### "A must have software for your Practice"

July 20, 2022

4.0

Improved our productivity.

Pros

Managing multiple clinics in a single software was a challenge but with Curve it became very easy, we could see center wise appoitment, reports. Since its cloud based software, we could access it anywhere - anytime.

Cons

We had some difficulty with training a not techinical staff. sometimes it takes a while to get software as there are lot features.

### "Very pleased I made the transition to modern cloud-based Curve from my old industry standard softwar"

September 6, 2022

5.0

Simply excellent.

Pros

Support and training is top notch, period. They answer every single time and have a ticket system in the software for non-urgent issues, questions, or suggestions. Why don't more do this? Also really like their claims management which is included and the price for the features is reasonable and less than what I was paying to cobble together the same types of features with my old "#1 industry leading software." Transitions are always work, but I'm convinced that Curve set us up for success and I cannot believe how frequently they make meaningful and impactful software updates (monthly!) without additional cost. I suspect that some of the old legacy software vendors don't simply because it is a pain to update every server and workstation (time, frustration, after hours, and sometimes creates massive issues post-update). Curve has none of these issues, they update it in the background and the features are "magically" available without any of my time running around to each station. Time is money and time is frustration and Curve saves me both.

Cons

The Clinical notes are reasonable and you can make templates, however, I wish you were able to make more flexible response based templates. A minor issue.

### "Depends on specialty of the office. "

September 23, 2014

3.5

Pros

It's so user-friendly and you can adjust settings so easy as well.

Cons

I think it's too easy to schedule appointments on top of each other. The billing is not easy to read, because it separates it by transaction, and then the transaction is no longer visable after it's paid. There is no way to select a procedure not to be billed to insurance in a billing transaction. You cannot transfer credits between family members in the same account. The tabs in the charting can be confusing as well. I think all existing, and current treatment plan should be together, not separated. You cannot keep track in the charting what was diagnosed when, because it deletes the date when the treatment is completed. There are too many placed where the fee schedule can be adjusted to allow for mistakes later. If the insurance is modified, the treatment plan has to be deleted and re-entered for the patient to be correct. I don't see a point in tags in the appointment when it doesn't enter the procedures in the appointment title. It seems like a lot of work to schedule an appointment, because you have too many options. The entry of birth dates is harder than it needs to be. Emails cannot be used in more than one person's profile. Cancelled claims should be able to be deleted from the system. It's confusing when auditing past due claims. There is no way to input how much maximum is left on a patient's insurance for treatment plan purposes. Treatment plans don't factor in secondary insurance coverage. Scanned documents should be able to be grouped in files and letters instead of making a separate entry for every page. Charting on the teeth is too sensitive.

We appreciate Raquel's comments. She brings to light a number of topics we'd like to address. - Scheduling Appointments. The flexibility of our scheduler does allow you to schedule on top of other appointments. Long-time customers have not found this to be a negative; however, we understand Raquel's concern and are taking steps to modify this functionality--quite soon, actually. - Invoice Accounting vs {WHAT DTX AND ES USE}. Curve Dental uses invoice accounting, which has many advantages. Because most of the dental profession is using older management systems that display information in other ways, our new customers may find Curve Dental's accounting style a little different. Once proper training is completed our customers see the advantages of invoice accounting as it presents a more logical grouping of billing information. Specific to Raquel's comments, paid transactions are hidden after 30 days to make more efficient use of space, but with two clicks all transactions can be viewed. - Billing to Insurance. If there's a particular procedure you would rather not bill to insurance, you simply omit that item in the insurance claim. - Transferring Credits Between Family Members. If all family members share one responsible party, then yes, credit can be shared between family members. However, if the family members have different responsible parties, then one account would have to be refunded and the other credited, which can be done quickly. - Displaying Existing and Current Treatment. Graphically, existing treatment and the current treatment plan can be viewed at the same time. Line-by-line details can be viewed for either existing procedures or planned procedures by clicking on the corresponding tabs in the chart. - Diagnosis Date. If you're concerned about the date that a procedure was diagnosed, you can access a quick report to retrieve that information; it is not deleted. - Fee Schedule Adjustments. Fee schedules can be assigned to a specific patient or when setting up an insurance plan (which determines how the insurance portion is calculated). When creating a treatment plan, you also have the option to select a different fee guide, but the default is the fee guide initially assigned to the patient. - Modifying Insurance. Currently, you do not have to delete and re-enter a treatment plan if you need to change insurance information. - Birth Date Format. We have received a few comments on how the birth date is entered (which is yyyy-mm-dd) and plan to allow our customers to adjust the format to one more customary to their area. Obviously a minor concern, but one that will be addressed. - Unique e-Mail Addresses. For security purposes, Curve Dental does not allow an e-mail address to be used by more than one patient. Curve Dental's patient portal provides patients with access to account information, future appointments, and more. To protect this information, a unique e-mail address is required to access the data. Of course, the responsible party can access information for all members of the family. - Deleting Cancelled Claims. In the interest of providing one more deterrent to fraud, we strongly believe that cancelled claims should be a permanent record in the patient's account. As a result the display of the patient's account may be a bit more busy, but not confusing. - Entering Insurance Maximums and Factoring Secondary Insurance. Currently, Curve Dental does allow you to enter coverage used outside of the practice or software, helping our customers gain an accurate insurance estimate. And our software does indeed take into consideration secondary coverage when calculating the insurance portion. - Scanned Documents. We have discussed ways to improve the organization of scanned documents and will make a change. - Sensitive Charting. Curve Dental has two charting modes. One lets you drag the mouse over tooth surfaces to select the desired surface. The other mode requires you to enter the surfaces in a more old-fashioned style. Some may find one mode more preferable over the other.

