### "Love using DonorSnap!!!"

September 1, 2022

5.0

We had been using DonorSnap for some time and a new Director wanted to try another product. Instead of cancelling DonorSnap I kept using it while implementing the other product. I found the letters were very important to me because I print out quite a few. With the other program I wasn't able to print in batches, nor was I able to customize any letters. Plus it was more expensive. We ended up cancelling that program and stayng with DonorSnap. It's just alot easier for me to use.

Pros

I find this software very easy to use. I helped implement it for our company and I am the person who uses it the most. I love the letter writing feature that allows you to do batch letters and also customize each letter to the specific Donor. I also like the ease of inputting or managing each Donor. I also like that each page has a help video or that you can contact support at any time.

Cons

I am not proficient at running reports so maybe more direction for that portion.

### "Happy Client"

January 19, 2021

5.0

I would describe my overall experience with DonorSnap as very positive. We are able to do many gift processing functions (recording donations, sending thank you letters) quickly and easily. I am building more complete donor profiles with the tools. We are now able to run reports and set up mailing and prospect lists consistently. The e-commerce feature and the responsive forms allow us to set up online ticket purchasing, registrations, and donations. This has been a critical tool for us.

Pros

We are a small nonprofit in a rural community in Oregon. DonorSnap is our first donor database system after years of Excel spreadsheets. I am so happy with how I can use it to record donor history, build contact profiles, run reports, pull lists and keep track of solicitations, conduct mass email campaigns, build responsive forms for online giving, and add notes. I don't feel we have utilized all the possible features yet. I love learning how to customize the fields and then to populate it with information. The training program and help videos are awesome. The response to my questions on email are fast and helpful. The support is a key aspect of why I feel we are using DonorSnap successfully. I now have a wish list of things I want to do with DonorSnap that I have yet to set up. It is a robust donor management tool and easy to use.

Cons

I haven't found anything I don't like about DonorSnap. There are some 'canned' reports that make it easy to use DonorSnap but I like to make custom reports too. I still need help with the report writing feature in the DataMiner Platinum since I am still learning. I'd like to master it better but know the team is there to help me get it right. Also, when we use the responsive forms sometimes DonorSnap doesn't recognize the patron as already having a record in the system and duplicates have occurred. I'm learning how to match and set up the forms to allow for smoother integration when we post the online gift or purchase. There is a tool to merge duplicate records so we have found that helpful. This is not a software problem but more of a user inexperience problem.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

Since we were just starting out with web-based donor management software, DonorSnap gave us a robust set of tools, excellent support team for training and migration, and competitive price point based on size of database. We are 100% satisfied with DonorSnap.

### "DonorSnap Suits Our Small Nonprofit Very Well"

July 6, 2022

5.0

Overall, I would strongly recommend this program to smaller nonprofits. And it might work for bigger ones too. I'm just not sure. For reference, I'm the sole staff of this organization, Cascade Medical Foundation, and we have an annual budget somewhere between $100,000 and $200,000 except last year when we received grants that pushed us to about $320,000.

Pros

I've used DonorSnap for over 3 years, since I started at this Foundation job. I'm the only user, and it meets 99% of my needs. I don't know what it would be like for multiple staff users, but it seems like it would be fine. I like the level of detailed info I can collect on each donor/sponsor, and there are more interaction tabs that I don't even use. I can enter donation data quickly, do mass entry when that's appropriate, and easily pull reports based on either type of donor, date of donation, amount, etc. I also send my yearly tax letters through DonorSnap, and that goes pretty smoothly. Also, I use DS to pull addresses for mailing our newsletters. I have taken several of the trainings over time, and find them very helpful and broken down into very digestible chunks. Plus there are other helpful resources.

Cons

I have not integrated DS with QuickBooks because I'm still nervous about the challenges that will crop up during integration - because of the aligning codes and such so that all info flows the way I expect it to in QBs. So, right now I enter donations twice, which does take longer, but makes me feel very confident about the #s, and I really use DS and QBs differently. I feel like integration would/could cause problems with certain things, like restricted donations, in-kind and automatic monthly donations.

