I believe that it will really elevate our event, and love that our volunteers were able to set it up without countless work. Pros The app was in our budget, and very user-friendly for us to set up. We are an all-volunteer organization, so this is a fabulous addition to make our conference professional and relevant to attendees. It is so much easier to manage than using a free platform like Band, as we have tried in the past. Cons Having never used an app, there was a small learning curve to figure out how to import, but it was manageable. January 29, 2026 4.0 Very good, I had to set up in 3 days due to another platforms inability to follow through on some features. The customer service is PHENOMENAL and having the ability to receive answers from a real person is refreshing!! Pros If you want to quickly set an app with resources, and schedules this is PERFECT. The conference attendees were happy to have a maps and locations as the event location had a confusing layout. There was a little onboarding curve but they will be set for next year and I can also include the links created by Yapp to send to attendees in advance so they can download and peruse before the conference. Cons The design is a little outdated and the spreadsheet to upload information was a bit confusing with all the added columns. The process of adding attendee's photos seems arduous - but I am hoping that there is a good workaround that I just didn't have time to explore based on how quickly I had to set up. You have to be able to access your email (that you registered with) on your phone to download the app, it send you a confirmation number and the list goes on. The issue for me was the hybrid piece, which was known from the moment I signed up with the salesmans but MORE IMPORTANTLY, my attendees do not all bring their work phones with them OR cannot access their work emails from their personal phones so that entire process is super difficult to navigate. Cons Not a lot of analytics or the ability to prioritize sponsors based on their contribution levels, but not a major hindrance for our convention. With a tight nonprofit event budget, every dollar we spend on technology like this is a dollar we aren't spending on other important event aspects that add value to our participating and at-need community members. Yapp helped us add and create value at our event. Cons I wish that attendees had the ability to communicate directly with each other. The social feed was fun and valuable but our events would really benefit from people being able to send direct messages or create chat groups. If we use a different app in the future, it will likely be in order to leverage this feature. We’ve tried complex platforms before, and staff spent too much time helping attendees download and navigate. Not with Yapp, we share a QR code, and attendees download and get started immediately. As we go paperless, having an app as intuitive as a paper agenda is exactly what we needed. Pros Its easy to build each of my meetings (5 per year) and its easy for my attendees to gain access to the app and navigate the agenda. Cons You might have already this feature and we're just not aware, but sponsors would like a lead generator option. As an admin, I wish we could make changes on the app. I won't have my laptop with me all the time and I would like to change items as needed. (Maybe someone's name is misspelled, or we need to add info to a bio.) Pros Overall, Yapp is an easy-to-use app. I like that it is user-friendly and doesn't require a big learning curve. It has the tools needed to promote our event, which is exactly what we need. I like how we can showcase our agenda and let attendees know in advance what to expect at our conference. Cons I had trouble loading logos to our agenda page. I wanted to add sponsor logos under the description and had trouble on a few. It would help to indicate what format they should be in and have a way to edit the logo size. I also noticed that when I wanted to edit a few pages, there were banners across the wording I needed (for example, the date of my event was always over the word "edit") Some of the information we added didn't always save. Not as fancy or feature rich as other platforms, but by far the most affordable. Simple and effective. Pros It is a very easy solution to use and accomplishes the desire of having a conference "app". Worth the money and can be used simply for data distribution and communication, or you can use more advanced features if desired. Compared to all the other enterprise systems out there, this is the only one that is anywhere affordable for a non-profit event. Cons A little more customization on the app pages designed for just content display would be nice, but the more custom you can get the more complex it gets. A few more built-in themes or styles for the app structure/layout would be nice, but again, keeping it simple can actually be a blessing. More dynamic linking of data would be helpful (being able to create instances of items and then link to it throughout the app rather than having to recreate the data on different pages). Pros This program was easy to use and really liked that on each page you add to the right side it gives an example of how that page is used. Cons It would be nice if under the schedule, when you list a speaker that either there was a more button or something to indicate click here so you can see their contact, and bio. The way it shows now unless you accidentally clicked on it you wouldn't know. Another feature, I would pay for, would be to have the ability to pin room locations under the schedule to a map. They always answer very quickly and get back to you with answers to any questions you have (or problems you encounter while editing your app). Shoutout to \[sensitive content hidden\] at Yapp for all his wonderful help! The user experience was also great. I was easily able to build my app by adding specific features. Yapp also has a help center where you can look up how to complete something (EX: how to upload attendees, overall tips & tricks, etc.) Pros Ease of use. Yapp has templated pages to use in the app so you do not have to build anything from scratch. (EX: polls, schedule, agenda, etc.). Additionally, any time you have a change to make to your app, it is completed in real-time and after "publishing" your changes, attendees who downloaded your app will see these new changes the next time they view the app. Cons Reporting features are good (EX: app usage, engagement stats) but I feel like a little more can be done here so administrators can dive deeper into the data to analyze. " October 28, 2025 4.0 Copying previous year's conference app to current year and updating as needed. Uploading handouts from the conference, photos of speakers & special guests, creating announcements to be released throughout the conference. Pros Yapp has a very user friendly interface. It was easier than I thought it would be to dive right in and create the app for our conference. Cons The carry-over of attendees from a previous year's version of the app to the current one caused some issues. Customer service confirmed that, for our purposes, asking them to delete the prior year's attendee list when setting up a new year's