Certain matches take longer than others to be received. My organization receives corporate donations through Cybergrants, and it is difficult to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I always wince when I see a donation from a new source. If it's less than $100, I often ignore it. I need to create and maintain multiple accounts (one for each corporate entity using Bonterra Cybergrants). There are unnecessary hurdles to even log in to an existing account. I'm a three-woman shop, it's just not worth it. Please use another donation distribution platform. It's a recurring nightmare. Would not recommend to anyone, but unfortunately many corporations still work with Cybergrants so nonprofits are at their mercy. If you're researching this platform for your Corporate responsibility projects, please avoid this at all costs. We beg you. There are much better options out there... Pros The main pro is that they connect fundraisers to corporations. Also there is little monetary cost to nonprofits to receive funds, but time spent to get those funds far outweighs fees. Cons Just about everything on this platform is a con. When you sign up for Cybergrants, you're signing up to do the same verifications EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Whether you log in 1 time or 20 times in a day to verify matching donations, you will have to go through a multi-step process to reconfirm your contact information. Also there are portals for each individual company that works with cybergrants so you will have to re-enter your contact and org info for each one individually. Then agree to the same terms and conditions. Our org information doesn't change depending on the company that's donating to us, but we still have to re-enter it and reconfirm it each time. It's just so inefficient. Then they deposit each and every donation as a separate transaction to your bank statement. Batch disbursements do no exist here. Huge waste of time and energy. Least efficient platform I've seen and I work with dozens on a weekly basis. Reasons for choosing Bonterra CyberGrants Nonprofits don't get to choose. It's chosen by Corporations who have no idea what kind of burden they are placing on nonprofit organizations by choosing this product. Pros It’s all online, but it’s still not convenient Cons not clear how front door and cyber grants interacts. Have to manage multiple account logins that do not talk to one another across. Even more confusing when CyberGrants is being used by another organization for matching gifts and grant management. Slow response time in setting up accounts. As I'm typing into the form, it keeps track of my characters and alerts me when I have become a bit too long-winded. It is so much easier to use than a paper version of an application AND I can never submit an incomplete application. This prevents me from accidentally forgetting something, which is a real possibility in paper form. Cons It can be tricky to work through the sections if you don't have every piece of information all at once. Sometimes I can simply select the category along the top row while other times I have to fill in a placeholder until I have the needed information. This is hard when a team is working on the components of a proposal and I'm waiting on a piece of information from another team member while I work on other sections. Cons CyberGrants can involve many "clicks" to get what you want done. The interfaces are customizable but can often look dull.
