Founder Computer Software Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Simple to use email tool" April 27, 2022 3.0 Pros Its simplicity for simple use cases. Not everyone needs advanced features. If this is you, then AWeber may be something to consider. Most other email marketing tools have lots of features (that are often not used). Those features complicate things and make those tools much more difficult to use. Cons A disadvantage I experienced is that back in the day when I used AWeber, some other users were using AWeber to spam people and this had an impact on your deliverability as well. With the simplicity I described above comes the disadvantage that when you need more advanced features it quickly becomes more difficult. I also didn't like their pricing model. It's based on number of subscribers to a list — nothing wrong with that, but as the software didn't support segmentation you had to basically subscribe people to multiple lists get segementation (and hence you were paying twice for one subscriber that was on multiple lists). I had no problems with it at all .Once you start getting more than 500 subscribers you have to make a decision on the features you need and pricing bands for other companies. AWeber is still very competitive at under $20/month, but other competitors have superior features. Knowing I can get help when I need it makes this a winner email platform. Pros The biggest advantage that Aweber has over other email platforms is that I have always been able to reach a human on the phone whenever I get stuck, or when I have a question about the software. That saves me so much time! Cons Would like to be able to embed a video in my emails. Instead of linking over to YouTube. August 4, 2021 3.0 Not smooth or easy, very frustrating :( Pros The help I had from support from all the 24k times I called for help. Cons Super difficult to understand. I hate the “tags” feature. It caused me to loose over $400 — by using one of those tags incorrectly, it triggered an automatic email to download my paid book to people that did not buy it. Switched from [MailerLite](https://www.capterra.com/p/136603/MailerLite/) Because they cancelled my account for not having my address at the bottom of my emails. It’s my personal address and I find it creepy to make it public. They could have give me a chance to amend my mistake. MailerLite took me high to the sky and then let me fall into the ground. Simply, opt-in forms are available to embed in your website, which AWeber used to collect subscriber details. You can send out fully customizable emails manually or on an automated schedule. AWeber further allows you to segment your subscriber list down by subscriber behavior and even target content, allowing you to choose who gets what, and when. Tailoring your content to fit your subscribers is basically a gauranteed way to increase your views and subscriber base and conversion rates. Pros AWeber provides a simple interface which is easy to manage, and they also provide a large array of tutorials to help make the learning process a bit easier. The templates they provide are also of grat value as well. Tracking subscriber behavior and data is a huge bonus to help improve your conversions. A free 30-day trial is always a huge bonus as well. Cons A little more expensive than the alternatives. Template quality leaves a little to be desired as well, and the inability to send video via email seems like an outdated issue that should have been solved a long time ago. Review Source CS Chris S. Owner Financial Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Aweber good product that is priced comprable with it's competitors" January 7, 2021 4.0 It was good while I used it but I was a small business when I used it and went with a more affordable option. However, it is a really good product and will satisfy your email marketing and communication needs. Pros It offers all the key features, like import mailing list and host, different templates, reporting, RSS, landing pages and although I never did this I believe it integrates with third party applications. Although its not the cheapest, I do like their pricing model and how it based of the size of your list or subscribers. It's not a freemium model where you have to pay for all these extra features. Cons Marketing automation is super basic and there are cheaper options which offer more automation in this area. Some of the templates look like they are from the early 2000's and super outdated. Also they claim support is 24/7 but usually you have to submit a ticket and wait hours to hear back. Review Source SB Sotiris B. Pros I like the way once you learn how to use it the interface is simple to use, the customer services in Aweber are second to none. Cons The only thing I could complain about in Aweber is that they don't allow you to turn off double opt-in verification for API capture pages. You have to contact Aweber support or do a live chat to turn it off. Reason for choosing AWeber I don't like the back-office in Getresponse and first shopping cart at $129 a month ate a whack of my monthly marketing budget. Review Source Dawn M. It's great for sending rich text emails that are limited in pics. You can't go wrong if you're using it for affiliate marketing or some sense of a platform where you don't need a bunch of customization. Pros I like that the software allows you to build autoresponders that are pretty easy to format. I particularly like the feature that allows you to schedule subsequent autoresponder emails precisely after another , with the sequences being quite a bit more flexible than some others I've tried. Cons The software, overall, is not very good as a drag and drop softwares. In comparison to other easy email services, I think the overall visual of the platform is dull. It's not very pleasing to the eye and the features are not as straightforward. Pros I liked that you are able to do a live demo right on the screen to walk through any features that you have questions about; the ability to chat live with a customer support rep also helps when you have questions that you need answered right away. I like the ease of their email editor. I also like how easy it is to change the order of my legacy follow-up series by simply dragging & dropping the emails in whatever order I wish on the fly. Yes, Aweber is a little more expensive than some other platforms, but I'd rather pay a bit more for something that fits my needs than to be irritated all the time. Pros I've used various email marketing platforms, and I find Aweber's email editor the easiest to use. It's simple and easy, as it should be. I don't feel like I'm fighting with it to get to work properly, and it makes writing and structuring emails the way I want a piece of cake. Cons I don't like that I have to get in contact with Aweber to turn off double opt-in on some lists, even if I've already turned it off myself in my backend settings. Excellent customer care for questions. Pros Fairly easy to use, can segment list to organise contacts into categories of interest for relevant contact, a lot of good customer support and training. Cons It is a learning curve getting started (for a non-techie) - but otherwise nothing to deter future use and loyalty. Switched from [Mailchimp](https://www.capterra.com/p/110228/MailChimp/) Specifically for sign ups when the list needs to be segmented ie for a quiz lead magnet.
