### "VMWare vSphere"

December 16, 2019

5.0

We are able to host much more software on our servers, and manage them through vSphere. This is a large savings in hardware, and increases our reliability. vSphere makes it easier & cheaper to manage the software (VMs) in our environment.

Pros

This software is easy to use and has many powerful management features for our small data center. We have been using this for years and it has been stable and reliable without issue. Once you are familiar with it, very powerful actions can be taken with a minimum number of clicks-- a real time-saver!

Cons

It can take a bit of hunting to find the settings you are looking for-- the software provides many different views so it does take some time to become familiar with the location of what you're looking for.

### "The very best Windows Server virtualizing tool!"

January 22, 2023

5.0

The software is extremely powerful and reliable, just the learning curve is very steep for new comers.

Pros

A ton of features to install and manage the virtual machines over multiple physical servers through vCentre.

Cons

More easily accessible and freely available training materials will be beneficial. Everything is heavily priced out of common man's reach.

### "Flexible virtualization platform lets you consolidate your servers"

September 14, 2018

5.0

We have consolidated our old hardware onto new, which means we have a higher density and uptime now. Our physical desktops are also virtual now, enabling our users to work from anywhere. Since everything is integrated, administration has become less time consuming than before.

Pros

The software is very stable and allows us to consolidate physical servers, while making them more highly available. It can hosts virtual desktops and applications, that can be managed through a single management interface. The compatibility with applications is better than with any other virtualzation platform.

Cons

Upgrades need to be carefully planned, because the underlying hardware may need a firmware update as well. This means dependencies. Luckily VMware has extensive documentation and compatibility matrices that help you to find out what to update first.

Cons

What conditions the use of this product is its high cost, but it is worth inventing in this powerful virtualizer.

### "VMware vSphere - The Best Virtualization Platform in the Industry"

April 26, 2022

5.0

vSphere allows for the ability to quickly and efficiently provide any number of virtual machines with a variety of configurations (hardware and/or software).

Pros

vSphere if the absolute top of the line platform for creating and managing virtual machines. It is full featured, user friendly (once learned), and rock solid.

Cons

Due to the abundance of features, there is a learning curb and it can take some time to take advantage of all the features offered.

### "Very stable and scalable"

February 1, 2019

5.0

This is a great platform that has allowed us to condense datacenters and quickly deploy servers and resources when needed.

Pros

vSphere is a great platform and allows for a highly available and agile infrastructure environment, which is what I like the most about this.

Cons

Licensing can be cumbersome and difficult to understand with several options for incorrect license purchases.

### "VMware Virtualization tool"

October 18, 2019

4.0

It was a good experience, Since installation was simple and a little bit of knowledge one can setup a virtual servers easily.

Pros

It's light weight OS, Which is very easy to load into the server. It requires very less time to setup. Once the OS is installed it can be used to create many VM's which is very helpful to separate the servers virtually.

Cons

The licencing is costly. There is no support from VMware team, in order to get things sorted out it takes much time since one has to experiment there own.

Reason for choosing vSphere

But since it's loading time is more it's not suitable. few applications were not supported on Hyperviser interface.

### "Virtualization | Manage VM ware "

November 21, 2018

5.0

V-sphere is a system of combined with VMware vSphere Storage Appliance, vSphere Data Protection, vSphere Replication and vShield Endpoint. It helps to manage the VM resources, cloud computing, remote accessing, and replication and many more features.

Pros

VMware V-sphere helps to manage VM ware infrastructure. V-sphere has to install on the server pc on the VM. Then have to configure the V-sphere and it can access using V-sphere client from the host pc. Without using V-sphere we can directly access the VMware using the ESXI platform using the IP, but it directly access through the web browser, when we use the V-sphere can access through V-sphere client and it gives many options to manage the VM.

Cons

Licensing cost is very high, and need a networking knowledge to set up the V-sphere and maintained the system.

### "Server virtualization software for enterprise deployments"

September 16, 2020

4.0

Vsphere in our environment has been setup for virtualizing the servers and desktops for VDI setup using CItrix xenapp and xendesktop which gives us great experience and easily scalable as per the organizational needs.

Pros

Vmware vsphere is a bare metal server virtualization software which is widely used by enterprises for virtualization of servers, apps and desktops. Vsphere is a top virtualization software in comparison with Microsoft Hyper-v and Citrix Xenserver and is easily scalable providing a clustered environment with high availability. VMFS is the high performance clustered file system offered by Vmware. Vsphere client is management tool using which you can manage the VM infra and is currently made available using HTML5 web client. It gives you high fault tolerance, storage vmotion and DRS for load balancing the virtual servers across the cluster and does not over load the host.

Cons

Its expensive, hard to be working with web client as it tend to become slow and upgrades are complex .

### "vSphere Management "

November 29, 2019

5.0

I've been working with vSphere as a student and as a professional for the last year. At my company, we wanted to have less downtime at our office. When we did a backup using our old system, a restore from backup would take many hours. With vSphere, we can restore a backup in minutes.

Pros

I love how easy it is to find other VMs within the network and manage them all in one location. vSphere has given us the ability to back up our VMs from a central location and it has an easy to use interface for management.

Cons

I did have some issues in setting up the software initially. When things were configured and enterprise ready, it was easy for us to control all the VMs. The cost is very expensive for small businesses.

### "An excellent virtualization platform "

February 5, 2019

4.0

Very positive - when issues have arisen their support team has been able to help very quickly and is is vary rare that the program ever develops issues.

