Pros: What I like most about this product is how everything I need is available at any time I need it as well as being very easy to navigate on the site once logged in. It is very user-friendly and helpful with all needs that I may have as well as requests needed for employees. It is as easy as logging onto the site and clicking two to three times to get exactly what I need. I have had to run reports for myself for office functions as well as a request from an employee and it is always very easy and helpful. I believe we get our money worth by using this product on a weekly basis. It seems to fit all our needs as a company and my needs as an administrator. I have had to call on our account manager a few times and when doing so, every time she has been extremely helpful and efficient in helping me find and get what I need to be done. The quality that this software offers us as a company is hands down the best I have ever had. I have worked with APS for several years now. At one time I processed payroll with APS for about 1500 people bi-weekly and I now do it weekly for about 10. So whether you have 1500 or 10 people to conduct a payroll for weekly or biweekly, APS has made it very efficient and easy to navigate their product and easy to search and find exactly the reports needed. I look forward to watching them grow while we grow and using them now and in our future. There would be no other company that I feel could compare to or offer what APS has been able to do for us. The BEST quality!! From the site to the account manager, they have not only met but exceeded our expectations.

Pros: I've been working with APS for almost two years and being my very first experience with a payroll software I found it very easy to learn. The way this software is built and organized makes it very easy to use it. This is particularly true when you are in need to create a report. In this case you can choose one of the several ready-to-use reports from the "Report Manager" option, or you can build your own customized report that best meets your needs. Additionally, to save time and efforts the report you created can be shared among several users in different departments.

Another thing I liked about APS is the excellent customer service I received in all of the inquires and issues I encountered during my job.

Cons: What I liked least about this software is the fact that when you enter or modify any type of information there is no "safety net", meaning the system does not ask you to confirm your changes before leaving the tab you are in. By adding this extra step you will be "forced" to double check your entries and this can be very helpful in avoiding mistakes especially on sensitive information like bank account numbers, pay rates, or addresses.

Another feature that could be implemented is to allow users to download raw data or .csv file directly from the "Analytics" tiles. Right now you can only display, look, and print the information but you cannot download the data in on Excel format. From an Human Resources standpoint it would very helpful to be able to download data such as Employee Turnover, New Hires by department, and Employee Count by month.

Pros:

We have been with the company for almost 7 years. Above all the customer support you receive is fantastic. During our tenure with the company we have had a few different reps due to promotions, but each one has done a phenomenal job. They always return phone calls and emails in a very timely manner, they troubleshoot issues immediately and have even helped process payroll for us when our payroll manager was out with the flu.

Cons: The only issue we run into is transferring employees from one location to another. Currently, if an employee transfers to a new location there are multiple steps needed to transfer that employee's profile. The employee must be terminated in one location, and then all information must be re-entered in the new location. It would be ideal if we could transfer an employee without having to terminate and duplicate the profile in the new location.

Pros: Everything is in once place. Payroll, reviews, goals, employee events, employee documentation. It's all in one place and available for the employee, manager, and HR to review when needed.

Cons: Auditing vacation or personal time is not easy. The audit requires multiple reports and those reports do not download using same format for easy combining of info. For instance, one report may show employee name as Doe, Jane (####). The next report may show the employee name as Doe Jane. When using formulas in Excel, your common denominator is your name. But if the name does not report in the same format on both reports, you cannot combine. The reports I am speaking of are already setup reports. I did also setup my own reports, but they reported the same way. This is one example of several that the formatting doesn't report the same.

Overall: Having all employee information available quickly both to employee and manager.

Pros: It is straight forward payroll processing. It has been well thought out by the software designers who strive to understand the client's needs for special reporting. We are a Farm Equipment Dealership with multiple locations. From our first day with APS they have worked to learn our business needs. We have also provided "tips" on how to make the products more user friendly and they listen and implement.

Cons: If they could streamline the HRIS module to interface with the Payroll module so employee information for some things such as deductions would not have to be entered twice that would save much time from the user standpoint.

Overall: Love having an assigned Customer Rep to work with. And our customer rep is supported with other customer reps if they aren't available when we call.

Pros: APS is constantly making improvements within all areas. It's great to see the added functions and hear from our employees how easy it is to use this system. Customer service is exceptional! Our account manager responses to questions and issues very quickly and keeps you informed and updated to the status of the ticket. Everyone that you work with is very knowledge and willing to help in anyway they can.

