**TL;DR:** _In this article, I share my picks for the 8 best CRM software platforms, evaluated on ease of use, value, and customer support, based on 1,628 verified Capterra reviews from October 2024 to October 2026._

I analyzed 1,628 verified Capterra reviews to find the 8 best [CRM software](https://www.capterra.com/customer-relationship-management-software/) platforms for small business pipelines, lead tracking, and ease of use. Search “best CRM software” and most top results are vendors ranking themselves, or roundups with no review data behind their picks. I went to the reviewers instead, including founders at 10-person companies who use these tools daily.

I scored eight products on ease of use, value, support, and how consistently each does its job. Ease of use is the top pro (753 reviews), while complaints split between learning curve (244) and price (240). Support is the most overlooked factor: scores range from 4.93 (Less Annoying CRM) to 4.08 (Zoho CRM), and buyers rarely compare it.

_Products are listed alphabetically. Inclusion is based on the methodology at the bottom of this article._

Quick take

In my analysis, Less Annoying CRM has the highest rating at 4.86 and the best ease-of-use, value, and support scores, but on only 57 reviews, while Bigin by Zoho CRM (4.77 on 216 reviews) and Kylas Sales CRM (4.77 on 173) are the best-validated high scorers. Salesforce Sales Cloud has the largest base at 425 reviews and a 4.53 rating. Zoho CRM has the lowest rating on this list (4.40) and the weakest support score (4.08), and HubSpot CRM has the lowest value score (4.10).

## The 8 best CRM software platforms at a glance

Here is how all eight stack up on the metrics that matter most when choosing CRM software for a small business, all based on Capterra reviews from the last 24 months. The three highest ratings sit on very different sample sizes (57, 173, and 216 reviews), so read ratings and review counts together.

| Product | Rating | Reviews analyzed | Best for | Starting price |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Bigin by Zoho CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/204998/Bigin-by-Zoho-CRM/) | 4.77/5 | 216 | First-time CRM buyers | $7/user/month billed annually, Express plan (free edition available) |
| [HubSpot CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/152373/HubSpot-CRM/) | 4.48/5 | 305 | Free, all-in-one starting point | $20/user/month, Starter Customer Platform (free version available) |
| [Kylas Sales CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/210630/Kylas/) | 4.77/5 | 173 | Flat-rate pricing | $250/month flat, Elevate plan (free version available) |
| [Less Annoying CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/118921/Less-Annoying-CRM/) | 4.86/5 | 57 | Solo operators | $15/user/month, Core plan |
| [monday CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/245800/Monday-CRM/) | 4.51/5 | 76 | Teams that run on visual workflows | $12/user/month, Basic plan |
| [Nutshell](https://www.capterra.com/p/144340/Nutshell/) | 4.55/5 | 151 | Small B2B sales teams | $13/user/month, Sales Foundation plan |
| [Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.capterra.com/p/61368/Salesforce/) | 4.53/5 | 425 | Deep customization | $25/user/month, Starter Suite plan |
| [Zoho CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/155928/Zoho-CRM/) | 4.40/5 | 225 | Configurable automation | $14/user/month, Standard plan (free edition up to 3 users) |

_Ratings and review counts reflect verified Capterra reviews in our dataset, October 2024 to October 2026._

Read small samples carefully

When only 50 to 80 reviews back a rating (Less Annoying CRM at 57, monday CRM at 76), treat it as directional and ask the vendor for 2 customer references of a similar size.

## How I chose this list

To build this list, I selected products based on the following criteria:

- **Review volume:** _Have at least 20 verified Capterra reviews in the last 24 months._

- **Rating floor:** _Have an overall Capterra rating of 4.2 or higher, based on data from the last 24 months._

- **Category qualification:** _Appear on Capterra Shortlist for CRM software (2026) and be used by reviewers as a general-purpose CRM. The raw pull covered 507 products and 12,455 Capterra reviews, but only 24% of those reviews (2,955) belonged to the 25 shortlist products. The rest, including Brevo, Any.do, NetSuite, and ClickUp, are not on the shortlist, so I set them aside._

The data I analyzed skews toward small businesses and toward U.S. reviewers (41% of the 1,628 reviews), with Kylas Sales CRM (99% India) and Bigin by Zoho CRM (27% India) the exceptions, so enterprise or multi-country teams should weight these scores differently.

