Pros I get the reports I need for VMG without too much difficulty Cons Too many clicks to accomplish some tasks. Need more easy customization of reports. Report interface for searching specific questions (ie: how many dogs in the last 2 years) are very awkward to use. Should have EVERY report needed for VMG as a preset button. Need to have more financial reports available. There have been some hiccups over the years but overall I trust this software and rely on its functionality every day. I hope that they continue to develop this platform to meet all of our needs. Pros What I like most about Impromed is the ability to customize just about everything to get the software to work best for your work-flow. Cons What I like least about Impromed is that many of the work-arounds to get the software to work the way you want it to are not intuitive and often interfere with some of the other functions/capabilities. Our previous software was very outdated and Impromed was a big step up for us. Upgrades have been easy to schedule and get done so far. We have purchased quite a few more workstations from Impromed directly and that is always seamless. Cons Setting up to be paperless was not easy. Some things could be a little more intuitive. We were told our software couldn't be fixed unless we upgraded the hardware but we would not have to upgrade the software. When we did that we ran into extensive problems and were told the only way to fix that was to upgrade the software, spending thousands more than we were quoted. We upgraded the software, but we still have problems and support never seems to know how they set up the system. Pros This is an upgrade of a software program we have been using for 15 years. It has very good functionality, we use the inventory and boarding modules quite extensively, as well as the appointment scheduler and invoice processing modules. Some of the improvements have been quite helpful. Cons There seem to be a lot of bugs in the program. We are constantly calling support because our mobile unit or printers keep getting dropped from the program. The support personnel never seem to be able to explain or fix the problem without kicking it up to a senior analyst. It is very frustrating. We almost never called support during the preceding 15 years. Reason for choosing Covetrus Impromed It was what we had previously been using, so it was going to be faster and cheaper that an entirely new system. Originally the support had been excellent and is what sold the product, but lately communication with support is a headache. There are a lot of ways to do things and many ways to customize options. You have a ton of control of your inventory, products, and medical records. There are a lot of paths to the same destination so everyone can find ways they are comfortable with. Cons There is a steep learning curve for both the user and the set-up. It can be very overwhelming. Set-up of a new module or new portion of the program can take hours to even figure out if you can use it the way you want to use it. I’ve only been using it for about 9 months but I already feel comfortable and knowledgeable. Much better than other systems I’ve used. Cons The forms could be easier to create. The customer service team has been helpful when I run into issues and the iCAN community is great but making the forms feels very clunky compared to the rest of the software. Hard to get a live human after about 10am. Person you get may be very knowledgeable or may know little. May also indicate they know what they are talking about and then waste hours of your time. On the weekend. And then they aren’t available until Monday. Pros I wish I could think of something but I can’t. Cons Ease of finding things, it is hard to trouble shoot or determine where something has gone wrong. Setting up something simple like a new product or procedure takes multiple steps in different places. It is slow. Doesn’t integrate well with a lot. Pros Simplifies our daily hectic environment, especially during this past year with curbside service, on less ting to worry about! Cons I wish when we do forms and notes for the pets we see, that they will save automatic instead when next person come if you forgot to save - your notes are gone and there no way of retrieving it. It's easy to use, great support when we have questions, and has all the features we need for running the clinic. Pros I really appreciate the support for this product. Every time I have called in or done a live chat, the support person is knowledgeable, professional, and helps resolve the issue quickly. I find Impromed to be on of the more user friendly and intuitive programs I've used, it's still really nice to have assistance with any questions that pop up. Month end reports we have to go into these reports multiple times to get what we need - can't print by type, category, and profit center without going through all reports again. Cannot print individual statements anytime during the month - in order to send a corrected statement. Will charge interest and not give a discount on certain statements sporadically. Cannot easily see how much one client spent in one year and send them this information. There was nothing they could do about it. We lost 10 years worth of patient records and had to start over fresh. Imagine our and our client’s frustration! Pros There are so many ways to set up Impromed to meet your practice's needs. You can customize almost everything to be what you need it to be. Use of bundles with charges saves times, Inventory is a easy to manage and understand. Everything is automatically time stamped and dated which is great for Medical Records. At the time it was a privately owned company and innovative. The division no longer innovates, and they seem to lack resources when trying too reach them. Very little effort is spent modernizing the software. Pros Very thorough in tracking client transactions and appointments. The program has good data tracking features. Cons Outputs forms that are not customizable and very ugly. NO remote access via the web or app (the app offers some access to client but very limited), not a lot of useful integration features, no mobile version.
