Capterra, an online service that helps businesses find the right software, published new research today in an infographic titled, “The Top 20 Most Popular Salon Management Software." Salon Iris, Millennium, and Shortcuts rank as the three most popular solutions.
Salon and spa management software solutions track employee and client schedules, log point-of-sale transactions, produce reports, and execute marketing campaigns. Software helps salons and spas of all sizes run more smoothly and efficiently.
“It’s hard enough for most people to manage their own schedules. Salon managers have to manage the schedules of an entire staff, in addition to client appointments,” said Capterra Founder and CEO Michael Ortner. “On top of appointments, there’s inventory and marketing and sales to consider—that’s a lot to juggle. Salon management software provides a holistic overview of the salon’s performance all in one system so that managers can spend more time focusing on their clients.”
Capterra determined this ranking based on its popularity index, which incorporates number of customers, number of users, and metrics of social presence to develop a weighted popularity score. Other recent infographics in this series include Fleet Management, School Administration, and Document Management.
“One unique finding from the salon software research is that the majority of salon software users are split among a number of smaller software companies, compared to some of our other industry studies. The fact that there are so many up-and-coming players in this market demonstrates that there is tremendous room for growth in the salon management software industry, and that early adopters of these technologies are paving the way and determining which software will become the go-to choice in the future,” said Ortner.
To keep pace with the growing and changing role of software in the salon management industry, Capterra plans to update the rankings multiple times per year.
