### "Apify for mainly lead generation"

June 30, 2026

4.0

Good, it took me a bit of work to first let the AI know how to work with it on: mcp api token how to use different actors and how to use them considering my specific case... But once everything is properly set up, really happy with it

Pros

Value for money, way better than apollo, also, i found it more flexible. A big varieta of actors, for different purposes, but also, a big variety for the same purpose. I mainly used it for lead generation

Cons

It took a bit to set it up for the AI agents i use (antigravity and claude code), but once done, you can use plain english in order to describe what you want and they alongside apify will get you results while you wait.

### "Thousands of verified places per run, no scraper to build"

June 25, 2026

5.0

As a solo founder, Apify removed the single biggest technical blocker in building my product: getting real, verified restaurant data at scale instead of the invented places generic AI tools produce. Rather than hiring a data engineer or maintaining my own scrapers, I run a proven Actor per city and get thousands of structured venues back in an afternoon. It has built verified catalogues for nine cities at a modest cost. Keep an eye on usage billing and vet each Actor, and it is an excellent tool.

Pros

The ready-made Actors are the standout. The Google Maps Actor pulled thousands of verified venues per run (some of mine returned over 5,000 places), with proxies and anti-blocking handled for me, so I never had to build or maintain a scraper. The output is clean, consistently structured data that drops straight into my pipeline, and the console makes launching, monitoring and exporting a run straightforward once you know it. Value for money has been excellent: a modest pay-as-you-go spend produced verified catalogues for nine cities. Every run I launched completed successfully, so it has been reliable too.

Cons

Two things. First, usage-based billing needs active watching: costs can climb on big runs, the spend controls are not front and center, and I would prefer a clear cost estimate before a run and spend limits on by default. Second, Actor quality varies across the marketplace, some are excellent while others break when the target site changes or differ from their documentation, so you need to vet an Actor before relying on it. The first-run setup, configuring inputs and proxy options, also took some trial and error. I never needed customer support, so I cannot speak to it.

### "Good for extraction but customer support is pathetic"

May 6, 2022

3.0

Overall good platform for data extraction but customer support is pathetic even when you are paid subscriber

Pros

\- Powerful data extraction - Scalable infrastructure - Scheduling & feature rich

Cons

\- Customer support is worst nightmare with them - Pricing is unfair (They even don't have clarification on how you billed certain amount) - It has bugs which are lasting months even after reporting. Actor gets stuck forever causing you billing - Reporting is not integrated part of dashboard

### "A Core Part of My Data Pipeline"

April 18, 2026

4.0

Overall, Apify has become a core part of how I run my wholesale real estate business. It replaced expensive list services and days of manual research with automated, on-demand data pulls that feed directly into my acquisition pipeline. The platform isn't the most beginner-friendly out of the box, but once past the initial ramp-up it runs reliably and delivers real ROI. For anyone who needs recurring structured data without a full dev team, it's a strong choice.

Pros

The pre-built Actor library is the standout feature — it covers most of the sites I target without needing to build anything from scratch. Pair that with reliable scheduling, seamless data exports, and genuinely useful documentation, and it's a platform that earns its place in my workflow. The time and cost savings compared to manual research or third-party list services have been significant.

Cons

The learning curve is real. Understanding compute units, decoding actor-specific pricing structures, and knowing which Actor to use for a given job all take more time than they should. The dashboard also feels cluttered and a bit redundant when you're managing multiple scrapers simultaneously. A cleaner UI would up my overall score.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Apify

The Actor library in Apify is comprehensive. It meets my current needs and looks to be sufficient for expansion down the road.

### "Great Platform for Building and Managing Automation Workflows"

May 31, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with Apify has been positive. I started using it while participating in the Apify $1M Challenge and used it to build and publish automation Actors. The platform helped me collect information, automate repetitive tasks, and experiment with automation workflows without managing my own infrastructure. The user interface was easy to navigate after the initial learning phase, and the platform offered good value by combining deployment, monitoring, storage, and scheduling capabilities in one service. Customer support was responsive when I experienced verification issues, and the team stayed engaged until the matter was resolved. While there are areas that could be improved, particularly around onboarding and verification, I found the platform reliable, useful, and well suited for developers working on automation and data collection projects. Although lead generation was not my primary use case, I can see how the data collection and automation capabilities could support lead generation workflows for businesses.

