“The file management is a bit annoying without drag-and-drop functionality--or even a menu where you can choose folders within the folder you're in--it slows down the process to have to drill down from the home folder each time I want to move assets.“

### "Effective basic DAM"

March 17, 2026

4.0

We're very satisfied with Filecamp: easy to upload and share images at a low cost. It's safe, reliable and overall very user-friendly if you're not into very advanced features and only need the basics.

Pros

Ease of use: uploading and sharing images is very simple. In addition to folders you can create collections of images that are stored in separate folders. Very convenient to share images externally. Unfortunately other users can't see collections you've made unless you send a link to it.

Cons

Tagging, user and folder management could be better. A lot of it works by copying rights to other folders or users, but that makes it more difficult after a while to know which rights should be copied. It's also not always straightforward to understand who can see what. But there is a 'Login as' function so you can mimic another user to help with that. Finding images with a specific tag is difficult as there is no tag cloud to click tags. You have to know them by heart or be lucky that you hit on them while searching.

Reason for choosing Filecamp

Pricing was a major reason, but also the overload of features with the alternatives. Features we didn't require.

### "Easy to use, and provides a professional touch"

August 26, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with FileCamp has been excellent. The platform is very intuitive, which makes the learning curve simple for both our team and our clients, so no training or instructions are needed. File management is straightforward and logical, with clear folder structures that make it easy to stay organised. We also work with a lot of visual content, and being able to preview images and videos directly in FileCamp makes reviewing and sharing assets much easier. This asset management aspect adds real value compared to more basic file sharing tools. Overall, FileCamp has given us a secure, professional, and user-friendly way to manage and share files. It ticks all the boxes for our business needs and has been a great decision.

Pros

What I like most about FileCamp is how intuitive and professional it feels. It’s so easy for clients and colleagues to use that I never need to send instructions, which saves time and avoids confusion. The ability to customise the platform with our own colours and branding really sets it apart from generic drives, making everything look polished and on-brand. On top of that, the security features allow me to control exactly who has access to each file, which is essential for working with multiple clients.

Cons

There really isn't anything to dislike, we find it ticks all of the boxes. I suppose if it would be improved it would havea reporting module perhaps, but in all honesty that isn't what we use it for, and none of the competition has that.

Alternatives considered

[Onehub](https://www.capterra.com/p/152879/Onehub/)

Reason for choosing Filecamp

We found that FileCamp offered more for the money, and aspects to make the system appear more bespoke cost more to do with Onehub, and FileCamp offered better value for money.

### "Was Pleased Until the Latest Update"

June 12, 2019

2.0

Filecamp makes a great file management system for sharing documents, video, etc, but recent updates have seriously overlooked some of the functionality that made it user-friendly and efficient.

Pros

• Ability to store and share files • Uploads are made easily • Customer service is quick to respond • Low cost to our company

Cons

• Inability to bulk edit permissions without using an existing profile to mirror (e.g. if you create a new folder you must edit each individual's permission to allow them to view it) • They used to offer user "groups" to categorize and organize your user database. This was great because you could ensure all members of that group had the same permissions. Now that this feature is no longer available, you must rely on each administrator to enable the proper permissions to each individual user. This is time consuming and leaves room for error.

Review Source

Response from Filecamp

June 13, 2019

Hi Amanda With the new bulk permissions update feature, you can do (almost) the same as you could with user groups. But I understand that in your use case it was perhaps easier before. Sorry about that! And we apologize for releasing such a big update in one go. We are looking forward to having a solid and future-proof platform from where we can release super tiny updates more frequently. Best regards, Jesper Faurby Co-founder Filecamp.com

### "Essential way of sharing files externally."

February 23, 2026

5.0

We have been using the filecamp platform for over a decade now and it has become an essential part of our workflow. The team enjoy using it as its so simple and never lets us down.

Pros

The platform is really intuitive and easy to use and its great that you can brand it as your own with easy customization options. This allows to share files in a professional manner with pur clients without having to use something like WeTransfer. The platform security has always been very robust and sharing files securely and privately is very straightforward.

Cons

It can be xpensive if you ahve a lot of storage and once you have a lot of folders to go through it can be difficult and time consuming finding where all the storage is used up. It also doesnt seem to get many updates but it is reliable and consistent.

### "We <3 Filecamp"

August 18, 2025

5.0

It's not often we integrate new software and everything feels seamless. Filecamp was like that. It has the solutions for what we require and does it all without lagging in one way or another. Lovely.