### "Decent product for multiple practices but it definitely has its flaws"

September 6, 2022

5.0

Decent product for multiple practices but it definitely has its flaws. If transferring systems wasn't such a big hassle I'm not sure if I'd switch again.

Pros

Easy to use, Sidekick and Curve Gro reminders and 2 way texting are it's best features. Transitioning over with patients was easy, took some time to sort through all patients.

Cons

No mobile app for the dentists, cannot move around appts, can only see your schedule. Had trouble integrating credit card payments (physical terminal & via e portal) with the software when I first transferred over. After 6 months, 4 different credit card terminals I gave up trying and just use other vendors and manually input the payment into the ledgers. This unfortunately makes the patient portal almost useless, because patients want the ability to pay their bills online. All the other portal features are really just window dressing. Can only use one sensor at a time.

### "Venango Technology Center"

September 6, 2022

5.0

I am using Curve Dental in a classroom setting and it has been wonderful. It is easy to explain and very user-friendly. It is easy for students to visualize and learn the basics of navigating dental software for the first time. It becomes easier and easier for them to build on different aspects of dental office procedures using the Curve software.

Pros

I prefer how easy it is to understand and navigate the software. I also like that it is cloud-based and can be accessed from anywhere. I like that I can see when students log in, how much time they spent in each section and I can control which areas they have access to.

Cons

The hardest part of this software is creating everything from scratch and inputing all the information once the training is over.

Reason for choosing Curve Dental

Eaglesoft was way too expensive and did not offer any educational discounts or educational options. Open Dental also did not offer any educational options and was not willing to discuss any other options with me.

Dentrix, while free for the educational version, was difficult to set-up with no actual patients. It was difficult to input pretend information and create fake appointments. There was no way to generate fake insurance claims or information and it was difficult to teach or make students understand what I was talking about when describing different office procedures. Also, the software could only be accessed from certain computers in the building and required updates almost daily. The updates almost always changed the layout of the program and/or required an update of the server. Also, the server could not be used while the updates were running.

### "Not sure the pros outweigh the cons..."

September 12, 2022

2.0

I'm honestly not sure it was worth switching over from Dentrix but I can't do that to my team so we are staying with Curve.

Pros

I think the schedule visually looks great, it is easy to schedule patients, and treatment planning/charting is very straight forward.

Cons

Our front office is still struggling with the management software, working with insurance, and running reports. I wish patient photos were bigger. I wish you could take and store cone beams in Curve. The imaging software in Curve really lacks compared to Dexis for even taking bitewings.

### "Frustrated. Not user friendly."

April 21, 2022

2.0

From a front desk and accounting standpoint, this is not the system to choose if you want something that is clear, concise and easily understood. It is confusing for patients, difficult for staff to navigate, and the whole process has been quite frustrating. Also, we got excellent phone support before we purchased. Curve customer service and the people who were assigned to our account were super easy to reach, and very supportive. After we purchased, though, it is a whole different matter. We are never allowed to be given a direct phone number to a supervisor or manager. We have asked for additional training, and have been told that 'nobody ever asked for that before' and that it simply was not an option. If I had to do it all over again, I would not consider Curve.

Pros

It is a dental software. I do not have much more to say that is positive.

Cons

There are many, many features that are simply not available in Curve, from coding and charting issues to the way we run our AR and other financial reports. The support we receive from Curve is minimal, and most times does not help us fix the situation at hand.

Thank you for your feedback. We offer a toll-free number that we answer in under two minutes which will be much faster than calling a supervisor or manager. If the support person cannot answer your question, they will involve their manager to resolve the issue. We also offer additional training options. A response for more training is directed to our implementation team to schedule the training. We also offer articles, training videos, and more available in Curve Community which you can access at any time. ### "Curve Dental"

Curve is great to work with, the Support team are knowledgeable and quick to respond. The software is always advancing. Users love how easy everything is to use in the software.