Pros

What I liked most about Apify was the combination of flexibility and ease of use. The user interface made it simple to deploy Actors, monitor runs, and review logs without needing multiple tools. The platform also provides good value for money by handling hosting, scheduling, storage, and execution in one place. I primarily used it for automation and information collection projects, and it significantly reduced the amount of time required to manage infrastructure. I also found the platform reliable for my use cases, with very few operational issues during normal usage.

Cons

The biggest issue I encountered was with the identity verification and payout process. The automated system repeatedly rejected valid documents and did not provide enough information about why they were being rejected, making troubleshooting difficult. There is also a learning curve for new users, particularly when first understanding concepts such as Actors, datasets, and deployments. While customer support was helpful, I believe the onboarding experience and verification workflow could be improved to reduce confusion and potential issues.

### "Powerful and Scalable Web Scraping Platform for Automation"

June 30, 2026

4.0

Overall, I’ve had a very positive experience with Apify. It has helped automate repetitive web data collection tasks, especially for competitor ad monitoring and market research, saving hours of manual work while providing reliable, scheduled data. It’s an excellent platform for developers and teams building production-grade scraping workflows.

Pros

Apify makes large-scale web scraping simple with its cloud execution, scheduling, proxy management, and extensive Actor ecosystem. It’s highly scalable, reliable, and has significantly reduced the time spent on competitor research and data collection.

Cons

The learning curve is steep for beginners, and debugging failed Actors can be time-consuming. The Actor Store could also benefit from better discovery, quality ratings, and comparison features.

### "Automation That Truly Enhances Productivity"

June 25, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Apify has been very positive. It’s a reliable platform that makes large‑scale data collection and automation much easier than managing custom scripts or infrastructure. Once workflows are set up, they run consistently in the background and save a significant amount of manual effort. The platform handles complex, dynamic websites well and delivers clean, structured data that integrates smoothly into our analysis and reporting processes. While there’s a learning curve for some technical aspects, the overall value, stability, and time savings make Apify a strong asset in my workflow.

Pros

I liked that Apify reliably automates complex data‑collection tasks and scales without needing extra infrastructure. It handles dynamic websites well, delivers clean structured data, and makes it easy to schedule recurring workflows. Once set up, it runs consistently in the background and saves a significant amount of manual effort.

Cons

I liked least that some parts of Apify still feel too technical, especially when configuring actors or troubleshooting errors. The interface can be confusing for non‑technical users, and certain inputs or error messages aren’t always intuitive. This sometimes makes simple tasks take longer than expected.

### "The most practical scraping platform for freelance automation and lead generation"

April 26, 2026

5.0

Apify has become the backbone of my lead generation workflow as a freelance automation specialist. It reduced my lead research time by around 80 percent and allows me to deliver fully enriched, CRM-ready prospect lists to clients the same day I receive a brief. The integration with n8n makes it a perfect fit for end-to-end automated pipelines. Despite the pricing concerns on large jobs, it remains the most practical and time-efficient scraping platform I have used.

Pros

The prebuilt Actor library is the biggest strength. I can scrape Google Maps, LinkedIn, and dozens of other platforms within minutes using ready-made Actors without writing any custom scraping code. The API and webhook integration with n8n is seamless and reliable — scraped data flows automatically into my automation pipelines the moment a job completes. The scheduling feature is rock solid and keeps lead databases fresh without any manual intervention.

Cons

Compute unit pricing can escalate quickly on high-volume scraping jobs, which makes it necessary to factor Apify costs into every client project quote. Some prebuilt Actors break silently when target websites update their layout, and the error logs during failed runs are too technical and vague to debug quickly without deep platform knowledge.

### "Apify Became the Backbone of Our Automation Stack"

May 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Apify has been very positive. It significantly simplifies web scraping and automation by handling infrastructure concerns like scaling, proxies, scheduling, and reliability out of the box. It has helped us move faster, reduce maintenance overhead, and run more stable data pipelines in production. While there are a few areas that could be improved, especially around large-scale workflow management and advanced analytics, the platform overall delivers strong value and has become a key part of our data automation stack.

Pros

The thing I like most about Apify is how much it simplifies the entire web scraping lifecycle. It removes the need to manage infrastructure like proxies, scaling, scheduling, and reliability, which makes it much faster to build and run production-grade scrapers. It’s also very developer-friendly - creating, deploying, and iterating on actors is straightforward, and the platform is stable enough to trust for ongoing data pipelines. Overall, it just makes web automation significantly less painful and much more scalable.

Cons

The dashboard can become a bit cluttered when managing many actors and runs at scale. Some advanced monitoring and analytics features could also be more detailed, especially for debugging large production workflows.

