Cons: Support staff is grossly under staffed. 1+ hours to have an online chat answered is ridiculous!Staff for the business that you have not what you had.

Overall: We have been using Web Self Storage for the better part of 7 years. The program has remained the same. What has changed is the service. You can call and ask for help and sit on hold for an hour or more and be charged a dollar a minute, or you can use the on line chat and start out with 20 people in front of you and an hour later be 12th in line. They have outgrown themselves. Until they put on more people that can answer questions, I would not suggest that new users buy into it. It was not like this in years past. If you want to grow a business you must also grow your support staff and Emove missed that memo.

Recommendations to other buyers: Beef up the personnel with knowledge and manpower in your support staff area

Do NOT purchase into WSS at least for the remainder of 2018

Pros: It looks cleaner than the original WSS, and it automatically saves now. That's about it.

I don't know what else to say.

Cons: I've been using WSS for about 5 years. I'm an Admin, I'm our trainer, I'm our new facility integrator; The original WSS was very rough around the edges. It looked like it was originally programmed and the UI sculpted the day the internet came out, BUT it worked and had a ton of functionality.

When they "updated" they removed a lot of key features. I'm talking KEY features, like managing your rent raises. Features they know are important because every time I ask "Where is XYZ located now" the answer is always "our developers are working on that, but I cannot provide you with an ETA".

This updated was forced. It's extremely buggy. It is a complete headache at times trying to properly record your facility's financial data, from a gross overview to simply taking a payment for an individual account and seeing the ledger properly update.

Its like they didn't beta test or were forced by the TOP executives to push out an incomplete product.

I will NEVER trade functionality for an updated look. You took a perfectly good product and ruined it for the sake of looking trendy.

Not to mention that one of the best things about WSS was its chat support and affiliate network support... where you could quickly get help locating a function or resolving an issue; but their support systems are completely over-loaded at this point. I'm talking about 4-8 hour wait times minimum, and this is a month after the update.

This is a broken product as of right now, stay away.

Overall: WSS 2.7 is only serving to hinder our business and lose us money.

Horrible. This whole upgrade" from the old version has been an absolute nightmare.

Pros: The old software was great. We have been happy with it and have been using it for years. Wish we had the option to not "upgrade" to the new version, or at the very least go back to the old version. We were not offered an option. We are now stuck with this nightmare of a product until we have enough time to research and find a different product to switch to. Not enough time for researching other products right now since there are so many bugs with WebSelfStorage. We have so many day-to-day tasks and our customers who keep us hopping even when there are no bugs in a system. We do plan to switch. **There have been issues with gate security, privacy security, letters not printing correctly, no email history, ledgers incorrect, and accounts with credits that were not transferring correctly. Just to name a few... They should have tested their product much more extensively prior to releasing it. They have essentially forced their customers to be their "beta testers" and to suffer the effects of a substandard product. This was not a very nice thing to do to their customers. The real "Pro" of this product is that we have an option to go elsewhere.

Cons: There are security issues that cannot be mentioned here, for fear of them being exploited by not-so-ethical entities. We are currently working on a "fix" or "work-around" at this point for those other security issues. However, there is one security issue that should be noted before ever allowing WSS/UHAUL access to a client list and gate codes. This issue has been fixed on our end and in our situation (but only after we were forced to hire a digigate expert and paid money for help in fixing issues that were caused by the "upgrade" to the new WSS.) WSS technical employees had left us hanging and waiting for a supervisor to call or email. No supervisor ever attempted to help us. This main issue that had to be fixed was 300+ renters (who were not ours & unknown to us) AND their gate codes were loaded by WebSelfStorage into OUR digigate system. WE HAD ACCESS TO ANOTHER facilities gate codes and the names of their renters (all strangers to us)!!!! Even after we would clear them out of our digigate system, WSS still kept loading them back into our gate. Our digigate expert successfully cleared them out & fixed issues that were caused by WSS, then contacted the WSS tech employees to help them fix the problem on their end. So far they no longer load to our system. We do wonder though, if our gate codes could have been given to another facility as well. Although there are many reasons why this product should not be utilized, the biggest "Con"cern for us was this issue.

