Methodology

To be considered for this list, products have to:

  1. Have at least 20 unique product reviews published on Capterra within the past two years, as of September 21, 2022.

  2. Meet our definition of live chat software to be considered as a market fit: “Live chat software allows companies to chat with customers in real time via their website. Its use for customer engagement is predominantly for support, although it's more rapidly expanding to be used by sales and marketing teams to help drive customer engagement.”

  3. Of the products that met the above criteria, the 25 with the highest functionality and value-for-money ratings were mapped on a scatter plot.

  4. From these 25 products, only those with publicly available pricing information on the vendor website were included in the price comparison table. Therefore, the price comparison table is a subset of the scatter plot.