### "Essential scraping layer that makes a small-team data product viable"

April 21, 2026

5.0

We run akce.tech, a Czech dance music event aggregator pulling from 16+ sources. Apify powers roughly half of those — the hardest half: Facebook, Instagram, Resident Advisor, and automated source discovery via Google Search. Everything runs in a single daily cron batch feeding into Claude for AI extraction, then MariaDB and Elasticsearch. Without Apify, this project would either not exist or be a full-time job maintaining fragile scrapers. Productivity impact is enormous — we're a small team and Apify lets us focus on what's differentiated (AI extraction, search UX) instead of fighting UI changes from Meta every week. Value for money is excellent at our scale; user interface and Console visibility are solid for debugging and monitoring runs. Minor friction around actor discovery and schema consistency, but these are growing-pains issues, not fundamental flaws

Pros

\- Managed scrapers for hostile targets — Facebook Events, Instagram Posts, and Website Content Crawler (for Cloudflare-protected sites like Resident Advisor) absorb maintenance we'd never manage ourselves. - Pay-per-use pricing — fair and predictable for a small-team daily-batch workload; no idle cost. - Ready-made actor store — new data sources go from idea to running pipeline in hours. - Clean API and SDK — scheduled runs, dataset exports, and webhook integration all "just work." - Solid output quality — structured JSON drops straight into our Claude extraction pipeline without glue code.

Cons

\- Actor discovery is noisy — multiple overlapping actors per platform with weak trust signals (official vs. community, last-updated, production readiness). - Output schemas vary between similar actors — switching an actor means rewriting normalization code. - Cost predictability for long crawls — a dry-run cost estimator would help budgeting. - Partial-failure transparency — when an actor returns fewer items than expected, it's not always clear whether the source had fewer results or something silently broke.

### "A critical platform for scaling data operations and custom APIs"

April 8, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been outstanding. Apify plays a central role in making my operation happen efficiently and at scale. It reduced manual work dramatically, improved the reliability of our data pipelines, and gave us the flexibility to build custom services and APIs directly on top of the platform. The combination of automation, infrastructure, scheduling, monitoring, and custom deployment capabilities makes it much more than just a scraping tool—it’s become an operational backbone for our business.

Pros

The biggest advantage of Apify is how easy it makes it to build, automate, scale, and deploy data workflows in production. It has become a critical part of my operation because it allows me to automate large-scale data collection, lead generation, monitoring, and internal integrations with exceptional reliability. What stands out the most is the flexibility of the platform. Beyond using existing actors, I can host my own APIs and custom services directly on Apify, which makes it much easier to centralize business logic and keep my entire stack running in one scalable environment. The infrastructure is highly reliable, security feels solid, deployments are simple, and the UI makes managing tasks, runs, schedules, and logs very straightforward. For the amount of engineering time it saves, the value for money is excellent.

Cons

Honestly, there is very little to dislike. If I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be making some advanced configuration and debugging workflows slightly more intuitive for new users. While the platform is extremely powerful, beginners may need a short learning curve to fully unlock its potential. That said, once the workflows are in place, the stability and scalability more than make up for it.

### "The data layer that makes my AI agents actually work"

June 5, 2026

5.0

Honestly it became a core part of how I build AI automation systems. Before Apify, data collection was a bottleneck that blocked everything downstream. Now it just runs quietly in the background and the rest of the pipeline does its job. It's not glamorous infrastructure but it's reliable, and reliable is exactly what you need when a client-facing system depends on it. Would recommend to any developer building serious automation workflows that depend on external data.

Pros

The Actor Store is what sold me. I needed Instagram data flowing into my AI agent pipeline and instead of spending weeks building a scraper from scratch, I found an Actor, configured it in about 20 minutes, and the data was already landing clean in Supabase. For a solo developer running multiple projects at the same time, that kind of shortcut is everything. The cloud infrastructure also means I don't babysit scripts overnight. It runs on schedule, delivers structured output, and I focus on what actually matters: the intelligence layer on top of the data.

Cons

The pricing model takes a while to fully understand. There are two layers, platform credits and per-Actor costs on top of that, and when you're starting out it's not obvious how fast things can add up depending on which Actor you're using. I had a couple of runs that burned through credits faster than expected. A clearer cost estimator before hitting run would save a lot of headaches. Debugging failed runs also takes more digging than it should when something breaks mid-pipeline.v

### "Powerful, Scalable, and Excellent Value"

November 10, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Apify has been fantastic. It's a robust and reliable tool that does exactly what it promises. The user interface is straightforward, and on the occasions I've needed help, their support has been excellent—they get back to you quickly and are very helpful in resolving any issues. It has become an essential part of my toolkit for data extraction and automation. While it may seem complex at first, the power it gives you is more than worth the initial learning. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to scrape web data at any scale.

