Pros It works as it is supposed to, but my most liked feature is the customer service. The app/tool can be great 99% of the time, but that one time you need help, you want that support ASAP, and Aweber delivers this in spades. Cons The recent cost increase. Even though it was the first major increase in a very, very long time, still, anytime you have to rework your budget to keep the tools you have used as much as Aweber, it is a hassle. But, without the increase in cost, how can we, as customers, expect Aweber to keep up with technology with their spending? It is so worth it will not be disappointed. Pros Loved the customer support marketing sales were great. Contact management was super helpful. The form builder and security were all wonderful worth every penny. Cons I really wasn’t disappointed with anything. It was super easy to use. If I had to pick one thing I disliked. Publisher Publishing Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "A Little Too Much for a Lot Too Little" December 30, 2024 3.0 I joined AWeber on the advice of more than a few people in my circles, with the strongest accolade being about the superb customer support. Indeed, the service and support were, for the most part, excellent. They have good people at AWeber. My stay with AWeber lasted until recently (December 2024) when they decided to increase their prices while not really updating their services. The services at AWeber are at this point more than a touch behind other email service providers. The WYSIWYG email builder is wonky; the form generator is ancient; the templates are at are best not-bad and at worst atrocious; and the overall interface is lagging behind other companies, especially at the new price point. So, this combined with the new pricing made me look elsewhere -- and, believe me, I am glad that I did, because I found a couple other companies that are much better. One aspect of AWeber that was fantastic was their allowance of using multiple lists. That made sending emails for different businesses easy. But there is one down note about their customer service: when I emailed them about the massive price increase as well as a tacked-on fee, the response was what one would best call "glib." In their email they asserted how infrequently they increase prices and that what they're offering is more than worth the money and that if I wanted to decrease my costs all I had to do was delete some contacts and . . . You get the idea. It was the tone of the email, though, that made it somewhat condescending. AWeber overall is a good company, which is fine. The problem is that we're in a world in which a company has to be better than good. AWeber stumbled at this and didn't make my job easier. I wish them well, though I am happy they forced me to look elsewhere because I definitely found better -- and at a much lower price point. Pros AWeber is known for its fantastic customer service and support -- and deservedly so. The service and support personnel at AWeber are second-to-none: they are quick, knowledgable, open, and personable. Cons The issue that made me leave AWeber was primarily pricing, although to state that it was pricing alone would be incorrect. It would be correctly stated as well as be what I disliked most about AWeber was the price-to-quality ratio. Simply put, they decided to charge too much for too little. We move one of our companies off Aweber owning to lack of eCommerce integration (they say they have it but its basic using tags and some idea of overall sale value, but its not a full integration like say ActiveCampaign). The automation builder lacks branching/conditional logic. So if you don't need those things its a good starting point - allthough like many other providers they did double the price on us this year. I like how you don’t have to have people opt in to get them on your email list and rather customize it there. I liked that it would integrate with a lot of software. Cons I think the price compared to how many people you can have in the campaign isn’t very good. It’s too high for what you get. I highly recommend it to anyone starting out who is new to email automation. Great customer support and documentation. The free version is perfect for the beginner and as you grow they offer more features to support your growing email marketing needs at great prices. Pros When I started my business I didn't have a clue how to use an email automation service. AWeber was recommended and I'm so glad that I signed up. Their free trial version is great for beginners. I was able to create my first landing page and web forms with ease. I also have the confidence to know that as my business grows AWeber has all the features I need to manage my email marketing and campaigns. Cons I wish the free version allowed for multiple lists. You are given one, but it would be nice if maybe they could increase that to 3 lists. May 14, 2022 5.0 I switched to AWeber from MailChimp after learning about how bad MailChimp does with keeping our emails out of the Spam folder. I reached out to AWeber’s customer support multiple times and I can vouch for how AMAZING they all were. Pros Customer service is AMAZING when you need them. I can’t stress that enough. Once you learn your way around AWeber, it’s not too difficult to start creating campaigns and sending mass emails out. I love being able to have multiple list for different products and services. The A/B split testing is a really nice feature as well. They also help you connect your website domain host to help you stay out of the spam folder. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve to it. Setting up your host domain to prevent emails from landing in the spam folder is not an easy thing to setup but that’s a complicated process for ANY email marketing software. The free plan allows you to send 3000 emails and you're limited to collect 500 email subscribers per month. AWeber does not do well in email deliverability. Pros What I liked most about AWeber is that it provides an easy-to-use interface that gives you a good amount of design flexibility. AWeber is a cost effective tool for small businesses. It allows you to send 3000 emails per month for free, this makes it perfect for beginners who are just getting started with email marketing. With AWeber no matter how many subscribers you have, you'll always have access to the full features of the tool. There is a cool feature in AWeber when you're creating newsletters called keep my content checkbox, where your content is saved. This feature is not available In other tools where your content is overriden as soon you switch templates. Cons The free plan offers limited features such as the list building feature where youre allowed only one list. If you want to manage more lists, it becomes expensive quickly. I've tried GetResponse and others and they are also awesome, but I like the simplicity of Aweber so I don't really see why I would ever change. Pros I've used Aweber since 2014, and i've NEVER had an issue with them. Sure, they have downtime just like every other autoresponder a couple times per year, but it's always fixed really quickly. The deliverability is awesome, it's extremely easy to use and their customer is support is insanely responsive. I have had to do a few minor changes to my account every now and then, I kid you not, they have taken care of my issues usually within 2-3 minutes of me opening up the chat (which is now open 24/7) Cons I've heard that if you open a new account with Aweber now, you need to use their service for around a month using double optin, which could be annoying. When I set my account up several years ago, I didn't have to do that. So if you're planning on running paid ads etc right away, that might be an issue for you. October 10, 2022 5.0 Overall it’s been a positive experience with Aweber. Enjoy using this to create email newsletters and campaigns. Pros It’s simple to use. With a few clicks, you can start collecting emails to your email list, and start creating your news letter as well. The email editor is as simple or complex as you want to make it. It’s easy to integrate with whatever word processor you write your copy on, or even as a native word processor. I love how easy it is to see what your stats are on sent emails. It allows you to drill down on what works best in your headlines, email body, and if the links you send are getting click throughs. I also like how very few emails get bounced from the receiver. Aweber is a trusted email newsletter source, so gmail and even hotmail won’t mark it as spam often. Cons The biggest problem I find has to do with the lead pages. The lead pages on Aweber aren’t great, and they don’t always work fantastic putting them into a Wordpress blog. Then trying to integrate Aweber with lead pages was a problem for myself. I had to consult friends to discover how to do it properly. If the lead pages function was improved, and integrating with lead pages, it would immediately improve the experience and product.