Cons: Only thing lacking would be allowing the system to capture potential applicants. Would love to use this system as an all inclusive HRIS system. I think that's a future possibility which would be great! Otherwise, no other complaints.

Pros: Office employees are able to clock in and out, request time off electronically and receive approval electronically.

Cons: For this software to allow the field employees to clock in using a job name. We are a subcontractor organization and our field employees clock into the jobs they are working on. Also, it would be beneficial if once the time is captured in APS that the hours could be uploading in Workflow Max the hours worked on each job.

Overall: The software has been great capturing the time of most of our employees without myself having to manually input. The ability to customize our vacation and PTO benefits for our employees. Once the payroll has been processed, APS takes care of direct deposits, filing taxes, creating checks to be printed for live checks and deductions. Employees being able to access their information online without having to request myself to make the updates. Having mobile clock in and outs.

Pros: The system is pretty user friendly. I like the fact that the majority of reports export into excel. Customer service team is always readily available to help and very responsive.

Cons: There are issues with transferring employees from company to company. The system does not cap deductions correctly.

Overall: My experience has had some good and some bad. I feel the customer service is great but I don't feel the system meets our companies needs as I have to track several things manually because the system does not track them correctly.

Pros: The customer service at APS is unmatched! We have been extremely happy with the product as well as the service we have received since day one. From APS' sales team to implementation, to the tax department, to our account managers--we have been pleased with the ease of being customers!

Cons: There are not a lot of shortcomings with this product! I wish I could say the same regarding other companies we have used. The one thing I do with the product could do would be transferring employees between our companies on the APS platform.

Overall: Extremely easy to use and great interface! I would definitely recommend this product!

Pros: The cost of this product is much better than most. It is easy to learn and navigate through. The support team is friendly and quick to respond.

Cons: The Benefits Administration portion of APS need some additional attention in order to meet 100% of our needs. It gets us by, however we have some manual calculating and entry to do. The reporting system requires you to pull two different reports when pulling certain information.

Pros: We use to manage our payroll in house which took a significant amount of time, even with a small number of employees. Switching to APS helped save time and allowed for a easier and more efficient way of tracking payroll. There are tons of different reports you can run and everything is very user friendly. If there is ever a question on anything our customer service agent is quick to respond and help. It's been great having all our employee information in one place!

Cons: A few instances of frustration where some of our benefits have not calculated correctly. I'm not sure if there was lack of communication upon setup or what happened. Anytime we have ran into this APS saw that a solution was made.

Pros: Very easy to use. The website is clean and clear..not full of clutter. Easy to locate what I need for payroll.

Cons: The reporting features are a litter cumbersome. I wish I could with ease choose more reporting options for my organization. I normally have to call to run a new report.

Overall: Because of the dual (APS Online & Eselfserve.com) software for admin and users I am able to communicate with managers and staff easily. Things look the same and I can guide a user on the site without having the manual handy.

Pros: Anyone can process payroll with this software, it is super easy to use. It is the most affordable payroll outsourcing company with human resource features on the market. The report manager feature has cut down on the time to produce management, workman's comp, and audit reports. The customer support is the best I have ever seen, they promptly get back to me with issues and questions and are always friendly.

Cons: The time clock is very difficult for people to use on their phone since they are constantly having to clear their cookies. It is also impossible to use the phone clocking in/out feature if you are in a building with a metal roof.

I wish it had more options for hourly employee's who's time rounds up.

Pros: This is easy to use product with great customer support. It is perfect for our small company. I love the fact that since it is all web-based, I can process my payroll from anywhere that I have an internet connection.

Cons: Would like to be able to download an individual employee's attendance record in a calendar format for a good visual representation of attendance.

Overall: Quick, effcient payroll processing with the flexibility to write paychecks on the fly, if necessary.

Pros: Pretty easy to navigate, help tools and online support is good.

Cons: Onboarding is slowed down by having to completely refresh an employee to add 2nd and 3 layer data. We onboard heavily over 3 months, so that time delay is significant.

WE are westcoast and the support team are east coast, so not much effective support after 3pm really.

Online file feeds to healthcare providers takes a VERY long time set up.

Overall: We are able to pull reports easily and our employee tracking has increased and is much quicker now.

Comments: We have been with APS for several years now and although at times have found some glitches, APS typically is fast to roll out an update to the fix. Most of the customer reps we have worked with over the years have been terrific and helpful!

Pros: Has the ability to manage soup to nuts under one cloud based software. We like having both payroll and managing HR functions (performance reviews, personnel documentation, etc) all in one place.

