We highly recommend it to all our clients, especially for the mobile app! You can take a picture of your receipt right on your phone from the app, and using smart scan, it will even put all the information in right from the receipt (name, amount etc). Then you can code everything and make a report and submit For clients who have trouble with receipts, this couldn't get any easier. We also like that you can have multiple levels or approvals, download credit card transactions right into the program, reimburse employees , and it all syncs to QBO. Can't recommend it enough, it makes expense reporting a breeze. The mobile app is great for taking pictures of receipts on the go, and the ability to forward e-mail receipts to the software cuts down the processing time by so much. At previous companies without Expensify I've had to manually input every expense for business trips and it ended up taking so much time. Cons Most of the user interface is set up well, but I've had a few instances where an expense report was finished but it wasn't abundantly clear that it had not been submitted. As a user, I appreciated filing for reimbursements with less hassle. Pros This product made the reimbursement process more convenient, such that I didn’t have to contact a bunch of people and submit paperwork and wait for a long time to be reimbursed expenses I incurred from the job. The feature for using prior expenses as a template helped me quickly fill out the form. Cons It took some time to get used to using, but it just took one person showing me things around. Pros Usually expense reports are the things most employees hate to do. Expensify turns that on its head with its delightful UX. While taking a photo of a receipt and having the app auto populate expense fields has been done before, Expensify enhances the experience through lightning fast app and website performance. I also like the usage-based pricing model, which allows you to open up Expensify to the entire company from the beginning. You can configure different expense policies for different regions which simplifies accounting across multiple regions. Approval workflows for expense reports is very straightforward. Cons Occasionally the receipt-scanning feature would not pick up the receipt details. This was especially the case when dealing with non-English receipts. The system is also not away the smartest when it comes to flagging specific expenses for non-compliance, it tends to have many false-positives. Review Source Thomas H. I like that it has helped me achieve some form of financial discipline over time by observing my expense therefore, I like the benefits it provides in my life. Pros What I like about Expensify is that it makes it so easy to track my expenses and keep track of my spending hence it helps me make informed decisions regarding my money and expenses. Cons The things I don't like about Expensify are that it is not free. However, that could be an internal operational hurdle. Also sometimes the auto upload/field fill function stalls and/or takes several minutes...to the point where it's faster and easier to just manually add receipt information. Submitting receipts for travel expenses are made easy with Expensify. No need to hold on to receipts for a long time and worry about losing them, just take a snapshot with the Expensify app and its all taken care of. Expense reports couldn't be any easier! Cons The app is a little slow in terms of scanning and filling in the details automatically, but those are small potatoes when compared to the overall benefit that Expensify brings to getting reimbursements. Pros This software has a great user interface (beautiful design), is very user-friendly and easy to use, and is very useful when filing expenses at work. The tool makes it really easy to upload and submit receipts. Expensify will also learn patterns of how you flag expenses and use that to predict simar expenses in the future. Pros Expensify's auto-capture feature is a real time-saver. I can easily upload a receipt and Expensify will detect the dates, amount and vendor and populate that into the request. From there you review and submit the report from the approver. It's also helpful that you are updated as your request moves along the approval line. Cons As a user who simply submits my cell phone bill for reimbursement every month, I have no complaints. Pros uploading receipts, auto-filling of fields, great UI, very intuitive flow through the steps. Also, it flags errors for you to ensure accurate reporting Cons the mobile scanning on the app is a great feature, but it significantly lags when you're using the direct upload tool. July 16, 2019 2.0 When the software is working, it's fine. God forbid you should have a problem requiring tech support. Since they don't offer phone support, problems that any other company could solve in less than a hour can drag on for days and weeks. They offer a variety of excuses why they don't but as all other major companies do offer it, their excuses ring hollow. The bottom line is that it would cost them more money which they are unwilling to spend to do a better job. Pros Nothing that a different software can't also do. I really like the feature where you can email the receipt and it uploads. I can add explanations of my purchases and group multiple employees onto a bill. Cons "Smart Scan" is kind of a scam, we found out it's just people manually going through to update them. It takes hours or days to do, so now I just manually input everything. It would also be great if we could verify a cash purchase, ie we prepaid for a meal on a card, but still needed to tip, so we tipped in cash, but its really hard to log/prove that. Compared to other enterprise expense reporting systems, the is 99% of the battle. The mobile app works well to scan receipts and repopulate fields. Approving expenses is very straightforward, Expensify will flag entries that require review. Report generation is a bit limited but sufficient for my needs. Cons The \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] tends to directly email users and provide political commentary which I feel is unnecessary. Also they keep promoting and pushing their Expensify credit card, to the point where it's excessive. Sometimes the receipt scan doesn't register or work and I have to manually enter data. Instead of having to keep a wallet full of receipts it now takes 5 minutes to make an expense claim Cons Genuinly can't think of anything I dislike about the product, it's a massive shift for the better for any user. I enjoy the email notifications telling me when I have expenses that need reviewing and coding. It's also nice to be able to click multiple items and edit them all at once. Pros I love that I can take a picture of a receipt in the app and it will auto match it to the charge when it appears in my inbox. Cons I hate that smart scanning takes SO long. It also tries to guess how you will code something based on previous coding history but it is almost always wrong in my case. I can easily categorize things for the accounting team and most importantly, there's a clear communication channel if there are any disputes with my expenses. I can handle that on a dedicated platform and it helps with my overall organization. Cons I think the business logic in the software could be improved to make it more intuitive.
