### "vSphere paved the way to success"

September 16, 2019

4.0

vSphere has enabled us to scale exponentially without a similarly large capital outlay. It has proven to be reliable and consistent.

Pros

vSphere has robustness with simple ease of use and equally easy deployment with great support and documentation.

Cons

vSphere tends to have slower i/o and data transfer with often heft price tags.

Reason for choosing vSphere

Cost and simplicity of deployment.

### "Complex and powerful software"

April 12, 2019

4.0

Pros

vSphere is a powerful tool to manage your virtual machines on a VCenter environment. It has tons of features if you know how to use them.

Cons

Due to its complexity it needs a lot of learning to use it. Sadly the locally installed client is no longer available and you have to use the web application which is still missing features.

### "Simple, Efficient Virtualizing"

November 2, 2018

5.0

Pros

VMware takes the complexity out of virtualization and give users a powerful, easy to use interface to manage everything in one place.

Cons

While even the free version of VMware vSphere is a powerful tool, once you start getting into multiple hosts for virtualizing, you will be limited in your abilities until you buy a license.

### "Good management tool for VMs"

December 15, 2017

5.0

Pros

Much functionality at one place. Often used things are easy to access, but also more advanced functions are available via vSphere, so no need to use console for most of advanced configurations.

Cons

No backward compatibility. To manage multiple versions of vmware farms, I have to have multiple vSphere clients installed.

### "An invaluable tool for managing your server environment "

September 18, 2018

5.0

Overall vSphere is a great product to make your server environment efficient. The competition does not compare to the ease of use and features that vSphere has to offer.

Pros

vSphere allows me to visualize my servers and save on hardware and energy costs.

Cons

I can't find any real cons with vSphere. It works well and when I have problems support is great.

### "vSphere makes managing virtual infrastructure so easy!"

July 30, 2018

5.0

Pros

\- Simple and easy to use interface - Very powerful. Comes equipped with tons of features - Entire virtual infrastructure ranging from configuring and deploying VMs can be done quickly (depending on the skill level) within minutes. - New HTML5 interface can be used to manage VMs from cell phones.

Cons

\- Contains so many features that it can be quite intimating even for an inexperienced professional to keep up with the latest releases. VMWare does provides ample of KBs and forums to address this, but many a times, answer is not readily available or it is very difficult to find from docs. This process can be very confusing. - Very expensive - Licensing model can be hard to understand.

### "It is the most talented platform for virtualization environments."

May 19, 2019

5.0

It is the most widely used virtualization platform in the world. We use this product in our own institution. Failover Cluster license is available. We are also replicating to the other DRC environment. Virtualization solution in terms of flexibility, redundancy, integration compatibility, quality management and performance in terms of features that make admin happy.

Pros

The most widely used virtualization platform. Therefore, it is the virtualization platform with the most integration support. The fact that we can successfully integrate all other products is very satisfying.

Cons

Installation of the product and user experience in the administrative sense is more difficult than other platforms. It would be better to facilitate this sense.

### "A Great Option for Managing Your VMs"

December 19, 2018

5.0

I've been using VMware Vsphere for over 6 months and before that I didn't have a lot of exposure to Virtualization. It's a really great and necessary feature for any partially IT-based company these days and Vsphere manages to make it simple enough for most users while providing enough features to make it a worthwhile venture to invest in. Vsphere is a great tool for beginners and advanced users alike. I've set up and managed multiple VMs by now and have used multiple platforms to do it (the only other comparable option being Oracle's VirtualBox), and by far Vsphere would be my go to platform. It allows for an easy interface to manage your VMs resources, allows for taking VM snapshots (in case you kerflunkle your VM), allows you to directly interface with the VM through a console, and so much more. When the licensing police come knocking, though, it's a bit of a task to gather all of the required documentation for their audit, so be ready for that. Other than that Vsphere is a great option if you're looking to use a virtualization platform.

Pros

Easy to use, supports multiple VMs, able to manage VM resources easily

Cons

Licensing can be a bit tricky, although it's not much of a problem if your needs don't change a whole lot.

Cons

in order for you to centrally manage all ur hosts, you will need Vcenter which is additional but totally worth it.

### "Best in class enterprise virtualization software"

June 11, 2020

4.0

If you want the best VM software and you have the budget, choose vSphere.

Pros

The best reason to choose VMware is for its industry leading performance and stability. There are workloads that have been running for decades on VMware. This is the most performant, stable, and secure virtualization software on the market. The management software has come a long ways, with vCenter and vRealize suites becoming much more useable. We also leverage the GPU slicing feature which is unique to VMware due to the Nvidia partnership. Support is also top-notch with high response SLA.

Cons

The biggest con is cost, VMware simply costs A LOT. They tend to throw everything (compute, storage, networking, management) in a large bundle with an enormous per-CPU cost. If you have a constrained budget, it will be a challenge to make everything fit. Also the vendor lock-in is very strong. Even though you can move VMware workloads to public cloud, they are still running on VMware infrastructure in the public cloud datacenter. So workloads aren't really portable.

Our most virtual servers on it, and we can use about 50 virtual servers with a physical server.

Pros

Stable and easy to use. Also, I like mostly host or Storage vmotion without interruption

Cons

ESXi hosts mostly stable but sometimes it can get pink screen like Windows blue screen. And rarely we can't find root cause.

### "The defacto standard for a virtualization platform. All other virtualization solutions look to it."

April 2, 2018

5.0

We trust this platform to run 97% of our servers.

Pros

VMWare's vSphere platform is very mature, and supports ties to all aspects of the computing landscape. VMWare continuously innovates with new features and functionalities. This is the most stable and well supported route for on premise hosting.

Cons

Tier 1 support is terrible. I've had two support cases where my first contact didn't even know what the product was (vCenter Server Support Assistant) Suffer through till higher tiers and they will fix your issue, but if it isn't down expect it to take a minimum of days. Cost for addons such as NSX, SRM, vSAN can be very steep. Licensing can easily outcost your hardware.

### "Virtualized environments in a click of a button"

September 22, 2018

5.0

Pros

Although the company i work for has moved away from using vmware, I will review as part of vSphere as i still use personal version for my VMs. vSphere has two amazing uses namely, spinning up duplicate test environments for students writing on site tests with monitoring. vSphere is also amazing for test environments for our applications to be deployed to before releasing via build servers to a production environment. Software uses minimal memory apart from values set per environment on each PC. load and performance testing seems to kill environments though.

Cons

If not configured correctly, virtual environments created may hang for a long time . Needs fine-tuning before any deployment to be used for tests to replicate live environments. This takes a lot of resource time . Have sometimes found that Windows hypervisor sometimes requires re-enablement after multiple restarts without starting up vSphere suite. This was found to happen if hypervisor was started during the install process.

### "VMware vSphere for Virtual Server deployment"

October 18, 2021

5.0

Our overall experience with VMware vSphere is good. We have configured & deployed our secure applications over it & managing it with nodes points.

Pros

We are using VMware vSphere for virtual server deployment & secure application deployment. We have configured network nodes & hosts according to our infrastructure requirements & also managing it with esxi hosts. It also provides us real-time monitoring solution with secure patch updates & advance configuration of servers. VMware vSphere is also provides database management & resource pool management.

Cons

We are using VMware vSphere from last few years & the only issue we found with it during the Virtual machine migration services.
