Pros It was relatively easy to learn it, and I managed to work with it in a relatively short amount of time, even though it was my first time working with a software such as this one. It was definitively time-saving. Cons Statistical tools were kind of confusing at the first time. These Objects would move in a raster environment or street network. but as I started to import class members from arcgis, I noticed that the only possible format is shpae file and it did not work correctly. In the other words, I could not import objects using shape files. However I expect more convenient environment to define smart agents and their behaviors. Pros GUI is very user friendly. There are several functions to use. There are many background projects have been done. Tutorials are useful. Cons System overall speed is low. The only common point with GIS software is shape file. There are few operational GIS project have been done by this software. Also I believe that it has a great potential to be used by arc gis software or any other gis software, designed system to some extent is far away from GIS. I am extremely happy with my choice and the results I've got. If you want to develop a scientific model to investigate a research question, AnyLogic is a great option. Pros I think the most interesting aspect is the flexibility and capability of AnyLogic for developing a variety of simulation models and conducting very diverse but at the same time specific experiments.