Pros

This product is extremely user friendly and easy to train inexperienced users. It is intuitive and visually simple and unintimidating.

Cons

Reporting functionality is broken and slow. The reporting module was built in a way that you cannot filter the reports before running them. If you have a large database, this means the report times out, before the report even loads. It is extremely cumbersome. Also, you should be able to either see a description of the report or a preview of the report before running... So, you are not wasting your time running a report before you know if it is the correct data.

### "Curve has been an asset to our office"

September 13, 2022

5.0

Curve has been an asset in our office and has made our day to day operations easier.

Pros

Curve is very user friendly and easy to use. Constant updates on the system help to make it easy to use and the customer service is top notch. I feel that they really listen to their customers. Curve did take a little bit to get use to but we were coming from paper charts and hadn't used any electronic charting before.

Cons

The billing module and statements could really use an update. I feel they are more difficult to read and understand by the patients.

### "Okay"

September 15, 2022

3.0

Everyone involved with the sale, training, and set-up was great. There've been a couple times where one of us has called Curve for help and the Curve person seemed impatient or frustrated with what are probably dumb questions. I do feel that \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] and I are going to have to make time to sit with someone and have them walk through some EOBs/billing with us so we can get a better understanding. The training & homework went well, but it's hard to understand what you're learning until you're actually in it.

Pros

I loved the potential of it. I think Curve will be amazing after a couple more years of development. We were initially excited about the patient portal and online payments.

Cons

I think I've said it enough. We haven't been able to start on using the portal and payments because we are struggling so hard with billing. And maybe we're just not clicking and understanding the billing module. Either way, it's been a very long learning process. Not frustrated enough to quit Curve, but I wish we had a better grip of things.

### "Good software, but Beware the dishonest billing practices"

September 6, 2022

1.0

Pros

The software itself is great. The billing practices and management are sketchy....

Cons

I like curve, and the representatives I've talked to through implementation and occasional tech support have always been helpful and friendly. The big however came this year when Curve decided to increase the amount they charge me mid-contract with ~3 wks notice. The terms of my auto renewing yearly contract require me to give Curve a lengthy non-renewal notice in advance of the anniversary date if I decide to switch. Curve, however, seems to think it's ethical and acceptable to change my price in the middle of a contract period with nowhere near enough notice to make a change on the scale of switching practice management software. As the owner of my office I understand the challenges of inflation quite well and would have been perfectly happy with the price increase IF it was done with reasonable notice and at the anniversary date. Changing price in the middle of a contract with very little warning, however, is a bushleague tactic of companies to be avoided. I still use Curve, and I may not even decide it's worth my time and effort to switch when my next yearly contract is up, but I will never recommend them or trust them again.

### "Not pleased. "

August 23, 2016

2.0

I have been using this software since 2012. It has been a struggle. The reports are very sub-par. I have two offices and spend a lot of money with these guys but that does not get me any sort of special treatment. Just to give you an idea of how bad the reports are...there is no report to indicate the number of new patients per month. The closest you can get is new patients "created" but this would include no-shows. I asked for a special custom report to be made for my uses with NP's, referral sources, production from referral .....DENIED. They said more or less "maybe they would get to that at some point in the future....thanks for the suggestion". If I could easily switch I would do it, but it is not I won't even get started on how often their servers go down.

Pros

It's prettier than most software.

Cons

\-Reports are a joke (and reports are the life-blood of a good practice management software) -Servers go down a lot -If you lose your internet you are also out of luck -Customer service is slow and not helpful -They nickel and dime you for add on's. Bridge to xray software...$$; E-prescribe....$$$, store x-rays....$$$$$

Response from Curve Dental

Hi, Dr. Mapes! We¿re sorry we failed to meet your expectations. But that means we¿re going to try harder. For example, our reports can be customized to show nearly any data. That you did not find what you wanted means we need to look at the interface and training. Specific to a NP report showing referral sources and production from referrals: We can do that, but obviously we can make it easier to get this information. Curve Dental is the only cloud dental software that publishes performance on its website (www.curvedental.com/status). Our uptime number is 99.99%, which means our service is nearly always available. You think otherwise, so we need to work on that remaining .01%. We were surprised by your customer service comments. In an independent survey, 70% of our customers said our service is better. We¿ll continue to improve until that number is 100%. Were we disheartened by your review? Absolutely. Are we going to give up on you? Never! Thank you for your comments and best wishes!

### "Easy to use and Customer Service is top notch"

September 15, 2022

5.0

Pros

The software itself is user friendly and easy to navigate, and any issue we've ever had is solved within a day. The addition of Curve GRO has been a life saver as we were having to double notate everything in correspondence with our old program. The ability to edit and create different reports has helped so much in terms of business analysis and patient management.

