I can do it all from the convenience of my phone by doing screenshots of receipts and quick uploads. Pros It makes managing my business credit card expenses simple. And make it easy to upload receipts, photograph and even email them to my expensify account. At the end of the month, my expense report is quick and accurate. My accountant appreciates it all of the detail. Cons I don't have many negatives but sometimes the setup can be difficult. The app and the web page differ so much. From upgrading our subscription without notifying us and overcharging us behind our back, to never replying to my requests for help and our site specialist being consistently unreliable... and it gets worse. They wouldn't even let us CLOSE the account without going back and forth. There's also no phone support and Concierge is automated and deliberately sends back generic, frustrating messages that have NOTHING to do with what you are asking. Seriously, save yourself the headache and don't even try this platform unless you want annoying emails several times a month and charges with no explanation. Pros Nothing- it was a nightmare to try and use. Don't use it if you can avoid it. Easy to set up, easy to train people and easy to use. Pros Expensify is very user friendly - it's extremely easy to upload receipts, add purchase details and find the appropriate coding for your company's GL/charge categories for your particular expense. On the company/employer side, it is an easy system to set up and rollout and is also great for auditing and reviewing employees' expenses and generating reports. Cons It's a great expense reimbursement system. The only feedback I can think of is that it does not seem to allow a user to add multiple receipts at a time for one expense (unless I just haven't noticed how to do this yet :) Review Source LX Livia X. For a company with as many people in the field as SoundThinking, it just works. Cons The biggest frustration is that Expensify only solves half the problem — we still need a separate tool for travel booking, which means employees are constantly switching between platforms for what should be one seamless workflow. The integration setup (particularly with Uber) is also more complicated than it should be, and the handoff to NetSuite for back-end accounting still requires more manual effort from Finance than we'd like. The UI needs a lot of improvement. The team should focus on the app from the perspective of a new user and right now for a first time user, its a bit confusing. Also, the app reached through the inbox option should be the face of the app when you log in. Also, the SQL sorting that the app uses is not great as it returns false data. Pros It is easier to track expenses and I believe its easy to view and approve the expenses as well. I like the category wise bifurcation. On my laptop, it flows nicely and the legacy version, in my opinion, is more versatile. Payments and reimbursements are better there as you can easily create a report there. Cons I would prefer it was also segregated date wise and a subtotal was displaced for each date. Mobile app needs improvement. It could be similar to SmartReceipts app where it is much easier to upload and submit the receipts. Pros Expensify has a clean, no fuss interface that makes recording expenses and filing for reimbursements a painless and easy process. The change log at the bottom of each report makes it super easy to learn what the expense team is changing post-submittal so you can make sure to set the fields the way they expect and make it an even smoother process to get your money! Cons I have been using Expensify for about a year now and have not run into any cons that I can think of for what we use it for. It’s reliable, powerful, and once everything is set up, it makes tracking expenses and reimbursements almost effortless. I really appreciate how mature the product feels and how well it fits both personal use and business workflows, which is why I always come back to it when I’m running my own business. Cons I’m not a big fan of the new user interface. It feels like a step back in clarity and efficiency compared to the previous (“legacy”) design, which I still prefer. The expense classification is accurate and learns quickly when you add the same vendor a second time. I also find it very easy to have an email forward inbox that can recognize multiple incoming email addresses. Cons The duplicate expense detection can get overly aggressive. I have valid expenses in the same amount from the same vendor on the same day that are not duplicates - like airline wifi charges on a longer trip - but they always get flagged. It's easy to use, and I especially love that I can take a picture of a receipt with my phone and have the system fill out the majority of the fields in the expense report, or forward an email receipt (like a hotel or airline receipt) directly to Expensify to add the expense. Pros Taking receipt photos in the app, uploading photos of receipts, and email forwarding receipts all allow expense entry with less typing.
