### "The best virtual environment"

April 7, 2019

5.0

Very positive!!!

Pros

Pretty much everything about this software is flawless. It's easy to set up, and extremely powerful and cost effective. Just this past week I migrated live SQL production databases on the fly with zero downtime to another storage unit. Hot add memory and CPU is very convenient. vMotion is amazing, snapshots, the list goes on.

Cons

Price, it's expensive to get all the features. But it's great that the base version is free. You get what you pay for

### "Great way to get the max out of your servers!"

February 16, 2018

5.0

Unparralleled mix of different operating systems running concurrently, snapshot backups, possibility of load balancing, this is a mature product that is both stable and powerful, we simply couldn't run our business the way we do without it.

Pros

Fantastic functionalities and configurability, snapshots are super useful, allows a mix of any O/S you can think of.

Cons

Snapshot management is a bit counter-intuitive, occasional virtual machine can run amock and drag down others while it eats away the host's resources.

### "VMware "

December 10, 2019

5.0

It works great. We originally were evaluating MS Hyper-V, but this seemed much more stable, and easier to use.

Pros

This is very stable, and easy to configure. We are using a hyper-converged platform for 2 campuses, and it works great. The redundancy is also a peace of mind.

Cons

The annual costs for this are expensive. Also, the customer support can be hit-or-miss, but I haven't had to call often.

Reason for choosing vSphere

stability, and ease-of use.

### "VMWare is built for enterprise!"

November 16, 2017

5.0

High availability. Better control over our entire datacenter. Better options for recovery and maintenance.

Pros

VSphere is a fantastic virtualization platform that is worth the cost. The clustering aspects prevented downtime for our clients on more than one occasion. We moved from Hyper-V years ago and haven't looked back!

Cons

The cost is high as it is with any industry leading software company. Training is certainly required to get the most out of this product as well.

### "vSphere is the best on perm Virtualization Platform Hands Down"

April 14, 2020

5.0

We've had a positive overall experience with Vmware vSphere. We use it to power Production, UAT and Dev/QA workloads across multiple sites. It meets our uptime and regulatory requirements.

Pros

Easy to use scalable enterprise virtualization platform. Vsphere is our on perm virtualization platform, across all data centers and offices

Cons

There is no cloud based option, we can connect data centers across our WAN but we have no way to directly connect to a public cloud and transfer workloads.

### "Solid virtualization tool in the IT market"

February 20, 2023

Pros

It like the integration with cloud providers to offer vmware as a service. Specially on IBM Cloud where we have a wide variety of offerings.

Cons

Nothing to argue. The top virtualization tool in the market!

### "More OS on a single computer"

November 4, 2022

5.0

From Configuration to usage, the whole vSphere experience is superb!

Pros

As a systems administrator, I work with servers a lot. vSphere has really improved my work efficiency since I am able to set up various operating systems (Linux and Microsoft servers) on my laptop for local development, testing, and automation.

Cons

Well, so features are still hard to grasp and might be missing straightforward documentation. Aside from that, I like every feature.

### "The best virtualization platform out there."

November 16, 2017

5.0

Turns just a few physical servers into Hundreds of Virtual servers. The ROI is amazing.

Pros

A complete offering. Feature rich. Works very well with minimal complex setup. Can be configured for maximum performance with some bit of tweaking of hardware and software. Compatible with the widest number of guest operating systems. New HTML5 web interface is accessible from mobile devices.

Cons

Can be very complex in larger configurations. More feature rich editions are quite expensive. You can be nickel and dimed to death with addons. May require outside resources to setup correctly for maximum performance depending on your environment.

### "Excellent virtualization software"

September 19, 2018

5.0

Pros

The ability to consolidate, move, and manage multiple physical instances from a single platform is extremely useful and offers great CAPEX and OPEX savings. It is easy to configure and manage VMs.

Cons

The licensing can be very pricing and is the only significant detractor I can think of. Also, sometimes I have problems adding peripherals to my VMs and this seems to be a problem with VMware itself, not the device drivers.

### "Vmware vsphere"

October 4, 2019

5.0

Although it was overpriced.,it is still keeping my production environment up and running 24\*7.I am able to manage hundreds of virtual machines with a single click.

Pros

Ease of Understanding. Easy to create and manage virtual machines on the fly.Simplified data center management.Faster provisioning of applications and resources.

Cons

VMware is overpriced.Hardware compatibility. VMs are not good for load testing if your production environment is completely physical

### " Very practical"

May 8, 2019

5.0

In general, it uses the equipment efficiently. Recommend

Pros

I am using to manage ESXI servers.I only have three areas to fill: IP Address User name Password. Then I'm directly connected to the server. Very practical.

Cons

The desktop version was removed after the migration to ESXi Web version. I think this disadvantage because I liked the desktop version.

### "Repurpose Aging Servers Quickly and Profit"

March 20, 2018

4.0

Repurpose old hardware and make great, efficient use of machines that are just sitting idle. Great for testing and certification of applications.

