It has a nice layout, self explanatory.

Cons

To start with the transition from Avimark to ImproMed was a mess- our server arrived without all the necessary information which required our trainer to focus on that during a time we were to receive training. Lab equipment has not communicated with software consistently since the install which was 4/2018. As you can imagine learning a new system when you did not have the appropriate time to be trained can be difficult- their customer support WAS really bad during that time, it has gotten better but I have also had to figure out so much using youtube that I really just do not call them unless I have to. There is no spell check as you go along, you have to type then check it. It refreshes but bumps you out of where you were looking so you have to start all over again. Every now and then it will glitch and bump the date along the right lower side of the screen back to 1900 - so as you are trying to look up soaps and medical records there isn't anything there. Low qty items do not auto populate to the want list. Inventory is not easy to understand and it is easy to make mistakes that throw off your counts. Intelligent inventory was exciting but I was talked out of that by an ImproMed support person so... the spreadsheet is a mess to try and use- very easy to make a mistake for price increases.

### "Impromed"

Overall it was wonderful. Towards the end it was hard to use but that was because our hardware was extremely old and we couldn't update to the newest version without buying all new hardware which the practice owner couldn't afford to do. BUT that said, the functionality we had was great.

Pros

Just to start - Our practice USED to use Impromed Infinity - in 2016 we changed to Cornerstone due to budgetary concerns of our practice owner. That said, I miss infinity. It was so much easier to use, I hate having to tab through Cornerstone for everything. Infinity had a written script option, I could (with password protection) change invoices from one doctor to another, we could do year over year by month reports of inventory. The boarding module was spectacular, I feel like with CS I am back in the stone age. I loved it.

Cons

The only thing I can remember having issues with, was some of the reporting functions that the owner wanted. Client retention etc. But otherwise the modules were great. I also absolutely loved the message center - I am in charge of client billing and that is where I stored all of my notes on the different issues I had.

### "Very Click Heavy but Easy to Use"

Overall I do like the software. Once you get used to its nuances it works well for the veterinary environment. It links with the commonly used labs (Idexx and Antech). We have also had it link with our appointment reminder system (PetDesk) and our online pharmacy (Covetrus). These functions help save time for CSR's and nurses as they do not have to confirm every appointment or write in every external script.

Pros

There are 3 ways to do the same thing. This makes it easy for people who process procedures differently.

Cons

Setting up some of the background items like the scheduled blocks or inventory can be confusing at first. The schedule will also delete reoccurring appointments for no reason. Customer support has gone downhill since 2017.

### "Very useful if running a 2-location practice."

Overall, good experience. The fact that we have a satellite location that must remote connect to our main server brings up the most challenges, but this software allows you to do almost anything you can think of. There is a bit of learning curve, but once you are past that, the rest is pretty intuitive. Customer service has improved recently and we get any questions addressed pretty quickly.

Pros

We chose this software because it was one of the only ones (non-cloud based) that could allow me to access both of my locations in the same place.

Cons

It takes a lot of clicks to complete tasks. Medical Records is also very busy.

When I got Impromed it was CompCare (1980's) and the experience was good. Tech support is my biggest complaint now. Overall the program is okay.

Pros

A lot of the program is not user friendly and intuitive. My biggest critique is the degradation of support since Covetrus took over. Hold times are improving but often not ideal. Usually the Tier One techs don't know much or at least enough to solve the problem. One has to wait for a call back from an analyst which may be a day or two wait. It's now more difficult to send support a message. It is no longer as simple as sending an email. Now you have to go the website and fill in a form. Putting in an online request for support is a joke. They MIGHT call you back in a day or two. Chat is usually worthless. Another problem since they took over is that they dropped the mobile app which I used daily.

Cons

Tech. Support. Impossible to program label formats without support doing it for us. Long hold times which are getting better.

