I am a 40+year Fund Development professional using both Raiser's Edge (25 years) and Salesforce and I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with Donor Snap. Pros I have only been using it for 11 months as I am new to the organization but I have found it very simple and easy to use. It allows me to customize to my needs. This is important as I have assumed responsibility for a database which needs a considerable amount of maintenance and clean up on our organization's end. It covers the basics and leaves room to grow and I look forward to using more of Donor Snap's capacity. Help Resources are very useaful and user friendly and cover all the basics. Cons The design of the database which allows such wide ranging capacity for customization is also one of the draw backs but that is totally the responsibility of the organizations using it. It might be something to think about stressing to new users....document what and why you are doing things. This advice would make it much easier when new staff assume the reins. I have experience with two other cloud-based donor management systems from other organizations I work with and have found DonorSnap to be the most user-friendly, intuitive, and effective. While understanding how to properly set up the reports takes some getting used to (the video trainings offered are very helpful and anytime I have questions beyond that, I always receive prompt and helpful replies from customer service), the information I get out of the reports is far more customizable and helpful compared to the report functionality of other systems. Entering donations and preparing acknowledgments is also much less time consuming and more customizable than other databases. The customer service at DonorSnap is top-notch! There was an instance where I accidently deleted a contact and all of their history and the customer service team was able to quickly recover the information. The other systems I've used have been very clear that once you delete information, there is nothing they can do to help. Pros Straightforward pricing, intuitive and user-friendly interface, highly customizable, excellent customer support Cons While overall I find the interface to be more intuitive/user-friendly than other donor management systems, scrolling through contacts is tedious compared to other programs and understanding the query builder is less intuitive and takes some getting used to but the trainings offered are very helpful! Pros For the cost, this software can do so much and much of it is easier to accomplish than on the larger legacy CRM systems. I really like how items can be customized for data entry. Cons It's not as intuitive for non-tech people. I have a strong query background and still struggle navigating building reports and getting the fields I want. We were up and running with this database very quickly - the onboarding time was much shorter than competitors, and both learning resources and support have been great for existing and new staff. While no solution does everything we want the way we want it, this has really supported our small staff in building a much stronger development program. Pros Easy to learn, excellent online tech and training support, great reporting which leads to better customized and segmented appeals, easy form building, and very useful integrations. I recommend taking advantage of the training (both live and recorded prior topics). My organization is small with a development staff of one; but, I like that the software allows for multiple users. There are features we don't use that I imagine are very helpful to other customers. Pros I find it easy to use most features. As a DonorSnap user for over six years, I have also been pleased to see that they have continued to add features without significant increases in cost. Our organization has grown and DonorSnap continues to meet our needs. Cons I don't find Data Miner Platinum to be as intuitive as I'd like for a non-tech person. It is helpful that a wide variety of product training is available and the support staff have been very responsive anytime I've needed to contact them (rarely). Highly recommend. Because of the excellent customer service and customization of the crm overall we have been able to adapt Donor Snap to fit several different iterations of our organization as we grow and change. Also, the trainer, \[sensitive content hidden\], is so easy to understand and learn from. She manages the learning library and it is very well done. I had zero experience with Donor Snap before coming in as the office manager last year. I have been able to learn and manipulate the software with little one on one help, just using the recorded trainings. I also like that every time there is a hot topic a live training is done and 99% of the questions are answered quickly with little need to dig for what you need. Pros The support team is unbeatable. They have always walked me step by step through everything. The learning library is excellent and so well done. There are a lot custom options which has been good as we grow and change. The price point is very fair. Donor Snap continues to innovate and grow to better serve their customers. Cons My least favorite feature is the reports. I find that once you are in a category, donation, persona, contact you lose some ability to cross reference. So you need to manually combine reports. I think it's a donation report does not have an option for a contact ipk, only a donation ipk. That makes matching with another report hard. contact ipk is a foundation for everything. We're a small organization and it's important for us to have a product that meets our needs, but is affordable. DonorSnap is very affordable and gives us all the tools we need at this point in our growth. It will also grow with us. I appreciate the responsiveness - both quality and accessibility of help when needed. They have a way of making me feel like I'm their priority and I've never felt as though they are too busy to help me. The reporting capabilities alone save this one-person-shop tons of time, allowing me to focus on donor stewardship and front-line fundraising. Pros DonorSnap is fairly intuitive (probably much more so for users who are more savvy than I) and user friendly. They are also UBER responsive to cries for help. Cons I personally have challenges making the forms look as I would like them to look. I feel that has more to do with me than the product, because when I ask for help they are able to make things better than I even expected them to be. It automates many tasks that used to take much longer with just excel spreadsheets and similar programs. And it allows a wider range of functions. The customer support provided is outstanding. I