Overall: Clients can autopay or pay online

Aggravatingly rigid with too many workarounds to achieve desired results.

Comments: I've been using WebSelfStorage for 17 months and am not pleased with it. It is far from intuitive and not user friendly. Tech support is good but there are workarounds I have to use to solve certain problems. I have to check some of the results with a calculator to make sure they come out correct and sometimes the totals don't come out correct. The way it lists charges and payments on receipts is confusing to me (and my tenants) and I am unable to make changes to it so it's more clearly understandable. It is sometimes difficult to correct mistakes - the things that support tells me to do to correct certain things points out to me some of the limitations and restrictions of WSS. I use Windows 8.0 at work and Windows 8.1 at home. Before I upgraded to 8.1 at home, I had no trouble using WSS there. Since going to 8.1 at home, I cannot take payments at home and the site map will no longer pop up a tenant's account when I click on it. I've made changes to IE settings according to their instructions to no avail. Twice, I've had their support/tech people take control of my desktop and check all the settings and they are unable to resolve the problems. Both times ended with their suggestion that I get a local tech to figure out what the problem is. I'm currently exploring other options for managing my facility. The one thing I have really enjoyed is their Central Mailing - they'll mail invoices and other letters for the cost of postage. However, at this point, I'll gladly print letters and stuff envelopes if I can find a more flexible, customizable and user friendly solution. I do want to give their tech support credit for doing a good job. They are friendly and helpful and have usually solved my issues and answered my questions in a timely manner.

Pros: There is very little to like about this software. The only advantages I found with it was the price and Uhaul will mail out your letters for the cost of a stamp. There are a few nice reports it can generate and its fairly easy to make a site map of your facility and that's about it.

Cons: First off you can only have ONE gate code per customer. so if you have a business that is storing with you and they want to have separate gate codes for each employee you can't or you have to make separate ghost units for every extra gate access code.

Nowhere on the tenants account can you view how many days late they are. It only says Delinquent or in Lien.

Uhaul should just stick to truck and trailer rental!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall: We are canceled our account after only 2 weeks due to a several reasons. To start our bad experience starting off when all of our tenants we getting switched over and logged into the WebSelfStorage program was less than stellar. The tech did not communicate anything very well and seemed rather put out that she had to do anything or answer any of my questions. we generally don't like the fact we had to be limped along on the "old" version and didn't get to start off the bat on the latest version and wouldn't be updated for 30 days. It really didn't live up to our expectations when we applied it to our business. Not to mention the demo we got to navigate was the newest latest version. We really don't like how nowhere on the tenants account can you view how many days late they are. It only says Delinquent or in Lien. You have to go to a separate report to find the days late. We need to be able to have multiple gate codes for a few of our tenants and your program does NOT allow for that. We would have to make a separate account for each gate code. And lastly, We didn't get set up with the right account number. We are a Uhaul dealer and should have been set up with the same dealer number in order to get the discount. Then when we canceled they said it would be 30 days before they could shut our account down. So since we did not use the system any more it was still sending out late payments to all of our tenants via email with no way to change it other than deleting the accts

Upgrade?? They mean downgrade !!

Pros: The old webselfstorage version was very user friendly, I loved it! I was excited for the upgrade and new features that was a bust. The best thing about it was the message board.

Cons: Customer service does not exist. If you do get a hold of someone wether through live chat or on the phone they have no idea how to help and just tell you they are working on it. I feel sorry for the techs because they get all of our complaints and can't even fix them. they should have tested this software with some small facilities before forcing the bigger ones into it. Now we have to deal with all the nonsense of nothing working. I can't even move a customer out anymore, it took a 28 days for them to help me get a tenant moved out. We lost all cc info on files, the invoices are so messed up tenants are called daily to find out why they are in auction status when they just paid. My lock outs have me lock someone out for 1 day late when I have it set to 6 days. Sometimes my summary reports don't even show half my cash intakes for that day. I could go on and on about how bad this upgrade is but I think everyone else has already covered it.

Overall: You know the old saying "If it aint broke, Don't fix it" ? Well uhaul should have taken that literally!!!