conference app would solve the issues I was having. I also didn't like that the only way you could see, add, or schedule announcements was through the app. I would have liked to be able to schedule those at my computer instead. August 30, 2022 5.0 First of all the Yapp customer service is 2nd to none.....period. Between the online tutorials and the live chat, the experience has been phenomenal. Any time I've sent a request to get a question answered, I've either gotten an immediate response or less than 30 minutes. I run a buying group and have 10 member companies. Yapp has been so well received that I believe 5 of them started using Yapp after our first experience in 2019. I can't emphasize enough what a fantastic product this is and simple to use for any skill level! Pros I am not the most tech savvy person being a Boomer who didn't grow up with a computer. I was amazed at how quickly I was able to navigate my way through creating my first app in 2019. It is very intuitive. For the past 4 years and creating multiple apps, there has been nothing that I wanted to create in an app, that I haven't been able to figure out. I love this product! Cons There really isn't a "like least" feature of this app. My only suggestion to make it just a little easier in some instances, would be to be able to clone a page within the app or to copy and paste a page from a previous app into a new app. My apps are very similar for each event so I start by cloning the previous app, which is very helpful. Cloning a page or cut and paste a page from previous apps would make it that much easier. Reason for choosing Yapp Other options were far too expensive. Initially I thought it would be more cumbersome for users to download Yapp and then have to go there every time to open my app. I could not have been more wrong. April 20, 2023 5.0 The directions for app set-up were very clear and covered most of our needs. We were able to get quick answers when needed from the chat support. The app made it much easier for attendees to choose and find the activities they wanted to participate in. We didn't know what to expect, since this was our first year using an app, but we were surprised and thrilled that almost half of our attendees/staff downloaded the app. It was well worth the time and money we invested and we will definitely use Yapp for our next event. Pros It took much less time than I expected to transfer the information from our web site to our new Yapp App. The clear directions and page templates made it easy to set up. Attendees loved the easy access on their phones, and used the app mostly to check our schedule of activities. Yapp allows the end user to create their own personal schedule. People also checked out vendor, presenter, and performer details on the app, and used the maps to find classrooms and vendor booths. Event management also found themselves referring to the app throughout the weekend. Cons I would like to have our own event icon on the user's home screen instead of the Yapp icon. We also found the "personal schedule" icon in the app was difficult to find, but once you found it was tremendously helpful. This was our first year using an app, and we would like to explore more of the announcement and social media features at our next event. Since day one, the staff at Yapp App has been very supportive and very quick to respond to any of the questions I had in terms of using the app and the features it provided. The chat feature they have is great and they respond to you quite quickly. Also, it is very cost-effective for what you get and you can choose to add additional apps if you decide you need more. I also like that once you retire an app, you have the ability to archive it. Pros This app has allowed me to seamlessly communicate with the attendees of our annual leadership summit. It was easy to learn how to use this app. There is no coding involved and each section can be customized to your liking. You can load schedules, bios, pictures, PDF, videos, etc. It also has instant messaging that allows you to quickly push out notifications. I love that you can create your content and when you are ready, you can simply push the publish button. We have also used it for other teams as well not just for our leadership summit. Cons I wish you could add a registration feature to the app with the ability to cap the attendees at a certain number for each workshop being offered. Possibly pushing this feature out first, before the entire contents of the app are populated. Your apps can feature -discussion boards -picture walls (perfect for Selfie stations) -Twitter feed monitoring -Conference/event scheduling -A place to house your documents and maps (awesome for conference portability) -A customization engine that cements the professionalism of your organization Pros YAPP features an easy and intuitive user interface for creating a professional-looking mobile app which has TONS of functionality. I have been using the service for years, and have built multiple conference apps with it, all for public education, curriculum, instruction and leadership. If you look around at conferences, just about everyone will have their faces buried in their phones, tablets or laptops. You might as well capture their "digital attention" with your content. I love the YAPP message boards, picture walls, Twitter feeds, and, as an event organizer, the ability to set up session information and schedules. If your users log into the system, they can also build customized itineraries of breakout sessions to attend as well as their locations, streamlining end-user access to your conference sessions. On the back end, the customer service with YAPP is amazing. they have always had my back if I need their help. Sure, the platform subscription is expensive up front, but that plan will service most organizations that don't have the resources to custom-sourced their own mobile app from the ground up. Further, you can build UNLIMITED apps with an unlimited user pool. Cons Entering the conference session data can be tedious, and there is really no way around this. However, if you use a spreadsheet to build your initial conference schedule layout, session description, location, and other pertinent data-- you can then use that spreadsheet to import your sessions with direct mapping. This saves you a big step when it comes to conference design, but it only works if you begin with the end product in mind and make that spreadsheet from the origins of the conference planning stages. Educational Media Coordinator Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Yapp App Review" August 14, 2023 5.0 The benefits of using Yapp with yearly events/conferences allows participants to stay up to date on what is happening throughout the event/conference and plan their time to get maximum benefit from the experience. Pros I like the ease of being able to create a schedule in Microsoft Excel and then upload to the Yapp editor. This feature is easy to implement and by far what makes using Yapp for events/conferences stand out for me and my organization. Cons I honestly cannot find anything that I do not like about Yapp. I have been using it for 3 events in my organization for many years, and it always preforms well.
