The DonorSnap team provided hands-on service for the transition process and such personalized continued service that I know everyone by their first names. I always recommend DonorSnap to my peers in the Senior Care community and would recommend it to all philanthropic professionals at small to mid-sized nonprofits. Pros DonorSnap is a user-friendly online database that allows our medium-sized nonprofit to easily track donors, acknowledge donations, email donor contacts, assign and record interactions and pull customized reports. Unlike larger, more expensive databases, DonorSnap has a transparent interface which allows real-time customization at every level - for an extremely reasonable price. Not only is it easy to use, but if we ever have a question, online trainings are easy to find in their Help section, live trainings are given regularly, and customer support responds almost immediately. Cons The outgoing mass email function is a little clunky, so we usually export contacts to a CRM platform for more customizable email appeals and communications. Pros I’ve been using DonorSnap for nearly 10 years, and it has been an incredible tool for managing donor relationships. The platform is user-friendly, reliable, and packed with features that make tracking and engaging with donors a breeze. One of the standout aspects is its affordability—it offers great value for organizations of all sizes. What truly sets DonorSnap apart is its excellent customer service. Anytime I’ve had a question or needed assistance, their team has been responsive, helpful, and genuinely invested in making sure I succeed. We would recommend them for those that need something from basic to loaded. Pros Donorsnap above all has great customer service. Any issues we have, they are quick to respond. The reports are also easy to run to get quick data. Cons Some of the areas of Donosnap can be complex, however, with that said.. they provide training videos and webinars which are always go to. I feel like the staff does its best to fully answer questions and solve problems. But with the overall limitations of the communications functions, there's only so much they can do. Pros The client database is straightforward and easy to use. The fields are intuitive and you can adapt or add per your own needs. Screen layout when searching can be tough because of long rows but pulling up individual contacts is easy. I love that you can copy data right from the viewing screen without having to open the editable contact. The help features are user friendly and usually address the most common problems. I like that there are videos as well as written materials on various topics. Cons The communication tools are sorely lacking. Email, letters, and forms are way too basic and challenging to edit. There does not seem to be a feature allowing you to change line spacing within a form or in the Automated Task Manager. In addition, I had to keep canceling the project and restarting because after one attempt to edit an ATM task, the system won't let you make additional edits. You have to start over. The emails come out looking like you emailed directly from your email provider. You are limited to one image insert, they are hard to edit, and you cannot add a form directly into the email. I have yet to send out an email from DonorSnap because it looks so pedestrian and ... boring. We are still using MailChimp for its visual features, which of course defeats the purpose. The forms are "okay" but come out looking like a child made them. Totally lackluster, but functional. I'll be honest: I am embarrassed to send out communications and put the forms on our website. If we leave DonorSnap for another product, it will because of the generic communication tools. The query tools used in creating tasks are not intuitive. If it weren't for the help videos I would never be able to implement these. Pros DonorSnap is very cost-effective and the customer service is top-notch! I get replies via email very quickly and the system itself is easy to use. We are a non-profit and DonorSnap has been a KEY part of keeping our records and finances on track. Cons The only thing I could say I liked least about DonorSnap is a few of the restrictions (data-wise). Reports can be difficult to pull and getting detailed causes a challenge. September 15, 2025 5.0 DonorSnap is such an improvement over other CRM's that I have tried. I have recommended it to my web developer, and he has passed on my recommendations to other clients of his, and they have started using DonorSnap also. Pros Donor Snap is so much easier to use, than two other CRM's that I had used previously. Easy to learn, and they have excellent training videos, which is where I am able to get the majority of my questions answered. When I can't find the answer on their Help/Training site, I will send an email off to the support team, and typically get a response with an answer within 30 minutes. A previous CRM product could take 2-3 weeks for an answer. There reporting options are also very easy to use. So much easier than those other guys. If you are proficient with Microsoft Office products you should have no issues. Cons The weakest link I would say is with the ability to send emails that are heavy on graphics. It is also possible that I have not tried enough, or asked the correct questions. They have a wealth of educational videos, and if those don't answer your question, their