I am able to be more organized at a glance. Know what's coming up, what balances are due etc

Pros

The calendar function, and all the internal notes attached to the booking.

Cons

Wow uhm.. lets see I hate that I cannot group modify any items. For example in fishing boat. I cannot click to change and add a commission amount to all. I want to modify items by group outside of the inside of each tour item. I want to copy and duplicate a group instead of having to copy the parent, then the children, and the wrapper. It makes for more mistakes. Also a copy should warn you to update to the correct child links after being copied, and before your save. I don't like that I cannot assign different commission amounts depending on whom I am paying I don't like that I can only send deposit or full balance. I don't like that I can't place a rule that adds a 5% fee after they pay deposit if they want to them make final full payment. I wish there was a way that the reports could just report deposits minus commissions due. I hate the outside GUI, the internal database is super in comparison. Outside looks and feels super clunky and you should use something like elementor technology for visual moving the parts in the back end for greater design functionality. Then peoples designs can look different and we can add or remove features as needed, we should be able to save or use template designs depending in the style of tour we sell. In my emails, I want to have a visual editor and add my tagline and email signature, instead of copying and pasting it everytime.

### "A good foundation but could do better"

Overall, we have been happy with Checkfront. There is some improvement we'd like to do on the notification and invoicing side of things so that the booking process is more informative and smooth. The guides could provide more indepth information on this topic.

Pros

Going from paper based to cloud based has been a big help in recording all our bookings and allowing multiple users to view what bookings have been entered. We use Checkfront for our accommoation, catering, meeting rooms and equipment bookings so need a level of complexity to do this and Checkfront is up to the task. The main difference for us is that we manage the bookings in house after an enquiry is made via phone/email or our website. We do not run a live booking portal for guests to make bookings from.

Cons

The intergration with Xero does not talk back and forth therefore, invoices that change totals after they are booked show discrepancies with the final amount. Setting new rates in advance through the item events function was recommended however, it does not suit more complex items such as rooms with multiple occupancy etc.

Pros

I like how customizable it is and how easy to use it is.

Cons

Sometimes figuring out the tiers and different price points can be confusing, but customer service is great.

Fantastic and happy I chose it.

Pros

Checkfront is an easy software with plenty of flexibility. Fantastic Customer Care and that is the best part of it. We have been successfully using it for over 4 years with almost none problems. Paying solutions are spotless and easy to use.

Cons

It needs some new features such us: - Male /Female inventory control - as at the moment is not possible to control that if you need to have gender only groups.

Reason for choosing Checkfront

At the time, for costs and requirements.

Overall, my experience has been good.

Pros

I like the ability to create multiple types of events and have invoices auto-generated.

Cons

It can be difficult to edit past invoices. It would be helpful if when registering a group, Checkfront could collect names and emails of each participant.

Cons

Initially it took ages to get support on how to perform certain tasks but that has been rectified by the online guide.

Pros

Ease of use and setup, partner apps help to make this a very powerful booking tool for the price

Cons

It would be nice to be able to customise the diary view, to reflect the item rather than seeing the customer name.

Never needed customer service. Always ran smoothly for us.

Pros

This software is very intuative. Don't often need to look for how to use something it just makes sense. I like that I can pay a smaller price point and not have all the capabilities instead of paying for things I don't need.

Cons

It works great for us. We use it to subsidize another product that we have that doesn't have the invoicing that check front has. We've been happy with it's functionality

### "Great for tour business! "

From the day we started it has been a wonderful experience and it is great for our company and our customers.

Pros

I like that it is user friendly for admin and for the end user. It is clean on the user side. The report capability is great. I love the easy of moving customers from one trip to a different trip and the cancellation and rain check functions have saved our day. Customer Support is spot on! They try very hard to implement function requests quickly. We love Checkfront.

Cons

The admin side can be confusing but the support is always there to walk you through.

I have a small Hotel that needs efficient customer handling, this system gives you the flexibility to set up your customer communication and what shall happen during the time from a booking until the customers checkout both on SMS and Email... This is really flexible and can messages can be triggered easily based on your need. This gives you next to nothing of work before the customer arrives and good customer information and experience. The second is the easy way to implement 3 party payment gateways like Stripe and the automatic generated invoice sendt to the customer one email with "pay now" button in the invoice connected to the payment gateway.. It is easy to integrate the add ons and if you have any questions they have premium support. One more thing, they have "ready to go" booking pages..

Pros

Easy interface, admin from the APP on the mobile, flexible customer communication and easy integration with add ons..

We have been very satisfied with checkfront overall and would recommend it to other business.