Twelve more shortlist products also met all three thresholds, but I limited this list to eight that cover distinct buyer needs, and the methodology at the bottom lists the rest. Three picks serve narrower audiences: Less Annoying CRM suits very small teams, while Kylas Sales CRM and Salesforce Sales Cloud draw most reviews from companies with 201 or more employees. Each section says who it fits best.

## 1\. [Bigin by Zoho CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/204998/Bigin-by-Zoho-CRM/): Best for first-time CRM buyers

_Bigin by Zoho CRM pipeline board showing deals by stage with contact details_

[Bigin by Zoho CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/204998/Bigin-by-Zoho-CRM/) has 216 reviews at a 4.77 rating, tied with Kylas Sales CRM for the second-highest rating on this list behind Less Annoying CRM's 4.86, and it has the deepest sample behind a rating above 4.7. Its audience is the smallest-business end of CRM: 73% of reviewers are at companies with 1–50 employees, 34% are owners, CEOs, or founders, and 27% are in India (14% are in the U.S.).

It earns its place on ease and value. Reviewers rate it 4.81 for ease of use, second only to Less Annoying CRM's 4.95, and 4.72 for value for money. Bigin is Zoho's CRM built for small businesses, so it suits a team that wants a pipeline and contact list without the setup that full Zoho CRM needs. Capterra also lists it as serving startups. If you need several customer flows or deep reporting, look at the larger platforms below.

- **Integrations:** _Mentioned in 33 of 216 reviews, a small share next to the 115 who praise ease of use._

- **Reporting depth:** _Mentioned in 28 of 216 reviews, with reviewers wanting more filters; the dashboards still cover basic pipeline tracking._

**What do Capterra reviewers say about Bigin?**

“Bigin by Zoho is a great choice for small teams or solo operators. It’s simple to set up, easy to use, and keeps your pipeline organized without unnecessary complexity. The interface is clean, automation features are helpful, and it covers everything you need to manage deals efficiently. Perfect if you want a lightweight CRM that just works”

Wayne Smith, director, verde, March 2026

One co-founder flagged the limit that matters for growing teams:

“Setting up the automation can be difficult, and there are some restrictions in terms of being able to have multiple pipelines if you have more than just one customer flow.”

Alison Bowers, Co-Founder, BOBIcares, December 2025

Capterra lists these plans:

- Free edition

- Express: $7 per user per month, billed annually

- Premier: $12 per user per month

- Bigin 360: $18 per user per month

_**Bottom line:**_ _For small teams new to CRM, its 4.81 ease-of-use score makes it the lowest-risk start. Compare it in Capterra's_ [_HubSpot CRM vs. Bigin by Zoho CRM comparison_](https://www.capterra.com/compare/152373-204998/HubSpot-CRM-vs-Bigin-by-Zoho-CRM)_._

## 2\. [HubSpot CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/152373/HubSpot-CRM/): Best free CRM for an all-in-one start

_HubSpot CRM deal board with a contact timeline showing emails and activity_

[HubSpot CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/152373/HubSpot-CRM/) has 305 reviews at 4.48, the second-largest review base on this list, and the most mixed audience: 58% of reviewers are at companies with 11–200 employees, 43% are in the U.S., and only 13% are owners, CEOs, or founders.

It earns its place on breadth and the free tier: 26 of 305 reviewers mention the free version, and ease of use is the top pro (147 mentions). The catch is price. Reviewers rate value for money 4.10, the lowest of the eight, and 93 of 305 raise price or paid tiers in their cons. If you want to start free and add sales, marketing, and service tools later, it is a strong fit; if you need a fixed low budget, look at Less Annoying CRM or Bigin.

- **Sequences and workflows:** _Offers email sequences, templates, and workflow automation._

- **Integrations:** _Connects with Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, and Slack._

**What are HubSpot CRM's limitations?**

- **Learning curve:** _Mentioned in 38 of 305 reviews, though 147 reviewers cite ease of use as a pro._

**What do Capterra reviewers say about HubSpot CRM?**

“We use the free version that is packed with robust features like contact management, email tracking, and a customizable sales pipeline, that makes the app accessible either to small teams like ours. The integration capabilities are a major highlight—we’ve seamlessly connected HubSpot with tools like Google Workspace, aweber, Wordpress website, etc., ensuring a smooth workflow.”