### "DonorSnap - "

November 11, 2021

5.0

With our previous, very complicated donor management system, we had to hire specialists to do trainings for staff, problem solve, and design queries. DonorSnap and its support services have enabled us to keep our programs functioning without delays.

Pros

Unlike our previous donor management software, DonorSnap's features are very user friendly and easy to learn. Staff support is tremendous. Support/directions are available on every task page. And when we contact support directly, we have never waited more than an hour for a response. Price is also a great plus. We saved $6,000 per year by switching to DonorSnap.

Cons

At first I was concerned that we could not have a phone call with support as we were learning the program. But I soon learned that support's methods of providing customized video instructions were even better, allowing us to replay instructions as needed and also save the videos for future reference.

### "Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes - Non-Profit"

February 7, 2023

5.0

DS Support has been great, and the training (streaming and videos) have been really helpful.

Pros

We were using Salesforce for Non-profits. We found DonorSnap to be much easier to use and relatively easy to customize for our needs. Integration with Constant Contact has been easy too, and we are planning to integrate with QuickBooks in the near future. We have one administrative process that requires DS Support to take an action for us about once a month. They have always had a very quick turnaround.

Cons

We have volunteers who live in the same household. It may be a husband, wife, and child. There was no convenient way to create a unique entry for each member of the household when we set this up. Maybe it exists now. What we ended up doing is creating a Contact for the household and a unique Persona for each of the members of the household. That Persona file has a unique name, phone, email, volunteer program, communication preference, etc. for each member of the household.

### "Not User Friendly"

June 9, 2021

2.0

Overall experience is that it served a purpose for us while we needed it. But, I am thankful we switched to a more user friendly platform. I voiced my concerns to them several times and never had any feedback. The best part of it was the customizable dashboard.

Pros

The only positive was that fact that it is a Donor relations management /record keeping at a fair price.

Cons

The initial import was not easy. We were also told we would not have to make journal entries because it integrated great with QuickBooks, that was not the case. For what we needed it for, the import/export was very complicated and had lots of bugs. The reports are not easy to pull information. Data Miner Platinum is not user friendly and should not be so confusing. Mailing reports are cumbersome. You cannot customize letters and emails with your logo. The support side also had a lot to be desired. Anytime we needed help we were referred to a video that was just as confusing. The responsive forms were VERY cumbersome to make and took way too much time. It was just too much time administrative wise.

Response from DonorSnap

June 24, 2021

Hi Kim, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are sorry to hear your experience did not meet your expectations. We take all customer feedback to heart to improve our product and respond to every support request. At one point you had requested complimentary event registrations in the same form as paid registrations. We are happy to share that we now offer that functionality in our online forms. We also offer pre-designed templates for our forms so users don't have to spend the time building them from scratch. As for your challenges with Quickbooks, our integration allows users to record donations in DonorSnap and send them over to Quickbooks in a few clicks. They come over as journal entries and can even provide donor details if you set that up. We are happy to hear that you have found a product that better fits RCISD's complex needs and we wish you the best of luck in the future. Take Care, The DonorSnap Team

### "Donor Snap is the Aldi of CRM's--Everything you need without the facade"

November 21, 2021

5.0

Overall awesome, I brag about it often with others in the field and I enjoy working within the software to create new forms, queries, reports, etc.

Pros

DonorSnap will allow you to do virtually anything. No extra fees or bundle packages, they just give you access to everything for considerably less money than some of the competitors we were looking at originally. They are simple and everything is fully customizable, especially the online forms that can be embedded into our website to collect contact data and payment information from our supporters. We run all of our trip payments, forms, signed waivers, and subscriptions through DonorSnap. We'll never go anywhere else, especially for $40/month, compared to $200+/month from other big software companies.

Cons

DonorSnap takes a little getting used to. It's very basic, no fun graphics or "wow" work here--just functional CRM software. The tech help is via email only, so you cannot get an immediate answer, but at the same time, this is how they keep their overhead low and pass the savings onto the clients. If you are unwilling to watch some tutorials on form set-up then this is not for you; it will take some practice and getting used to as you learn the software.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

Cost and functionality. I didn't mind less bells and whistles for more product and functionality.

