### "Anylogic review"

June 9, 2025

4.0

Overall, my experience with AnyLogic has been very positive. It’s an incredibly versatile tool that lets you model complex systems using agent-based, discrete event, and system dynamics methods—all in one environment. The ability to customize models with Java is a major strength, though it does come with a learning curve. Once you get past that, the level of control and flexibility is unmatched. The visual outputs are excellent for communicating results, and the cloud integration is a nice bonus for sharing models. It’s not perfect—there are UI quirks and the price is steep—but it’s a powerful platform that’s well worth the effort if you need serious simulation capabilities.

Pros

AnyLogic is incredibly versatile—being able to combine agent-based, discrete event, and system dynamics in one platform is a huge plus. The Java integration gives you full control and flexibility, and the built-in libraries save a ton of time. It's a powerful tool for complex, real-world simulations.

Cons

While AnyLogic is a powerful simulation tool, it’s not the easiest to learn—especially if you don’t have a programming background. Many advanced features require Java coding

### "Best System ever: Anylogic"

May 19, 2025

5.0

Pros

It is easy to use and has tutorials which help you learn the basic processes and follow through the work and allow one to enjoy modeling and simulations.

Cons

I believe that it would be best to have a manual/document that explains the parts in anylogic. For example: the palette parts and all their icons and what they do and when is it relevant to use them. Only that. With an example per part.

### "Railway Module USER"

May 26, 2025

5.0

It is still in learning phase and I still can not run my model, you should know the JAVA for most of the task or at least be familiar with it.

Pros

I am doing my research and I am taking advantage of the free student module in Railway Industry Maintenance Facilities (OMFs)

Cons

Learning the software is very challenging, and the lack of resources and very expensive training offers is definitely intolerable for the academic sector.

Response from The AnyLogic Company

May 29, 2025

Hi Daniel, thanks for your review! You're right—advanced AnyLogic models may need Java, but you can also build simple models using the graphical interface. To dive deeper, we suggest the “AnyLogic in Three Days” textbook, Rail Library guide, and Hump Yard tutorial—all available in the Help and Resources sections on anylogic.com. You can also explore ready-made models on AnyLogic Cloud. For coding, the "Learn Java for AnyLogic!" blog post is a great place to start.

### "Anylogic Modernization"

April 14, 2025

4.0

It has been good. I have used it for a few months now and believe it is a good idea but just needs some updating.

Pros

I like the ease of it and how it feels like I can really create a full sim of a real world place. Like a store.

Cons

I don’t like how outdated it is. It feels like it was made to run on window 7 and hasn’t been updated. It lags horribly when I have any other tab open. It needs some serious modernization for quality and to also improve the looks of it.

### "Review on AnyLogic"

June 24, 2025

5.0

Overall my experience was very good, I am very pleased with AnyLogic and i would recommend it to friends and colleagues. Preety self explanatory to what the problem was.

Pros

Many different examples to take inspiration from and understand some things, the libarby and explanation for every block was very helpful, user friendly environment, easy to use even for begginers, great tutorials.

Cons

I believe that some of the examples should be included in the tutorials, because for what i wanted to do i had found examples, but couldn't fully understand them.

### "Experiencia AnyLogic"

January 12, 2026

5.0

### "Powerful and Versatile Simulation Tool for Students"

May 19, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience with AnyLogic was positive. It was a powerful tool for my studies, allowing me to simulate real-world systems with a high level of detail. It helped me understand complex processes much better through visualization and experimentation

Pros

I liked the flexibility AnyLogic provides in modeling different types of systems, from discrete events to agent-based and system dynamics models. The drag-and-drop interface and built-in libraries made it easy to visualize processes, and the ability to customize logic with Java was a great plus

Cons

The learning curve can be quite steep for beginners, especially if you don’t have prior experience with simulation or Java. Some documentation could be clearer, and error messages were sometimes hard to interpret.

### "AnyLogic App"

April 7, 2025

5.0

I used this application to define how pedestrians can find their way in a house building, also to what extent they move closer to each other. But I want to mention that there should be a graphical indication rather than creating or dealing with entering information into a complicated graph-creating input. After creating a simulation, I tried to create a graphical indication, but because of graphics creation, I could not do so. And, also İf there is some education for it and a certificate with a priceless course. Please let me know. Sincerely.

Pros

AnyLogic is a useful application to see how pedestrians can prospectively move both in outdoor and indoor areas. And that application can decide to what extend they move closer to each other.

Cons

The AnyLogic application works with an easy wayfinding method. However, when I experienced and used that application, I saw that, that not take into concideration the prospectivity of movement without easy wayfinding. Because humans do not completely move by using the shortest way or the easiest way when they enter or exit a place. That also should be considered.

### "Friendly, flexible modelling software"

May 1, 2025

5.0

Overall, I've enjoyed my experience with AnyLogic. It's generally a friendly interface that offers flexibility in modelling.

Pros

The thing I like most about AnyLogic is its flexibility, in that it supports multiple modelling paradigms (discrete-event/agent-based/system dynamics) within a single modelling software. This allows for highly customizable and realistic simulations that can closely mirror complex real-world systems. It is difficult, in theory to find softwares that can simulate agent behaviours in particular, and AnyLogic does a good job at making it accessible.

Cons

The learning curve is a bit steep, especially for new users. The interface can feel unintuitive as it appears outdated. Reliance on Java programming for more advanced functions can be daunting for those without a coding background.

### "Anylogic review: College Student"

May 20, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with anylogic was positive, and I truly felt like I learned a lot about simulation. I used anylogic for a college class and really enjoyed seeing my projects being turned into something feasible and realistic.

Pros

It’s usability for new users who don’t have much experience with simulation software, especially college students.

Cons

What I liked least about anylogic was how sometimes the runtime errors weren’t very descriptive as to what the issue was.

### "Great Experience"

February 11, 2025

5.0

I like it. Right now im using to simulate an hydraulic plant for my thesis. Its usefull because im using the SD and AB at the same time to simulate the water flow, and the water demand from people. I like the lots of library it's too, from pedestrian, fluids, traffics, etc.

Pros

The possibility to work with AB-SD-DE at the same time. Its usefull to have from low level abstraction to high level abstraction

Cons

It's not recognized. Find tutorials or books abouts certains simulations and how it works it's hard

### "Anylogic as a Simulation Tool in Logistics"

July 23, 2025

5.0

In all I rellay like the functions of anylogic, its fun to lean and "try and error" your own simulation models. But sometimes ist difficult if you dont how to solve a problem. the anylogic help + cloud is great but not that easy to find the right solution to your problem soemtimes, cause of the amount of funcionalities

Pros

easy starter concept but possibilty to model complex Logistic systems. I really loce the amount of different opprtunities to finish your task

Cons

more tutorials fordifferent block would be helpful, new "how-to" videos for busines cases. Maybe a mothly trial for premium for students like me :)

My experience has been pretty good, but it could use some more support in command lines. (Like Excel does)

Pros

It provides a great deal of very useful tutorials as well as a lot of excellent resources to help navigate.

Cons

Creating models can be a bit confusing at times, specifically when typing in code lines in order to define the behavior of your model and surrounding aspects.

Hello Sawyer, Thank you for your feedback. For help with Java code, try the built-in Code Completion Master (Ctrl + Space / Option + Space). It shows all model variables and functions, similar to Excel suggestions. To support learning, we offer example models, training courses, and a Java basics section. Hope this helps!
