The functions are easy to understand and the "help" for this software explains pretty much all of its functions very well. Overall a good software for business simulations. Cons It does not run very well unless you're using a nice computer. If I open it up on a laptop it is extremely slow and lags; almost impossible to use. However, on a desktop it runs fine so it is not a big deal. I really like the material handling for designing storage racks for my warehouse design senior project. AnyLogic has been helpful to simulate my future state designs and test their effectiveness, while watching the simulation in 3D! Cons I dislike the slowness of the software. Pros The software, once you figure it out can be really helpful, and once all is said and done, gives som really good insights into the data you’re modeling. They made it simple but useful. Pros The platform has very useful features to build a model easily. Agents and variables are not difficult to use. Cons Some variables I had to insert manually, because Anylogic couldn't do it by its own. On a recent project, we were able to simulate critical data that the client had no way of obtaining in the real world. This model would not have been possible to build if it weren't for the mixed DE-Agent paradigms which AnyLogic supports. Pros The flexibility in modeling paradigms--system dynamic, agent-based, and discrete event mechanisms can be embedded within one another. Need to model a discrete process with autonomous agents inside those process steps? No problem. The tech support and responsiveness is phenomenal, too. At times it was a tedious learning process but in all I really loved how powerful the software is.