### "Donor Snap review"

June 30, 2022

4.0

I find entering donations into the system is with ease and very simple to run fundraising reports (outside of some Data Miner reports) or find information on donor.

Pros

I like the ease to enter a new donor or to record an existing donor's contribution. I love the merge letter feature as I often have many acknowledgment letters to send after inputting many donations. To run a report on various areas of a fundraiser helps me to narrow it down or be as broad as I want for the report. When we integrated to program many years ago, it went very well. The Customer Support is very helpful but at times it would be easier to communicate on phone rather than email.

Cons

I find the Data Miner reports difficult to set up to run with particular criteria. The support received has been helpful, but there are some reports that the customer support realizes don't report correctly and then have to create another report to compare. An example is if looking for a donor based on a mail code or attribute, but donor hasn't given monetarily, then the donor didn't show up on the report. The other area is when doing merge letters, the date is automatically entered, but there are times I want to post-date the letter. I can enter the new date, but once letter is completed to print, it defaults back to the current date.

### "Donorsnap Review"

February 25, 2022

4.0

Overall, I really enjoy using Donorsnap. I log into it almost every day. The main reason why I like it: customer service. By far, Donorsnap has the best customer service from any online service I've used. I am able to get into contact with a real human being very quickly and they always have been able to answer my questions very intelligently.

Pros

We like how fields can be highly customizable both with contacts and donations. Reports are very easy to retrieve. I also like the ease of batch codes and the documents/letters that I can customize and send.

Cons

We would LOVE "log ins" for our staff so they can see real time donations that only they have raised. This is not possible yet with DS. Also, event registrations don't work that well for us. We need the ability for a registrant to choose "quantity" (2 or more children going to camp for the same price, for example). Same issue if someone is purchasing 4 sweatshirts, for example. Also, we'd love use DS for ALL our contact management but it doesn't seem to work that way for us right now. We have donors, volunteers, paid staff, campers, the campers parents, board members, etc. If every paid staff, volunteer, board member could have a HIGHLY customizable log in to be able to see ONLY the information they have permissions for, would be super super wonderful. We've considered moving away from DS for this issue alone.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

Donorsnap was our original choice many years ago and I've seen it steadily improve. That is another reason why I like Donorsnap and have stayed, they listen to my feedback and are constantly improving their system. There are some functions we are in need of, which is why I've been considering switching to another provider. However, I keep holding out because the DS price is so good and I keep thinking DS will add the functions I need.

### "The D.O.V.E. Fund - Development of Vietnam Endeavors"

September 3, 2022

5.0

As a retired Software Engineer and Developer for a large corporation, this package is a good step for our application. I know that there are a lot of features (i.e. Tickler, Pledges, Volunteer Tracking, etc.) that we have not touched as that support is not in our focus at this time.

Pros

The software allowed us to import a lot of our information from an older (non DonorSnap) system, using the Excel Interface. Edits were easy to do as we continued to add more information to our system, and allow mass edits using the Excel interface.

Cons

We have asked for a few enhancements from the DonorSnap support and most of them have been very quickly. There are a few flags in the database (i.e. Bill Me) which are not exposed to be used in the DataMinerPlatinum for custom reports. There are a few work-arounds, so this is not a show stopper.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

If we wrote our own system the question was who was going to support this in 5 years when our volunteers would have left the board (we are a total Non Profit and no one is paid).

Switched from

[Exceed.ai](https://www.capterra.com/p/176408/Exceed-ai/)

The software was a single user platform, running on DOS. We needed to open our user-base, and with a web based system we can have several people working from their homes on the system, each with their own area of responsibility.

### "Easy, intuitive, superb tutorials and help provided"

November 12, 2021

5.0

We have used DonorSnap for about a decade. Switching over was quick, easy, and fun. Immediately, you can plan what new fields you are going to add and edit. Improvements in the overall system are regularly made, with no extra costs. There are no fees on top of your monthly payment. It has saved tens of thousands of dollars in payroll costs, because no one has to build or maintain the overall database - it is already done for you. Of course, you have to personalize it for your organization, but it is so easy. Previous databases cost so much more, because you had to keep paying for their updates, and for each user and/or computer. And, we can't state strongly enough, how great the Support is at DonorSnap. Your questions will be answered. DonorSnap can be accessed by any device - my Mac, my iPhone, etc.

