Practice Manager Veterinary Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "ezyVet allowed our clinic to grow!" January 8, 2019 5.0 Overall our experience with ezyVet has been amazing. It was the best decision we made overall to expand our practice, profits, and ability to practice better medicine! Pros The thing I like the most about this software is the ability to edit most anything you need to fit your practice needs. For example when adding an appointment to the schedule, you can set up the appointment to start billing for that type of exam. Traditionally, when a Technician or Assistant loads an exam room and takes history, this software allows you to create "Clinical Templates" that you can name for example; Canine Annual, Limping, ADR, HBC, Vomiting, Diarrhea, etc. This allows the tech to select the correct template to ask the question that the doctor wants to know. This minimizes missed information when taking a history and also allows you to practice better medicine by making suggestions to the pet owner. Our canine annual exam is set up to ask all the questions you typically would ask but adds in things like "Would you like to vaccinate for Lyme today" and "Did you know that 1 in 9 Adults have some abnormality in their annual screening labwork results?" Adding these questions increased our compliance tremendously! We used to only sale about one tray (25) of lyme vaccines a year before ezyVet. Now we are rolling through that in a month easily!!! This is the same for FELV, Lepto and annual screening panels. Cons The only thing that really isn't so easy to use for us is the reminder card system. It took us a while to understand how to set them up to generate correctly. The true downside is I have to print them out and mail the post cards myself daily. No one has integrated yet to do your postcards for reminders. This isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. As a side note the software does allow you to easily email reminders but our client base really likes the post card method. Also, occasionally ezyVet has to merge servers and the software will be unusable for about 10 minuets while this occurs. I didn't like the ezyvet go, it was a lot more work in the field than just taking notes. Pros it has a lot of room for medical notes and communications. I like that I can send call backs and memos to my whole staff too. Cons so many tabs and having to be in certain areas to do certain tasks. I don't know if you can access certain things in each of the tab colors. A commodore 64 could run a better program. I have hated every minute of it, and in discussing it with others in 3 different countries, in both specialist and general practice, their experiences are the same. Avimark from Covetrus or even a basic system like IDEXX Animana are an order of mangitude better. Pros Absolutely nothing. Having run 4 practices, worked in corporate and independent practices, as well as academia, I have vast experience of several systems. EZYVET has NO REDEEMING FEATURES. I cannot believe anyone would ever, ever buy this product! Cons Confusing, complicated, multiple paths to get... nowhere - or everywhere. Confusing terminology. Horrid, horrid, horris and massively inefficient. Learning the system is a nightmare; expediting work - forget it. November 3, 2025 4.0 I enrolled in EzyVet in 2019 when I started my practice from scratch. There has been a growing number of integrations and improvements along the way which have added to EzyVet's functionality. My team is comfortable with Ezyvet. I have no regrets about starting out with Ezyvet whatsoever. Pros I love both the flexibility compared to older clunkier PIMS like Cornerstone and Avimark and the security of having a cloud-based practice management software program. Cons There currently neither AI features nor voice technology included with Ezyvet. While these are currently already available within a few of the competing PIMs products on the market now, I have heard that these features are in the works for Ezyvet too, and am looking forward to their addition! My hospital also has an excessive list of bloodwork options, most of which are rarely used, making it EXTREMELY cumbersome to find the right labwork for a patient at a reasonable price. There are also way too many steps to get something done. Part of this is because my hospital never provided any sort of training or standardized sop for use -there may be more efficient ways to use- but if you are a relief person or new user trying to navigate it without any instruction or I guess if it hasn't been customized for the practice flow, it is a nightmare. Pros It has a lot of fuctionality options which likely could be useful if setup correctly. There seem to be many ways for creating customizable templates. . Cons Without extensive individual customization to streamline use and options, it is very clunky and inefficient, not intuitive. I get lost between the various tabs. It is hard to scroll through a patient's record if you are not on the right tabs.This creates a distraction that interferes with client interaction. While not intuitive to the new user, it gets all the jobs done that we need to be done, and very thorougly. Pros ezyVet is a very robust system, perhaps the best cloud-server system. It handles clinical work pretty well, and practice management very well. Cons The system is designed to support specialist hospitals that see a patient only one or a few times. April 9, 2025 1.0 I had to use this program while working at a veterinary office doing a relief shift, I have been using many many programs over the years and this one is awkward, not intuitive, requires about seven steps for one thing to get done, and clearly is not written with veterinarians in mind. It is not written logically, has many bizarre menus that don’t connect properly, does not lead to obvious logical next steps, and it does not flow. I do not recommend this at all.I currently use Daysmart but I’ve also used cornerstone, DVMMax, AviMark, and countless others over the years. Once again, I do not recommend this program; it is pushed on clinics because of IDEXX and I think they are doing a disservice to all of us. We do not need to spend extra time doing anything in our busy day. Pros There’s