### "Which one is so awesome!"

March 25, 2026

5.0

As the owner of a fairly young business, I find my way fumbling through things such as payroll. Wagepoint is always there for me with quick responses and graceful guidance It’s streamline so many hard to understand things such as proper applied taxes, and deductions to employees paycheques With automation and emails that keep the entire thing turning with very little effort I recommend it to any Business Owner with employees

Pros

The nature in which things are taken care of automatically without the need of in-depth knowledge on accounting skills

Cons

When systems become glitchy, there’s not much you can do about it Although this is a rare occurrence, and I find the system pretty reliable and seamless

### "Very positive experience and appreciation of human communication"

June 5, 2025

5.0

My experience with Wagepoint is very positive. I have only good things to say about that platform and especially about their team.

Pros

I like that there is a human communication any time I need help. I like that they make it easy to reach out any time I have a question. The program itself works well for my needs and needs of my clients.

Cons

Perhaps I would like to have a bit more reports. It is bit convoluted to have off schedule pay or irregular pay but not too bad.

Very bad , no direct way to contact someone over phone, all cost cutting .

Pros

automated , employees have access and can find their stuff with out bothering you.

Cons

but very bad system , if you need to dig some old info. cant go back beyond 6 months, customer support team is almost nil. they increase price after you sign contract. Very very very bad experience, I will get out at the earliest.

### "The best Payroll software so far"

December 19, 2024

5.0

In general, we like Wagepoint. We came after using ADP and QB and found out it is better and user-friendly, with easily accessible help

Pros

User-friendly, fits most of our requirements, cheaper than for example QB, and a very good Help service. Opportunity to create and edit ROE, sending it to Service Canada over Wagepoint. T4/T4A . I like reports - very clear info and easy to find.

Cons

We still should do manual entry of HST for contractors, variable dues that are calculated as a rate per hour (not per dollar earned). Also, T4/T4A should have all boxes available for use Would be good if Wagepoint showed warnings if w submit T4/T4A without SIN or HST

Alternatives considered

[QuickBooks Online](https://www.capterra.com/p/190778/QuickBooks-Online/)

Reason for choosing Wagepoint

Too expensive ($4 per person) and less opportunity for variations in payroll

Switched from

It was ADP- I don't know which one out of variants you offer for response. ADP Reports were difficult to see numbers, many things we couldn't enter, ROE with errors because of specific construction payroll and no opportunity to edit - always call, but also it was difficult to reach the team for help. It was 2020, maybe they improved now.

It is very helpful with all payroll responsibilities and saves time.

Pros

I love the user friendly layout and ability to use this anywhere I am. And the customer service is wonderful! They are very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and any problems are handled very quickly.

Cons

### "Wagepoint Payroll - Awesome Support Team"

January 13, 2025

4.0

So far it's provided everything we need to process payroll. Anything I need from them, new codes, etc., is provided immediately. And their guidance in certain areas has been much appreciated.

Pros

Their Support Team is fabulous. They are extremely quick and responsive.

Cons

The limitation of the Reports available is frustrating. Some of the reports are lacking in value, but together with others would be good information. Ideally, I'd appreciation an ADHOC report with relatable fields where I can select the fields I want and create & save my own custom version would make this an almost perfect system.

Good experience, would recommend. The ease of Autorun is a game changer for payroll.

Pros

Ease of use. Customer service through email is prompt and a solution is found.

Cons

Upgrading from 1.0 to 2.0. There was an unexpected task for signing authority to take. There were a few bugs to work out for T4 filing. Having said that, Wagepoint communicated with customers and answered my emails in a timely manner.

### "Wagepoint... The very best of the best"

January 1, 2025

5.0

About 4-5 years ago, I sought out a company to process my payroll transactions. Out of the many journeys an entrepreneur must struggle through, my payroll processing has never been one of them. Wagepoint to me is the best of the best.

Pros

Wagepoint is what i consider a premier quality payroll service with a friendly and intuitive portal for completing pay periods. Their customer service and support is where they truly shine. I can't see myself ever going elsewhere.

Cons

There are no cons. It's unbelievable, but believe it. This company, the culture, the poeple, have been nothing short of awesome all around.

### "Could not be happier"

August 8, 2024

5.0

Amazing. It's one of the best parts of running my business. Makes payroll and anything associated with it a breeze. I've looked at other software programs, but none have as clean and simple user-interface as this.

Pros

User friendly interface, amazing customer support, super easy tax season prep... the list goes on. I have no formal training in HR, Payroll, or anything like that and with Wagepoint, I don't really need to as any time I have a question about payroll, they are extremely helpful and friendly. PLEASE keep up the great work!

Cons

Minor things, almost not worth mentioning. Would be nice if WSIB rate was customizable for auto-deductions/remittance to WSIB, if I use this feature we often overpay and then have to stop paying for a while. Being able to get payroll reports based on a single employee instead of the employee group would be great as well.

### "My Favourite Software"

July 31, 2024

5.0

I have been using Wagepoint for as long as it has been around so at least more than 5 years. Their customer service and tech support is outstanding when I need it. Most of the service I needed is not issues with the software, rather support for client issues. There have never been issues with software itself.

Pros

Wagepoint is easy to set up, easy to navigate, and processes everything for the user compared to other products. No need to file and pay source deductions or calculate WSIB. The customer service is prompt and extremely knowledgeable.