Pros

Apify is an incredibly powerful and flexible platform that delivers outstanding value. What I liked most is the vast library of pre-built "Actors," which saved me a massive amount of development time. I was able to start scraping complex websites in minutes instead of days. The platform is highly scalable, works reliably, and its integrations, especially with tools like Make/n8n and Google Sheets, make it easy to build automated workflows. The free tier is also very generous, allowing you to accomplish a lot before needing to upgrade. For the capabilities it provides, the value for money is exceptional.

Cons

The only real downside is that the pricing model can be a bit confusing at first, especially when calculating the costs of proxies and compute units. While using the pre-built Actors is straightforward, there can be a steep learning curve if you want to build or modify your own custom scrapers, particularly for users who aren't developers.

### ""Reliable, hands-off scraping that plugs straight into your reporting stack — just watch the cost""

June 11, 2026

5.0

Overall, a strong and dependable experience. Apify solved a real gap for me at Pin Wei — capturing external customer sentiment and competitor data that my internal iPOS pipeline couldn't see — and feeding it into one weekly reporting view in Looker Studio. After an initial ramp-up on the platform's concepts, it became a low-maintenance, high-leverage part of my workflow. It saves hours of manual data collection each week and makes our reporting more evidence-based. The main thing I actively manage is cost; everything else largely runs itself. A solid 8/10.

Pros

The reliability on hard-to-scrape targets and how cleanly it integrates into an existing stack. Google Maps and Foody are JavaScript-heavy and block scraping aggressively, but Apify's headless browsers and managed proxies handle that out of the box — no babysitting required. The clean JSON/CSV output plugs straight into my Make → Google Sheets → Looker Studio pipeline via webhook, so external data lands in the right schema with zero manual cleanup. For a one-person data function, that "set the schedule and it just runs" reliability is the biggest win.

Cons

Cost predictability. The compute-unit pricing can creep up if scraping volume isn't actively monitored, which makes budgeting harder for a small team. Secondary to that is the fragility of community-maintained Actors — when a platform changes its page structure, third-party Actors break and I'm left waiting on a fix or debugging someone else's code. The learning curve around core concepts (Actors, datasets, key-value stores) is also steeper than ideal for non-developers.

Apify has been a reliable platform for competitor monitoring, trend research, and automated data collection. It has saved a significant amount of manual work and fits well into our reporting and analysis workflows.

Pros

Very easy to automate large scale social media and web data collection without needing to build custom scraping systems from scratch. The Apify Store has a great range of ready made Actors which saves a lot of setup time.

Cons

Some Actors occasionally stop working properly when websites update their layouts or anti bot systems, so small adjustments are sometimes needed.

### "Amazing experience with Apify"

April 14, 2026

5.0

I have had an amazing experience using Apify for my data projects. It is hands down the most reliable platform I have found for web scraping and automation. The pre built actors save me so much time and the cloud infrastructure is rock solid. I was able to get my first task running in minutes without any major hiccups. Its definitely a game changer for anyone who needs clean data at scale. Highly recomend it to anyone looking to automate their manual workflows!

Pros

It had been an amazing experience using Apify. Nothing had been any easier to scrape information before. The credits are also generously deducted and the base tier would mostly fulfill all your daily requirements. It is super easy to set up and there is a huge library of scrapers created by many individuals that you can simply use. Highly recommended.

Cons

The only real downside for me is that the pricing tiers can jump up a bit fast if you start scaling many actors at once. Also some of the more niche scrapers have a slight learning curve if you aren't familiar with their documentation but honestly their support team is so quick to help that it hardly matters in the end.

Apify has been a reliable and scalable solution for our web data extraction needs. It integrates cleanly with cloud services, supports automation well, and offers strong visibility into runs and outputs. The learning curve is reasonable, and once set up, workflows are stable and easy to maintain. We use it as part of a production data pipeline and are happy with the results.

Pros

### "test show pre"

June 19, 2026

5.0

Pros

like that Apify feels like a practical automation marketplace, not just a scraping tool. It already has ready-made Actors, so I do not need to build every parser from zero. I also like that it can connect web scraping, lead generation, data extraction, monitoring, and scheduled runs in one place. For my projects, the strongest part is that Apify can become a research and data engine: checking websites, marketplaces, trends, competitors, listings, and public signals automatically. MCP connectors also make the platform more interesting because Actors can potentially interact with other tools, not only scrape open web pages.

