The lack of building out the benefits tab so we can;t link deductibles to payroll

We switched from QuickBooks to APS over a year ago and love it. Easy to use and the customer service is great! We have had a few problems and they were corrected with a simple phone call or email.

Pros

Being able to run reports I create and add specific things to each employee.

Cons

It can always be less expensive.

I was skeptical but can truly say I am very pleased and can recommend.

Pros

I am surprised by how robust and feature rich the software is. I continue to be pleasantly surprised at how much can be accomplished and the easy access to analytics. If I can't figure out how to do something on my own, customer help/support is responsive and understanding.

Cons

To date, I do not have a negative. We are still putting data into the program and can not report having a bad experience yet.

The website is super user friendly and the support staff is professional and knowledgeable. The support team always answer your questions in a fast manner.

Cons

I wish the canned reports could be edited to add or delete information so that you didn't have to create a report from scratch to get the exact information that you need.

Cons

We use the evaluation section quarterly. Evaluation tool is difficult to use, entering data and changing the format of the evaluation.

We have had a very good experience with APS.

Pros

I like that there are people to help, our account rep is amazing and she helps anytime I have a question or forwards it to someone that can help me.

Cons

I think it could have less manual entry items and more auto fill, where you can set something up on one level and it will auto fill on other levels of the program, specifically with deductions.

When you are doing HR on your own, you feel like you have a whole team behind you. Customer service can't be beat. They are responsive and caring. Perfect for a department of one.

Pros

I love giving employees access to online enrollment and access to benefit information. The online document storage is perfect for our needs. No more digging through storage boxes looking for an old enrollment form!

Cons

I wish the benefit admin system and the payroll system were tied together. Instead we have to enter the same information on both sides of the platform.

I'm very happy with it.

Pros

Moving over from a different payroll company that kept messing up my withholding, requiring multiple calls over months to fix it, I enjoy the lack of drama that comes with APS software.

Cons

I guess it could be a bit cheaper, but it's not grossly expensive.

Reason for choosing APS Payroll

A friend who did payroll for a large local business was retiring and looking for a payroll company to replace herself with. After much research, she chose APS and recommended it to me too. I am perfectly happy with it.

ADP kept messing up my withholding and were terrible about getting it fixed.

Error free payroll processing.

Pros

The software is user friendly. Retrieving documents such as W2s & tax documents can be retrieved easily. It is a big deal for us to be able to access historical data.

Cons

We are not able to delete or make change to a payroll batch which can be somewhat an inconvenience.

Pros

The software works on the Safari platform so I don't have to download other browsers. Although not completely intuitive, the software is easy to use and the customer service is excellent. I love how they assign one service rep for consistency but others are always available to help you if needed. I have used Automatic Data Processing (ADP) and Paychex, and hands down this is the best software we have found to manage our payroll. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Cons

Some of the features are not as adaptable to our needs as we would like, and some of the reporting capabilities are not intuitive, but again the customer service is far superior to that of any other company so it has really been a non-issue.

I love APS!! Before we started using APS I did all the payroll. Because we did not have a payroll program on our computer I had to keep all records by hand. That meant keeping up with each persons payroll individually and doing all the quarterly reporting by hand. It does not sound like much but it was a very detailed thing to do. Now APS has taken it over and is doing all that for me! There are not enough words to say how much I appreciate them. Thank You!! Barbara

Pros

Easy to use and cloud-based so accessible on the go. The support team does a great job with any issues.

Cons

The applicant tracking system needs an overhaul. It is very cumbersome to use and more trouble than its worth.

Pros

It is mostly easy for employees to see how to enter and submit their hours. We do a payroll 2 times a month. Customer support has been good.

Cons

When trying to do something a little different or pull reports that are not regular, its hard to find where to go to accomplish that. Often when I get the path, I think " O I never would have tried that spot". so......reports could be more user friendly and more specific to what you actually do in that place.
