Comments: This is a simple program to learn the basics of with a multitude of options. The user interface is very straight forward. It is mostly all encompassing as far as ERP systems go. The options are plentiful, but sometimes lengthy to find. Extra seats are economical. A good tool for a small business trying to track quote to cash.

Pros: Clear user interface Many options Customizable documents

Cons: Some options buried a bit

Recommendations to other buyers: Shop around before pulling the trigger on this type of software.

Pros: This product has helped our company run efficiently by improve our manufacturing process in real-time and giving us a central location where we input our companies data. The reports that we use in Profitkey allow us to see a clear picture of the data we enter on a daily basis which helps keep our company organized and in return helps us improve the quality of our company. Profitkey support is also very helpful. Their support always replies to our questions in a timely manner and helps us sort out any issues we run into.

Cons: Profitkey is open to taking suggestions which they implement into future updates. That means if there is anything that you dislike about their software they are willing to listen and fix the issues in the future.

Recommendations to other buyers: If your company is looking to manage and improve the manufacturing process in real-time this software is perfect for your company.

Pros: The ProfitKey software covers every essential aspect of our business from quoting to getting the product out the door on time. The staff always responds promptly to any need we have and they are genuinely invested in helping us in any way possible. It is customer service the way it was meant to be. That aspect is important to any business but critical to small businesses. There are a lot of aspects to love about this software. Having a demo database that we can update at any moment to duplicate our live database is an excellent tool when exploring how some changes might affect operations without taking any risks in the live database. I am able to attach work instructions, pictures, and videos directly to an operation for clarification purposes - an awesome tool in ISO risk management. No more white boards or hot lists, the scheduler can be changed and updated so the people have up-to-the moment information on which jobs should run next from their MES components. ProfitKey's off-site backup service, in addition to my own backup practices, gives me peace of mind knowing we have knowledgeable people protecting our data. And perhaps as important as any other aspect, ProfitKey has an active user group that keeps the continual improvement ideas flowing.

Cons: If there was anything I could change, it would be to have a printed help book because I'm a book person. But their online help files are good.

Recommendations to other buyers: There are other shop software products out there but there are none that are as integrated throughout the shop nor are there any that are more thorough or solid. Certainly the customer service can't be beaten. Information and peace of mind are priceless!

Pros: This ERP system is deeply integrated with a complete range of functional modules that all work in concert. Our company uses all of the core modules and the product is deeply integrated into every aspect of our operations. ProfitKey is a great company to work with and they are very responsive to our needs. There technical support team is first rate.

Cons: For a long time I considered the user interface to be clunky but this has improved dramatically with the releases of the past few years. Still, they system could use some interface designs that tie the data from various modules in one seamless view.

Recommendations to other buyers: The key is to assess the type of manufacturing to be modeled and make a comprehensive check list of what is required in a system. Then get a thorough demo of the software that will show to what extent it fits the needs of the business.

Pros: Profit Key has great training tools such as webex topic sessions, a ticket system supported by engineers who intimately know the product and can help users with their particular issues, and Application Engineers who can come to your facility and train your users one on one. The Application Engineers develop relationships with the users and knowledge of your company so they know the best way to help you use the product.

Cons: Profit Key is always on the cutting edge of new development and modules to help companies move forward more efficiently. I'd love to see them have dedicated engineers for enhancements/developments of existing modules.

Recommendations to other buyers: Meet with an application engineer and visit/or talk a facility with that is using Profit Key. They will immediately see similar benefits of using Profit Key that they can have as well!

Pros: The support from the ProfitKey personnel has been timely and complete. Our suggestions are reviewed, and if supported by the user base, they are incorporated into the product in a timely manner.

Cons: Ownership has changed a few times in recent years, slowing the positive progress and momentum in enhancing the product.

Recommendations to other buyers: The investment into establishing an ERP system is substantial. A key cost that is hard to establish is the support you will receive from the supplier during implementation. Without qualified assistance, your company can spend money in the wrong direction that will have a financial impact from many years to come and cause frustration with the product. For a small-to-midsize company, the investment in the ProfitKey personnel is a key factor in evaluating other products.