Andrea Fiore, Founder, Permacultura Elementare, November 2024

One VP described how costs creep:

“Over time, more features that many teams would consider fairly basic are being moved behind extra paid tiers.”

Martina Sainter, VP, Demand Studio, December 2025

Capterra lists these plans:

- Free version

- Starter Customer Platform: $20 per user per month

- Professional: $50 per user per month

- Enterprise: $75 per user per month

_**Bottom line:**_ _For teams that want to start free and grow into one platform, its 4.48 rating on 305 reviews is a safe default, as long as you budget for the paid tiers. Price the tier you actually need before you commit. Compare it in Capterra's_ [_HubSpot CRM vs. Zoho CRM comparison_](https://www.capterra.com/compare/152373-155928/HubSpot-CRM-vs-Zoho-CRM)_._

## 3. [Kylas Sales CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/152373/HubSpot-CRM/): Best for flat-rate pricing

_Kylas Sales CRM lead pipeline with deal stages and a sales performance dashboard_

[Kylas Sales CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/152373/HubSpot-CRM/) ties Bigin by Zoho CRM at 4.77 across 173 reviews and holds the top functionality score on this list at 4.64. Its audience is distinctive: 99% of reviewers are in India, 60% are at companies with 201 or more employees, only 1% are owners, CEOs, or founders, and the most common titles are sales managers and sales executives.

It earns its place on sales-team usability and pricing structure. Reviewers rate it 4.74 for ease of use, 4.72 for support, and 4.70 for value, and Capterra lists a flat $250 per month for unlimited users. If your team is in India or sells through WhatsApp and Meta for Business, it is a strong fit; U.S. buyers should check support coverage, since none of the reviewers in this dataset are U.S.-based.

- **Lead capture and integrations:** _Connects with WhatsApp, Meta for Business, Gmail, and Exotel calling._

**What are Kylas Sales CRM's limitations?**

- **Reporting and filters:** _Mentioned in 38 of 173 reviews, though 43 reviewers praise its dashboards._

- **Customization limits:** _Mentioned in 37 of 173 reviews, a trade-off for the simple setup 95 reviewers praise._

Outside India?

Ask about support hours and time zones before you buy, because none of the 173 reviewers in this dataset are U.S.-based.

**What do Capterra reviewers say about Kylas Sales CRM?**

“Kylas Sales CRM is very user-friendly and efficient for managing leads, sales pipelines, and customer communication. The dashboard is clean, easy to navigate, and helps our team track enquiries and follow-ups smoothly. The workflow automation and lead management features are especially helpful for improving productivity.”

Rudransh Navik, Business Head, Kidvento education & research private limited, May 2026

Even a satisfied intern noted the ceiling:

“Sometimes the filter and customization options feel limited, especially when managing large amounts of data.”

Apoorva Pandey, Marketing research intern, Ehnote, May 2026

Capterra lists these plans:

- Free version

- Elevate: $250 per month flat, unlimited users, 100,000 records

- Exceed: $1,250 per month flat

_**Bottom line:**_ _For sales teams in India that want per-seat costs off the table, its 4.77 rating is among the highest on this list. Compare it in Capterra's_ [_HubSpot CRM vs. Kylas Sales CRM comparison_](https://www.capterra.com/compare/152373-210630/HubSpot-CRM-vs-Kylas)_._

## 4\. [Less Annoying CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/118921/Less-Annoying-CRM/): Best for solo operators

_Less Annoying CRM contact page with notes, tasks, and a pipeline view_

[Less Annoying CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/118921/Less-Annoying-CRM/) has the highest rating on this list at 4.86, but only 57 reviews back it, so treat it as directional. Its reviewers are very small businesses: 75% are at companies with 1–50 employees, 32% are owners, CEOs, or founders, and 72% are in the U.S.

It earns its place by topping three of the five scores: ease of use (4.95), value for money (4.93), and support (4.93). Capterra describes it as built for 1–20 user accounts and lists one plan at $15 per user per month, which is why reviewers talk about simplicity and price rather than features. If you are outgrowing a spreadsheet and do not want an admin, it is a strong fit; its 4.58 functionality score and reporting complaints (10 of 57 reviews) point to a ceiling.