Pros

Extraordinarily easy to learn and use, even for lower skilled individuals. Provides reports appropriate to nonprofits, and easy to create and edit your own reports. Powerful search and report tools. Saves time because you are hitting the ground running, with pre-built reports and functionality, all you have to do is edit and add items to suit your own needs. Super intuitive, company is super quick to respond, if you need help.

Cons

There are no negatives to using DonorSnap.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

It seemed far superior to our database at that time, it seemed far superior to the others we researched, several consultants recommended it, and DonorSnap offered a free trial to play around with it. That sealed the deal.

### "DonorSnap is the perfect tool for our nonprofit"

November 16, 2021

5.0

We use DonorSnap daily and it is one of my "go-to" tools as an Executive Director. I love having so much information available in DonorSnap of our supporters which makes it a very efficient.

Pros

We've used DonorSnap for years and are very happy with the product. Customer service has been great over the years and always there when we need them. The tutorials have helped my new team members get up to speed as well. Though we only use a fraction of what DonorSnap offers, we have found that it has all the bells and whistles for what we need.

Cons

In the beginning, the transition was tough as our team is small and we were not always up to speed on how to do things. Fortunately, DonorSnap's customer service was there to help us.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

It provided what we needed with the capacity to grow with our nonprofit. Also, customer service was a very important factor.

### "CSPCA Donor Snap Review"

May 6, 2022

5.0

We are very happy with the software. It acts as both donor management & fundraising and as our address book. I have recommended it to several other animal shelters in the area. For our needs it is a simple, reliable and moderately priced tool to help us run our shelter.

Pros

Ease of use. It was very easy to learn and the transfer of info from our old program to this was great.

Cons

There are some features that I wish were better. When I am putting in a memorial donation and need to add a person's name...I wish I could do it on the fly rather than having to close out the donation file and go to maintenance and enter it there. I have yet to figure out how to mail merge and print right on envelopes. I know I can do labels but would like to print directly on envelopes.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

The ease of use, the moderate price and customer service

### "Basic Easy to Use Donor Data System"

February 1, 2023

4.0

Simple to learn, great training classes and help section.

Pros

Easy to use, easy to learn, customizable for many gift-related functions. Basic donor management tools are perfect for an organization like mine with a small number of donors.

Cons

I would like an executive summary page where a donor's whole file is shown on screen and printable. I would also appreciate an easier way to track soft credit gifts, perhaps a checkbox on the donor's file showing that they made a gift that was paid by a third party payor.

### "Donorsnap is the best for our needs, hands down"

January 8, 2024

5.0

Email response times from support are super fast. Transitioning to DS from our former CRM was far easier than anticipated. The free online trainings are simple and relevant and super easy to find, as well as very helpful. If we are still in a bind on anything, we can still get one-on-one custom trainings for a small reasonable fee. The entire Donorsnap system is perfect for our small non-profit, as the learning curve was short and the migrated data intact for our thousands of donors. We couldn't be happier with the small annual fee for such a super useful and easy to use system.

Pros

Donorsnap was phenomenally easy to set up, compared to every other CRM we looked at. Donorsnap's process for transitioning from our former CRM to theirs was relatively seemless and inexpensive, compared to every other CRM we scoped out.

Cons

The monthly accounting I do with Donorsnap monthly donor data seems a little more onerous than it should be, but it still remains functional and not an excessive hassle.

Switched from

[Blackbaud eTapestry](https://www.capterra.com/p/29170/eTapestry/)

Our former CRM was at least 4 times the cost of Donorsnap, and we never switched due to the high cost of any transition. We got lucky finding Donorsnap, because both the annual fee and transition costs were low enough that the decision was easy. Further, we are even happier with Donorsnap than our former CRM, in both ease of use and functionality.

