October 17, 2018 5.0 Pros Love that the employees can use Expensify to keep track of all their expenses and travels. All they need to do it log in daily or weekly. They can even snap a picture of their receipt and the app does the rest! Cons nothing really, although maybe they can give loyal customers a discount. December 5, 2019 5.0 A great way to never have to stress about expenses. What more could you ask for? Pros Great mobile app! Not just the website wrapped in a mobile app container or anything, a real great mobile app! Smartscan automatically reads receipts for you using your camera. How neat is that? Monthly cost is fair and updates are frequent. This is a well made application that will simplify a usually stressful part of your work. Cons I've had the camera freeze up before. I think it might be an API issue that is fixed now but there's always that fear of losing your data from a freeze. All has been well thus far though. Review Source Laurie G. This allowed exactly that and made it easier for the photographer as they didn't need to worry about piles of paper receipts Pros Automated reports including PDF attachments containing all scanned & photoed receipts were a fantastic time saver for me! Pros You can easily integrate your corporate card or regular card into the app. No more screen shots. They even offer a card now so you don't have to save receipts. Cons It is confusing because they use a lot of icons. Makes it hard to realize what is what at first. But after you use it it's fine. The app is a lot better than web. I liked having a way to keep all of my expenses in one place without paper receipts. I only stopped using it because another software system I started using also had this capability. Pros I used this tool only for myself, not my employees. It is handy when traveling especially. I kept track of expenses and receipts. February 19, 2019 5.0 Pros Expensify is extremely user friends and both the mobile app and web version are a pleasure to work with. This software has done a great job modernizing and keeping up to date as technology shifts. Cons There aren't may cons that I have using this software. The Reports/Expenses feature can be bit redundant at first depending on how you use the software but they aren't deal breakers. Review Source Barry P. MD Management Consulting Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Difficult product to navigate with little to no support" February 9, 2018 2.0 Cons Many cons with this product, mostly around poor support but the biggest issue I have is that Expensify incorrectly coded the date for a receipt which meant it was missed when the report for that month was run. I sub-contract to a firm who contracts me to other firms for projects. The project has finished and closed down several months ago and I have no way of getting my money back. June 18, 2019 4.0 From all the other products i tried, this is by far the best and easiest to use. Pros The best feature is the smartscan feature. Once you set up the currency, it segregates everything accordingly and saves you the trouble of manually entering it. Even if you have no internet connection, it saves the request and once u go online it will analyze the scan and store it for you.The reports generated are also very well detailed. Cons I had a technical error, maybe it was my mistake, because it didnt happen to any of my other collegues where the expense trip report closed automatically. But that is easily solved by logging on the web version and activiating it again. Snap a picture of a receipt and let the software do the rest. It's like having your own personal finance assistant. I love it! Cons I've had a few issues here and there with the credit card import sync, importing expenses properly from bank account. I've also had a few sync issues with quickbooks category sync. Operations Manager Used the software for: ### "Overall a Good Tool" March 19, 2015 4.0 The expense reporting feature works great for setting up rules and workflows to get things processed, and keep reports organized. Customer services response time is great, and everyone seems very helpful and friendly! Only disappointment was the function for categorizing credit card transactions is a bit of a pain (especially if you make a variety of different purchases from a company like Amazon and are constantly re-classifying them). We actually stopped using this feature of the tool because it took longer to do our monthly credit card reporting in Expensify than it did on an excel spreadsheet that we would upload to QuickBooks. This isn't something that we hear a lot of complaints about so I am wondering if there is something we could do to help you streamline this process. Without knowing more about your specific use case I want to bring your attention to our Help page has a few options for troubleshooting: http://help.expensify.com/rules/. In short, you can: edit categories directly from the Expenses page. Select a category right when capturing receipt images on our mobile app. Use Expense Rules to pre-assign categories to different merchants. This wouldn't address the Amazon use case, but for merchants that are always categorized the same, (such as restaurants) this will automatically apply categories for you. Literally a child could use it. Simply email your receipt and the app does the rest! Pros We no longer have to use paper expense reports, which is awesome since half of our workforce is remote. February 13, 2019 4.0 It was pretty easy to learn for our organization, and the picture capture tool for receipts works great right away. Way better than our paper system! Pros I love being able to capture receipts from my cell phone and choose which category to bill them too. Works great for categorizing receipts on the spot! I also love how it automatically captures info off the picture so I don’t have to do the work of entering merchant, total, date, etc. Cons I don’t love the way you have to make a report and submit it- I wish there was a way to submit a receipt on its own without having to go through the extra step of making a report and submitting again. Pros Having the email forwarding capability is invaluable for our team. The app functionality is also great and easy to use. Both of these help keep our expenses organized and helps prevent our team from losing those tiny receipts! Cons The copilot switching can be a little clunky and not terribly intuitive, but the feature is great. Cons Their inability to take responsibility when the platform's features breaks down. Suddenly the Bank of America connection was down, and in investigating this they just said they did not know when that would be up and running again. This was after an extensive e-mail exchange with customer service, that also appeared less then well informed about functions and features. It saves so much time! Cons There are a select number of bankcards you can set to import from.