**What are Less Annoying CRM's key features?**

- **Contacts, notes, and tasks:** _Attaches a to-do list and notes to every contact so follow-ups do not slip._

- **Pipelines and custom fields:** _The Core plan includes unlimited pipelines, custom fields, and forms._

- **Email logging and calendar sync:** _Logs email by BCC and syncs with Google and Outlook calendars._

**What are Less Annoying CRM's limitations?**

- **Reporting depth:** _Mentioned in 10 of 57 reviews, a trade-off for the simplicity reviewers value most._

- **Scope by design:** _One plan, no free version, and a focus on 1–20 user accounts, which keeps pricing predictable._

**What do Capterra reviewers say about Less Annoying CRM?**

“I'm a solo trader so I really like how using LACRM makes me feel like I have a real team behind me. They send useful & relevant tips on how to use the CRM. And if I have questions, the responses are always personalised. I love that there are real humans I can talk to!”

Charlotte Chiew, CEO, Charlotte Chiew Creates, February 2025

The trade-off for simplicity shows up in filtering and automation:

“I wish there were a few more options on filtering and automations, which I understand why they aren't there due to this being as simple as possible for a CRM.”

Adelita Duryea, Founder, Sprout & Scale Marketing, May 2026

Capterra lists these plans:

- Core: $15 per user per month

- Free trial, no free version

_**Bottom line:**_ _For solo operators and small teams, its 4.95 ease-of-use and 4.93 support scores are the highest on this list. Compare it in Capterra's_ [_Less Annoying CRM vs. HubSpot CRM comparison_](https://www.capterra.com/compare/118921-152373/Less-Annoying-CRM-vs-HubSpot-CRM)_._

## 5\. [monday CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/245800/Monday-CRM/): Best for teams that run on visual workflows

_monday CRM board showing leads and deals as colored status columns_

[monday CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/245800/Monday-CRM/) has 76 reviews at 4.51, and its reviewers sit between solo operators and midsize teams: 46% are at companies with 1–50 employees, 74% are at companies with 11–200, and 68% are in the U.S.

It earns its place on flexibility. Reviewers rate ease of use 4.57 and functionality 4.50, and 20 of 76 mention automation. The same flexibility drives the complaints: 18 of 76 reviewers raise price in their cons and 18 raise complexity or a learning curve. If your team already works in monday boards, it is a natural extension; if you want a CRM that works out of the box, a more opinionated tool may be easier.

**What are monday CRM's key features?**

- **Customizable pipelines and boards:** _The Basic plan includes unlimited contacts and boards._

- **Two-way email:** _Gmail and Outlook sync starts on Standard, with 250 automation actions per month._

- **Forecasting and email tracking:** _Sales forecasting, mass email, and email tracking start on Pro._

**What are monday CRM's limitations?**

- **Pricing:** _Mentioned in 18 of 76 reviews, as seats and tiers add up, though Basic starts at $12 per user per month._

- **Learning curve:** _Mentioned in 18 of 76 reviews, including setup of pipelines and automations, but 40 reviewers still cite ease of use as a pro._

**What do Capterra reviewers say about monday CRM?**

“I appreciate that monday CRM is customizable with a friendly user interface. Many CRM platforms feel too rigid and don't allow for near as much adaptation as needed when scaling from its original purpose. I also really love the ability to track and visualize data through as microscopic of a lenses as needed with the use of custom filters and settings.”

Starla Cochenour, Project Manager, r.plan consulting, April 2026

The tier jump is the sticking point for one operations manager, who wrote:

“there should be another price option with more than 250 actions but less than 25,000”

Chansa Catherine Kapapula, Operations Manager, think zambia foundation, January 2025

Capterra lists these plans:

- Basic: $12 per user per month

- Standard: $17 per user per month

- Pro: $28 per user per month

- Enterprise: custom quote

- Free trial

_**Bottom line:**_ _For teams that value visual workflows, its 4.57 ease-of-use score is competitive. Check which tier your automation volume needs before you commit. Compare it in Capterra's_ [_HubSpot CRM vs. monday CRM comparison_](https://www.capterra.com/compare/152373-245800/HubSpot-CRM-vs-Monday-CRM)_._

## 6\. [Nutshell](https://www.capterra.com/p/144340/Nutshell/): Best for small B2B sales teams

_Nutshell pipeline board with a lead record showing email and activity timeline_

[Nutshell](https://www.capterra.com/p/144340/Nutshell/) has 151 reviews at 4.55, and its reviewers are U.S.-centered sales teams: 78% are in the U.S., 12% are in Canada, 68% are at companies with 11–200 employees, and only 10% are owners, CEOs, or founders.