Pros

I use Filecamp to manage product approvals. It's simple to navigate and allows me to create easy access for external users. It's particularly good for image storage, providing clear tiles for a number of file types, and good search functions across the various meta data your images might have.

Cons

It would be nice if you could drag and drop files into other folders. The process of running through the folder system to move things is tedious.

August 18, 2025

Pros

Filecamp is a great place to store and share documents with not only our internal team, but also company accounts and consumers.

Cons

### "Filecamp: A Seamless and Efficient Digital Asset Management Solution"

October 4, 2024

5.0

My overall experience with Filecamp has been outstanding. It has enhanced our team's workflow by simplifying how we manage and share digital assets. The platform's reliability and customer support have been excellent, making it a valuable tool for our business. I highly recommend Filecamp to any company in need of a flexible, cloud-based digital asset management solution.

Pros

What I like most about Filecamp is its simplicity and user-friendly interface. It's incredibly easy to organize, share, and collaborate on digital assets with teammates and clients. The customizable branding options are a huge plus, as they allow us to maintain a professional appearance when sharing assets externally. The search functionality is very robust, making it quick to find specific files, even when we’re managing a large volume of content. Overall, Filecamp has streamlined our asset management process and improved collaboration across teams.

Cons

I haven't encountered any issues worth mentioning. The platform works exactly as we need it to.

### "Brilliant online document sharing and storage option!"

December 1, 2020

5.0

We love Filecamp!

Pros

Filecamp is easy to use, keeps documents secure and enables user-friendly sharing and receiving of documents. It has an all important link sharing expiry option, which means that links to documents cannot be abused. You are able to share files and folder with people who do are not registered with your Filecamp storage platform, which is very handy for once off document sharing requirements.

Cons

The moving of documents between folders is a bit slow as there is no drag and drop or cut and paste option.

### "Filecamp is our media library"

April 10, 2020

4.0

Being able, to brand, control users and share files via link has made things much easier for our sales staff and for uploading content to our distribution channels. Working with larger vendors who need a huge amount of product artwork for their online catalogs, love that I can send them their own library of content.

Pros

We previously used Dropbox but it became a file wasteland with difficult to find files. For Media Files Filecamp and the ability to see thumbnails was a huge improvement.

Cons

I would like to be able to have a navigation that could mimic our current website and/or integrate into Wordpress. I think finding items is tricky for users not familiar with clicking around to find things.

### "Secure File Sharing especially when team has gone fully remote"

August 3, 2020

5.0

Since moving assets to the cloud, Filecamp has become an almost daily tool for our marketing team. It's easy access allows our remote team to collaborate quickly and easily when sharing assets.

Pros

It was very easy to move all of our media assets to filecamp. We had to find a solution quickly once we went remote because before we stored all media locally. Filecamp was quick and easy to setup while ensuring everything was secure.

Cons

Could be more mobile friendly. Also would be great to have custom views in terms of icon size. Other then that it's been a real easy adoption internally

### "The perfect tool for changing your everyday all day."

February 5, 2025

5.0

I highly recommend Filecamp for managing digital files, the solution for an incredibly seamless experience, and keeping your team connected.

Pros

I was searching for a hassle-free way to share and store files to make a long review short, Filecamp. I've found Filecamp's drag-and-drop interface make uploading files a cakewalk. Another big plus is security and ease of use. I can confidently say Filecamp is my perfect solution for file management.

Cons

### "Game changer for marketing agencies "

May 2, 2022

5.0

This has been a great tool for approving, sharing and storing assets. Now that we've been using for close to a year, it has become part of our daily routines!

Pros

I love how simple it is to share assets with team members as well as with clients who don't have filecamp accounts. We also love the ability to store all of our assets and label them for easy access when needed!

Cons

We've run into some issues with the storage amount. Although, after we cleaned out files we no longer needed and were good to go!

### "Good product "

March 30, 2020

4.0

Unreasonable Studios (UNR) is unarguably a massive content-making production house that creates, masters and catalogs assets on a privately protected server not accessible to our partner agencies and clients. UNR currently houses over 50 photoshoots consisting of over thousands of images, hundreds of logos and fonts and numerous master product shots. We also own hundreds of stock templates and royalty-free images. Departments within the partner agency, especially accounts and creative, constantly request the assets described above from UNR. So much time is spent searching and sending and exporting files in different formats back and forth. Sometimes these assets are repeated for the same people. UNR assets are only assets if colleagues can efficiently access and use them. The idea is to open up the asset vaults that will help account people send assets to their clients without a 3rd person involved. The creative teams will have access to assets 24/7 when they are working on pitches, presentations or creative layouts. Clients can also be given controlled access to the assets when needed. For example, after photoshoots, the agency and clients can get instant access to photos when they are uploaded to the DAM. The endless back and forth of reviewing photos over email is clunky and does not elegantly present our work professionally.