Very frustrating. The system is always glitching and programming it to fit our needs is constantly met with road blocks. The poor functionality makes it so that a hospital NEEDS to pay for their tech support in order to keep it functioning at the most basic level. Tech support is a very frustrating process as most of the technicians know less about the program than me, and offer little to no solutions, are not great about following up. Using this program is the most frustrating part of my staff and doctor's day, which should not be the case. You should take a look at VCA's Woof ware and get with the times. I plan on purchasing another hospital and will NOT be using impromed at that location.

Pros

It provides the basic functionality that a hospital requires.

Cons

It is archaic in nature and is lagging in upgrades. There are far better, more user friendly and intelligent software available. If we didn't already put so much money into this program we would have already invested in another option.

From preinstall preparation to use over the past 8+ years, we have been pretty happy with Impromed. You have some of the nicest tech support people and it's a pleasure to work with them. Since this was a new practice, we had no database conversion to deal with thankfully!

Pros

Generally very intuitive to use. The financial reports generated are great to use. (now if I could get the team to balance at the end of day, I'd be doing good!)

Cons

The Inventory Module needs serious revamping: The out of stock bin in the inventory module is a waste of time as it affects the total inventory value and you have to go digging to find the issue. The Inventory Category report needs to be accessible at any time after the close of the month. Currently if you miss printing it you're out of luck. Everything else seems to be date dependent...not Inventory. Also needs a count sheet for when performing a large scale inventory count without killing a ton of trees. Not everyone has a bar code reader ( or needs one) but there's not a count sheet that doesn't include it. Also there needs to be a way to "hide" products no longer in use or in the hospital so that you are only looking at active inventory in ALL THE REPORTS. I can go on, but you get the idea

Fantastic.

Pros

The software is so easy to learn because it's Windows based. New staff members can navigate around with no problem within one day. The software is completely customizable to each practice. Templates can be added/deleted as needed. Tech support is always friendly and able to assist. Rarely do we have to wait on hold and rarely can they not solve the problem.

Cons

The software is so vast and has so many features that sometimes I feel I am under-utilizing it. Sometimes features are used at set-up and used rarely after that, so tech support is needed to remember how to use these features.

I liked that it did itemize everything for the inventory manager. it made it easy for them to see how stock was .

It was very slow. Each software update didn't really help with making it quick/ easy to use.

I am very pleased that we chose Impromed. From installation and initial training to ongoing technician help, it has been a great experience.

Pros

This software is easy to use. When it was first installed there was a rather steep learning curve for us since no one in the office had used it - but it was worth it! There is so much included in the program to make day to day tasks easier and the program is always getting better with the upgrades. The Inventory Module is one of my favorite. It is also nice that there are different ways to through the system depending on the task. The help desk is fantastic! When I call in with a question or problem it is usually handled with the first phone call. I believe the best experience I had was when the computer had a hard shut down (due to my error!). It happened at night, but Impromed had us up and running using the back up by mid-morning the next day! The technicians are very helpful and polite. I am very pleased with ImproMed.

Cons

A better inter-office chat system would be nice. Also, I find that the Communication/Search module is a bit cumbersome. Lastly, I seldom find what I am looking for when using the Help - Contents/Index/Search section.

Once you get used to the interface, it is usable but there are lots of screens to navigate and billing is not intuitive. Many drop downs and screens to perform simple tasks

Impromed Triple crown was sold as the natural step from DVM manager which was being discontinued. Many promises were made regarding mobile apps, improved billing processes and actual price for the install - all promises were broken or fell short. No recourse and support has been brutal

### "Overall great product"

Excellent. Since our upgrade (video lessons were sent) I have sometimes had 2 or 3 questions per day, the support staff is quick to get back to me if they are not immediately available, and always very pleasant. We have also had some integrations that have gone smoothly with their help.

Pros

We have been using this product for over 10 years now. We have always been happy with the easy of maintenance, and use. We recently updated to the newer version of the program and are still getting used to the changes. There is a lot more security, as an owner I appreciate this. We do use the appointment scheduler and one of the upgrades now helps to prevent two people from scheduling appointments at the same time.

