\- We no longer need to have different excel spreadsheets for each provinces (for different tax rates), and we do not need to update some of the changing tax features, such as large companies. - Reduce paper printed. - Easier approval process - Very good customer services

Pros

\- Ability to directly save invoices into the system from a camera - Automatic calculation of mileage - Calculation of taxes according to the applicable rules.

Cons

\- The speed of the system; when you click on a tab it takes a few seconds to get to the new page. - The mobile application could be more complete and allow to never need the computer.

We're glad you like the Canadian sales tax functionalities as well as the distance calculator, as these are core functionalities of Advataxes to properly claim recoverable taxes and lower the time required to fill out an expense report. As for your other comments we are also working on increasing the speed of certain features.

### "Good concept, still place for improvement"

Good! But definitively place for improvement on user friendliness.

Pros

Scanning of invoice right away. Easy place to store the invoice picture

Cons

Unable to write a title to a scanned invoice for easy usage later on. Unable to forward a pdf invoice received in an email (from an hotel). No app on iPhone so not able to use without Internet access. Not able to start simultaneously two separate expense reports (for example, one for expenses on Company credit card and one for expenses made on personal credits card or else, like traveling kilometer expenses).

Reason for choosing Advataxes

Recommended by Accounting. Only option presented to me. Still better than Excel file...

even though it is not integrated with accounting system, I would prefer to use this considering the approval workflow and delegation. we don't have to chase people for supporting documents for the transactions they occurred through their credit cards to reconcile at the month end time which saved time and keeps the documents in one place for auditors.

Pros

it has the option to correct the approved expenses claims and corporate credit cards calculation and update the supporting if the submitter submitted it wrong. I liked to have the corporate credit cards transactions uploading, approval workflow and delegation. audit train or combined reporting with receipts, localized features and tax-rules built in etc.

Cons

while uploading CSV file of credit card transactions is supported , it would be great if we could have integrated within the bank. which would be real time sync. Also, AVDA tax transactions are not syncing with the accounting system which is also a great lacking which creates double work for accountants.

Hello, Thank you very much for your feedback, it is truly appreciated. We are happy you appreciate the credit card transactional upload in the account of each employee holding a credit card. First and foremost, Advataxes is designed with GST/HST and QST rules in mind so we make sure that employees can upload an image of their receipt and attach it to each bank card transaction. We may investigate in fully automating this process with financial institutions, yet the current method allows each admin to review all expense transactions before transferring them to employees for additional controls. For NPOs Advataxes is also designed to calculate GST/HST rebate rates with different recoverable rate for each province. Yet you can look if your accounting software has the flexibility to import a csv file listing all expense transactions and the net recoverable GST/HST for each expense report, in order to fully benefit from our sales tax logic and automation.

Overall the experience is positive. The software does "its job". I hope that the price range will continue to be an affordable one.

Pros

Users' feedback was good, overall users felt that "the software is easy to use". In terms of implementation, it provided great flexibility and required very little adaptation of our current accounting policies and various types of expenditures.

Cons

One feature would be helpful to have is a connection to the banking credit card system, where users can log in to Advataxes and view their outstanding credit card expenses and match the expense with the receipt in real time. This would streamline the process and eliminate the follow up work on missing receipts.

Reason for choosing Advataxes

WE explored 3 options. Each had its own pluses and minuses. Nexonia offered an integration with our accounting system but it did not allow us to test the product which made it hard to envision the process before implementing it across the organization.

As for the credit card integration, we have been recently doing business with a third party provider (Plaid) that maintains a link with +100 North American banks. ### "Ease of use!"

Really positive so far, been using it for five years (both the desktop and more recently the smartphone application). The software actually has shown minor improvements over the years but overall it has always been easy to work with.

Pros

The ability to use an application on your smartphone to prepare and submit expense reports for the company is really helpful. You do not need to be close to a scanner for receipts any more or at your desktop/laptop.

Cons

Sometimes the decimal points on the tax portion of the expenses do not work out quite well, from the automatic calculation. You have to play around with the amounts to get the total amount including tax to add up and become the same as the total on the expense receipt.

Hi John, thank you for your comments. We are happy that you like our new IOS/Android App. When there is a discrepancy between the pre-calculated tax and the tax on an invoice, we find it is easier to edit the tax amount while the "tax included" option is selected.

### "User friendly, quick access to information "

I use the software both as a user to do my expense reports and to approve and process the expense reports of other employees and the software is so user-friendly that requires little training to get familiarize with. It is a great tool to track the approval process of the reports and to make reports to see how much is being spent by employees and by departments. The only downside of the software is that it does not provide the total amount being spent in each account, you have to do it manually by downloading the report in excel format and arranging it yourself. Other than that, is a great software if you are looking to go paperless since it gives you the option to upload receipts straight from your phone or computer as an attachment.

Pros

\- Easy to use - Paperless option - Able to trace reports and download information to excel

Cons

\- Does not give the total per category/account

### "Does what I need it to do"

Pros

I like that it is available on the phone or computer.

Cons

It's UX interface takes a bit of a learning. I'm not sure that I would consider it to be highly accessible. You have to be onboarded to understand how to use it properly, I wouldn't say that it is inherently intuitive. For example, in the place of buttons with text that reflects the button function, you are often interacting with imagery/symbols. Once you learn these things, this isn't an issue. It's just more of a barrier for the initial user experience and flow when you are getting to know the software.

Globaly, Advataxes was used to refund some travel costs and it worked pretty well.

Pros

There's a lot of flexibility with the content of the product we are putting in an advataxe report, permitting to be more in line with the need of the people.

Cons

The modification of the dates is hard to do and sometimes we need to cancel some entries.

Overall experience is good. It would be great if there would be the option of multiple currency.

Pros

The application is efficient, easy to use and best of all paperless. Reports and receipts are easily accessible for future use. All notes between administrator and user are also visible.

Cons

The report summary should include: \*the actual report date, not only the approved date \*the actual currency of submitted report \*the supplier name The administrator has access to see the above information in the other reports, but the team posting the summary report is missing this important information.

It helps to make the work easier without the use of a printer. reduced the work load as cell phones are used by everyone all the time. Fast and very reliable.

Pros

Can be used from anywhere when you have a cell phone with you. Fast and reliable. Good help from the support team whenever required.

Cons

This software doesn't seemed to be designed well for the cell phones as the pages don't load/ appear appropriately while loading the software. It can be redesigned/ adjusted for the use of cellphones so that the pages will fit on the cellphone screen.

Pros

The software is mostly easy to use, I like that there is a multi-step authorization process and allows for timely reimbursements

Cons

The platform could be a little more user-friendly by having more intuitive navigation. For example, the submission of expenditure reports- often team members think their reports have been submitted but there is an extra step to complete submission for review that is not very visible/intuitive.

Also Advataxes is a great enabler with the reports that can be exports to Excel, so that you can filter, yet we will add other goal oriented reports such as KM threshold per employee. Hello Isabel, thank you for your comments. As for your comments regarding scanning receipts, there is a faster way to do this. You can use a smartphone and connect to the mobile side and upload pictures directly from your phone without having to scan anything. You can view the videos on this in the bulletin board of your account or contact us for any explanations needed.

Submitting expense forms online is more efficient than paper forms.

Cons

It would be nice if you could select multiple destinations (on same day) and it would prefill the start address, date, etc. from the previous line.