Pros: In the beginning WSS was a breeze to use. entering tenants names, addresses and phone numbers. That is not hard at all. The ease of renting a unit and being able to vacate them was easy enough. The reports were understandable to interpret. The daily open/close procedure was easy too.

Cons: The few things that I did not care about were the customer support when there woul dbe issues and there were plenty of days that issues came up. Not being able to log in, at times was a daily occurrence. The system itself would double and sometimes triple charge a tenants credit card after the payment had already been processed for auto pay!That was an accountant's nightmare. After finally speaking to someone in support, they were not very helpful at all.

Overall: At this time there are no benefits as we no longer use this software/product.

Pros: Finally compatible with Chrome Browser after 8 years of using them and having to use Windows Explorer.

Cons: Pretty much everything. The only improvement over the old software is the browser compatability with Chrome, not intuitive, move-ins are twice as slow. There conversion from the old system to the new was an absolute disaster. We sat on a chat session for 4 hours waiting for help so we could move someone in. We have used them for 8 years for the cost which is a third of the competition but you can only put up with mediocrity for so long at any cost, even free! Software runs slow because of the 15,000 outlets using it. Today is the 4th of the month, payments coming in but software has been down all morning. Can't wait to get our new software with StorEdge!

Overall: For the last 8 years it has been one of the worst experiences with a software provider I have ever had in my 45 years of business. Their customer service department is understaffed so response times are poor. They are way behind the technology curve. We have remained with them because we have had a small 34,000 sq. ft. facility but with two more facilities in our plans these guys will soon be in the rear view mirror..a bad experience all the way around.

New upgrade costs heavily in time and we had to call in digi-gate to make interface work.

Pros: Excellent controls - good for multi location operation. Low cost. Usable from remote computers. Some customer reference from other locatioins

Cons: Repeated failed upgrades and cloud interface. On new system, after a week they still are down loading other storage customers mixed in with our customers.

Pros: Have used the old version for almost 15 years with very few problems but there is very little about the new version that is positive.

Cons: The new version is a total disaster to use. Customer service time has more than tripled. Important functions still don't work even two months after the new release. Layout is horrible and more time consuming to use. I Haven't found a single thing that is faster, easier or more functional than the old version. The whole update looks like it was written by 5th graders as a computer lab project. Even worse is the fact that U-hual in their infinite wisdom seems to think they know what is best for our facility and we should just get used to the new software. (Same as the Web-Best fiasco a few years back) The functionality and and user friendliness of the software is terrible and there is nothing intuitive about it anymore. Even the new color scheme for the site maps just doesn't even make sense. I assume that many things were changed just for the sake of changing them.

Overall: None so far with the new update. The old system worked very well and I would have given it a 10

Cons: It's tied into Uhaul - so you're at their mercy.

Overall: I use WSS daily for my small business. There are some features that I would prefer to have that are available in other softwares. But for the money - you really can't beat it.

Pros: Nothing. Please, just read the other reviews. It takes a lot for me to write something negative about a company. But other businesses need to be spared from the pain of dealing with them. It's THAT bad.

Cons: We were users of the "classic" software, which worked fine. In March 2018, we were upgraded to "new software" from their "developers." This is, hands down, the worst software I've ever used. Please, read all the other reviews as well, especially the recent ones. They're all true. This software functions like 4th graders developed it as a science fair project. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SOFTWARE. I don't want anyone else to go through what we're going through. We're not alone. Just read the other reviews.

Overall: We are a self storage business. This is the worst software I have ever used. It barely works. There are constant glitches. Customer support is useless. Your issues get "escalated" but nothing gets resolved. If we didn't use it for many years and all our data wasn't on their servers, we'd have switched already. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. THEY'RE ACCURATE.

Pros: I like nothing about the software since my upgrade in May of 2018. I am so far behind from all the mishaps since that nightmare of a day! Nothing will function right there are things you need to explain to the owner and you cant for one , WSS can not explain it to me so how do I explain that? thank goodness my boss trust me but i am sure not everybody is as lucky as I am and have lost their jobs over this mess. I have been using WSS for at least 10 years and loved it until the upgrade we will be making a change soon..