### "Donorsnap for Small Nonprofits"

May 13, 2022

LOVE donorsnap!!!!!As a sole employee, I use interactions, notes and document attachment. Gives me great piece of mind when someone takes my place in the future, having our donor history in one place.

Pros

affordable with features I need to keep up with donors, trends in giving, lapsed and enhanced donors, great customer service, responsive support

Cons

I would like the ability to attach documents directly from the desktop, without having to scan/save them as a file first AND the ability to attach multiple documents at the same time, instead of one by one. On a mobile device, the ability to upload multiple photos/images (each file is named jpg) so new uploads won't save due to same file name.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

We were in the process of purchasing an alternative product, much more expensive and the demo person accidentally said "donorsnap" which I had never heard of, researched, talked to current customers who all responded to my inquiry, sold! Happy user for many years now, would be again and sooner, as soon as we started our organization. It grows with you and is very affordable.

### "Excellent training and customer support"

June 6, 2023

4.0

Using mass uploads have allowed us to keep track of individual touches with donors much more easily and also track all donations and events attended. We have better relationships with our donors across specific users with all the functionality of this system. With the integrations, we've been able to launch an email newsletter to compliment our printed newsletter AND grow online giving.

Pros

It was very easy for me to learn how to use DonorSnap using the tutorials, regular courses and other features. The customer service staff is outstanding, very responsive and thorough when I have questions or want more detailed information about a feature.

Cons

The ability to link specific gifts, such as soft credits for matching gifts, would be very, very helpful. Also, the integration with Constant Contact to pull an email list based on specific gifts is also badly needed.

### "Easy to use"

June 7, 2023

5.0

In my two years with this organization I've moved our memberships and donations from another platform to Donor Snap because its so much easier to use and the customer service is so much better.

Pros

It is very easy to use on the back end. Customizing reports, fields, user screens, and online forms is all very intuitive. Importing and exporting information is done with a few clicks. When there has been something more complex that haven't been able to figure out the customer service is always quick with a response. The customer facing side is also a much simpler interface than we've experienced with other systems.

Cons

Since we use this for our memberships it would be nice if there was a way for members to log in and see their membership level and expiration date. While you can use the online forms to have people sign up for events, such as a fundraiser or gala, it would be nice to use it for more complex programs such as summer camps or community programs where there are multiple dates to chose from, various forms that need to be read and confirmed, lots of information that needs to be provided that wouldn't be part of a DS contact (a kids medical info for summer camp). This would make it easier for us to see how our members and donors are interacting with us without having to collect that data from our registration system then manually flag them in Donor Snap.

I love using DonorSnap. The screens look good, The reporting is accurate, and the Customer Service is one of the BEST.

Pros

I have been working with Donor Snap for the past eight years; I love going to work. Donor Snap is a great data entry program in which you can customize a lot of things from the Dashboard to the Data Entry screens, and the fields themselves, making your data entry easier and work for you. The program is secure, fast, and smooth. Seldom do I have to contact the Customer Support, but when I have, I have always received timely, and respectful answers (the best Customer Support). They offer weekly, on-line training, and a library of past recorded training, which is ideal for people who can’t afford the time-off during the day.Donor Snap has made changes and updates since I started with them, I think they care about the needs of their Users, which are from many different fields. They want the Program to work for everyone.

Cons

I haven't quite figured out how to easily Count or tally certain information.

### "DonorSnap--Ideal for Small Nonprofits"

We have been very happy with DonorSnap. It is a great value for the price paid, the support team is amazing (and we've rarely needed help!), and the report writing function is easy to use. We are able to understand our donors' giving trends, and can plan more effectively for the future.

Pros

This software was easy to implement, and has subsequently been easy to manage. The integration to QuickBooks is seamless. The support team is amazing!

Cons

There are a few tweaks I might make to the report writer, but in all likelihood, they are probably already there and I just haven't searched the website enough to find them. I cannot think of any critical issues.

