" February 15, 2023 5.0 Pros DonorSnap offers all of the main features we need to manage our donor and volunteer list. Their customer service is incredibly responsive and helpful, and the help page/trainings are so useful. It's an amazing value for the low price! We rely heavily on their forms for collecting donations, and for registering volunteers. Cons Sometimes the platform is a little bit clunky (i.e. the forms take a minute or two to load and people close the window before their form is submitted, and their submission doesn't go through), but there are workarounds. Reason for choosing DonorSnap The price was unbeatable! The other platforms have some flashy features that are just not necessary for a mid-sized nonprofit, and DonorSnap had everything on our wishlist, so it was the obviously choice. My favorite feature is the form builder; the forms integrate nicely with our website and are a great solution for event registration forms that import the data directly into the CRM. I've used both DonorSnap and Saleforce for registration and hands down DonorSnap is far more reliable, simpler, and offers better customization for our needs vs Salesforce. It's also far easier to use both as the administrator and as an end user. I've never had a DonorSnap form fail me. I can't say the same for Salesforce. We use DonorSnap for tracking donors, volunteers, and participants in our programs. DonorSnap keeps their software updated and is very good about offering training and notifications of any server maintenance that may disrupt use (it never does). Cons The report features are very robust but not always intuitive to set up and run. Fortunately if you get stuck, DonorSnap's support team is fabulous and will help you to figure it out. Data Controller Libraries Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great Program for Small Non-profits" February 26, 2022 5.0 I have had a good experience with the customer service at DonorSnap whenever I have had a glitch or "user error". They respond very promptly. Pros Importing data from Access went without much trouble, plus the training ahead of time was helpful. DonorSnap has continued to upgrade their offerings as far as pre-made reports. I also greatly appreciate all of the helpful videos which are available whenever I need them. Cons The only thing I miss is being able to do multiple sorts on data like I did in Access. It interfaces well with Excel. January 22, 2021 5.0 When we started with it we were just trying to keep accurate records of donors' contact information and donations for their IRS records and our planning purposes. It has been easy to keep track of pledges and pledge giving, campaigns and appeal responses, donor designations, memorial, and honorary donations, and so much more. DonorSnap continues to develop its program with additional tools and related services. We are now keeping track of our volunteers and the hours that they give. Information can flow to other software tools like Quickbooks and Constant Contact. Responsive forms integrate with our website. DonorSnap keeps adding tools without raising our cost. Pros Easy to learn. Easy to use. Access from multiple sites by multiple users. No information lost -- all downloadable to Excel. Built-in reports. Fantastic support. Low cost. All of these were things we needed in 2013. We chose DonorSnap and have never been sorry. The annual free National Change of Address service is a real bonus. Cons Some of our younger, more tech-savvy staff find it a bit clunky compared to the much higher priced bells and whistles software that they have used. Review Source SL Suzanne L. Executive Director Performing Arts Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Sharp Learning Curve" February 8, 2023 4.0 When I arrived at the organization, one of my colleagues expressed how daunting DonorSnap was to use and my board wished they had a program that "could do more things". Based on these opinions I didn't even bother to login for quite some time. There were some changes to personnel and I was forced to dive in. At first glance, I was genuinely lost. But DonorSnap provides great video tutorials that are concise and the perfect length. I began delving into the system and felt like I learned something new every time I used it. After a few hours of exploration and my first round of year end contribution statements, I feel very confident using the system. Full utilization of the automation and other features have increased productivity and made my job so much easier. Pros How much functionality and customizability the software has once you spend a little time using and becoming familiar with it. It's never been down or offline anytime I try to access it. The training sessions and videos are well done, easy to access and navigate. Most every question I've had is easily answered on the help site. Customer service is top notch. Cons The system doesn't feel intuitive at the start but once you take a little time to dive into it's functionality you'll be pleased with its capabilities. January 24, 2022 5.0 We've had a great experience with DonorSnap. I'd highly recommend it. Pros DonorSnap is easy to use and has been a great management tool for our organization. We can easily input data and get needed reports, acknowledgment letters and receipts. It also integrates into our accounting software so we have cut data entry time as well. Cons It would be nice to be integrated with other email management software and not just Constant Contact. Customer Service is amazing and the trainings that are provided weekly are very helpful for someone who comes into the company, new to the software. The additional online