Cons: I feel the same about the whole program I have been so stressed since May of 2018 I am at the end of my rope! It is broke and has been since 2018 do not jump in this software, at least not until it is fixed and I have a feeling that will not be anytime soon!

Overall: First 10 years I loved it!!! Now I can not run fast enough to get away from it!!!!

Pros: There are no Pros to this software, customer service, and no way to negatively rate this WSS rewrite upgraded, HORRIFFIC PROGRAM. I honestly can not think of one good thing to say about this "rewrite" upgrade, except, they should have stayed with the original software. But, for the sake of being "trendy" and "looking updated, your business will suffer the consequences of complete failure. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH WEBSELFSTORAGE!

Cons: From the time this software upgrade was implemented, it has been a disaster! No words can express my disappointment, frustration and anger with this upgrade with no option to decline. We have lost valuable information, the accounting is off so bad, and has and will cause countless man hours to decipher, because WSS online chat, and the helpline techs all have the same answer,..."I DON'T KNOW, I'LL HAVE TO SEND IT UPSTAIRS TO THE DESIGNER/PROGRAMMERS TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT". This software is a nightmare, not user friendly, and takes four times the effort to perform a task and four times printable! TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. The designer of this software must have gone to "special" school for the I DON'T KNOW.

Overall: The classic WSS was by far superior to the "upgrade", which is by far, FAR, the worst software I have used, EVER. I have been in the business sector for over thirty years, and I have used many, many different software systems for private security, medical, and others. WSS rewrite, upgrade, or whatever they will call it next, is the worst software, with the worst customer service that I have ever come across throughout the years.

Pros: nothing an upgrade was told and I as a new facility mgr.had just learned a lot about the wss and the upgrade changed the entire program to the point our very finest spent hours waiting on a live chat.I live chated and at 12:26 pm I took my lunch break and still at 430 pm I had sat in office waiting for this live chat ,we close at 5pm and I had still not gotten a response or recognition.as like all businesses we are very busy company and we thrive on our customer service which you have none.

Cons: no great assistance for immediate help or inquiries

Overall: severely bad I wouldn't recommend any of this,i understand all new programs have glitches .I have 25 years experience in fast food,retial and big corporate offices and never have I experienced so much frustrations,the long wait as we try to fix things that we can was absolutely un called for.

Pros: It does have one or two useabele features but there are far more cons than pros.

Cons: It is BUGGY. They call this an upgrade, however it does not work correctly and the previous program was a poorly functioning program but this is worse by far. In my humble opinion, the IT department of U-Haul does not have the brain power to run the drive through at Taco Bell (who usually cannot get your order right even if you only order one item). I expect much better from a multi-billion dollar international corporation that has been in business as long as U-haul has. They are only just now dealing with the issues of internet explorer no longer being supported.

Overall: Problematic both with functionality as well as support. You cannot get the same answer twice from the help desk. Even they have no idea how it works.

Overall: After numerous phone calls, phone calls not returned and countless hours on the phone with Web Self Storage Support personnel regarding the Quickbooks interface with the updated software it is still not operational. it was to be operational in Dec 2018, that date was not met and the new date was Jan 2019. It is now February 2019 and it is still not operational for my business. The support staff informed me that I would need to enter information manually into QB until my issue could be resolved. One of their supervisors informed me I had taken too much of theirs staffs time and informed me it was a QB issue. After calling QB I was assured it was actually an issue with Web Self Storage software. Based on my experience I would definitely not recommend this company or their software!

Pros: I like absolutely nothing about this. The new "upgrade" is a nightmare, Nothing works correctly and I don't believe anyone tested this before it was released! We are the beta testers and they are charging us to use it. I am sick of all the bugs and issues. Believe me nothing works correctly. It is even charging customers wrong. Wish I had changed programs before this upgrade was forced on us.

Cons: Absolutely everything is bad. Reports don't print right. The dashboard doesn't let you move in a new customer. You have to search by phone number first to see if they are a repeat customer and then it doesn't find them. This upgrade was a total disaster and it was forced on us.

Overall: No benefits what so ever.

