cons With payment processing if clients use a bank accounts it automatically says it's been accepted and to "check terminal / bank account". I never did this in the past and then noticed most of the bank account's were denied and the money was removed without any notifications to us. I wish JR had something (similar to their card processing) that would let us know when a payment is denied. I do wish there was a way to opt out of certain ones like camps and appointments. We do not have use for those Pros Easy to use and to teach others how to use. Love the parent portal and that parents can see all messages sent to them. Customer support is awesome! Always there to help and never make me feel dumb for not knowing something. Cons I wish there was a faster way to enroll a lot of students at once. I wish we didn’t have to pay for inactive students. I know we can send them to lead but then when the come back I have to remember and pull from lead file and merge accounts. If I don’t remember they look like a new family. It is easy to train new staff while continuing to grow our student body. Pros The program is SO user-friendly! I love that you can search classes, families, phone numbers, or email addresses. The buttons are clear, and you can save reports for easy access later down the road! Cons Recital or Performance section doesn't tell you what the student is assigned to. UGH! We do 3 performances and have to use Microsoft Access to organize our recitals/performances. Wish Jackrabbit could just do it so we don't have to export and keep 2 databases up to date. Areas of improvement are more niche, like recital management and drop-ins. Pros Being able to easily manage all aspects of the registration and class administration process, including initial class registration, scheduling makeup classes, processing tuition, and tracking attendance. Cons The recital/shows management could be more integrated with the rest of the platform- you can't adjust someone's recital participation from their profile. More so than other software we have used. This is our current software. Pros Jackrabbit shows a thorough overview of your business and has many options for reports. You are able to break down income reports by genre, class, students, year, etc. Cons The transaction summary on each client account can sometimes be confusing. The running balance is often hard to track. It is easy to miss charges on accounts if you have rules set. December 12, 2024 5.0 I have used a few different studio software systems over my 17 years of dance studio ownership. I was regretfully tempted to try a new platform a few years ago - BUT I immediately returned to Jackrabbit and will never stray again! Not only does it offer everything I'm looking for in one program, but it's always adding new features (many of which are suggestions from other users like me!) And if I have an issue (user error or otherwise), the customer service is incredibly responsive and helpful! I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Jackrabbit and highly recommend to my DSO peers! Pros I love having a one-stop-shop for all aspects of running my dance studio - CRM, costume management, store inventory, recital prep, and more! No need to use a bunch of different apps/programs - Jackrabbit does it all! Cons Wish I could tab between students or families, but I love that I can make that suggestion and it could possibly be added to the improvement pipeline! It had great customer support for when I needed the guidance. Now, we use it for our classes and its interface is awesome. Pros Very user-friendly. All the training is provided so it's an easy to use app. it does have everything needed in it, I consider it a "one stop shop" - great use for what it costs. Cons It was difficult to be able to modify different billing details. at first, as a small studio it could be considered expensive for some but not once fully and properly implemented. Everything from keeping yearly measurements for costumes to payment. Pros The weekly calendar. We used to have to printout each class and class time and post, now I can just look at the screen. Cons I wish the phone numbers were listed next to more searches. We love the ability of performing group edits on classes. The Business Intelligence dashboard is a game changer for us and allows us to easily see enrollments/drops and metrics surrounding retention and churn without having to create special reports and spreadsheets. We are excited to use the new Appointments feature to define and track our over 400 hours of weekly private lessons. Cons We have several different tuition charts in effect in the same session and we struggle with not being able to create multiple charts in JR for the same session. Our previous system was much more challenging for people to navigate and sign up for classes/find what they were looking for. Jackrabbit has clear options for parents in the portal and not too much extra stuff them to get lost in. I also like the ability to archive classes and families (who have left). Cons I wish I my end it was a little easier to find my own setting for things like drop down menus for things like tuition charges. The Jackrabbit staff are also always only a call away to help with anything Cons It can be a bit of a beast to set up, also the monthly cost goes up the most students you have and it doesn't ever delete any students so you end up having to pay for students that came years ago that no longer attend. However we do get around it by manually deleting old students out of the system. It does have a lot of features and I have high hopes that improvements will improve my experience. Pros I like that they are constantly improving things and building more features in a (mostly) comprehensive and efficient manner. I hear customer service is solid, but I have not used it. Webinars are usually well done, but super basic and I rarely learn anything new. Cons It is far less intuitive than other software programs I have used. I feel like I have to more things manually and am rarely able to find what I'm looking for help on using the search criteria. A simple search yields results that do not align with the basic keywords or phrases I use to get information. There is also little continuity in how things function throughout the program. For example, 'save changes' is different for each thing that is editable as far as size, placement, whether things are done automatically or needs an extra 'save' button pushed. I wish it was more user friendly. Pros It does have a lot of the necessary features you would need for a dance studio. Such as recital and costume orders. Cons You CANNOT just push a button and process all Tuition with one transaction. It is so time consuming to add in EVERY students posting of tuition then go back in there to process. If there was a way to save their info it would save so much time posting and processing. Also, the feature of registration is either all or nothing. I wish you could turn off registration for some of the classes. We do not charge registration for our adult classes but only our kids. And I always have confused adults because they think they are being charge registration. Please fix this. I love the interface with the weekly calendar that can take me to ANY class quickly. Once I got used to its operation, JD was really easy to use. I wouldn't say that I'm a "power user" - I tend to use just the basic features... and these are working great for our small nonprofit ballet school. Pros Easy to use with tracking class attendance. Having an all-in-one platform payment works well, too. Customer service is terrific. I have had a few issues come up, and each time the support staff solved my problems well. Making a video to step me through the process of fixing my issues is great. Cons It's still confusing to me about Posting the fees and then the e-Payments. This is especially troublesome when a student registers for a class near the end of a month, and then the system will bill them for the remaining weeks in the month (that's fine) but also for the following month which has not started yet (that is ultra-confusing). Getting those duplicate postings NOT to charge is difficult at times.
