One-of-a-kind expense management tool" April 2, 2026 5.0 It's become a pretty important part of my small business and accounting for expenses. I can do it all from the convenience of my phone by doing screenshots of receipts and quick uploads. Pros It makes managing my business credit card expenses simple. And make it easy to upload receipts, photograph and even email them to my expensify account. At the end of the month, my expense report is quick and accurate. My accountant appreciates it all of the detail. Cons I don't have many negatives but sometimes the setup can be difficult. The app and the web page differ so much. Pros I like that Expensify is very easy to use. I have enjoyed working with this app to upload my receipts and expenses directly to it so that I can get all of that taken care of in one simple app. I’m able to report all my transactions on a daily basis and get everything squared away. My team enjoy working with this app I am so glad they picked it for our company. It is a very valuable program that any customer would enjoy using. I haven’t ran into any issues at all with it. Easy to set up, easy to train people and easy to use. Pros Expensify is very user friendly - it's extremely easy to upload receipts, add purchase details and find the appropriate coding for your company's GL/charge categories for your particular expense. On the company/employer side, it is an easy system to set up and rollout and is also great for auditing and reviewing employees' expenses and generating reports. Cons It's a great expense reimbursement system. Makes you split expenses into 2 or more reports depending on the trip. It is a hassle to split and not take into considerations ALL the expenses in 1 report. Usually airfare come first, and expenses related to the trip come in other reports. Not common sense. Pros It facilitates the management of expenses from a Finance department point of view. Somehow helps track expenses. Cons It is not very friendly and coherent from a user point of view. It is not helpful when travelling month end and overlapping with the next month. the business trip has not ended and it already asks to fill a report when expenses for the trip are still happening. We like a lot because it's super easy to use thanks to their AI integration. Also their mobile app is wonderful. You can upload very fast your expenses. Pros I started using Expensidy because the team grew Up and some of them were in need of reporting all the expensas in one place rather than using different tools or miss any expense. I nevera used the customer supoort but their welcomed series email were so cool and helped a lot the first 2 weeks. And I have monthly call with accountant, Expensify is the essential tool to manage expense data and show it to my accountant in a timely manner and with accuracy Pros The ease of use, I had frequent trip to Korea, China, and Taiwan few years back. Currency conversion from local currency to Japanese Yen is automatic in Expensify, It saved tons of time for small company owner. Cons Localization ~ Japanese In Japan, company tax id is in every receipts and need to enter that to record. unfortunately, Expensify does not have capability to detect it and save that to record. The fact that there is a smartphone application makes it so that you don't have a weekly/monthly wad of receipts that you have to report/track. For me, when travelling, I would say that I lose about 20-30% of my receipts each trip, each month. Pros It is extremely convenient to take a picture of your receipt and have Expensify automatically create the expense item for you. It will capture vendor/company, dates, $ amounts, etc. All you need to do is confirm and add customers and reason for expense. Cons Sometimes Expensify will duplicate expenses if you aren't patient. If you take a picture or upload a receipt then simultaneously try to manually edit, it will create two duplicate expenses and not accept one of them. First, I would like to be able to remove receipt images on my profile. Second, I think there should be an option to check "missing receipt" or "no receipt was provided" to handle cases where a receipt was simply not provided from the merchant, and a textbox that allows the submitter to add context. Third, the new Expensify layout can be completely blocked (it will say that it locked by admin) when the old one is usable. Pros I liked some of the features including OCR scanning of receipts as it made submission of international receipts easier. I also liked the mileage tool and that it can handle multiple stops. Cons Some of the UI is very buggy or isn't intuitive. When submitting receipts, it automatically pauses your workflow while the OCR is reading it. This can take several minutes and sometimes it's far quicker to submit details manually. Also, if you add a receipt but do not attach it to a specific report, there does not seem to be any way to remove it so it stays on your profile indefinitely which is super annoying. It's an easy user interface that is friendly for all employees and helps connect managers, HR, finance, and employees together. Cons I wish there was a better way to combine some line items into one. For example, when I upload tolls, it submits each one individually, but I'd rather have a lump sum instead of submitting $0.76 three times.