absolutely nothing that I like about this program and I would’ve given it no stars if possible. I have been in practice for 30 years and this plus one other program are the worst two that I have ever used. Cons This program was written by programmers that do not understand how veterinarians have to work. For example, my dentist for my dog uses this program and it took her helper 45 minutes to produce one estimate and she has been at that practice for many years, but they just switched over to this program. Our staff rarely complains about our PIMS now that we've switched. Pros I love that ezyVet is cloud-based and I absolutely love all the integrations that ezyVet has, such as all Idexx labs, radiology, and ultrasound. We are a 24-hour emergency clinic and there is absolutely no down time with ezyVet, which is a must! ezyVet also works very well with VetRadar, which we use for both our hospitalized and surgery patients. Helps a ton with capturing all charges. We have loved ezyVet since we switch a few years ago. Support is great too! Highly recommend! Cons Still would like to have a little more customization with statements and receipts, and some reporting, but most everything we need it to do, ezyVet can make it happen. Other than the scheduling issue stated above I have very little complaints about Ezyvet. Pros It's user friendly, intuitive, and includes lots of features that other EHR's do not. Cons Rescheduling appointments with Ezyvet is a bit of a pain. It would be great to have a similar feature like Cornerstone has, where you can right click on an appointment, select "reschedule", then click on the day/time you want to reschedule to. Almost like a copy/paste function. Additionally, Cornerstone will alert you if you click on an appointment time when another user is actively scheduling an appointment during that block which helps prevent double booking between users. Pros We joined EzyVet in 2018 before they merged with Idexx. It was well fleshed out in terms of features and actually was constantly improving (contrary to Idexx Neo!). I love the ability to create email and record templates that make my life easier. Integration with Idexx now has just improved things. I hope the awesome customer support continues with Idexx now owning them. Cons Switching over, setting up and learning the new software took about 4 months, but then it was worth all the initial growing pains.Some people might say it’s expensive vs other softwares, but we all know you get what you pay for. If your vet hospital grows, that cheap software won’t likely be doing you favors down the road. Reason for choosing ezyVet It was recommended by a vet specific business coach. From the very start Ezyvet provided everything we needed, everything we wanted to add, and has the potential to expand as we expand our services. The customer service All Stars are a joy to work with and very quickly address any questions I have. Pros There are so many features that I love about EzyVet. The seamless integration with Idexx has eliminated missed lab charges and results and the new integration with ReviewTree has been wonderful for collecting reviews for our clients. The capability to customize almost every aspect of the software allows me to produce templates for our doctors to be more efficient with their clinical records. our receptionists to provide catered documents for each client, and our techs to have charts that fit their needs and wants as well. Ezyvet is very easy to understand and learn and I have watched new employees become comfortable with its use in just a few days. On the administrative side every report and count I could want is available and my inventory is easily tracked. Cons Inital set up can be time consuming because you need to take the time to decide how you want to create your templates, documents, clinical records etc. The fact that everything is so customized is a blessing after everything is set-up but when you first start out its hard to know what you really want until you get to know the software and how you want to use it in your practice. September 3, 2021 5.0 We are able to solve problems with missed lab results especially from external reference labs. We can also better monitor our stock inventory levels. Accounting is also quite convenient with supplier purchase orders and invoicing. Pros As a User, I find that our workflow is much more streamlined with Ezyvet. No more missing out charges with the customizable billing triggers. The IDEXX integration ensures no missed lab results for both in-house and reference labs. I also like how Ezyvet is able to auto-attach other reference lab results via email. As an Administrator, I find the set-up quite customizable to our preferences. I like the way we monitor and keep our stocks and inventory. The integration with our exisiting business went quite smoothly and support is always excellent. Cons I think Ezyvet should be able to alert us if an item (medication) is out of stock when we charge them in the system. That way, we can choose/replace with a different item/brand before we finalize bill and print labels. Reduces back job. Pros EzyVet is customizable and constantly improving. The software, unlike many, takes feedback from customers and is continuing to improve. I like also that if you are in the Idexx family that you get poi to for this now. I also think that idexx has the best customer service in the industry and that they will continue to keep the level of EzyVet customer service at that level. I was a customer before the acquisition and after. No changes. Lab integration with Idexx is great. Cons This software takes a lot of work to get set up correctly. It takes dedication from the doctors and practice/office manager. It takes hard work from the implementation team. It does cost more than typical softwares but that is because of the amount of work and customization it takes. Do not get this if you won't put the time in. You will get what you give. Reason for choosing ezyVet This seemed like a product that would continue to improve and was customizable. Other softwares out there were not anywhere near this. Possibly EVet was close but could not get them to even call us back for a demo. I had other vets in area that I visited with