It earns its place on support and straightforward sales tracking. Reviewers rate support 4.57, behind only Less Annoying CRM (4.93) and Kylas Sales CRM (4.72), and ease of use 4.60. Functionality is its lowest score at 4.38, and reporting is the most common gap (16 of 151 reviews). If you run a small B2B team and want a person to help you set up, it is a strong fit; if you need deep customization, look at the larger platforms.

**What are Nutshell's key features?**

- **Customizable pipeline:** _Tracks deals with activity reminders and a drag-and-drop board._

- **Email marketing:** _Available through the separate Marketing Pro plan, which requires a Sales subscription._

**What are Nutshell's limitations?**

- **Reporting:** _Mentioned in 16 of 151 reviews, a gap mainly for teams that need deep customization._

- **Bugs and performance:** _Mentioned in 15 of 151 reviews, a small share next to the 27 who praise support._

Price the right tier

Multiple pipelines and sales automation start at Sales Pro ($42 per user per month), not the $13 entry plan.

**What do Capterra reviewers say about Nutshell?**

“Coming from Salesforce, the ease of use and plug and play aspect of this CRM is a breath of fresh air. It has made our lead management and sales funnel a breeze. Anytime we have approached their team with an issue its always a solutions first upsell never type of approach.”

Sawyer Dietz, EVP, Southwest Recovery Services, December 2025

Reporting is where reviewers say the product runs out of room:

“Reporting could be more powerful and flexible, especially as you start to want deeper insights.”

Ross McCaw, CPO, OurPeople, Inc., December 2025

Capterra lists these plans:

- Sales Foundation: $13 per user per month

- Sales Growth: $25 per user per month

- Sales Pro: $42 per user per month

- Sales Business: $59 per user per month

- Sales Enterprise: $79 per user per month

- Marketing Pro: $49 flat per month

- Free trial

_**Bottom line:**_ _For small B2B teams, its 4.57 support score is the strongest case. Compare it in Capterra's_ [_Nutshell vs. HubSpot CRM comparison_](https://www.capterra.com/compare/144340-152373/Nutshell-vs-HubSpot-CRM)_._

## 7\. [Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.capterra.com/p/61368/Salesforce/): Best for deep customization

_Salesforce Sales Cloud opportunity pipeline with a sales dashboard_

[Salesforce Sales Cloud](https://www.capterra.com/p/61368/Salesforce/) has the largest review base of the eight at 425 reviews and a 4.53 rating. Its reviewers are larger-company sales staff: 72% are at companies with 201 or more employees, 51% are in the U.S., and only 4% are owners, CEOs, or founders, with account executives and account managers the most common titles.

It earns its place on depth. Customization and reporting each came up in 82 of 425 pros, and functionality is rated 4.56. The price of that depth shows in two scores: ease of use is 4.32, tied for the lowest on this list, and value is 4.20, second-lowest. If you have an admin or a partner to configure it, it is a strong fit; small teams without one may find it heavy.

**What are Salesforce Sales Cloud's key features?**

- **Pipeline and opportunity management:** _Tracks leads, opportunities, and deal stages in one place._

- **Integrations and AI:** _Capterra lists integration across sales, service, and marketing, plus Einstein AI._

**What are Salesforce Sales Cloud's limitations?**

- **Learning curve and complexity:** _Mentioned in 90 of 425 reviews, though an admin or partner can configure it around your sales cycle._

- **Price:** _Mentioned in 89 of 425 reviews, but customization depth is what the higher cost buys._

**What do Capterra reviewers say about Salesforce Sales Cloud?**

“Salesforce is the ultimate "single source of truth." The depth of customization is unmatched; we’ve been able to build complex workflows and custom objects that fit our specific sales cycle perfectly. The reporting and dashboard capabilities provide real-time insights that are crucial for our sales team. I use Salesforce every single day”

Silvina Frassinetti, Account Executive, Asana, February 2026

Complexity is the most common complaint, and one salesperson put it plainly:

“The learning curve is steep. New users or smaller teams can find it overwhelming without proper training or admin support.”

