June 19, 2023 5.0 I'm very satisfied with Jackrabbit itself and with its helpful team! I would recommend it to others! Pros Online registration, online payments and invoicing, the POS system, the extensive reports available to run, and the revenue chart comparisons. I have to say these are my favorite features. They made running my studio so easy. I was able to see at a glance everything that was happening internally, from the financial aspect to how my classes were being filled and who was behind or ahead on tuition. Cons Perhaps this is just me, but I feel the layout of Jackrabbit's many different features could be improved somewhat. The font (a little on the small size) and drop-downs- especially when there are many drop downs and options to choose from, such as when customizing a report- can be confusing and cause a bit of a headache. I think that some slight design changes to their appearance will be a little easier on the eyes. I understand Jackrabbit is very functional in appearance, which is fine, no need for a whole aesthetic overhaul, but sometimes the layout is a little confusing.I also found that most of my dance parents (and me too for the first year of using Jackrabbit) got confused by their statements. Perhaps a change in the statement format to more clearly differentiate what was and paid, what they owe. Review Source AH Alex H. It definitely is a great aid in running my business. Pros I opened my studio with this software. I like the ease of billing and that everything is located in one space- class schedule, attendance, student info, billing info, registration, staff management. I also like the ease of online enrollment. Cons The email tool isn't great. I can't make the emails look quite as professional as I'd like without using other systems (such as Canva). There are several things that are glitchy. For instance with billing or sending out statements, if something isn't checked or entered just right it can eliminate people from getting billed. Administrator Performing Arts Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Best for group class programs" March 11, 2022 4.0 For my responsibilities, general admin stuff and costume management, Jackrabbit has been fine. I think the interface could probably be a little more user friendly, but overall I think it's a great option for studios. Pros Jackrabbit makes managing classes pretty easy. Enrolling/withdrawing students, setting class parameters and pre-requisites, and there is like an endless amount of reports that you can pull to get basically any data set you could need. Cons The costume management features could definitely be improved. Editing costume pieces doesn't always update properly across all the students it's assigned to when you save, it's difficult to find a naming convention that works for orders because of limitations, and it would be really helpful to have an outseam measurement field. Student lists also aren't automatically alphabetized which ends up requiring extra steps of exporting reports into excel to resort data. For a small to medium size studio these things probably wouldn't be that big of a deal, but as a very large studio ordering 2000+ costume pieces these things can add a lot of extra work. Overall the costume management isn't awful, but for a software that is EXTREMELY customizable in like every other way, I wish it had more to offer in this aspect. Review Source JP Jennifer P. Cons I wish they could do the automatic tuition draft on their end so we don't still have to go into the system to do that each month. July 23, 2018 5.0 Jackrabbit helps me with online and in-person registration, scheduling, parent communication, accounts receivable, costume sizing and ordering plus a whole lot more. Overall it's a great program I'd recommend to any studio owner. Pros JR is ALWAYS updating the user features based on user feedback through an "idea" button on the dashboard where we can share ideas we have about functionality that we'd like to see added to their already great service. As noted before, I have been a user since 2009 and I can tell you the system is always evolving. They make me feel like my opinion matters. Cons Here's what could be improved: 1. Text Messaging needs to be two way. Right now text replies are sent via email which is not always convenient. (but this is true of all the top providers right now) 2. Automatic Payments are not FULLY available. You have to manually perform a group batch to charge everyone on the day you want the payment to go through. In other words, you can't just "set it and forget it". However the batch process is a simple 2 step process. (Also true of all the other top studio software) 3. Currently, there is no customer app. I am mainly interested in this for the push notification feature. This would be great for promotions and deadline reminders. However, to be fair, they do have a great customer portal which is mobile optimized so customers can access their account anytime on all their devices. (Again, non of the top software have this feature) 4. The LEADS file is limited. Currently, it's mainly a place to park your leads and inactive clients with an email feature. I'd like to see more CRM capabilities like automated drip emails etc. That being said, I have taken the time to research most of the top software and I still find JR to be the most functional and up to date. I feel this is due to the fact that they are always listening to the studio owners and updating the service to