Cons

It's really hard to say. There are none.

Reason for choosing Wagepoint

Wagepoint is far more superior and advanced and there are never issues with the software itself.

### "Service Extraordinaire!"

November 4, 2019

5.0

The AWESOME support team provides answers almost instantaneously for any questions or concerns. This type of response and caring are beyond my wildest dreams. Very seldom have I had to wait beyond 24 hours for a response, which may ask for further clarification of the question or it could be the needed answer and action requirements are spelled out for dealing with the problem at hand.

Pros

Wagepoint is very user-friendly and intuitive.

Cons

Silly as it may sound.....the pulldown menus....not being able to use the "triangle" and having to just click into the box has played havoc with my mind. There used to be a "knowledgebase" where you could go and easily find a solution to your problem without having to overthink how I need to ask the question to get an answer, before having to send out a note to the support team. This has now gone by way of the dodo bird and quite honestly I feel it should be revived.

Reason for choosing Wagepoint

Comparing various similar products Wagepoint was the best bang for our clients' hard-earned dollars. Right from the original discussions about the benefits of Wagepoint I was impressed with the quality of people and their knowledgeable responses to any questions and concerns we had.

### "Awesome Software & Customer Service!"

May 23, 2025

5.0

Overall experience with Wagepoint, having used a variety of payroll softwares over my career, is that it is an efficient and powerful tool for small-medium sized businesses.

Pros

Their software is efficient and easy to work with, making it easy to manage payroll for small-medium sized businesses. Where you need additional support the Team at Wagepoint is always responsive and helpful!

Cons

In Wagepoint 1.0 when you change hours for a salaried employee, it does not automatically recalculate salary, would be nice if it did.

Very user-friendly interface, I only needed one walkthrough with my bookkeeper to understand how to use it. The payroll reminders are useful also.

Pros

Easy to use, prompt and helpful customer service.

Cons

The only suggestion I can add to help improve is the addition of 2FA to improve security and/or a code system. There is a lot of important information on Wagepoint and could potentially make it a target for hackers.

### "The epitome of getting what you pay for"

November 4, 2020

1.0

The customer service is atrocious; I have an email chain documenting unimaginable buffoonery. The height of their incompetence would be hilarious on a show like The Office: I emailed to confirm they weren't making tax filings for a quarter (as I was in the process of transitioning to a competent service). They left me a voicemail that unfortunately the filing had already been made because apparently I hadn't clicked the proper toggle on the website, even though I'd requested from customer service several months earlier that the filings be suspended. I asked to have the filings emailed to me immediately to confirm what was filed. They refused, saying it would be posted to my account within a few days (but after the filing deadline, of course). When the filings still weren't posted by then, I asked where they were. Another rep responded that they were under the impression I didn't want the filings made, so they hadn't been done. If I'd like the filing done, they would - but charge me $75 since it was a $0-filing. I called and reached a receptionist who claimed he could only take a message and was unable to transfer me to a human being. Roughly a day later, a 3rd company rep emailed to report they'd made the filing (for free bc of the "confusion" but w/o actually consulting me on how I wanted to handle the situation). When asked how they planned to address the late-filing penalties, they warned that the responsibility for timely filings was "ultimately" mine. Are you kidding me?

Pros

I was initially attracted to (and eventually chose) this payroll provider for its simplistic cost structure: $22/payroll with all tax filings included. That turned out to be false - if you don't run any payrolls in a quarter, the cost for literally filing a bunch of $0s more than triples to $75. Additionally, I initially liked what I thought was a straightforward and user-friendly interface. That also ended up being false, with the clunky functionality not allowing for granularity such specifying which filings to make in a quarter or personalizing reports.

Cons

It's incredibly clunky, unable to be personalized and reports seem designed to be confusing and not align with each other. Want to specify that a tax filing not be made with one agency this quarter? Too bad; it's all or nothing. Want to compare quarterly tax filings with payroll reports? Sorry; they're formatted completely differently and unable to be modified. Want just a comprehensive year-end report? Sure, but that'll cost you upwards of $100. Additionally, the reports failed to indicate my corporate FICA contributions, so I almost missed taking that substantial deduction.

Reason for choosing Wagepoint

anticipated simplicity and perceived minimal cost structure, but of which proved false.

### "Love this product"

November 26, 2021

5.0

Previous to Wagepoint I would use the online government calculator to calculate payroll expenses, never sure I did it right. I would have to do each employee separately and remember all the deductions or codes that applied to them. I then had to e-transfer funds. With e-transfer limits it would take 2 or 3 days to get everyone paid so I have to start on the 12 or 13 of each month and again on the 29 and 30th. This has been heaven. It took a learning curve and a few rough spots. You never know how good customer service is until you need it. They talked through my frustration and always understood how important paying my amazing staff was. They had several options available to them should a mistake happen. This is when I truly knew the type of company I was dealing with. I recommend them because they are there in the good and bad moments. That is true customer service.

Pros

I love that I can pay my staff in one transaction, the payroll taxes are paid for me and I can break down the different jobs they do to show the hours correctly.

Cons

I wish that we could show days the staff worked and add the actual charters they did (the name of the place) this would make it better for charter drivers. Same with school runs, if I could put the route and if it was am and pm or just am and the days it would help the drivers see it better.