Eric Grossman, Sales, Summit, June 2025

Capterra lists these plans:

- Starter Suite: $25 per user per month

- Pro Suite: $100 per user per month

- Enterprise: $165 per user per month

- Unlimited: $330 per user per month

- Einstein 1 Sales: $500 per user per month

_**Bottom line:**_ _For larger teams with admin support, its 4.56 functionality score is the strongest case. The $25 entry price covers only the lightest tier. ## 8\. [Zoho CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/155928/Zoho-CRM/): Best for configurable automation

_Zoho CRM lead and deal list with a customizable dashboard_

[Zoho CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/155928/Zoho-CRM/) has 225 reviews at 4.40, the lowest overall rating on this list, but its audience is broad: 61% of reviewers are at companies with 11–200 employees, 35% are in the U.S., and 18% are in India.

It earns its place on configurability at a modest price: customization came up in 60 of 225 pros and automation in 44, and reviewers rate value for money 4.36, ahead of HubSpot CRM (4.10) and Salesforce Sales Cloud (4.20). The weak spot is support, rated 4.08, the lowest of the eight, with 37 of 225 reviewers raising it in their cons. If you will configure it yourself and want a low entry price, it is a fit; if you want hands-on help, look at Less Annoying CRM or Nutshell.

## What makes the best CRM for a small business?

The best CRM for a small business is easy to set up without an admin, clear about pricing, and backed by responsive support. Here are the 5 factors that decided fit across the 1,628 reviews. For related tools, see Capterra's [lead management software](https://www.capterra.com/lead-management-software/) category.

| Factor | What reviewers reported | What to test in a trial |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Setup without an admin | Ease of use was the top pro theme across the dataset. Learning-curve complaints concentrated at Salesforce Sales Cloud (90 of 425 reviews) and Zoho CRM (51 of 225). | Import your own contacts and build one real pipeline, not the vendor's demo data. |
| Pricing and what the entry price leaves out | Tiers gate features: HubSpot CRM goes from $20 to $50 per user per month, Salesforce from $25 to $100, and monday CRM limits automations to 250 actions per month before Pro. | Ask for the full per-user cost with the features you need, and confirm record and automation limits. |
| Support when something breaks | Less Annoying CRM reviewers rate support 4.93 and Kylas Sales CRM 4.72, while HubSpot CRM is 4.21 and Zoho CRM 4.08. | Contact support during the trial and note how long it takes a person to answer. |
| Reporting and customization depth | Reporting was a top complaint for Kylas Sales CRM (38 of 173), Bigin (28 of 216), and Nutshell (16 of 151), while Salesforce reviewers praise it (82 of 425). | Build the one report your team needs before you sign, and see Capterra's [sales tracking software](https://www.capterra.com/sales-tracking-software/) category for tools focused on pipeline reporting. |
| Fit with team size and region | Less Annoying CRM and Bigin skew to 1–50 employee companies, Salesforce to 201+, and Kylas Sales CRM reviewers are 99% in India. | Estimate your seats and records for year two, not just today. |

In my analysis, plan gating was the pricing trap I flagged most often, so ask every vendor for the full per-user cost with the features you need before you compare quotes.

Ask about record and seat limits

Bigin's free edition caps at 500 records and a single pipeline, Kylas Sales CRM's Elevate plan includes 100,000 records, and monday CRM's Standard plan includes 250 automation actions per month. Ask every vendor which limit you will hit first.

## Which CRM software should you choose?

Pick Bigin by Zoho CRM as the best CRM software for startups new to CRM, Less Annoying CRM for solo operators, HubSpot CRM to start free, Nutshell for small B2B sales teams, and Kylas Sales CRM or Salesforce Sales Cloud for larger teams. The glance table above shows each pick's best fit.

In my analysis, the best CRM software for a small business is rarely the one with the longest feature list. Less Annoying CRM, Bigin by Zoho CRM, and Kylas Sales CRM all pair ease-of-use scores of 4.74 or higher with support scores of 4.52 or higher, and the buyers who sound happiest are the ones who tested a tool with their own contacts before committing.

You now have eight reviewed options and a way to match them to your team, so the next step is to compare pricing, features, and verified reviews side by side.

## Frequently asked questions about CRM software

What is CRM software?

CRM (customer relationship management) software stores your contacts, tracks deals through a sales pipeline, and logs emails, calls, and follow-ups in one place so nothing slips. See Capterra's full [customer relationship management software](https://www.capterra.com/customer-relationship-management-software/) category.

What is the best CRM software?

