Director Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: 2+ years ### "A fairly simple but very good data base management system" February 26, 2022 4.0 We are primarily a nonprofit organization and using DoorSnap to build a database for fundraising. As donations are received, thank-you notes are sent or emailed to acknowledge the donation, now a simple process once as the donation type is tagged when entered and can be matched to a type of stored letter. These can be created and sent by batch rather than individually for mailing or emailing. We also use DonorSnap to double check the correct postings in QuickBooks (in both systems!) The very best thing I personally like about DonorSnap is the quick, thorough and patient responses that I have always received when I call for Support! Pros The Report Writer is a great feature that can be used to analyze/report out the data in multiple ways since a report can be created from any of the many available fields within the data base. Adding contacts is also a simple process as is making changes or merging duplicates. The acknowledgment system for donations and especially the new custom feature for Contributions is a huge time saver with a professional, personalized appearance. Cons It would be helpful if the search functions did not require exact spellings but would suggest all that come close. There are occasional glitches in the search function. There are many terms and options that I still do not fully understand unless one of them happens to cause me an issue and I need to call Support for help. A dictionary of every term/option including where used and the results of using/not using would be a great help and likely would likely expose more useful features that I am not now aware of. I would love to be able to "data-fix" specific fields within the contacts without having to create a spreadsheet and uploading. June 16, 2022 5.0 I have been very happy with DonorSnap and their customer service is the best! They are very responsive to customer requests and questions!! Pros DonorSnap is such a comprehensive donor management program. I like the many features it has for donor and donation tracking, the information it provides to our organization's development, and the ability it has to provide receipting and donor communication. There are so many features and possibilities that I feel I have only touched on all it can do! I especially like the new duplicate donation feature! Cons I would like DonorSnap to be able to integrate with more payment programs such as STRIPE, PayPal, etc. As a non-profit, we have to keep our costs as low as possible so being able to use the payment processing program we choose is important. Cons Like anything, some people find online programs like DonorSnap easy and intuitive, while others just cannot grasp what is going on. We have some of that going on in our nonprofit. Some of the fields were set-up in a way that doesn't make sense to me, and that creates more work in the long-run. I've been updating fields and moving the database into a more user-friendly format. Pros I love DonorSnap because it is an easy to use Donor Management System. I've been using it since January 2021. I've attended many of the training webinars (which are free and occur weekly) and learned so much every time. This software is easy-to-use and easy to learn. The layout is customizable and full of information right at your fingertips. I especially love the DataMiner Platinum custom report builder. I've impressed my colleagues with the amount of information I can provide in a quick turn-around. Cons So far, I've been very happy with everything. February 1, 2023 5.0 As mentioned, Donorsnap's support is the best experience I have had with any company. The training videos are perfect length, and easy to understand. If you email support, they answer your questions, and help you in a very timely manner. If your request is more complicated, they will create the form, file, etc. that you need. Pros The thing I like most about the software is the support given to the customer. I started using the software about 1 1/2 yr ago, with little training from the previous user. I relied on the training videos and support. The 30 minute training videos are valuable and well organized. If contacting support, the email response is wonderful. The turn around time is impeccable, and they always solve your issue. They have always solved my issue within 24 hours. A true pleasure to work with them. You are able to customize your acknowledgements, as detailed as you like that are automatically generated. Donations can be categorized by event, as well as type of donation. Lots of flexibility. Cons Donorsnap is a very robust software, and I lack the knowledge about many of the features it can perform. I need more time to watch the videos, explore and learn. I continue to learn each week. The dashboard is also nice and easy to customize. Recently added is the ability to import online donations directly into the software. There are many fields you can customize and the new custom contribution statements are great. There is the ability to set up emails from the system. We have not used this yet but it seems to be a great new function. Cons I find the "Data Miner Platinum" reporting function the most confusing part of the software. Some items are not very intuitive to me. I previously worked with another donor management program so maybe this is part of the problem as it worked quite a bit differently. Although I can do many reports on my own, I definately get stuck every now and then. Fortunately I can usually get a fairly quick email response from DonorSnap support regarding the problem. Having all our donor demographic and donation history in one place is great and can be accessed from anywhere. We are able to process thank you letters directly through DonorSnap. The software has multiple reports available and the capability to create your own reports if needed. There are some features of DonorSnap such as the integration with Constant Contact and Quickbooks that we have yet to utilize. Pros DonorSnap is a very user-friendly software, easy to use and master. There are weekly online trainings offered for those who need a little help or refresher. Cons What's there to complain about. . .the font size could be larger, that's about it. Pros The help and support area - this is the best help and support team -Instructional videos provide easy to follow assistance for every area of donorsnap. The help area - especially the contact support, is extremely fast to respond to questions and issues. For example, I needed help cleaning up our data base and I sent a spreadsheet of names to help center. In less than 10 minutes, the database was cleaned up for me. Amazing group for tech support. Cons Reports are always difficult, especially if you are trying to be very specific about a population. However, the weekly help sessions and videos are very good in working through reports. Tech support is knowledgeable and always there when needed. Being able to adjust and manipulate the layout and add or take away what works for the organization is wonderful, it's like building your own personal database, and you can't beat the price. Pros Excellent for keeping track of donations, contact information, and correspondence with donors. It is user-friendly for the most part, but easy access to the