Cons

I think the easytime appointment scheduler has been the most difficult to adapt to, it is difficult to look quickly for an available time slot, because it does not give you a view of entire day. We used to use current invoices tab to help locate clients coming to pick up meds. Unfortunately it is alphabetized by owners first name not their last, and if a spouse picks up it makes it more difficult to locate for billing out.

Excellent. Customer service is vital to the software running properly and Impromed has excellent support staff.

Pros

Impromed handles all of our software needs and was the only company that could supply the technology we needed for our multi-practice business in 2004.

Cons

Training is essential. New employees take a little time to learn the software. There are several ways to get to the same location and that is difficult for some to grasp.

Pros

I appreciate all of Impromed's reports, forms and tools. It helped build our practice over the 5 year span that we used it. However Impromed is very difficult and tedious to navigate. It was difficult to invoice. We constantly had to jump from Patient Processing to Medical Records. We had many missed charges. It was difficult to train new employees how to use. There are too many options for how to do a simple task. Impromed is not a modern software. In this profession we have to adapt to constant change and continue to grow. To do this our practice elected to move to a progressive cloud based software. For us we choose Neo from Idexx. It is easy to use and our team loves it. It has also reduced our missed charges and provided a better workflow. Highly recommend a cloud based software over Impromed.

Cons

\-Large program that offers many options but becomes too tedious to use -Poor customer service. Long hold times. They constantly would send it to a senior tech that would then call us back a week later.

### "Advantage Veterinary software review"

Been using Advantage since 2003 and love/recommend it. Reasonably priced initial outlay and monthly fees, although updates are rare now. Not thrilled since Covetrus took over the billing. No return envelope included, no tear off bill, now bills printed in black and white, suspect $$ issues. I pay 2 months at a time, but ALWAYS get a second bill for the month I already paid (in spite of being told that would be addressed)

Pros

Very easy to set up and use for large or small practices. Tech support almost always available and helpful. Does everything I need for this small practice and has volumes more available for bigger businesses.

Cons

Occasionally get a tech person who is less than ideal.

### "We Love Impromed"

We have used ImproMed for about 7 years. We switched to the program from KennelSuite, which did not have enough features to manage all of the services we offer (boarding, grooming, training, group play). Overall it's been a great experience and the program meets our needs.

Pros

We are a pet resort, rather than a vet clinic, so our needs are different. We were able to customize the program to meet our needs and we find it very versitile.

Cons

I wish ImproMed would update some of the features to be more boarding friendly (better tasks and reporting options for feeding, medication, and play times). Customer service has suffered since they were bought out by Covetrus. I used to call and get someone immediately who was knowledgeable and could help me. Now every time I call I get someone who does what I've already done to try and solve the issue. Then I get bumped up to a higher level of support and have to wait for a call back. That's my biggest issue right now.

In addition to a pet resort, we also have two vet clinics. Using ImproMed allowed us to install it at three places so we use the same program. It also did more than the other programs we looked at.

Multiple attempts at working with the software support has proven useless. Lots of Lip service. No real Service.

Pros

Very flexible with lots of modules. Once you learn it (which takes a while) it can be very useful

Cons

Cumbersome. Many keystrokes needed to accomplish one simple task. The “help” section is outdated and not very useful when trying to customize the software. Customer support is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a good tech and sometimes you get one that will cause more harm than good. Also very poor follow up with problems

I have had nothing but a horrible experience from ImproMed.

Pros

I can't see any pros about this software, users complain about it on the daily.

Cons

This company is a sham! They continue to get bought by bigger and bigger companies, ImproMed Infinity is now just a sliver what they offer. The support is by far the worst I have seen, worse than Microsoft! If you run into an issue don't expect it to be fixed, if someone says they need to call you back don't expect a call back. When it comes to someone managing your account, that doesn't exist. Your only line to this company is through their horrible support department. WARNING this company will try and sell you hardware, IT support all the while ignoring anything that isn't part of their suite. They sell white box servers, well over the price of what you would pay for a real server from Dell. If you want to buy only the software don't expect them support to performance issues even if your hardware is better than what they would sell. They know nothing about the other essential technology that runs your business. Stay away if you can! They software itself looks like Microsoft Office 2007, the interface is old and extremely outdated.