There is no single best CRM software for every business. Less Annoying CRM has the highest rating at 4.86 but on only 57 reviews, Bigin by Zoho CRM and Kylas Sales CRM follow at 4.77 on 216 and 173 reviews, and Salesforce Sales Cloud has the largest base at 425 reviews and a 4.53 rating.

How much does CRM software cost?

Starting prices in this list run from $7 per user per month for Bigin by Zoho CRM (billed annually) to $25 per user per month for Salesforce Starter Suite. Zoho CRM starts at $14, monday CRM at $12, Nutshell at $13, HubSpot CRM at $20, and Less Annoying CRM at $15, while Kylas Sales CRM charges $250 flat per month for unlimited users. Actual costs depend on the product and subscription plan you choose, and mid-tier plans can cost several times the entry price (HubSpot CRM Professional is $50 per user per month and Salesforce Pro Suite is $100).

What features should I look for?

In [Capterra's small business CRM software data](https://www.capterra.com/customer-relationship-management-software/s/small-businesses/), reviewers rate contact management (51%), sales pipeline management (49%), and lead management (45%) as the most critical features. Beyond those, prioritize email and calendar sync, automation, and reporting that fits how you track deals.

Is there free CRM software?

Four picks list a free version on Capterra: HubSpot CRM, Bigin by Zoho CRM, Zoho CRM (up to three users), and Kylas Sales CRM. Less Annoying CRM and Nutshell list no free version, and monday CRM lists a free trial only. Check Salesforce Sales Cloud's Capterra listing for current trial terms, and browse Capterra's list of [free CRM software](https://www.capterra.com/customer-relationship-management-software/s/free/) to compare plan limits.

What is the best CRM for a small business?

For very small teams, Less Annoying CRM (4.86) and Bigin by Zoho CRM (4.77) are the simplest in this dataset, and Nutshell suits small B2B sales teams that want live support. See Capterra's [CRM software for small businesses](https://www.capterra.com/customer-relationship-management-software/s/small-businesses/) for a ranked list.

Who can skip a full CRM?

Solo operators with a short contact list can start with a free tier, such as Bigin's free edition (500 records, one pipeline), then move to a paid plan as deals and headcount grow.

Is HubSpot CRM or Zoho CRM better for small teams?

In the same review export, HubSpot CRM scored 4.48 across 305 reviews and Zoho CRM scored 4.40 across 225, so both are well validated. HubSpot CRM rates higher on ease of use (4.45 vs. 4.32) and support (4.21 vs. 4.08), while Zoho CRM rates higher on value for money (4.36 vs. 4.10). Reviews were assessed from October 2024 to October 2026. All ratings and review counts reflect data as of the time of publication. Pricing was verified against each product's official Capterra listing in October 2026.

To be included in this list, each product had to:

1. Appear on Capterra Shortlist for CRM software (2026).

2. Have a minimum of 20 verified Capterra reviews in the last 24 months.

3. Have an overall rating of 4.2 or above based on reviews in the last 24 months.

Several products were evaluated and excluded. Shortlisted products below the 4.2 rating floor were Pipedrive (4.14) and Keap (4.13). Agile CRM (8 reviews) and Nimble (5 reviews) did not reach 20 reviews, and Insightly had no reviews in the dataset. Twelve more shortlist products met all three thresholds but are not profiled, because I limited the list to eight that cover distinct buyer needs: Odoo (4.20, 305 reviews), Dynamics 365 (4.42, 182), Act! (4.52, 164), Bitrix24 (4.27, 131), EngageBay CRM (4.59, 95), Klaviyo (4.61, 95), Vanillasoft (4.46, 80), Copper (4.43, 42), vcita (4.35, 26), folk (4.50, 26), CustomerBase (5.00, 26), and Salesforce Starter (4.60, 25).

To build the shortlist:

- I analyzed 1,628 verified Capterra reviews of 8 products, drawn from a review export of 12,455 Capterra reviews across 507 products before the exclusions above. The export also contained 99 Software Advice and GetApp reviews, which I excluded so every count is Capterra-only.

- Reviews were assessed on overall rating, ease of use, functionality, value, and support, and on themes in the pros and cons text. Theme counts reflect keyword matches in review text and are directional.

- Quotes are verbatim from the review dataset, and some excerpt consecutive sentences from a longer review field. Non-English reviews were not quoted.

**Editorial independence:** Products are selected and ranked based on an objective methodology. While some vendors may pay Capterra when they receive web traffic or leads, this does not influence our selection or analysis.