meet our needs. Keep up the GREAT WORK Jackrabbit. Love your service!!!!! July 4, 2016 4.0 We started with Jackrabbit over 4 years ago. I was brand new to our dance studio and the system was still on a "trial" version. As a new faculty member I knew from the trial that the software was going to take us in the right direction as our studio grew more each season. In the beginning we started using the most basic features and each year we learn and add more - kindof the way our business grows. For us, the absolute most-important feature that makes us continue to stay with Jackrabbit over any other software/company/etc is the customer service. We can get help to some of our toughest (and silliest) questions so quickly via email, phone or the Jackrabbit Facebook Community. It really is above and beyond any other company we've dealt with. <3 Thank you Jackrabbit!! <3 Pros \-Customization options to suit our business as it grows -integration options into our studio website -CUSTOMER SERVICE any time we need it. (sometimes on holidays/weekends when they aren't supposed to be working!) -Options for tracking both families and staff -The new Staff Portal is great, we're excited to implement it in the new season. -We love the fact that Jackrabbit is constantly growing and improving. Cons \-No automatic payments from a bank account for Canadian customers (for us to pay our monthly fees to Jackrabbit) <- this is the one and only reason we've looked at other companies. As a studio that does not run on any credit cards - going to the bank to load a debit-visa type card is very time consuming. -The process to setup accepting payments for online registrations has been very time consuming (we're very-much looking forward to the day we can be done with it!) Cons It’s a bit expensive and you can’t archive students only families so if you have 5 registered in a family but only one is active, you’re potentially paying for the non active registrants. March 11, 2022 4.0 We're satisfied, just really hoping we'll have an "open rate"or a notice that simply shows if an email has been opened... which we know is not always 100% accurate, but Studio Director has recently upped their game in matching Jackrabbit in a few more features, and they still have the emailed "opened" notice feature, which their sales rep keeps harping on as a reason for us to switch back. Really hoping Jackrabbit makes this happen soon, its been discussed in the section of owners bringing up new features they'd like to see. Pros The ease of handling all online transactions and auto-pay system is honestly great! Cons Knowing was emails have been opened by our dance customers. We asked about this feature when we were looking into switching from Studio Director... which DOES have this feature.... and we honestly NEED IT! Overall the product is very adaptable and user friendly. If you do have a question, customer service is there for you when you need them. The online tutorials are also plentiful to answer a multitude of questions and are well done and understandable. Pros We have so many "special cases" that we have had to learn how to optimize JackRabbit for our needs. The customer service staff is always helpful, easy to get in contact with and have excellent followup should the occasion arise that they need to research my issue further. Really appreciate the JackRabbit customer service! Cons We really need the flexibility to have more than one rate card in the system. It's still pretty good, but really struggling with the fact that 1. you can't organize and enroll based on grade, rather than age. 2. the find classes filter screen update from earlier this year is HORRIBLE. Don't even use it at all now. 3. you can't deactivate a student from a family and have to pay for old people that won't come back because they've aged out but happen to have a sibling (or whatever the case is). 4. skills and feedback are not really set up in a usable way for a dance studio. Shame to not be able to utilize. Pros Love the online enrollment capabilities. Cons Sorting and organizing into web registration. Filters aren't helpful anymore. Go back to the old way please. Each of these things allows me to focus my time on other things my students, teachers, and clients need. Cons I wish functionality was a bit higher in the skills area. I had to use some "workarounds" in order to do what I was planning with it, but my expectations may have been a bit high there. I also wish that I could upload larger files as it limits the type of content I can add in our "resources." I always get a great answer from staff when I do have to create a ticket. Often I find what I need through your tutorials and help sections. Pros I like that there are updates that help make things more streamlined. The registration process for parents works great. Billing is great and time clock for employees is great. Cons The way refunds show up in accounts is confusing for people. We need a system for divorced families and we REALLY need a way to show different times for classes that meet on multiple days. Pros it's easy to navigate, holds a lot of information, has 3rd party gateway for secure credit card information, ability to email multiple families or classes at once Cons We have to create a ton of work arounds for most of our needs. There is no customer access to the store. No gift certificates. Our adult students consistently complain about creating their Portal- it would be great if there was a truncated version for them.
