Pros

SkillStation has been an invaluable tool in ensuring we can provide evidence of staff training and competency during audits. The customer service and support that comes with system is excellent, the team at Think Eleven are friendly and approachable. They have been great at responding to questions and providing guidance very quickly.

Cons

No major cons. Only a few minor points where there has been a steeper learning curve with some of the more advanced features

I loved working with ThinkEleven to create a product that has ended up being rolled out throughout the company. I am looking forward to the next phase as we progress the system throughout the company

Pros

The best thing about SkillStation was the team at Think Eleven we got to work with. They are so supportive, and nothing has ever been too onerous. They have worked with us to show the functionality and make a great system. SkillStation is also an excellent software and has great functionality. The constant improvements and the fact you listen to your customers is fantastic. Excellent selling features for when i am rolling out the product and making the wider team feel engaged.

Cons

There were minor tweaks we required, and there are minor elements within the event calendar that could be improved. However, our suggestions have been listened to and already incorporated. So the con is minimal.

### "Too complicated for what we need it for"

SkillStation is far too much of a sophisticated system for what we initially needed it for. The potentials look amazing, but we only use a fraction of its capabilities. Recently, trying to utilise another element of system we found the set-up time-consuming, overly complicated and not really worth the effort. The upload of something reasonably simple as a new skill is cumbersome and laborious and made up of so many elements that have to be completed in a certain order that it is easy to get distracted and forget. During the initial set-up I was expecting more advice as we had never used a system like this, but we knew what information we would like it to hold. The process was continually bounced back to us to make decisions about a programme we knew nothing about. I wouldn't recommend SkillStation to anyone who predominantly just wants to track expiries, there are far simpler and cheaper alternatives out there.

I like the amount of information that it holds, the monthly expiry reports it sends and the fact that it defaults to 3 months before expiry, which should give ample time to arrange refresher training.

Cons

SO CLUNKY!! It is so counter-intuitive and everything is embedded in something else that in order to find one cert, you need to perform far too many clicks. My guys don't like using it, it doesn't translate well to mobile as far too small. Would work much better as an app.

Positive. I have recently completed a lot of training with the skillstation staff and am mostly happy with what I know now. I am still learning the system and working out what does what.

Pros

The fact that I can set managers up as admin to manage their own areas. This personally saves the department a lot of time chasing training that has expired.

Cons

The layout and terminology. I'm used to it somewhat now but some of the layout choices are not user friendly and I think some of the areas could do with being renamed.

The adaptability of the system and the personal and quick responses to calls for support.

Cons

Would be good to allow certificates/evidence to be uploaded during the employees self assessment rather than waiting for the skills assessment to be approved by their line manager.

Having a system where everything is captured is great, so much better than all the spreadsheets we used to keep. Thanks

Pros

We now have a system, which captures all our Learning needs relevant to each and every role we have in the business. We can now also quickly add any relevant learning in various forms to the system for employees to complete. The system also gives succinct reports of employees competence.

Cons

Because we have over 100 different roles, we decided to look at each and split into the following categories: Education Induction HSSE eLearning HSSE Technical MP's SOP's This took a lot of work but very beneficial.

Pros

Our SkillStation competency management system gives us the capacity to review and report on competency levels across our company and gives a wide view to our Technical Directors which they did not have before ensuring conformity across our business. The Performance Review process which is more adaptable to our requirements has been well-received by our HR team. SkillStation is very user-friendly, was implemented quickly with excellent support from Think11 who engaged in all aspects and made suggestions which encouraged us to review our requests - and they were always right! Think11 are also very open to requests for improvements and update the system regularly.

Cons

We have found very little we don't like about SkillStation, the user guides were sparse but gave us a good building block for our own once the system was implemented.

Overall SkillStation has been a fantastic addition to our business. From individual contributors to people managers, it has truly enhanced everyone's daily working by making information more accessible and applicable. Although issues with the system are limited, any time that help has been needed, a friendly and knowledgeable person is available almost instantly.

Pros

The best thing about SkillStation is that it provides a great place to store detailed training records that can be accessed with the click of a button. Not only does this make for a simple way to find who possess critical skills, but it is also excellent when providing information at critical external Audits for example. The ability to run e-Learning modules through the platform is also a real time saver

Cons

Having to using a sperate SCORM account to facilitate/enable e-learning. It would be good to have some credits applied as part of an annual charge, rather than having to Top Up regularly via the SCORM account.