Cons: We find glitches at times in parts of the software that really seem like they should have been caught at beta testing. Some of the are so evident it amazes us that other customers aren't pointing them out sooner than us (we have less than 40 employees)

Pros: Customer support has been excellent. The software was already in place when I came and the customer support helped me through some gaps in training.

They were also helpful with solutions to some of our needs that are specific to Churches.

Cons: Needing to transmit payroll 2 days before pay date. I have been able to do it the day before with another vendor.

Pros: Easy to use software. The support I receive from our account rep is great. They are always quick to respond and have an answer.

Cons: I wish that there were some more intuitive features, like a customization person page so I can see the information that matters to me quickly. Other things that would be great would be an easy to use "paycheck calculator", as I have staff coming up to me asking me all the time "If I make X change, how does that affect Y"

Pros: APS is a one stop software...One website with everything that you need for HR, Payroll, time keeping, etc. The software is very easy to use and super user friendly. I have been on APS for about a year and have been very happy with the move.

Cons: Other than a few buttons and minor functionality issues, I don't really have any issues.

Overall: Excellent. From implementation thru now, I feel that APS has helped me completely make my life easier when it comes to payroll/HR functions. I love the fact that I have one point of contact and dont have to dial into a call center.

Pros: The APS System is easy to use and understand. I use it bi-weekly for payroll with no issues. I enjoy the ease of entering new employees in the system and being able to upload documents when needed. I like how the training system is set up to sent invites to one employee or multiple employees

Cons: The APS Hire system can be difficult when I have a position filled I try to make the job inactive and send out a position filled message to all the applicants. I just need to know if there's a way to send out to a group of individuals at one time instead of individually.

Pros: It keeps track of all of our payroll and HR functions. Our customer support person is always there to help.

Cons: I would like to be able to open more than one tab at a time. I may need an employee's personal info and also need to run a report on their income for a portion of the year.

Overall: This program works very well with our unusual payroll. It keeps with with all our payroll and HR needs.

Comments: We did extensive research before choosing APS as our payroll processing company. APS has met our needs.

Pros: APS has reduced the time spent on payroll from the employee level to the administrator. The system runs fast and efficiently. The support team is quick to respond and very courteous. APS is very knowledgeable concerning the payroll laws and keeps us in compliance.

Cons: Some reporting limitations. We may need to run several reports to get all the information needed. A few reports have some minor rounding issues. Any manual processes can also skew reporting.

Pros: I do like the ease at which we can set up employees for direct deposit, it's a time saver! Even changes in direct deposit are easy to deal with.

Cons: I find some challenges in locating the specific reports I need. But, that just might be me!

I also miss a function that we had with another software which calculates a payroll check based on the net amount you enter into the calculator. Miss that a lot!

Overall: The compatibility with our clock in software is great!

The customer service is excellent! I have dealt with several reps and they are all well trained and knowledgeable about the product!

Pros: The work flow is so much better than any other system we have used. The ability to integrate the deductions with other vendors is excellent!

Cons: The reporting manager is a little confusing. If they all had better descriptions on what each report does that would very beneficial to the end user.

Overall: APS has changed the way we process payroll tremendously. We have been able to cut down processing time and improve accuracy across the board. I would recommend this system to any HR company in need!

Overall: I run a small business and before using APS I was spending hours every month doing payroll, taxes and making sure all the guidelines were followed. I thought it would be too expensive to have a payroll service manage it for me. I spoke with one of the customer service reps at APS and they showed me how I could spend less than 20 minutes per payroll but still have the peace of mind that it was being done correctly. I am probably the least tech savvy person on earth but I am able to do payroll twice a month, have all the taxes paid correctly and have the end of year reports and W-2s done in a flash. What a relief! Customer service is always very helpful and knowledgeable. The cost if very reasonable and if I add up all the time I used to spend doing this it probably saves me money! I would definitely recommend this to other small business owners.

Pros: We can migrate our scheduling software hours and pay for payroll. The customer service is good except they close 3 hours before we do.

Cons: It needs a Tab for each employee for their paystub history. The Benefit Enrollment or Opt Out process needs to be simplified. There needs to be a Check Calculator for Net to Gross not just Gross to Net.

Pros: I love this product that it makes it easy for our employees to be able to change their w4s without coming into the office. Saves everyones time. Easy to navigate around the system seeing sick/ vacation pay as well.

Cons: One thing I would say that they could work on its maybe making the buttons a bit more user friendly. I do have a bit of trouble seeing sometimes, or my eyes are strained from looking at spreadsheets all day, so it would be nice if things were easier to see.