Pros: There is nothing to like so far. I am at this moment, trying to get a small problem fixed that should have taken 5 minutes. I have been on chat and on the phone for over 2 hours not.

Cons: the biggest con is it doesn't work. I have been a customer of theirs since 2001. The old version worked fine, there were knowledgeable tech agents if you needed them. Since this new "upgrade", we have issues EVERY DAY. Half the time it doesn't even work. Sometimes it crashes. SO many bugs that come and go. NO ONE knows what is going on. We are definitely getting something different, no matter what the cost.

Overall: Disastrous. Don't do it. Not sure what happened with this company. I used to wish I owned stock in it. Thank goodness I don't

Pros: If you are interested in purchasing this software, WAIT! The new update that is currently launched is useless. I am hoping the issues will all be fixed soon but until then, do not purchase this software.

Cons: I hope every single one of WebSelfStorage's tech team was fired. Nothing seems to work on this new update. Why did I spend the entire day today not even being able to login? How is a business supposed to make money when I can't even run a credit card payment? This is absolutely ridiculous. Fix the WHOLE issue stat or revert back to the old version.

Overall: None, between not even being able to login and not being able to process payments once the system finally logged in, the whole thing has been entirely useless.

Pros: Nothing... the "upgrade" ruined this software. Simple tasks have been made impossible. Daily Reports are wrong, can't balance with the bank statements. Use to be a great product, now it is a daily headache and we are too busy to continually fight with this software.

Cons: The fact that daily reports are WRONG EVERY SINGLE DAY... what use to take 10 minutes, now takes days. We are looking for new software now, this has been a nightmare!

Cons: Do you hate actually taking payments from a customer? Would you rather stare at and endless loading screen? Do you prefer as little as possible tools to help you keep track of customers/payments? Do you love when customer support does absolutely nothing to help solve problems except promise to send the ticket to someone else and then never hear back well thank to the April update this is the product for you!

Pros: We have been using this software for several years and have always been able to contact customer service and fix a problem quickly.

Cons: Sometimes payments get posted twice and are not very easy or simple to reverse and refund the tenant.

Pros: I like that it is easy to keep track of all my units and my payments for my storage units.

Cons: I dislike that I can't click certain invoices to print or not to print and I dislike how not really user friendly this software is.

Pros: They have a customer portal that allows customers to log on and pay their bill, see their rates, etc.

Cons: Everything else. Software had multiple issues when downloading customer lists, reports, and letters, leading to hours of double checks and corrections before I can use the downloads.

Overall: It took over 2 months to set up as I had to hand type every single customer contract I had into their system. The original system was complicated and took a long time to learn. However once I had a hang of it, it worked quite well. However, after only being on the system a few months they had an 'upgrade'. The upgrade does allow you to access the software from mobile devices. But has so many errors. I takes longer to print monthly invoices with this 'management software' than it did when I was hand typing invoices and keeping manual books on a spreadsheet.

Pros: It used to work great, but then they fixed it.

Cons: This is super slow, it looses data, it looks like you entered the information and then it erases it for no reason. The rule force you to operate their way not yours. Not worth a thing, sorry I ever used it.

Overall: There is nothing good about locking out tenants who are all paid up or not locking out people who have not paid inmonths.

Pros: Easy to access reports and drill down on customer ledger etc.

Cons: Does not completely interface with quickbooks used to before new platform. Customer support rude and answers rehearsed like "works as designed". Website advertises works with Quick Books and peachtree accounting software. Many hours now doing journal entries never had to do before.

Pros: Nothing. Since the upgrade it is an absolute nightmare. No payment history, no record of emails,r resulting in multiple emails to the customers, payment processing takes longer. TERRIBLE

Cons: Everything - I'm canceling after 8 years. Update is a nightmare - they just tried to take out of our account from February - terrible customer service.

Pros: The layout is refreshing but that's it..

Cons: Customers (that aren't on auto pay)that had credit cards stored in the old version did not merge over.

Invoices get emailed in triplicate.

Some invoices didn't even get emailed.

The previous letters/invoices did not merge over.