Cons

What I liked least is that Apify can become expensive or unclear if the workflow is not controlled properly. Many Actors look simple, but real costs depend on usage, proxies, compute time, retries, and data volume. Another weak point is that not every Actor is equally reliable; some are maintained well, while others may break when websites change. For serious business use, I would still need logs, validation, source proof, anti-hallucination checks, and clear cost limits before running big tasks. So Apify is powerful, but it needs a strong control layer around it.

### "Efficient scraping platform that reduces maintenance and speeds up data workflows"

May 3, 2026

5.0

Overall, Apify is a reliable and practical platform for web scraping and automation. It significantly reduces the effort needed to build and maintain scrapers, especially with its prebuilt actors and managed infrastructure. It works well for production use cases where you need stable, repeatable data collection. The main trade-offs are some complexity when building advanced custom actors and less predictable costs at higher scale. In general, it improved our workflow by making data extraction faster and easier to operate long term.

Pros

Fast setup using prebuilt actors Handles proxies, scaling, and scheduling out of the box Reduces maintenance of custom scrapers Works well for large-scale data collection Easy to integrate into existing pipelines

Cons

Steep Learning Curve for Custom Actors: Building complex, bespoke scrapers requires solid coding knowledge. Pricing Can Explode Quickly: Memory consumption and proxy usage costs can accumulate rapidly on large-scale runs. Platform-Dependent Breaking: If a target website updates its UI, the corresponding Actor breaks until updated. Complex Documentation: While detailed, the sheer volume of documentation can be overwhelming for beginners. UI Clutter: The cloud console has so many features that navigating it feels a bit cluttered initially. Credit Burn on Failed Runs: If a custom script loops or fails, it still consumes your paid computing credits.

Pros

Massive Store of Ready-Made Actors: The Apify Store offers hundreds of pre-built scrapers for popular platforms (Instagram, Google Maps, TikTok). No-Code Friendly yet Developer-First: It perfectly bridges the gap between non-technical users and hardcore developers. Flawless Residential Proxy Integration: The built-in proxy rotation seamlessly bypasses strict anti-scraping mechanisms and CAPTCHAs. Serverless Infrastructure: You don't have to worry about provisioning servers; the platform scales your tasks automatically. Comprehensive API and Webhooks: Integrating scraping workflows into existing CRM or database pipelines is incredibly straightforward. Robust Dataset Exporting: Data can be downloaded instantly in clean JSON, CSV, Excel, or XML formats. Excellent JavaScript/Python SDKs: Writing custom scrapers using Crawlee is highly efficient and well-documented. Great Free Tier: The generous monthly cloud credits allow for thorough testing before committing financially.

### "From zero to clean data in hours, not weeks"

5.0

Pros

The pre-built Actor marketplace means we can go from "we need leads in a new vertical" to a clean, usable list within hours rather than days. No scraper development, no proxy setup, no maintenance overhead. The SDK and API integrate cleanly into our Python automation pipelines. Triggering Actors programmatically, polling for results, and pulling structured data all work predictably, which is essential when scraping is one step in a larger workflow.

Cons

Estimating the cost of a new Actor run before executing it is largely guesswork. A dry-run mode or clearer upfront cost forecasting would save a lot of trial and error. Some community-built Actors are excellent, but others are abandoned or silently broken. Better visibility into maintenance status, success rates, and recent issues would help avoid wasted runs.

### "Leads, Leads and more freaking leads"

My overall experience has been excellent. Apify has allowed me to scale data collection for my agency without worrying about maintaining a private proxy infrastructure. It is the most professional-grade scraping platform available.

Pros

Apify is an absolute powerhouse for web scraping and automation. What I like most is the sheer breadth of the Store; having access to pre-built Actors for Google Maps, Instagram, and LinkedIn saves me dozens of hours of custom development. The SDK is well-documented, making it easy to build custom scrapers when needed. The serverless infrastructure is robust, handling proxy management and browser scaling seamlessly. It’s a reliable backbone for anyone building data-driven products or AI-automation workflows.

Cons

The learning curve can be steep for non-developers. While the pre-built Actors are great, customizing them often requires a solid understanding of JavaScript or Python. Additionally, the pricing model can be a bit opaque for high-volume tasks. If you aren't careful with your Actor settings, you can burn through your compute units faster than expected. I’d love to see more granular alerts for budget management.