February 1, 2023

4.0

Overall, it's been a positive experience. Having been trained on other more complex systems, I do find it hard sometimes to figure out the "donor snap way". But the support team are there to answer my questions and help me figure it out. I keep learning about new things I can do with this system so I'm sure that a big part of what I haven't been able to do just yet with the system is because I just haven't taken the time to do the training needed to know how best to use it. But it does what I need it to do and it's web-based as well so I can access it anywhere anytime.

Pros

DonorSnap was the perfect solution for our small nonprofit. It helps us track our donations, stay connected to our donors, see what is happening in our organization in terms of what and when donors are connecting with us. It does all we really need it to do at a reasonable price that our small nonprofit can afford. While it hasn't been an entirely intuitive system for us to use, Donor Snap has EXCELLENT customer support with videos and training tools and real people that you can ask questions of. For us, it's been the perfect solution.

Cons

Donor Snap doesn't seem to be able to do all of the reports in the way I would like them to be done- but that also could just be that I haven't done all the training I need to in order to best know how to use this product. Whenever I have needed something, a donor support specialist has been there to try to help me learn how to do it myself or sometimes, just doing it for me when I am completely stumped. The Support Team is what has kept us here for several years. It does what we need it to do and help is always available.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

Main reason was price - it was affordable and did at least the majority of what we were needing it to do.

### "Great CRM software "

November 16, 2021

5.0

Worlds better than the Excel spreadsheets we transitioned from.

Pros

Help tutorials as well as being able to email specific questions. The responses I have received gave always been timely and helpful. Wednesday webinar. Reporting is straightforward and the help functionality is available for assistance in complicated queries.

Cons

We save acknowledgement letters under the docs tab. Currently it is a rather cumbersome. I would love a more streamline process. Mass email functionality is not as robust as I would like.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

I only looked at DonorSnap as it came highly recommended.

### "Excellent, but has a learning curve"

November 11, 2021

5.0

DonorSnap is a great software, and I recommend it for keeping track of donors, acknowledgements, and even mailing lists. I love how customizable everything is (including the payout for my screen, and the apps I have ready to go!) I recommend the software, just make sure you have ample time to train on it before you have to "go live". It can take a little bit. Once you know what you need, though, you can almost always set up your filters, create your templates, upload letters and more, so it's all there when you're ready, every time you need it!

Pros

The webinars are absolutely vital to getting everything out of this software, because DonorSnap does so very many things. I love it for pulling reports, and I appreciate being able to create very detailed, very specific reports. It also helps for mailings, event planning, and much more-- because I can click a few buttons and create a report letting me know which supporters would be most likely to enjoy the event, appreciate the Sponsorship Update, or who asked us to only send them our yearly newsletters. Definitely worth the cost and the flexibility is top-notch.

Cons

The learning curve is a little steep. The hardest part of learning how to use DonorSnap is figuring out what you \*want\* to do with it. I always recommend everyone take the webinars and watch the vids. It can be hard if you need to train a new user very quickly, and can be frustrating as you're learning to use the software. Once you know, you know-- but getting there can feel like an ordeal.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

We chose DonorSnap on the advice of a then-Board member, and our office manager's ability to gain proficiency with it (she was able to train on it very quickly, and liked it so much better than a couple other programs she checked out.)

### "The BEST donor darabase"

February 1, 2023

5.0

When we were looking for a database, I needed some thing that I could learn relatively quickly, and that would be useful for the long haul. Donorsnap met both of those expectations, and was still affordable for our very small nonprofit.

Pros

The customer service is top-notch, dependable, and easily accessible. Not only do they answer your questions, they also provide guidance on how to do what you want to do in the app. Staff are courteous, friendly, and extremely approachable. It doesn’t matter how many bells and whistles an app might have, if you can’t get help when you need it, it is worthless. Donorsnap provides both: an amazing app, and stellar support.

Cons

Some of the set up for online forms or reports can be a bit daunting. However, I have never been in a situation that customer support was not able to help me get through.

Reason for choosing DonorSnap

Donorsnap gave us the biggest bang for your buck, and was raided exceptionally well in customer service, which was extremely important to us. In addition, a similar organization recommended it to us, because they were very pleased with their experience.