I'm scared to see what's going to happen with the accounting come the 1st of the month when rent is due!

Overall: While I understand there are glitches with new software programs, these glitches are ridiculous!

I feel like a guinea pig that was given saccharine back in the 80's.

I've experienced software changes over the years but nothing nearly as bad as this.

Get it together, folks because these reviews are horrible & y'all may be losing more business!

Pros: It does have all the info at one's fingertips. I use it basically for accounting purposes and once I can find the information I need, it is helpful.

Cons: I don't like having to close out of each contract, or whatever it's called, each time. I try to look up specific information on a rental and usually forget to click a "close this record" button which leaves it open and annoying for everyone else.

Overall: Not enough. Which is why my company is moving our accounts to another software

Pros: The ease of applying payments and how like functions were on the same page. NOT so after upgrade. What I liked is gone.

Cons: For example, after the recent upgrade I have a tenant prepaid showing he owes over $1000.00. For a week now tech support tells me everything they CANNOT do. I just asked for an estimate of time to fix, they said they cannot tell me and cannot connect with those who know. UNBELIEVABLE!

Overall: Extremely poor customer service! They make me want to rip my hair out!

We just got upgraded and it is so bad stay away at all costs

Pros: Not much. In every aspect it has made my job harder!

Cons: There are so many things. Mainly my numbers are not correct on my reports even now. We were changed over on 11/15/18. I and other managers have sat forever on chat, who knows nothing about the new program, and have called the Admin line multiple times only to be told that they will open a ticket and let me know when the problem is resolved. Never hear back from them. The webinar was no help at all!

It is not eco friendly. Every report that needs to be printed is at least 3 pages and lord help you when you print a walk around report or cash drawer summery or management summary. We go through so much paper now. Pre-paid customers are still not correct, either. I could go on and on but I will stop here. This new program has kept me upset and stressed since the beginning.

Overall: Loved the old program. Your decision to force the new program on us was not the right thing to do.

We have the new version of WSS and it has been horrible compared to the previous.

Cons: Lots of bugs, report generation is weak, poor support, poor communication. Previous version was much better.

Cons: I think this software was designed to make it as difficult and unpredictable as possible. I have experience with other self storage software and am quite tech savvy but WSS said they can report to Quick Books and after hours and hours (mostly on hold) the problems just got ignored.

Overall: The best benefit is to not waste your time or money.

The legacy program was great! The new system is very disappointing and frustrating. Terrible!!

Pros: Many of the reports that I need to do my monthly accounting are already created and easy to get- just enter the dates needed.

Cons: Since it is web based it is both a good but bad thing. When we lose service (which can happen often) work can't be saved including saving a tenants file so another user can have access.

Comments: I have been attempting to use WebSelfStorage from Emove for 3 months now. I continually find it awkward and challenging to use. They tell me its designed to have rents reported on the day that they occur, but I can't do that. It regularly calculates erroneous fees, that even the techs at emove can't remove. I admit it is a very complicated program, designed to cover all options, but this complexity makes it frustrating for me with a small self storage facility. Their techs end up scratching their heads, when trying to help me, and often tell me the program can't do whatever I am asking (ie. remove an erroneous fee or move someone into a unit that they reserved without first cancelling the reservation). Today's problem, I can't record a payment, and they stopped answering phones early afternoon. I'm appreciative they have weekend hours, but they close by mid afternoon weekdays.

PROS: They can help find tenants for a reasonable fee. Customer Service is friendly and tries.

CONS: Necessity of too many work arounds in their extremely rigid software. It is not user friendly, even for the computer literate user.

Pros: Ease of use. I don't have to deal with an outside company for any of the benefits Webselfstorage offers my facility. This includes credit card processing and insurance. Extremely affordable and I can access my account anywhere I have internet access. eMove also lists my facility on their website for advertising and reservations.

Cons: Nothing to complain about.

Overall: Highly recommend due to ease of use, benefits, and price. I have used other software programs and Webselfstorage blows them out of the water.

Comments: I started with other programs that are no where near as comprehensive as WSS. If I have an issue they usually already know about it before I ask. For the price and for the support, there is nothing else available that can touch it!!!
