Being able to see grades, discipline reports, and upcoming events allow families to gain insight into the school. Pros Gradelink is a very simple School information System (SIS). As such, the setup time is very fast. The Gradelink support team is very helpful in getting the support that is necessary. Cons Because the SIS is a simple, there are not many additional features. The basic features- gradebook, lesson plans, etc. are accessible. However, the more complex features are not available. Once learning the location of the tasks I frequent (which took all of a few hours or so of use), it is by far the best online gradebook our system has used. Pros Compared to our previous system, Gradelink is far superior. Entering grades and assignments is easy, and straight forward. In the past I have sent feedback with an issue I was having with the login procedure, and I can tell improvements have been made in that area (indicating the developers are listening). Tracking student information with not just normal information, but also with disciplinary issues makes it easier to see if a student is acting up in multiple classes or just one. Cons There are times when Gradelink has issues with the login procedure. This was mentioned in the Pros area. The issue where having been away from Gradelink after an extended period of time (e.g. overnight, or over the weekend), it will attempt to continue to work with the current session when in reality it has been logged out. It appears the session is still active, and then ultimately updates itself indicating the session has expired (losing whatever work you have already inputted). This has greatly improved over the course of the prior and current semester. We have used Gradelink for about seven years, and we are very happy with this program. We use it for everything in the school - communications, attendance and grades, lunch billing, discipline, lesson plans, enrollment, and more! It's very convenient to only have to use one program for all these things. Pros Gradelink is very user-friendly once you learn the ropes. They offer great tutorial videos for every aspect of the program, which is super helpful. We use the communications feature (both email and mass texting) almost daily at our school. It is perfect for last-minute reminders about due dates or for changes in schedules, as in snow days and weather delays. Cons The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because there are some features that are missing that would be very helpful. The Gradelink app is great for parents and students, but there is no option for an app for the teachers or admin to use. It would be so helpful to be able to communicate via our phones, but instead we have to use a laptop to send messages. Gradelink does open on a phone browser, but it does not optimize for mobile viewing and will cut off the screen. The other feature that is inconvenient is that parents can't enroll from the app. They must log in on a laptop to do this. April 22, 2026 5.0 Pros I started using Gradelink when our administration decided to change our student information system. It was very helpful when transferring all of our information into a new database. Customer Service was top notch when I had to call and ask about any concerns or questions I had. I worked as the Office Manager and was in charge of making sure everything transferred smoothly. I now work as a teacher and use this for student and teacher information. This help keeps track of students behavior, grades, billing as well as the teachers lesson plans and calendars. It helps our administration to look and see what students are interrupting our class management strategies and to better help us flow and make progress. Cons That it doesn't remember your payment information or allow you to use Apple Pay. This would make payments faster and even more convenient. April 23, 2026 5.0 We have used Gradelink for 6 years now and overall have been very pleased. We know that it is capable of so much more than we are using it for. Pros Gradelink is an amazing tool. On the administrative side of it, I love how easy it makes communicating with our parents/staff through email and text. We have used systems in the past that charged us per person per text that we sent out; with Gradelink, we pay a flat amount per student for that same service. I also like that parents are able to log in to see where their student is academically also where they stand financially. Teachers are able to keep great records of their students' assignments along with grades. Customer support is great! If you have a question, there are many tips and help videos that are there to support you. Cons One thing that I wish was different is how you must conclude each term at the end of a quarter. This makes it a bit of a hassle if anything needs to be changed at a later time. I also would like to see there be an option for dropdown categories in Billing. We have parents that use it to pay tuition along with lunch orders and after school activities. Unless they specifically make a note, it gets confusing when they make a payment for multiple categories. A dropdown option could streamline that. Gradelink is built on a logical scheme that makes it easy to figure out how to accomplish the tasks needed to track students, lessons, and grades. Cons It can be frustrating when Gradelink shuts down on me while I'm entering grades. I notice it seems to reboot around lunchtime or just before. Perhaps that is when peak use occurs? Also, sometimes when I go in to edit an assignment, it will disappear completely. I have to use the back arrow on the page to regain the assignment. It is helpful and straightforward. It makes things really easy especially to do with entering grades, handling the weight of grades, and communicating with parents. I have no major complaints! Pros I love the SmartSend feature! It is so helpful to be able to send messages to specific groups of parents, schedule messages, and such. It is also very straightforward and easy to use. I also love the grading features, again all very straightforward and easy to use. It makes grading and communicating so much less stressful! Cons I don't like how Gradelink times out frequently. I would prefer if there was a way to decide how long you wanted to stay signed in until it signs you out. Sometimes I come back to my computer and have to log in again because I have been teaching a lesson and then I lose my spot where I was and have to reload to the correct subject and entering grades or such. I have also noticed it is sometimes not possible or just difficult to create a list of certain combinations of students. For example, the names of all the girls, the names of all the boys, the names of all the students and their parents emails, etc. I don't know if there is a way to make it easy to choose the combination of lists that you want and then just have a copy of that. As a lead teacher, I oversee the training and support of my fellow educators on Gradelink. The feedback from teachers is consistently positive regarding the Lesson Plans and the Gradesheet features. I particularly enjoy the ability to save and duplicate Lesson Plans. Transitioning to digital Report Cards has significantly saved us time. Overall, Gradelink proves to be an excellent platform for our school. Cons The one aspect I find less appealing is the State Standards. It would be beneficial to have access to all State standards within the lesson plan section. I've noticed that several standards are missing, and it would be great to access them on our end. While I would love to see more Google Drive integration and more flexibility with links in emails, Gradelink has been a reliable and practical tool for managing my class. Pros Gradelink is an overall very easy-to-use classroom management system. I appreciate how simple it is to create assignments, enter grades, and keep student progress organized. I especially like that I can generate progress reports to help students and families stay on track. The Smart Send option is also very helpful for communication. I also appreciate the flexibility of entering grades as points, letter grades, or percentages, depending on the needs of the class. Cons One limitation is that attachments cannot be added directly from Google Drive. I have to download the file first, convert or save it as a PDF, and then upload it separately, which adds extra steps. I also wish emails allowed more than one link, since teachers often need to share multiple resources with students or parents at the same time. It is easy to navigate and use. I would recommend it to schools and parents. Pros That you can email parents directly from Gradelink. I like all of the different lists that it generates like birthdays. I like that parents are able to update their information directly onto Gradelink. Cons I wish that I were able to import and export grades to Schoology. I wish that we could put our vacation and days off directly into Gradelink, and it would automatically put them into the attendance. I would like it to say the difference between early leave and 1/2 dismissal, and the same with the morning absence and tardy. Pros I like that all student related things are on platform from attendance, lesson planning grading and communication with parents. I like its lesson plan feature the best and it has helped me a lot in designing my lessons for a week. Cons It is very good however when i design a class newsletter in CANVA the pdf file is often too large to be attached. Its capacity for attachments is limited. Pros User friendly, easy to input grades and get reports. The smartsend feature is my favorite for sending out parent emails. Having to re-enter grades would be frustrating; unfortunately, there isn’t a way to transfer them from one class to another.