Overall it's not a bad program and if the inventory had been easier to use and had it still been supported since it got bought out, I would have kept it as a new business owner (bought an established practice).

Pros

I've used Impromed for over 10 years. Having just switched away from it the one thing I miss the most is little and that was the ability to schedule multiple pets in the same appointment slot.

Cons

The entering of inventory is too tedious.

### "Impromed for Dummies"

Reports are great and easy. Our inventory control is reliable and it is easy to spot problems. Client communication is improved.

Pros

I purchased this software with the intent of going paperless for medical records and at the time Impromed was the best one available for this - it has the capability of doing do much stuff that we would use every day. The common reports available are easy to access and if there is a report or a search that we would like to do, impromed comes up with a search that works for us. Inventory management is complex but once mastered is a tremendously powerful tool.

Cons

Whenever we have a windows 10 update (not optional as to time or place) come through, it tends to either crash our server or cause problems with all of our printers and other connections. Other than that, we rarely have issues with the software.

Pros

This software is kind of hard to use and get used to, I switched from Avimark and still prefer Avimark, Impromed is a lot of steps to get one thing done, but I do like that everything requires initials, that way if there is an error it is easy to find who is involved.

Cons

It is very difficult to refill medications, in avimark you were able to refill straight from the chart by right clicking and hitting "refill" impromed is a little more difficult. It is also hard to change any errors with patient processing and refunds are also multiple unnecessary steps. It took me a long time to get used to impromed. I also dislike that all appointments are the same color, in Avimark everything was color coded so you knew which appointments were vaccines, which ones were sick, which ones were euthanasia's and things of that nature, with impromed if you don't hover over every appointment you don't know what they are being seen for.

### "Great functionality but.... "

When Impromed was a stand alone company, things were great. When they were purchased by Henry Schein, they started to decline on technical support and have gone completely into the toilet ever since it became Covetrus. The front line tech support folks need a lot of help. If you are fortunate enough to catch an analyst, life is good... it's just a fight to get to them. Support needs to be more responsive when a practice is not functional because the software is not working as it is supposed to. Having to schedule a support call next week does not help keep a business open at all.

Pros

The software is somewhat intuitive and easy to use. There are many features that we have yet to discovery or figure out how to use. There are some quirks but don't we all?

Cons

It would be really helpful to be able to have a CLIENT record separate from their pet's records. Many communications with clients pertain to all their pets and not just one. Placing notes in the client record would make it easier than entering for each individual pet.

More important question should be - if I had it to do over again, would I choose Impromed again? Absolutely not. Knowing what we know now, I have to believe another company would likely be more responsive and reliable.

I have used several software systems , this is by far the most expensive and most cumbersome to work with.,

Pros

Ability to restrict products/ services to age or species. The census. Customizable admin log in with associated tabs.

Cons

Difficult to navigate - many things take way too many steps in different areas. Invoicing is cumbersome because you have to type each thing in instead of selecting multiple items in one round.

I have had excellent customer service with Impromed. I also have been very happy with the software. We almost fully utilize the software and having Impromed as a tool for our hospital has helped streamline and made us more efficient. The financial reports are also very helpful for practice management. I have also been impressed with the updates that the software undergoes to provide improvements to the software.

This software has been integral in our transition to a paperless medical record system. This software has depth that allows for customization for each hospital's processing. It also has great integration with other systems such as laboratories and payment processing.

Cons

Due to the depth of the software some complexity is expected. This software is not plug and play and for proper use will require a significant time investment to utilize all of the offerings. That being said, you can piecemeal how you utilize the variety of options until you have everything set up for the way your hospital wants to use the software. The training offerings are also helpful in learning about the various modules. I would recommend having a key person who is comfortable with computer software usage to be the key person.