this. However if they cannot return a sales call. June 23, 2022 5.0 Having the ability to manage client communication, recordkeeping, referring veterinarian communication, invoicing and practice managment all in an easy to use program has been critical to the function of my practice. Adding staff at some point may be an additional help but using ezyVet gives me the piece of mind and ability to run my business while offering the work/life balance that I need maintain my practice. Pros The best part of ezyVet is how customizable it is to support your unique practice concerns. I am a solo practitioner and recently changed to a specialty practice specific to veterinary rehab, chiropractic, pain management and sports medicine. Given that my new pursuits do not require staffing to complete most of my visits, the use of ezyvet has allowed me to automate almost all of my front desk duties as well as administrative tasks such as practice accounting, end of day, marketing and client communication. My practice is also partly mobile, so the ability to be cloud based and take my system anywhere on any device has been critical to my function. Cons The onboarding was a little challenging to coordinate due to my specific schedule but most of it was self guided and reasonable to work through. The image annotations are not currently included in a medical history print out which would be a welcome update for my type of practice. The few glitches that I have encountered have been more to do with the specific task not being configured correctly and were quickly found and fixed through a support ticket. It makes sense both medically and financially for the practice. It has increased accuracy and efficiency on both the medical and financial side of things. We are very happy we decided to switch to ezyVet for our PIMS. Pros Overall, ezyVet is a well named software program. It is user friendly and has made our team much more efficient. Medical records are more throrough, we don't miss charges, and communication between departments is better. The templates make a world of difference. Using templates allows us to ensure our team is consistent with the information they are getting and giving. They have also expedited the process by creating habits. We have been able to increase our capacity to see animals both in appointments and surgeries as a results of increased efficiency. Cons As stated previously, the scheduling can be a little difficult as you can accidentally schedule the same slot as someone else and you can't easily schedule from the patient's page. Vet Radar was a difficult transition from paper treatment sheets. It regularly improves, but still leaves some things to be desired. Reason for choosing ezyVet ezyVet seemed to align the most with what we were looking for in a software system. We are a 6 doctor practice. We need a robust system that can handle multiple docotors and several staff members. We wanted to go paper light and Impromed did not seem to be set up for that type of usage. We also wanted a cloud based software to allow remote access for our doctors and team. Put simply, this program does an amazing job of automating my vision of how our practice Standards Of Care are managed, and I can do practically everything I want it to. I love how so many parts of this program allow significant time saving steps, and there is lot of automation. The more you customise, the better this gets, so use these features! This program is very well layed out. Whilst it might be a struggle at first to ensure your entire team is on board with where/how to do specific (practice-customised) tasks, the importance and ease of finding that specific information later is self-evident. The tracking of changes significantly increases accountability and ensures team consistency. The integration is amazing - with laboratories, S8 log book, SmartFlow and more! The autobilling and record keeping is a breeze! If anyone in the team has questions that only ezyVet can answer, the Support system is superb. You can call up if it is a critical issue, or send a written request and rank it's importance. They are very responsive and changes or ideas are also warmly received. I am only just now starting the analysis of data and learning how and what data I want from the program. I am confident even before this review that the program is allowing me to better understand where to focus my attention on business development and financial goals. I know any feedback for improvements is valued. Cons There is truly nothing I don't like. Some of the challenges: In order to truly get the best results, you have to understand how the program works, and put in the necessary hours to learn how to customise your own practice program. This time investment can be a very daunting pre-changeover and you will need an ongoing interest to push the program to it's limits as you learn the amazing features over time. If you are not dedicated to put in the hours, then you can't complain it doesn't do what you want. Remember - set it up once and it is there forever more! I have heard users unhappy about how certain features work, only to delve deeper and find that they really had no idea/interest about how to customise their so called "problem", or the immense value as to WHY something is as it is. I am a "details" personality type, and I had intentions to customise a lot of the functions pre-changeover. I could foresee that there was a need for significant time investment in personalising this program long-prior to the changeover date. I would have favoured being permitted to have the access and software training much earlier in the induction process to ease this anticipated time burden. But I understand that that has been addresses with my feedback for others. Any internet based cloud program will suffer from gremlins of dropping requests on occasion, requiring you to reload the page, but that is not unique to ezyVet. I wouldn't be able to do my job without it! Pros Ezyvet has so much to offer. Easy scheduling and reminders. Client records and patient medical records are easy to use. Patient records are like electronic patient records. They have a master folder with various sub folders for appointments, medications, communication, and som much more.