Pros: Ease of use. At first (if this is new to you / your company like for me) it seems like a lot of information and a lot to learn. It is a lot of information but so very easy to navigate. Super user-friendly. Getting answers to questions is a cinch and multiple ways to get them. From the self help which truly is step by step, simple to understand or I can call, email or submit a request. I have done all of the above for the littlest of things and I always find or get my answer, almost immediately. Everyone on the "team" that I have had contact with has been great and always kind. The best part is having everything we need at hand from Payroll to HR and employee services.

Cons: What I liked least, though it was temporary was the "set-up" of services. There seemed to be "too many hands in the pot" so there were misunderstandings about what services we wanted or needed and I felt I was resubmitting documents repeatedly to different people or departments that didn't know they already had them.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do your homework. I met with, researched, compared and evaluated many options and providers of the services we were looking for, which was everything. From the "big" guys to the "little" ones. Overall, we went with APS because not only did they come highly recommended but they also are very personal. It was important to me and for our small and growing business, to be able to have direct contact with someone and that would get to know us. We have our own team with APS and that is a huge plus. With that, we have all services, one platform that also allows us to empower our employees. Definitely the most bang for your buck. Great services and not overpriced.

The best thing is the customer service. The system is easy to learn and works for what we need.

Pros: I love the ability to track daily hours, time off requests, etc., so that I don't have to wait until paper timesheets are turned in at the end of the payroll period.

Cons: Some of our employees have had issues with clocking in/out on eselfserve. There is also an issue with them being able to clock in/out with their mobile phones, even though they have been granted access to do so.

Pros: I love the fact that APS is able to integrate so many different functionalities in to one system. Prior to APS my company had 3 different systems where APS has been able to house all those functionalities in to one system.

Cons: There are very few things that I dislike about the system. One thing that would be helpful is if there was a better communication between companies. Currently custom reports are not able to be saved across companies. Also when employee records are transferred from company to company not everything pulls over.

Overall: I have had the pleasure of working for CPAs as a bookkeeper and handed 100's of clients and their payroll needs for over 15 years. When I went to work for a large church, I needed more than just a payroll system so I tried several. I received multiple complaints from employees, so I decided to research others. I put out a request to a third-party who gave me 3 referrals. One was APS. The price was less than what I was paying and we received more services. It has been a blessing.

One other complaint for me was a payroll representative revolving at other companies. I had several contacts for the seamless setup, but one thereafter. She is amazing! She serves her clients with quickness and professionalism. I love APS and tell everyone I know about them.

Pros: The software is easy to use and provides you with a good system for tracking your payroll needs. APS deals with and know non-profits, so knows our needs and is able to accurately meet them.

Cons: We did experience an issue in working to setup accruals for our vacation plans but it seems that the messages I was sending weren't getting through, so there must have been a glitch in the system somewhere.

Overall: Our organization is very pleased with the services and customer service we receive from APS. We used a different national payroll processor previously but had issues with their knowledge of non-profits and experienced some issues that caused headaches. APS has been able to meet our needs accurately and provides good and personalized training to help our organization maximally utilize the system. When you do have an issue or question, the chat/telephone support is very responsive and helpful.

Cons: Identifying 1099 consultants by name and company name. I would also like to be able to print out a report when I enter a new employee for our employee file

Overall: Customer service is wonderful! We have a little disconnect with our 1099 consultants in that there is no way to enter company name (LLC) and the person associated with it so we can do a search either way when trying to locate someone in the employee list which requires me to keep a spreadsheet for cross reference. Other than that, we have been extremely happy with APS and have no reason to change.

Pros: While working on implementation, I was amazed at all the options and possible ways I could setup our account. Completely scalable to meet any company needs regardless of size. Reporting options are extremely comprehensive but if they don't have what you need, you can use Report Builder and make your own report. Employees love it because they can obtain their own credentials to gain access to their private payroll information. From there, they can update address, W2, etc, or just see their paystubs. APS also tracks in/out times for non-exempt employees.

Overall: It saved me time doing payroll and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Pros: Customer support is great. Fairly easy to use. I like that we can store documents like our Associate Manual on the system for employees to review.

Cons: It should not be so difficult to pull a Gross Wage report on employees. I would think that is a report that almost everyone needs from time to time. HR and benefits need to have more features available.

Overall: Reduce cost from ADP. Also a dedicated account representative that is familiar with our business.