send in a question, and a helpful response comes back to me faster than with any other 'help desk' that I've used. I appreciate that we can have multiple team member profiles to be able to maintain this crm. It's an incredibly effective tool for our organization. Cons I really don't have any dislikes about it- I started using it just about a year ago, and the trainings available are excellent. Cons I would be so excited to have an interactive and easy to use app! Pros DonorSnap is incredibly user friendly so it is functional for not only the person who is familiar with CRM databases but also makes it easy to train someone who is not familiar. The different functions and the consistent updates are very helpful in improving our organization's data usage and tracking. If there is a bug or something that I am not understanding how to do. DonorSnap Support is very good about making sure that bugs get fixed or about providing me with the information that I was having difficulty finding on my own. Cons Every now and then there will be a bug with one of the functions. However, when those bugs are brought to DonorSnap's attention they are often addressed and fixed within a very quick timeframe. I find that the training webinars very helpful - easy to find what I needed and they were well thought out. I have also contacted technical support when I couldn't find an answer and they were very professional and helpful. Cons What do I like least ...... that is a hard one for me - since I am still learning what DonorSnap can do, I don't have anything specific that I don't like at this point. While a person can get up to speed quickly and begin using the basic functions almost immediately, those who are able to invest more time in learning can harness its tremendous capabilities. My organization tracks donations, sends acknowledgments, records volunteer hours, runs mass email campaigns, and designs newsletters, all within DonorSnap. I like having the ability to customize pages and add user-defined fields. Pros Donorsnap has terrific customer support. The help pages, webinars, printable handouts, and video tutorials are all well done, and I've found them very useful. When I need more, however, I know the Donorsnap team will help. They are all extremely knowledgeable, and I've yet to pose a question they couldn't answer quickly and with a thorough explanation that leaves me well-equipped to tackle things myself next time. In the age of AI and virtual assistants, it's so nice to get a personalized response from a human who understands what I'm asking for. I've been working with computers since they were these giant pieces of equipment and there would be a whining, beeping sound as they turned on & tried to connect to whatever the "internet" was then. Learned everything by the proverbial seat of my pants. DonorSnap is intuitive and user-friendly - even for a Boomers like myself. Our little nonprofit is, and has always been, very volunteer driven. There have been many hands in our database, and when we switched to DonorSnap from a different application, it was wonderful how much easier it was to better organize and clean up data. Pros I especially appreciate what I would call the "logic" interwoven into DonorSnap's design. Well, at least it is fairly easy to sync with my logic (which may or may not be a high bar, hee hee.) But seriously, it is usually easy to try new things in the program using a "now what would make sense" approach first. After that, the "Help" options are terrific! I also would like to compliment the ready responsiveness of the team at the company. Although they and my organization are on opposite sides of the country, I can get a response way after the typical work day is done in their area. Cons Nothing about DonorSnap per se. October 31, 2024 5.0 We have been using DonorSnap since 2017 for 2 separate community foundations and therefore have 2 separate DonorSnap accounts. The transition from our excel spreadsheets to DonorSnap was very smooth. One of the things I love most about DonorSnap is the responsiveness of the team. Whenever I have a question or need technical assistance, I get a response within the day- usually within a few hours. That is something I really value and appreciate. Pros It's a cost effective donor management system that is easy to use. DonorSnap has been a fantastic partner, always responsive and adding new features that are useful. The best feature for us is the integration with online donations. This has made our processes more efficient and streamlined. Cons The only downfall of DonorSnap is that it is one of many tools we use in our backoffce. We use a separate Grant Management Tool and separate Budgeting tool. This is actually not a con of DonorSnap itself, as DonorSnap does not promise those products. There is really nothing specific to DonorSnap platform that I would say I have found problematic. If anything, we are not using all the functionality that DonorSnap provides and that is due to not being able to dedicate the time- we are a very small staff with limited capacity. Databases are hard; everyone wants something tailored perfectly to their needs. I've worked with a few larger databases that have a lot of additional features/customizations (and are more expensive!) and I think DonorSearch works just as well. I find DonorSnap is fantastic for the price, and the customer service is great. Pros The customer service is great. Typically, when I submit a ticket, someone gets back to me that day. Cons When printing donor list for mailing even those that are marked in their accounts as no mailing still come up and having to sort through all of those is time consuming. Pros Our small non-profit organization has used the Donorsnap platform almost daily since we signed on in August, 2020. In addition to an incredible array of options, reports, integrations and additional features for a reasonable monthly fee, their customer support and commitment to user training is phenomenal. A well-designed HELP website directory has been very useful to refer to for training or refreshers. The team is also responsive and provides helpful support. If you use the responsive forms online, donor information goes directly into your database. In addition, the preferred payment platform has been able to offer competitive rates and assistance as well. Cons Highly useful databases are hard! Customer support is responsive and detailed. I would recommend with my peers. Pros I really like the platform. I've worked with many platforms and this is one of my favorites. I like the easy option of switching up your dashboard. Creating landing pages has great option. Customer support is maybe one of the best I've experienced in donor base platforms.