instructional videos really helps when needed. Cons It would be nice to be able to contact support by phone, but all in all the support with DonorSnap is very helpful and responds to inquiries very quickly via email. I would really love it if the database was able to integrate with PayPal so I wouldn't have to enter each donation individually, or worry that another user might miss a donation entry or detail. The support is stellar. The product is versatile and so powerful. I got rid of a duplicate software because DonorSnap was an overall better product that did more. Pros DonorSnap is very powerful and flexible software. You can search for almost anything in most fields. You can set up any custom query you can think of. It does so many things well, and they are always adding features and improving things. Additionally, it is very well supported. If you don't know how to do something: 1) there's a contextual help link right to the help database OR 2) you can check out the recorded webinars for how to do a thing OR 3) there are responsive and supportive helpdesk staff who respond to questions very quickly. Cons I think that the webforms would benefit from conditional logic, as sometimes we have to make several webforms instead of just one. There are also several places where information needs to be changed when you change certain things. That can be frustrating and confusing, but it is part of making it the most powerful and customizable it can be. There is so much to learn that you feel you will never know it all, but there is plenty of help when you run into this! It's wonderful to be able to create and customize (and save) reports you use on a monthly basis. It's easy to pull a mailing list, renewal list with email, etc. Pros The interface is so easily customizable, you don't have records cluttered with fields you don't need or use. The online trainings (most accessible 24/7) are wonderful, and the resources and guides are very helpful. Best of all - the DonorSnap support team is VERY FAST and responsive - I can't tell you how much that means to a time-strapped staff person. If I get stuck, it's often resolved the same day. Cons Writing a query for a report is sometimes frustrating, as is navigating to the correct place to change or add a field. It is most likely because my time is limited and I tend to push ahead instead of stopping and searching properly in the "help" function. We are looking forward to expanding our use of DonorSnap for member communications and for volunteer management. Pros Although not specifically designed for tracking memberships in our non-profit organization, DonorSnap is easily customizable to accommodate this function. It is straightforward to use and the user-defined fields provide all the fields needed to manage and track our membership donations. DonorSnap allows us to easily send renewal notices and reminders to more than 450 members, with custom cover letters. Reports are easy to run and customize, including producing mailing labels for our newsletter. Having the ability to set up a personalized dashboard and select specific fields for the various screens is important and easy to do. Probably one of the best features is the support that is provided. The online resources available, including webinars and detailed step-by-step instruction guides, are excellent. There are always new training webinars being offered on DonorSnap features. The support from customer service is also excellent with quick responses and follow-up if needed. Conversion and support team were very helpful and prompt in responding to issues. Pros Very inexpensive but can do all the basic functionalities for advancement day to day operations. Batch entry is so easy once you understand how it works. Query, reporting and exporting custom reports is very user friendly. As with all other systems, a software is only capable to it’s fullest potential if you understand how the various modules within the system work together. Training and support is crucial and their customer support is hands-on one of the best.! Cons The standard reports work for the most part but I wish it gives us much more flexibility. It also limits selection of fields based on active fields/codes which means that you’ll have to basically leave all codes - old and new - for the report to work accurately. This means for example that if you inactivate a Campaign code from 2 or 3 years ago, you are not able to run revenue from those codes unless you reactivate them. This is a nightmare for admins from a table code management point. The design of the standard reports need to be improved as well to look presentable especially when executives ask for last minute reporting and you know how often that happens. Although it's tricky to use the more complex options the email customer support is very responsive. It would be better if you have phone customer support. Pros I love the ease of using the software, accessing records in the database, and creating reports. We use DonorSnap to send membership drives, annual appeals, and everything works seamlessly. Cons When I go into "Donation History" the default is to only list the last ten donations. I wish it would just list all of them so I have the full picture. Every time I log in I need to remember to update that to "show 100." Otherwise I'm writing notes thanking people for their decade of history, when I should be thanking them for over twenty years. December 19, 2017 5.0 Pros This database does everything we need it to and more. We're a smaller non-profit with 1500 donors. The database makes searching for information and pulling reports simple while providing all the details we need. The BEST part of DonorSnap is their incredible customer support team. They've never taken more than a few minutes to respond to email questions with clear and concise answers. They answer in a way that not only gives you what you need, but teaches you how to find it next time. This team is really on top of their game. Our organization also just launched the new partnership DonorSnap has with goEmerchant for our online giving and feedback from our donors has been very positive. Nice to have it all in one system. Cons This software is not flashy or polished. Then again it doesn't have a premium price tag. Once you learn the software though you'll find it has everything most people need to successfully manage an organizations donors/volunteers/etc. I think there are a few functions that would be great to add, but honestly, when I've asked the support team - 2/3 of the time they are already working on that next new feature! For example - one area that is lacking is regional donor search features. We have donors all across the country and when I go visit a certain area it would be great to search for all donors within 50 miles of a certain zip code for example. The price is reasonable for a small organization. Pros We needed a database for member management. Previously we had used an Excel spreadsheet, then moved to SalesForce, but that was overkill for our purpose. The features in DonorSnap along with the monthly price was reasonable for our uses. The online help as well as the support are very helpful. Cons Having to integrate with only GoEmerchant is limiting. Everything works, but it would be nice to allow other payment processors. We don't have the ability to swipe credit cards for payments at an event.