Pros

We've been able to re-purpose some older servers that were not being used. We're currently using vSphere for a sandbox environment and some non-critical business applications. The hypervisor has allowed to host some apps we did not have room for on other servers. The setup was quick and painless. We were worried that the server hardware would not run as smooth but the broad compatibility of vSphere has allowed to us a smooth and suprisingly fast experience.

Cons

Since we're on the free flavor, obviously we're hitting some of the limitations of a non-paid version. However, we're looking at possibly making a purchase in the near future.

### "A must for any infrastructure department"

August 31, 2019

5.0

My overall experience has been positive, all good.

Pros

vSphere allows you to manage your virtualised environment from one remote application. As a use I only just scratched the service of it but to able to support our domain and infrastructure from the comfort of my desk is extremely helpful

Cons

That it's so complex. If you really want to get into this software I would recommend taking a course to understand it fully.

### "Easy to use and reliable"

December 5, 2017

5.0

Easy and Reliable VM Management.

Pros

I love this software as it is easy to use. When it comes to your vm's, this is your companies life. If a vm has an issue, this could cost the company thousands of dollars an minute being down. You need something that shows all our vm's in one place, is well laid out and is also reliable. This software is all of that. It makes managing all your vm's from one central place a breeze.

Cons

Sometimes i find the error messages can be a little vague and confusing so i have to call up support to find out what they mean. But support is always fast to answer and very helpful.

### "Great Virtualization"

October 15, 2019

4.0

Web portal is quick and easy, I like that we can set it up with our AD creds making log in easy. Love the smooth performance.

Pros

Windows app and web portal Great place to track our server environment All our servers housed in one convenient virtual area, no need to RDP individually all the time

Cons

App can be a bit slow, better to use the web portal. Other than that I have seen nothing more, and no complaints from other coworkers

### "Good for business"

November 20, 2018

5.0

I have been using it for about 6 years already and I love it :)

Pros

Easy usage and even when upgrades happen, they try to keep the overall outlook so its easy to transition from one previous version to a new one, but with more features everytime. Also you are not force to upgrade inmediately as techinical support goes for a while.

Cons

I really can not add anything on the list, I am really happy with this product

### "Good hypervisor to create your virtual servers on top of that"

September 24, 2019

5.0

We want to virtualize our datacenter in order to consolidate our physical servers in fewer resources. While we virtualize our datacenter with vmware, we also add value to the management operations. We add features like high availability, vmotion, DRS, FT.

Pros

It is a robust hypervisor that has ton of features like HA, Fault tolerance, vmotion. I like the fact that complex features are easy to implement.

Cons

We are pleased with all the features this product offers.

Reason for choosing vSphere

VMware vsphere is a more complete and mature product. It has a rich ecosystem like vsan, vrops that other products dont have.

### "VMware works"

October 16, 2018

5.0

vSphere was our only choice for a hypervisor because of some system requirements we had for a piece of our payroll infrastructure. However, I have grown to understand vSphere how it works, and what its quirks are.

Pros

I like how everyone supports VMware as part of my infrastructure

Cons

I don't like how heavy the VMware infrastructure needs to be. I came from a Ctrix Xen Server environment and Xen Server didn't need extra management servers and it had management redundancies built in. VMware needs an extra server (appliance) to handle the management framework and if the management appliance becomes unavailable you are out of luck.

### "VMWARE vSphere"

November 29, 2019

5.0

This allowed our small business to go virtual and was very easy to setup.

Pros

I am a network admin and I use this software often. It is very easy to use with lots of great features. They also have a great support. Upgrading is also extremely easy. Best in virtual business in my opinion.

Cons

I have nothing to complain about in this department except to get all the bells and whistles it can be really expensive.

### "Saved My Bacon!!"

May 16, 2019

5.0

Pros

The ability to migrate a live server that was having an impending raid failure to a vm saved the day for me not so long ago. In my day job, I was an IT Manager. We went from 20+ physical servers down to 4 virtual hosts. The ease of use was fantastic.

Cons

The licensising is complicated and quite expensive. However, the sky is the limit in regards to the capabilities of this platform.

### "No other hypervisor quite matches VMware"

October 3, 2019

5.0

Pros

The ease of use and the smooth interface are just a couple of the many pro's. The gui is very polished and intuitive.

Cons

With the release of 6.7 they dropped support for the vSphere Client and is now only HTML5. The browser can be more finicky and I think the client was much more reliable. However, it is greatly improved compared to version 6.5. So I have high hopes for the future.

### "The best solution, that comes at a cost"

December 14, 2018

5.0

vSphere allows you to manage your virtual machine from a central point called vCenter and move them around like they are ghosts.

Pros

It is the leading solution, that works very well and is very stable. It has lots of features that are very interesting to make you virtual machines always available.

Cons

The price of the solution can be really high as licensing is offering a step between 3 hosts and over 3 hosts.

### "VMware VSphere - Built for business"

August 7, 2019

5.0

Customer Service is good. The product is solid and doesn't seem to crash often. I was able to learn a lot since the start of virtual machines.

Pros

VMWare Vsphere is a solid virtual machine application that gets the job done. Everything you need to create, manage and maintain a virtual environment.

Cons

The only issue I have with VMware is the cost associated with licensing and their whole license structure.