Pros

Flexible Good features ie times slots, pricing structure Able to add photos and videos User friendly Very Satisfied

Cons

The pricing could be more suited to different countries as we are south african and get charged in dollars and it can fluctuate quiet considerably Also need to be able to use multiple currencies for products ie dollars, euros etc. Sometimes battle with the embedding on website would like more features to be able to use it in different formats and ways.

Our clients love being able to check availability and pay online. They don't book online as often as we'd like them to but at least the facility is there. Checkfront integrates with our website easily and there are lots of addons available as the business expands. It's a great system.

Pros

Checkfront's customer support is brilliant. No question too silly and no work around too finicky. The system is really easy to use and the online 'How to' guides cover all of the basics clearly. There's a pretty good range of reports which means end of month is only a few clicks to give the owners a good picture of what's going on with their business.

Cons

I would like to see a few of our wish list items be actioned to enable the system to work even better for our business. Whether these items are added to the full system or a feature being added to our system only. In the meantime, the work-arounds recommended by support are usually more than adequate.

By just using Checkfront, we know that you have spent a great deal of time thinking about its layout, workflow and us, the users! Recently, our hotel won an award as the World's Best Beach Boutique Hotel (http://www.boutiquehotelawards.com/luxury-hotels/drake-bay-getaway-resort/) in London. We think that Checkfront contributed to us winning this award in several indirect ways.

Pros

Easy, efficient and innovative tool to use. Excellent layout and workflow. Super user friendly.

Cons

After using Checkfront for a while, you may become addicted to it! I spend most of my time on Checkfront every day taking care of hotel reservations.

Pros

This app is a must have for any property owner or business owner. It is a great way to manage your business and you can be notified instantly when there is an event that you need to be aware of. This is an amazing hotel management app and can be used anywhere in the world.

Cons

Sometimes I have minor connection problems but I think it has nothing to do with the tool. I'm not sure there is a problem, I can say that it works in general without any problems.

I love checkfront. Customer service is great. Responses are quick. The app is user friendly and easy to use.

Pros

I love how easy this software is to use. Setting up tours, packages, classes and hire options has been a breeze with easy shortcodes to include booking links on my website. Also love that if a class requires certain hire equipment, with each booking the hire equipment also books out - meaning I can't overbook our standard equipment hire. The app is super easy to use and love that it all syncs with my phone's calendar.

Cons

Would like a "membership" option for those that frequent our business. I know there's a workaround but it's not really the easiest way. The upgrade to using liability waivers is a pretty big price difference! Would love a smaller pricepoint option for single option upgrades as I don't need all features on the next tier.

We used to use a reservations system that didn't really have anything automated and left a lot of room for errors. Now are work load per booking is reduced and we have confidence that everyone has the information needed.

Pros

The support help is phenomenal and in the same time zone. They are always pleasant and quick.

Cons

It can be a little intimidating making changes to our system, adding items or item events.

### "Useful tool but has some flaws we have yet to resolve"

It has been a useful tool but requires extensive backend work to function and meet the requirements we have.

Pros

Optics and user experience is good. It appears clear and easy to get pricing and availability.

Cons

Functionality to set different price categories but not have these completely integrated within the calendar. For example, reserving a room on a specific date under a specific category does not remove the room from the calendar for the other categories but shows as available as the SKU is different.

Overall Checkfront has been a major upgrade from the modified version of Camus we were using previously. No way would I ever go back, it has made reservations much easier and faster as a whole.

Pros

The ease of use and ease of changing reservations. So often we have guests change their minds and Checkfront makes it easy for us to provide good customer service to all of those indecisive guests.

Cons

In the app version, we cannot check booking documents/waivers. It is also very frustrating that app often does not connect/record payments taken through Square. Our book keeper has been pulling her hair out trying to organize all the errors and inconsistencies this has created.

### "A good start but missing some basics!"

We use Check front as our reservation system in a small lodge. Although is has been a chore to set up, daily use works and makes it fast to make and search reservations even 2 years in advance. The Checkfront staff are always prompt and happy to answer questions anytime. Problem is there are a lot of questions that I have that checkfront just can't do so I get the same answer: I am sorry I can put a request to fix this (add this) (change this) there is no guarantee the time this request will be done.

Pros

Once I got set up the interface is easy to use.

Cons

Check Front sounds great when you read about what it can do. Reality is that it is a complex system missing some basics. Inclusive taxes are offered but don't calculate correctly????? The reporting systems sound great but are not flexible at all, I believe they are working on them and I have seen progress in the last 6 months.
