Groupworld provides a very stable platform which can be scaled according to our needs and provides a feature rich platform which is easy to use. We have tried other platforms but none of them were as easy to use, had the resilience we needed, or lacked essential features. Pros It is really easy to set up and create new shared boards. It is intuitive to use. Very little training is needed by our staff and by our clients. The customer support is FANTASTIC. It just works, with no additional downloads - zero footprint on the machine. And great service Pros I have spent considerable time learning all the different video whiteboard possibilities in terms of education, both at the University level and K-12. After a lengthy analysis, it's not even close to Groupworld offering the best service. Online education is important for 21st-century learners, and Groupworld is a program with all the tools and customization features. I have been highly recommending Groupworld to my University and Business Partners. Cons Everything is great. The service has been well tested out. April 30, 2018 4.0 Pros Groupworld virtually works in every environment, which means it's cross platform and you don't have to worry about what your clients are using as their end device. By their nature some of these processes are fairly cpu or memory intensive. However, a medium AWS server is generally sufficient to handle up to about 150 simultaneous users. (This is only a factor with the self-hosted enterprise license. With the hosted cloud solution we manage the server). We are looking into providing more fine grained control over presenter features (audio/video/whiteboard permissions). BH Barry H. The students have voiced they love it too. It's a modern online classroom with no downloads, no flash, works on all browsers all the time in a simple way, very strong video and audio, and the tools are easy to access. I have tried and worked with numerous online tutor programs, and Groupworld beats all of them by far. It feels like it was built by an educator not some big company that is out of touch. It is customizable, customer support is the best I have ever seen, and everything works as needed. If it doesn't, they help you to get it the way you want all at an affordable price. If there is an issue they are responsive. The part that makes them stand out is they are a small company that helps you make your classroom your own based on your needs and does not do the one size fits all approach. I am impresssed to see how much Groupworld has developed over the last 10 years and my students find it has everything to help them learn math in it. Pros Groupworld has been the best online virtual classroom I have ever found because 1) I can highly customize my own classroom through a settings panel while having multiple classrooms 2) their reliability and clarity of the audio/video and the smoothness of the writing with a deep set of tools on the toolbar and 3) the exceptional help from the company when needed. When tutoring, all features of the classroom have to be reliable, predicatable, and work; students are paying and time is important. Groupworld constantly improves their application and makes it better, clearer, and easier for me to help my students. It is HTML5 which works in all browsers and very rich in features that make it kid friendly. It handles importing documents perfectly and the real time writing on all screens is flawless. Uploads, downloading your screen work as .pdfs, and controls are all positives. The online calculator that appears for both the teacher and student is excellent as well. Cons The only con I can think of is I wish I could rename the pages to help find them easier when I have documents with many pages. Reason for choosing Groupworld Groupworld lets me customize what I need whether it be video size, toolbar items, or control of students in the room. This is key and makes their product very valuable. Teachers all like things certain ways, teach different subjects differently, and Groupworld features help keep the environment fun for kids to learn. I look forward to years of working with them. Owner Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great Software For Any Collaborative Whiteboard Needs" April 17, 2018 5.0 Functioning Whiteboard Software For Everyday Use Pros Very Mature Software With Few Bugs The software was originally developed in 1997 and has been continually improved upon since then. This is hard to find these days with software companies popping up and having numerous bugs and usability issues. I have never encountered a glitch on Groupworld. Easy To Customize Most other softwares don't let you customize. This software is completely customizable especially with the enterprise license. There are several javascript customizations you can do as well that give your users a seamless experience. There are no plugins or downloads and the software runs directly in the browser. Plethora Of Whiteboard Functions Pretty much anything you can think of for whiteboard software is there. Pens, Shapes, Image Uploads, Saving Whiteboard, Password Protection, Pagination, Graphs, Crosshairs etc. There is not a single functionality this whiteboard is missing. Great For Tutors Tutors love this software and find it extremely easy to use. Within minutes (with no explanation) a tutor is able to bring their tutoring online! Pros My development team were able to implement Groupworld into our website, relatively easily. The whiteboard has all the functions you would need for online learning. Cons The whiteboard looks slightly dated but it is customisable! Reason for choosing Groupworld Groupworld offers value for money. April 27, 2018 5.0 Pros Echo cancellation allows tutoring sessions without headsets, and the audio quality is very good and reliable. Cons The software has few weaknesses. The recorded sessions could use a bit of upgrading for user convenience. Previously 24houranswers tried to set this up on their server (they are running the enterprise version of Groupworld on their own server), but had some issues because it was quite an involved process to set up. We have since simplified the process, so hopefully 24houranswers can set this up in future. (For the 25-user and higher hosted solution, running our our server, we provide optional automatic uploading of recordings to Vimeo, which doesn't require any setup by the customer). Florian Z. The software offers an excellent solution for all one's online tutoring needs. Everything a student and tutor could think of that would be needed during a tutoring session, is available. Pros Import Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Tiff and PDF files to the whiteboard, and copy/paste between Groupworld and external applications such as MS Office. Highly reliable, scalable, efficient server software, refined over the last 10 years: supports thousands of users over multiple sessions with little CPU usage, and never crashes. Cons The price is a bit steep especially the Enterprise License, one-time fee. Also, they should consider adding more Asian languages like Thai and Vietnamese. Groupworld is a high-quality product that works perfectly for 1-1 online collaboration and education. Groupworld provides incredible support and flexibility alongside Groupworld software. Scalability and server efficiency are well balanced with features. We are now running over 300 sessions a day. Cons The default user experience needs tweaking for our use-case, and a set of connectivity diagnostics tools would be a welcome feature, but both of these can be addressed outside of group world. The Network recommends all coaches use Groupworld for multiple reasons, including amazing customer service, and replies to inquires. The Network of Coaches agree that the Groupworld platform is the best fit for coaching. Pros Easy to use and can host multiple rooms for coaching. Three years ago I started teaching students online. After looking at several platforms, I chose GroupWorld. Its features meet my needs. Most importantly, the customer support is great. The developer is highly responsive. The only reason, I have given 4 starts in ease of use is that I have not tried some of the features (video streams from multiple students, equation editor, drawing angles on the screen) and I don't know whether they will be easy or tricky. What I value most about the product, other than its functionality, is that I never get the feeling that I am stuck or helpless. The developer has always been there to help or to answer questions.
