What I appreciate most is how everything is in one place—secure video sessions, scheduling, billing, client messaging, and record-keeping. The system is HIPAA-compliant, user-friendly, and integrates seamlessly into my day-to-day workflow. It has simplified my life to have so many of my private practice business systems in one place: intake paperwork, session notes, billing and payment processing, virtual sessions. I love that my clients can access their account independently to manage sessions, print billing statements, and send secure messages. In addition, the customer is FABULOUS! My dedicated person is \[sensitive content hidden\], who has been incredibly helpful over the many years I've used this platform. He responds quickly to any inquiries I might have, and his information and feedback is always helpful and actionable. I can't recommend CounSol.com enough! The customer service is excellent. When I reach out for help or answers I receive it within a 24 hour or less period. It is an easy to use platform. Secure HIPPA. Good instructions, professional, respectful and helpful. Pros There are so many things I like about CounSol. It is clear and easy to navigate through. It is very secure. It offers the client a private journal and an email service for the client to keep in touch with their therapist when needed between sessions. Cons There is nothing that I don't like about CounSol. I also value the help documents that I can print out and refer back to. There are a lot of features that help automate the intake process and tracks when things are due - treatment plans etc. The cost is manageable when changing from the non-insurance plan to the insurance processing plan ($10 increase per month). Cons I find it cumbersome to create the client forms, internal forms, printed assessments. It is not as user friendly as dragging/dropping a fillable PDF. My account manager has offered to help with setting up forms, so that has been nice. Not being able to edit/add to the progress note template to include specific information that are requirements for specific insurance companies. There is no ability to send HIPAA compliant faxes to other providers. I started as an individual practitioner and have grown a group practice, all with CounSol. Pros I find that CounSol is unique in having a dedicated customer service helper who responds incredibly quickly. I like how we can create as many of our own forms as we want, and all of the features for assigning forms and documents. I really like the transparency of cost, and since we don't pay per client, it is very cost effective for a growing practice. Our clients love the client portal, and we find the journal system a helpful feature as well, especially for clients who want to be in touch without having to respond (we respond to messages). We like the portal for our email with clients. The billing system works very well too. I guess we pretty much like everything. Cons I think CounSol has a dated appearance (skin), however the features are so good, and the look is easy to navigate. Reason for choosing CounSol.com I like that CounSol did not charge additional per use credit card fees, did not charge per use Office Ally fees for billing, and also that we could have unlimited number of active and inactive clients without paying extra or having to close client files early. I have used quite a few over the years and really like the ease of this platform. I like being able to contact someone if I have issues and the help section is very helpful. Pros I have a customer service person I can email at anytime that I am having an issue and have a question. When I first started, he was getting daily emails as I was learning the software. Now it is occasional as I know the program after 3 years but still he he answers all questions quickly. I like that I can use Counsol on every platform and it is adaptable for my practice needs. I do like the email portion, that it has an integrated televideo platform (not the best with iffy internet) and integrated billing/insurance claims Cons The clearinghouse is Ally and they have a smaller portion of the insurance market. I can still submit claims but have to pay $35/month if more claims submitted to non-participating vs participating insurances. I do a workaround by creating paper claims in Counsol and use portals such as Availity or directly to Optum. The billing portion took me longer to learn and still have some issues with that but that is input error not programing. I have no complaints and find it easy to use. I would recommend it to other providers as an option as someone suggested to me. Pros I do like the value I get for the money that I pay monthly. I have not had issues in using the site. I like the layout and competing the notes is not difficult. I like my clients receive reminders and I have reminders about treatment plans, etc. I do like it keeping stats on appointments and cancelations and tracking over several years. Also, I like the tracking of payments so I can see the trends. Cons Not being able to bill through the clearing house for CCBHO, but I realize they are totally different codes that other providers. I'd like the form creation to be more intuitive to set up. I still haven't set anything up because it's such a hassle. It would be nice if there were standard forms (PHQ9, GAD7) already created. It's a powerful tool that allows nearly everything I need to run my practice. Pros Billing is really easy. I have a contact person who can answer questions. There's a great deal of flexibility for entering forms. Cons Some of the things are not very intuitive. Most of the time I try to figure out how to do something via help I wind up asking my contact what to do. Usually there's a solution, but sometimes the site doesn't allow what I want to do. I can trust it's as secure it can be. It's easy to use for myself, my interns, and my clients. Pros I'm a virtual therapist. I have to use all the integrated features. It seems they've thought of everything, from scheduling, meeting in a secure chat room, billing, and note keeping. My clients feel secure meeting with me in this program. They can easily pay for their sessions, keep a secure journal, access worksheets I upliad for them and send me encrypted messages if they choose. Cons I wish I could command a sync of the calendar to my external Google calendar. I have to wait for that to happen and sometimes I need it sooner.