trainings that are provided on site are excellent when working on something new and need a step by step or know how immediately. Cons Setting everything up the way you want it can be a little tricky as well as modifying once you have set it up a certain way but it does not take away from the total ease and functionality of the system. We have a tight operation budget. Cons The phone number fields are formatted as text. It's not possible to do a simple update for a select group of people. It has to be exported to a spreadsheet, updated in Excel, then reimported into the database. The event planning portion is not what I need it to be. Pros The ease of use of DonorSnap makes it a great tool for donor management and for fundraising. Training new users is easy with new staff. Also, creating reports works for whatever is needed. We have always received quick responses to any questions on service or recommendations for possible upgrades to service. Cons We have not had anything that we do not like about this software. Pros We had been using spreadsheets for all our incoming donations and reporting and we were wasting hours on this. Finding something simple that would help with this was key. DonorSnap was the perfect program for our small non-profit. Cons DonorSnap did not have the ability to create and use our own contribution statements until recently and I appreciate that they have added this function. There are many resources to learn the system. You can do a lot with the system, and it is fairly customizable to meet the needs of the organization and even individual users. On the rare occasions that I've run into issues, customer service has been extremely helpful and prompt in responding. Pros Easy to use, plenty of resources to learn more, excellent customer service, impressive amount of features Cons I honestly can't think of anything. The support team is fantastic with help when requested! I have always been able to resolve any issues! Cons Integration was not a problem though this was installed prior to my arriving at PHSS over 4 years ago. Pros I love the canned reports and the ease of the programs I can create. Cons I run into some difficulty when using Donor Miner to create reports. Volunteer Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Comprehensive Program for a Reasonable Cost" January 26, 2021 5.0 Pros This software allows for good record keeping and getting away from paper recordkeeping. It removes the risk of only one person being familiar with paper records. If something happened to that one person, no one else would know where to pick up from. At least with Donor Snap, tech support could get anyone up to speed. Nothing would be lost. Cons Tech support imported the database from Excel. Their training helped to become functional with what we needed this program for. My only recommendation is that each time a report is done, the program should automatically default to active only. I once ran a set of mailing labels and had not clicked on active only, and newsletters were sent to every name in the database. Some in the inactive had moved and didn't have forwarding addresses, and some were deceased. It was quite embarrasing to make this mistake. Reason for choosing DonorSnap The cost of Donor Snap was not outrageous, and it was going to fulfill the functions we were looking for. One benefit we didn't know about until we started using the program was the great tech support. They respond quickly and can go into your database and reports to tell you what you did wrong and guide you forward. Review Source KP Kathleen P. We have no issues with data integrity or exporting to Constant Contact. We do not manage a complicated set of donors. I've heard that the reason to upgrade to a different product is the ability to parse sets of donors by capability. Pros Donorsnap is all in the cloud, training is straightforward and our team can remember how to use it. Cons Integration with Quickbooks has been improved over time. Now it's less complicated. We depend on that and we pay someone to do it. it needs to be done frequently by someone, not a random volunteer. but that's ok. It works. The product has great value for a reasonable cost. I have now used the product for over seven years and continue to upgrade the customization of the product to meet our growing needs. Easier to find things! We have been using it about a year now. Still fitting our needs! Still really liking it! Cons I don't have any complaints about DonorSnap, but I've had a few issues with their on-line purchasing partner GoEmerchant. Sometimes our transactions didn't go through as anticipated--sometimes a day or two late. We also had a gala event and many of our transactions from the event did not go through--and there was no indication that they didn't. I had one of their Customer Reps say that it may have been that the number and dollar amounts of the transactions may have tripped a fraud trigger. They told me to call ahead next time and notify them. Ugh! Non-profits have major events with large transactions! I ended up having to follow up with may donors--fortunately, they were understanding and supportive. I pray that doesn't happen again! I can't say enough how impressed I am with the support services and how quickly I get a response with very in-depth instructions and even pictures to guide me through. Pros I am very thankful for the support services team and their swift response to my questions. I really enjoy the Affiliated, Persona, and Constituent codes. The webinars are very helpful and cover basic to intermediate needs. Cons The website's look isn't very aesthetically pleasing and could look more up-to-date.