As an admin in the system, it is very easy to navigate, and they have created useful batch upload systems. As a user, I like the clean look and feel of the system. I can easily understand my ranking levels and how to navigate the site.

Cons

I would love more functionality with weighting skills that are more important than others.

It took us longer than is usual to implement but this would have been shorter had we followed the process prescribed by the Team at SkillStation - a big learning point - follow the process because it works.The support, advice and ongoing guidance from the team has been first class from day one. The system is constantly being improved at no extra cost and the development team listen to feedback and respond quickly.

Pros

Now the initial "system fill" task is completed, SkillStation is providing a quick, consistent and reliable means of managing our Training and Competence. It allows various levels of access from Learner to Master user and presents a single point of reference for all our Training & Competency information, which, in a highly regulated industry is hugely beneficial.The reporting tools allow the users to get valuable insights and plan effective actions to maintain and improve our collective competencies. The introduction of the totally electronic PDR's has been a game changer from the old paper based system.The value for money I believe is outstanding when compared to some other systems.

Cons

Some of the terminology used within the system takes some getting used to but this is quickly learnt. The manuals give basic instruction but could be improved. Having said that, the team from SkillStation are very quick to assist with any issues via telephone or Teams calls.

Pros

This is a very intuitive system, gives great visibility of progress, and current status. The ability to demonstrate and maintain competence is absolutely key in our business. While we are yet to fully utilise the platform, it will become a key pointer for training needs, and succession planning

Cons

There is a large degree of effort required to populate skills and skill groups, but once it is done, modification is easy.

Excellent experience with skills station from initial stages, setting up and implementing it across 3 sites. \[sensitive content hidden\] have been a fantastic support nothing was too much trouble and always a fast response to any questions or support we needed. I give this product 5 starts and 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a trainig compliance software.

How easy it is to use, and being able to run reports very quickly and easy.

Cons

We haven't found anything that we don't like so far can only fully recommend the product.

By implementing SkillStation, we have now been able to streamline our way of capturing competency data, and ensure that all departments have a skills matrix and are able to view skill gaps and opportunities for progression.

Pros

SkillStation has everything required of a competency management system. It has the capacity to review and report on an entire teams competency level, which is great for succession planning and identifying skill gaps. We are still in the implementation stage, however, the few that are up and running on the system are already keen to start working on closing their skill gaps.

Cons

For new users, the software can be quite complicated. We have had to create user guides to help people navigate their way around it, especially for administrators. There are a few things SkillStation does not allow you to do, which can make it difficult for managers to sign off their teams.

Pros

SkillStation is a user friendly system that allows DFDS to manage its operational staff competence. The system is not over-complicated and therefore easily used by multiple departments to monitor their staff competence on a daily/weekly basis.

Cons

For our business needs, SkillStation offers exactly what we need to monitor our staff competence and schedule of re-assessments when they are due.

Overall my experience has been positive, we are not where I would like us to be in the deployment of Skill Station to the wider population of the site for various business reasons. It has helped to provide quick and easy over views to organise training and certification for audits which has made these tasks much easier to manage for the site.

Pros

The software makes it easy to plan for future training needs on annual refreshers, also giving oversight of where we may need training and the gaps that we have in particular training.

Cons

Skill Station for us is still in infancy, inherited from a previous colleague. we do not have a lot of the additional features as not currently needed, I do not dislike anything about the platform, I would like notifications around training events that have taken place where attendance status are not updated/competency data not input, sometimes being away from my desk for a couple days whilst training takes place means it can be forgotten to go on and update these features, it may also be beneficial to have a lockout or completed banner of some kind when data has already been input for that session.

Reason for choosing SkillStation

Other products where considered however, due to these being organised by someone who has left the business I cannot speak to the reasons at the time other than price, quality of product and business needs will have been major factors in the decision to move ahead with Skill Station.

Skillstation allows us to easily view/record/assess each individuals competency record, the system itself has enabled us to construct clear training plans for new starters and help us to identify areas of improvement across our workforce. We are also easily able to keep track of expiry skills, objectives and training events within the system.

Pros

The reporting tool within Skillstation has been invaluable for us, we can easily view employee competency levels and/or expiring skills with just a few clicks - it has allowed us to identify skills gaps across our teams which we were unable to before and made planning for training courses so much easier.

Cons

I feel that it could be improved by having some kind of 'back' button within the system, we've noticed when raising objectives once we save one we have to go back through the whole process again