customer service team is quick to respond to any emails (usually within an hour)! Cons A few of the options take some time and additional knowledge (like doing HTML for emails), but even then the DonorSnap staff are willing to help with whatever you need. I also added EventSnap and AuctionSnap which also have limitations, but I look forward to them getting further developed. October 31, 2024 5.0 We have been using DonorSnap since 2017 for 2 separate community foundations and therefore have 2 separate DonorSnap accounts. The transition from our excel spreadsheets to DonorSnap was very smooth. One of the things I love most about DonorSnap is the responsiveness of the team. Whenever I have a question or need technical assistance, I get a response within the day- usually within a few hours. That is something I really value and appreciate. Pros It's a cost effective donor management system that is easy to use. DonorSnap has been a fantastic partner, always responsive and adding new features that are useful. The best feature for us is the integration with online donations. This has made our processes more efficient and streamlined. Cons The only downfall of DonorSnap is that it is one of many tools we use in our backoffce. We use a separate Grant Management Tool and separate Budgeting tool. This is actually not a con of DonorSnap itself, as DonorSnap does not promise those products. There is really nothing specific to DonorSnap platform that I would say I have found problematic. If anything, we are not using all the functionality that DonorSnap provides and that is due to not being able to dedicate the time- we are a very small staff with limited capacity. It's very easy to set up. The company works with you to customize it to fit the needs of your non-profit. It has worked very well for receipting donors easily - either by email or printing receipts. It's very simple to run donation reports, contribution statements, etc. They have tickler alerts you can set up to remind you to do things with certain donors (send a thank you note, contact in a week, etc.). There are a ton of help videos and webinars to show you how to do different things. Their customer service is the best I have ever encountered. They go above and beyond to help you solve and problems you may have. Cons I have been using it for years and love it. They keep adding new things to make it better. I honestly can't think of ways to improve. Though they gave it a makeover fairly recently, it wasn't one of those software makeovers that just makes it look more modern while removing functionality (my personal pet peeve). They add new features pretty regularly and provide clear and easily accessed training for them. The pricing structure is frozen in place, so no worries about it suddenly blowing up your small organization's budget. Pros Our favorite features are responsive forms and mass email campaigns. DonorSnap seems hard to learn, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. It's a great balance of having a basic ready-to-go template in place with a lot of ways to customize it for your org's needs. The support team is pretty responsive over email when you need them. We also pay less than half of what we used to pay for a different CRM that didn't give us nearly as many features. The fact that DS is web-based came in handy during the Covid pivot to work-from-home. While a person can get up to speed quickly and begin using the basic functions almost immediately, those who are able to invest more time in learning can harness its tremendous capabilities. My organization tracks donations, sends acknowledgments, records volunteer hours, runs mass email campaigns, and designs newsletters, all within DonorSnap. I like having the ability to customize pages and add user-defined fields. Pros Donorsnap has terrific customer support. The help pages, webinars, printable handouts, and video tutorials are all well done, and I've found them very useful. When I need more, however, I know the Donorsnap team will help. They are all extremely knowledgeable, and I've yet to pose a question they couldn't answer quickly and with a thorough explanation that leaves me well-equipped to tackle things myself next time. In the age of AI and virtual assistants, it's so nice to get a personalized response from a human who understands what I'm asking for. It allows us to keep up with our donors, and send information that is relevant to them. It has tremendously helped with tracking our campaigns and fundraising goals. Pros DonorSnap is our first Donor CRM software. I don't know what we did before we had it. DS allows us to analyze our donor giving and see trends. It also makes customizing campaign lists easy so we can better reach specific donors. Pulling lists, whether it's for batch emails, or mailing lists is so efficient. We are able to reach our donors in a more meaningful way because of DonorSnap and the contact notes we can keep, reports we can run, and correspondence we can send. Cons There is a learning curve. I know, I have only scratched the surface of this software. However, \[sensitive content hidden\] do an AMAZING job of getting you up and running, and keeping you running. They are ALWAYS available in a timely manner to answer questions, and the online training is exceptional, as well as the history bank of training materials they offer. Also the Facebook community is wonderful about sharing information.