Pros

User interface is great Easy to learn and navigate Features work great.

Cons

The load time of the pages takes too long. No thumbnails previews for large PSD files. I prefer the old labeling rather than the dots. It is easy to read APPROVED or NEW PROOF or whatever the label is then to try to remember what the colour represents. Especially when you have multiple label sets. Drag and drop to move files would be amazing. The commenting tool is weak. It needs more features, like circling or highlighting.

### "Powerful Software for Great Price"

June 23, 2022

5.0

It's made the creative process a lot easier with freelancers I love that I can give them access to what they need and nothing more and I can even have the access expire because who remembers to manage all those logins. It's great.

Pros

This product is exactly what a small business needs, and has plenty of room for scaling.

Cons

The UI isn't as "fancy" as some of the higher-end products, but honestly, it's not an issue and the fact it's simple and customizable has been actually a good thing. I also wish it integrated with google docs or other software so it was more centralized but it definitely gets the job done.

Reason for choosing Filecamp

Price. It was definitely the most affordable option but I didn't feel I had to sacrifice too many features.

### "Filecamp is THE best deal for Digital Asset Management"

January 8, 2021

5.0

We now have a centralized and managed place where digital assets can reside and we can control who has access to what. It's a tool that is used by multiple departments, yet each one can have their own area of control. It also replaced the file sharing service that we used, Filecamp handles it all for us.

Pros

Filecamp is very affordable, yet offers a lot of great features. I've been pushing my company to take the plunge into Filecamp for a couple of years. We've looked at other options, but for our needs, they were just too expensive. Filecamp is a great balance of cost effective and power. For our purposes, it's a perfect fit.

Cons

I suggest that metadata is added to the files, before they are uploaded to Filecamp. While there is a method to add it there, it's a little clunky, due to the nature of the web interface. Not really an issue with Filecamp, in my opinion, just doing the right job with the right tool. Add your metadata while still in your desktop application or use a tool like Adobe Bridge to do it right.

Reason for choosing Filecamp

All others were too expensive.

March 4, 2021

5.0

Filecamp has allowed us to seamlessly store our content in a single location, arranged in a logical structure. tagged/classified and easy to view. Our digital assets are now significantly more accessible and valuable as a result.

Pros

We were looking for a tool that allowed us to easily host, sort and view our images. Filecamp allowed us to do that with ease. The ability to arrange files in a tiered structure, and then view/scroll through files easily was one of our main criteria.

Cons

### "Easy-peasy"

February 22, 2021

5.0

We are volunteers who call ourselves "advocates" meaning we wish to promote the entity we support, a non-profit. Filecamp is affordable for our shoe-string budget, accessible to any with the password and valuable to meet just what we were looking for.

Pros

Very easy to use, Filecamp meets a particular need for our group of volunteers to share files used in promotions. Intuitive, so that a novice or casual user can navigate to find what they want and even technophobes can handle the admin tasks. It has a large storage capacity for the many photo files we have and most importantly for us, it is searchable and displays the content visually.

Cons

This is just a personal peeve. I do search the file often and wish the search bar would refresh with each search and not retain the last word searched. That one extra little step to delete the previous search term is an annoyance.

### "Filecamp is powerful, simple to use, great value for money"

April 6, 2020

5.0

Excellent. Support is the best we have seen from any 'software as a service' product, and we use lots.

Pros

The ease and simplicity of set-up and of use. There is no complexities to it. Easy share files, based on permissions. You can brand as your own. Support responses are quick and helpful. It's also inexpensive - a low monthly fee. There are no contracts, either. It's a great model for both Filecamp and for us. Great for them, because they must know that users are going to stay on-board. We will!

Cons

We like everything about it. We opted for the basic version because it has everything we need.. for now. There are some extra features we would like, that are in their more advanced versions, but for now very pleased with what we have.

Pros

Filecamp was extremely easy to set up and has a very intuitive design. It's simple and effective for organizing images and files to easily share with my team.

Cons
