It's innovative, truly easy to use, and constantly improving. My favorite thing is how easy it is to create and submit expense reports. Cons Expensify can take a little bit of getting used to at first, especially if you are used to an old-school clunky expense management tool, but it's not bad at all and well worth it in the long run. May 7, 2018 4.0 Pros The software is just as easy to use on the app as it is online. I feel that it is pretty intuitive; not much training needed to get individuals onboarded. I also appreciate the approval process setup. Cons The only real issue I'm come across so far is that there are time where I need to put merge multiple expense reports. It would be nice if you could start on the summary expense as the template (the one where you see the summary of all the expenses and their category) instead of starting in the individual expense entry. Also, it'd be nice to have easier functionality around adding multiple receipts for one expense entry. Pros I love how you can upload your receipts and print everything out at the end of the year. I have various expenses throughout the year and I'm constantly on the go. The Expensify App helps me make sure I don't miss anything important. Pros It was easy to use but a recent change makes it cumbersome. Cons I was so happy with using Expensify at our company but no longer am and we are looking for a replacement. They have removed a feature that now makes using the software cumbersome. You used to be able to approve the expense report and share your approval with your accounting department. Pros This app works great and it is very useful for my business. It's easy to use and keep track of expenses, especially for someone who doesn't know too much about accounting or finances. Pros It puts in place a reliable process for receiving reimbursements for business expenses. That, in itself, is a very useful thing to have at any company. Cons The distinction between "Expenses" and "Reports" is not immediately clear and Expensify does not do a good job explaining the difference. Just click OK and the expense is forward to the right person Cons The OCR is a joke. It simply does not work. Once company credit cards are linked, it shows up in in individual profiles with an easy way to code and add receipts in. Managers can review and approve expenses from other staff and the list of built in vendors is long. It's been such an improvement and time saver from the PDF submission we used before. Cons Customer Service is sooo bad if anything goes wrong! Don't use it with Microsoft Exchange as suddenly all basic uploads stop working and Customer Service should not be given that name in this company as they simply have no idea how to provide a service. The site is optimized to get your in and out, simplifying the process of submitting expenses, being compliant, and getting reimbursed. The mobile app is indispensable for taking snapshots of receipts for attachments along with OCR to fill in necessary details. Expensify integrates nicely with most SSO providers to make authorization seamless. Cons It would be nice to have customizable views of the expense report, i.e. by day. This would allow me to easy see how the expenses compare to the daily limits. Expensify also does a fair amount of outbound but not enough that it's annoying. Review Source MM Mairead M. Reconciling the credit card statement is simple. Pros I can upload the transactions to QuickBooks and all the backup receipts are stored electronically. No more paper files! Pros It's really easy to use and is available on a variety of platforms to allow seamless tracking of expenses, especially travel expenses. Receipts can be easily scanned in and digitized and the report generation is basically automatic. It's a lifesaver for a small business. Cons There's not much I don't like about it, but the only thing seems to be the GUI could need a little overhaul adding different colors for better readability. My refund is dropped right back in to my account! Cons I really don't like how the app SmartScans by default. April 17, 2018 5.0 Pros I love the ability to track EVERYTHING, from receipts to mileage to credit cards, all in one place. The online access is fantastic for business trips. I no longer have to wait until I'm home to calculate and input incurred expenses. Cons The fact that the reports need to be submitted and approved is probably very helpful in most businesses, but in the church, as the pastor, I use it for personal accountability so that I have records if needed and to have them for tax purposes.
