Besides that one missing function, APS has been perfect otherwise. We look forward to continue using APS.

Pros

APS is a great application for all things payroll related, as well as maintaining certain HR functions. This application has helped us streamline several processes and cut down on mistakes. It is priced very competitively as well.

Cons

The application lacks a gross check calculator. This function has been needed on almost a daily basis, and the alternative is to "guestimate" what the gross amount should be to get the desired net check.

Pros

Great value and no product is more user friendly. The customer service is exceptional!

APS has helped by offering timely reports & reviews that would otherwise be very time consuming to create. The tax department can handle all states & municipalities with little company input. The staff is quick to respond to requests & questions.

Better tax reporting, more comprehensive reports and benefit tracking.

Pros

The reporting aspect of the program is wonderful. Lots of canned reports and an easy setup for custom reports. The tax reconciliation is a breeze. Worker's comp tracking is also a feature we like because we did not have that with our last payroll provider.

Cons

Font size for the screen has to be set at a small size to fully show how the screen is supposed to look.

Easy payroll management, electronic pay-stubs, HR resources, hiring and on-boarding site, payroll tax filing.

Pros

Easy and intuitive. Most everything is easily accessible and doesn't take long to figure out and if you do need help they offer such great support you'd think it was an internal department of your company.

Cons

It can be cumbersome to use if you are not at the same machine each time. You are required to verify and register each device (even browser) used.

Cons

Great service, software is easy to use. The reports are great and easily made custom to your needs.

Cons

It is missing a few features on the scheduling side. Also you cannot enter a pay raise to take affect on a certain date, but have to wait until after payroll to submit.

Software is user friendly and easy to use. Customer service is top notch and quick to respond with any assistance. The software has allowed us to automate importing payroll transactions into GL.

Cons

Additional automation between the HR module and employee records. Setting deduction start dates from the HR module would be a huge help!

Time spent, tracking hours and employee salaries

Pros

I like that I don't have to spend so much time doing payroll anymore and can now spend that time with my staff and the students. I like the customer service team as well! I also like that employees can access their own pay stubs and other documents on their own.

Cons

The setup process can be tricky since some of the default settings are not correct, and if you are not paying attention, it can really mess things up.

APS has been great to work with so far. We have tried a couple of other small payroll providers and explored options with ADP and Paychex. APS hit the sweet spot for our company as far as features, value, and personalized customer service.

The payroll approval process for our managers is slightly confusing because it is not clear when payroll has been approved for salaried employees.
