I believe that it will really elevate our event, and love that our volunteers were able to set it up without countless work. Pros The app was in our budget, and very user-friendly for us to set up. We are an all-volunteer organization, so this is a fabulous addition to make our conference professional and relevant to attendees. It is so much easier to manage than using a free platform like Band, as we have tried in the past. Cons Having never used an app, there was a small learning curve to figure out how to import, but it was manageable. Cons Not a lot of analytics or the ability to prioritize sponsors based on their contribution levels, but not a major hindrance for our convention. January 29, 2026 4.0 Very good, I had to set up in 3 days due to another platforms inability to follow through on some features. The customer service is PHENOMENAL and having the ability to receive answers from a real person is refreshing!! Pros If you want to quickly set an app with resources, and schedules this is PERFECT. The conference attendees were happy to have a maps and locations as the event location had a confusing layout. There was a little onboarding curve but they will be set for next year and I can also include the links created by Yapp to send to attendees in advance so they can download and peruse before the conference. Cons The design is a little outdated and the spreadsheet to upload information was a bit confusing with all the added columns. The process of adding attendee's photos seems arduous - but I am hoping that there is a good workaround that I just didn't have time to explore based on how quickly I had to set up. You have to be able to access your email (that you registered with) on your phone to download the app, it send you a confirmation number and the list goes on. The issue for me was the hybrid piece, which was known from the moment I signed up with the salesmans but MORE IMPORTANTLY, my attendees do not all bring their work phones with them OR cannot access their work emails from their personal phones so that entire process is super difficult to navigate. With a tight nonprofit event budget, every dollar we spend on technology like this is a dollar we aren't spending on other important event aspects that add value to our participating and at-need community members. Yapp helped us add and create value at our event. Cons I wish that attendees had the ability to communicate directly with each other. The social feed was fun and valuable but our events would really benefit from people being able to send direct messages or create chat groups. If we use a different app in the future, it will likely be in order to leverage this feature. We've used it for 4-5 years now for our events and it's really been worth the money to all all event or trip info in one easy accessible location on your mobile app. The customer service has been great and the response time is within hours or a day. Pros Yapp mobile app is user friendly for the staff setting it up, efficient use of staff time, and helps manage info for your group at an event. I like that participant information can be uploaded all at once via CSV files, time saver! Cons We have to purchase a certain amount of apps in order to get the discount. We do not ever use all the apps but its cheaper to purchase the higher package. Maybe come up with a mid price discount or a discount for loyal customers? But this is a pricing suggestion, not a "like least" about software features. If we need to see a leader face or get their contact info, we can quickly look it up on the app. Other colleagues can use it as well, not just my department. It was easier than I thought it would be to dive right in and create the app for our conference. Cons The carry-over of attendees from a previous year's version of the app to the current one caused some issues. Customer service confirmed that, for our purposes, asking them to delete the prior year's attendee list when setting up a new year's conference app would solve the issues I was having. I also didn't like that the only way you could see, add, or schedule announcements was through the app. I would have liked to be able to schedule those at my computer instead. June 26, 2023 5.0 Fantastic. Love it and look forward to renewing! Pros I've worked on custom apps and customizable out of the box apps before that were monumentally more expensive and they paled in comparison to the ease of use and functionality that we found in the Yapp apps. We also had far more engagement with this app than our previous apps. My favorite thing is how you can design "pages" and move them around when you want to highlight one over another. Not being constrained to a traditional model where the developer chooses what they think is the way the app should be designed was really great for us. Cons I would like to see the social feeds brought back and expanded. When we signed on, Twitter was still being fed into the app, which would have been cool to see. We didn't think our attendee base would be on board with logging in to be able to share their social posts, but the ability to see our feeds would be really nice -- plus adding our feeds from Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram would have been an added bonus. Reason for choosing Yapp Cost was a huge factor for us. January 5, 2023 5.0 We have used Yapp for several Conferences and user feedback is always very positive. Building the App and Admin is straight forward. Pros Ability to limit distribution to a list of users is a deal breaker for us. From an Admin perspective it is very easy to build, deploy and update Apps. The ability to import schedules, speakers, etc. from a CSV file is time saving and helpful. Cons So far, we have used Yapp exclusively for Conferences. While the App is great, the pricing model is unhelpful. On average, we build an App and use it for maybe 2 months (pre, during and post conference). However, we can't build a new app for the next conference within the same year without purchasing an additional App even though we are no longer using the App for the past conference. For us, it would be hugely useful if there were an option to license by Active Apps, i.e. be able to reuse the license when an App is archived, and/or have a monthly license. Would love to see some integrations with CRM, forms, etc. Reason for choosing Yapp I don't exactly remember but factors certainly included: 1) security, the ability to restrict access to a list of users, 2) unlimited users, i.e. not licensed per user, 3) real time updates to the App pushed to users, i.e. without reinstalling the App, 4) offline access to the App and likely more great features. October 20, 2022 5.0 Yapp is an incredible little application which has enhances our ability to communication and organize internal events. We use it internally for conferences with up to 2,000 participants where the individual schedule of events for each participant are published as part of their profile. As changes occur due to cancellations, or on the ground logistical challenges, these can be updated quickly keeping everyone organized.OUTSTANDING Support! As other reviewers have said, the support from Yapp is second to none. We push the limits but any time we have a question or concern, the quality and timing of the response has always exceeded our expectations. Pros •Simple enough for non-technical staff to setup•Ease of deployment•Users love the social elements•Ability to publish individual agendas (creativity required) Cons While there are always opportunities for improvement or enhanced functionality, it's hard to find fault with anything in Yapp.While not a 'con' it would be nice to have couple of additional features:•Ability to add pages in other languages and add a language tag to people. Pros When we needed to look like "the bigs guys" on a budget, we searched for cost-effective yet powerful app purveyors. Yapp was suggested to me by a web developer as a cost-effective way to promote a conference for a client. From speaker bios, to multi-track event scheduling, and pushing announcements, Yapp delivered the goods and had great customer service. This expanded into a few human resources apps as well. Cons The one thing I would like is to have more design control -- multiple branding colors available for different items. Pros The Yapp was very easy to build and made it easy for our attendees to have access to the most up-to-date information for our event, as well as having complete access to our Sponsors, Speakers and Exhibitors information and materials all in one place! Was a very plug and play software!