Cons

I do wish there was a way to make certain fields of patient forms "Required" and that the self scheduling could be pulled from a block of rooms rather than one room as we often overlap and forget to block off the room it pulls from.

### "Modern, intuitive, functional, always available anywhere"

December 4, 2020

5.0

It's our day to day dental office operations software and we use it for everything. It sends letters and reminder emails and texts and it schedules Patients. It records everything related to treatment, x-rays, pictures, notes, charting, perio charting and is our way taking care of our Patients and our office. It replaced old Dentrix and Demandforce for us

Pros

It looks like a software that was designed today, as opposed to most dental software that looks like Windows 95! It is clean, easy to use, functional and it actually makes sense. Very helpful in day to day dental office operations, simple interface with everything you need right in front of you. Always available everywhere you can open a Chrome browser.

Cons

You have to change your mind set if you are used with other clunky software, this one is really easy to use. It's hard to believe things are so easy to do at the beginning. Recently they updated the user roles and permissions and they are confusing now. Also the transition from Dentrix was smooth, got the x-rays and pictures but it didn't transfer the files, we had to copy those manually as Patients had appointments. It's a one time thing but it's worth it

I enjoy Curve Gro. Additionally, customer service has been great and I enjoy the Curve Community option for problem solving.

Pros

I enjoy that imaging is on the same software.

Cons

It is not very clinically centered when it comes to moving from treatment plans to notes, etc. I also HATE how you cannot right click on an appointment after it has been closed. It takes me 4-5 clicks to get to the area where I need to type my note. It would be super beneficial to be able to right click on a closed appointment and immediately get to the notes. It's also a pain to not see notes automatically; each patient is automatically under a certain type of note so if you want to see them all, you need to change what is viewed with each new patient.

Reason for choosing Curve Dental

It was the only cloud based software that had imaging integrated.

### "Smooth and easy transition from Old School Practice Management Software."

December 2, 2017

5.0

Cost, Efficiency, usability.

Pros

This is a complete solution to meet all Practice Management needs which is great but as this software is a cloud solution it is just like your Facebook account, Instagram, email etc, it is alway available right there where you need it and it works as it should but in a modern, more efficient way. It's quite intuitive and it is always trying to help you to achieve your goal. We've yet to encounter a gap a business process that is not covered. The Add-ons with Bluefin and Fast Attach function exactly as you would expect and work seamlessly. We're a brand new office and we've leveraged Curve for Practice Management and G-Suite (from Google) to manage email and documents. Doing this has allowed us to forego a any local server or even any network wiring, simplifying and reducing the cost of the build out. Both training and support have been great and they are never shy to quickly remote to your screen to quickly resolve any issue you may have. As for cost, by any metric it has to be cheap given you there is no installation or hardware cost and as it is cloud software upgrades are seamless and inherently free. To address the main counter argument of a cloud solution we are in a south Florida and during the last Hurricane, Irma, we had no risk of any server being flooded of course but once the storm was over and Comcast was still out we simply switched on the hotspot on the phone and we were up and running!

Cons

The Kiosk facility where Patients can can fill out their forms directly into Curve is good but you can see they are still building it out.

Response from Curve Dental

Thanks for the 5-star review! The benefits of a cloud-based management system, as you point out, far exceed the idea of keeping a server in your practice. Many thanks for your kind review and best wishes!

### "Curve is awsome"

September 17, 2022

5.0

Pros

Curve Dental is the best dental software out there.Developers are constantly updating and improving and taking sugesstions on how to better the program to meet users needs. I have made several that have been implemented. I have been in the dental field for over 25years and its the best out there.

Cons

wish there were stock built in reports and then our reports section, make a app for at least the schedule so schedulng emergencies away from a computer is easier

### "Good for a beginner"

September 12, 2022

5.0

able to track our referral sources and which populations are driving our business

Pros

This was easy to set up, intuitive and easy to learn. Cost effective for a dental hygienist just getting set up in the biz.

Cons

The digital hard tissue charting and periodontal charting just don't compute with my old brain.

Reason for choosing Curve Dental

Price and familiarity

### "Good but needs more support to fix everyday issues "

September 15, 2022

4.0

Good- But they only improve what they want to improve not what weNEED them to improve. very recently the updates that were added my thoughts were like... okay thats minor and didnt really help-- can you fix the copy paste issue???? which is highly frustrating!!!

Pros

Ease of use, constant updates, access anywhere, fast,

Cons

There is no phone app- on the phone it is very Clunky Cannot Copy and paste notes- highly frustrating- tech support keeps giving work around and not solution invoice system is confusing doesnt work well with OON office Weave integration is poor

Reason for choosing Curve Dental

I used curve elsewhere and it was straighforward