Pros

Setting up of templates/clones is extremely simple. These tasks can be completed outside of office hours by the simple act of setting up a scheduled task. Settings can be toggled in order to allow for the addition and/or removal of RAM and CPU cores whilst the server remains active, and the addition of hard drive space is invaluable.

Cons

It is rare that I have actually come across something that has actively caused an issue within vSphere. The closest I can come to a con about the software would be that VMWare failed to corner the hosted server audience - Azure for instance is now a far more viable solution as both the licencing and the hardware can be brought from one company - had VMWare moved into this earlier I do not believe that we would be considering moving our entire infrastructure to Azure.

### "VMWare vSphere - Managing your Virtual Environment One Click at a Time"

April 17, 2019

4.0

VMWare vSphere has improved quite a lot in the last few versions, the latest version I am on right now (7.5) the HTML5 version of the web interface works very well and while it's missing features of the slow, Flash based web interface it can do everything I need day to day and does it quickly and fairly painlessly.

Pros

I use this software a dozen times a day, and I think my favorite thing is that it's very easy to create snapshots and roll back to them if I break something. We have very little downtime thanks to snapshots.

Cons

It's very complex to update. I cringe every time a support ticket leads to me having to update the environment. It's just a complex beast, requiring several different updates/files to be installed in a specific sequence, some of which can cause down time.

### "WHAT A DIFFERENCE"

November 19, 2019

5.0

I highly recommend this for small IT organizations especially. If you do many different things it is nice to have a majority of it all being down in one spot and can be done quickly and efficiently while being able to accomplish other tasks that you may encounter.

Pros

To build out a new server takes only a few minutes and it very easy to maintain being a system administrator. vSphere along with the help of vCenter ties all the administrative tasks for the Data Center in one spot so i can upgrade machines or access them via web console to patch or check the activity on them while they are running.

Cons

The configuration takes some time to get configured and set up. That was somewhat due to the internal configurations of the physical network we were migrating into the virtual environment.

### "Good product, poor portal"

August 6, 2019

4.0

I've had a 50/50 success rate with support. Sometimes they've been quite helpful and have gone out of their way to follow through. In other cases I've been given simple how-tos and an auto-closed case which leaves me replying to a 'resolved' case for a delayed response.

Pros

VMWare offers tons of functionality for managing host clusters and virtual machines. You can configure and make changes to servers, add resources as needed, mount drives, and monitor performance.

Cons

The installed client of VMWare used to be excellent. The VSphere website, however, seems to have compatibility issues and the constant time-outs can be infuriating.

### "A secure and easy to administer data center"

September 3, 2018

5.0

Pros

It really is a tool that helps you minimize effort and work; that goes from the FortiConvert that allows you to take a real server and pass it to the virtual system without tedious reinstallations, until its administration and use that are quite intuitive, since it has a clear user interface that facilitates all tasks

Cons

The costs of this very useful tool are quite high; if we compare it to other software in the same branch of services; this taking into account if you want to have all the services that comprise a virtualized datacenter and with high redundancy.

### "Vmware is best for Data Center"

May 16, 2021

5.0

previously we use various product for hypervisor and problem alot, since 2018 we start using vmware it great and we don't waste time with repair the VM anymore.

Pros

what i like the most from vmware is the features of vmotion migration and cluster when one host fail no need to worry, we can put one to maintenance and repair the fail server during working hour.

Cons

its very good already since we using it we never have the problem at all related to the vm failures.

Reason for choosing vSphere

because it the best one and the best support from the local vendor, and rarely fail at all, its around 3 years already.

### "Great security features..."

December 16, 2019

5.0

Overall, I think it is worth it, as far as pricing goes. It is a sturdy, robust product .

Pros

Excellent security features. We use this to secure all our applications at work, since it's nice to be able to run and manage across the cloud with this. Very fast , good scalability. Also, as a large company, we have tons of critical data we access every day that needs to remain secure. We need something that can handle the workload, and vSphere is wh gets it done for us.

Cons

I find that it's still not quite as secure as v13 was, but I am hoping they continue working on this.

### "Excelente Solución para virtualizacion de Servidores"

March 25, 2020

5.0

We were able to consolidate and virtualize all of our servers; vSphere takes away the daily struggles with hardware and empowers standardizing operating systems across the entire enterprise.

Pros

VMware vSphere is a superior virtualization platform. Using vSphere, we have been able to virtualize our infrsatructure, produce numberous Proof of Concepts with ease, and testing and deployment has never been easier. The software is very mature, easy to use and intuitive in it's design.

### "A necessary tool for managing your Enterprise VMWare environment easily and quickly. "

March 20, 2018

4.0

Pros

VMotion feature to move live VMs between physical virtual hosts is so slick. This feature brought virtualized computing to the next level of functionality and availability. High-Availability: vSphere takes the great value of the free ESXI vmware host offerings and makes them enterprise-grade with High-Availability and vMotion (seamlessly ) Web/thick client (end of life for thick client) consoles available for convenient access to manage your vmware environment. They are well-designed and polished. PowerCLI automation is fully unlocked when used with vSphere, a powerful tool for gathering information and taking care of bulk tasks. A must-have skillset for VMware technicians.

Cons

Pricing: It's not free, this is an enterprise solution that you must pay for, unlike ESXi virtual host software. VSphere thick client management console is end-of-life, has features and UI that I prefer over the web console.
