Co-founder Entertainment Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great tool and probably the best workflow for translation out there" February 23, 2021 5.0 It really easy: You import a file, assign a translator and they start working right away in the browser. Some translator prefer to translate in a spreadsheet and that option is also available. They also have a feature for 100% match translation that is really helpful since many of our sentences can repeat from rulebook to rulebook. We have no access in our current plan but the Machine Learning translation is something that i would love to at least give a try. Unfortunately, we don't have the volume of work to justify upgrading to a higher plan. I'd also love to mention that the few times I needed support they were super responsive and I quickly got the answers to my questions. Pros Indesign integration. When we found Redokun it was a game changer. We publish board games and most of the files we receive are made in Indesign, before the process to translate rulebook and cards was tedious. Redokun make it easy to export, import into Redokun, translate (keeping a translation memory) and then we can download a new Indesign file with all the content in the right place, with character and paragraph styles. This was HUGE for us and we reduced the time to finish a document by at least 3-5 days. Cons We really love Redokun but being an earlier adopter of the tool we saw many plans and price change. This is natural for any growing tool and they did implement a lot of new features, but for a smaller company that is not 100% focus on translations the new plans can be a little tricky since it has way more value than we would need. March 16, 2021 5.0 The export to the InDesign application is pure genius! And with InDesign's new updates with self-adjusting fonts and margins, moving from letter size to A4 size pages is miraculous. That the point of a great application, right. This developer a \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] , stays current and adjusts Redokun continuously. Let me say a little something about responsiveness! I've worked as a compositor in page layout for three decades and have moved from Pagemaker to QuarkXpress to InDesign. I've gone to trade shows to pick up business cards to have direct access to developers for all the application I use — I have never had anyone more responsive than \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. That's what you need when your file corrupts always at the wrong time! Pros Redokun is an amazing tool. It’s a win-win to find an application that both translators and graphic artists can benefit from. And thank you Redokun, for continuing to develop this tool for greater efficiency. Cons Once we learned the 19 tips in optimizing our InDesign files, it has saved us a lot of time in layout. The web editor is simple and easy to use with the thumbnails, original English text and the translation text boxes. The learning curve to the overall software application is relatively short. Anyone can be “up and running” with Redokun in a few days. Brilliant! Reason for choosing Redokun It was a raffle item that I won at an Adobe User Group event in Los Angeles. Little did I know this was going Redokun would revolutionize my production of translated curriculum for Saddleback Church for the better. Review Source Alessio T. Pros It makes the company translation database available in real time. It allows me to align technical manuals in various languages in a few minutes, saving time and money in external translations. Marketing Manager Renewables & Environment Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Streamlined our documentation translation process" February 23, 2021 5.0 Thanks to Redokun we were able to greatly streamline our translation processes by: -reducing the translation time of recurring content -improving consistency and delivery time of new translations -involving more partners (with technical knowledge) in our translation processes This ultimately allowed us to localize our product documentation in more languages to the benefit of the end users of our products. Pros It has a very intuitive interface. This makes it easily deployables by new staff / translators that we involve in translation projects. It minimizes time and effort of translating recurring content and of reverting translations into the right layout (thanks to the integration with Indesign, software on which we rely heavily). It allowed us to leverage our existing translations and sector-specific terminology databases, gaining great consistency in new translations. It allowed us to involve partners with sound technical knowledge in the translation review process. Cons The software had no cons for us. The only effort was learning how to set up an Indesign document correctly for translation. This was quickly solved thanks to the rich Help & support section provided within the system and the excellent customer support. Review Source TF Thomas F. As a small team, we are able to work effectively with a network of translators in different countries worldwide. Also, as long as each publication is correctly set up in InDesign, the requirement for reformatting after translation is minimal. Pros Easy for translator to use and makes translation much faster. No reformatting of a complex publication after translation. Excellent support from Redokun staff. Lots of focussed help documents provided by Redokun. Cons Redokun is a very well thought through software. It provides all that you need for translating complex documents set up in InDesign. I can’t think of anything that I don’t like about the software. Reason for choosing Redokun There were no alternatives. It was helpful that Redokun provided a time limited (30 day) demonstration license. Review Source HF Harley F. Technical Author Machinery Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "5 Stars - A very useful piece of software" November 2, 2020 5.0 Overall, I would say that redokun is a great tool for translating InDesign documents while retaining the existing formatting. It is easy to use and the customer service is great. Pros Easy to use - Redokun is very easy to use, offering the ability to translate directly within the website or to export files which can be sent to a translation service and then imported. It also provides suggested translations based on previously translated documents which speeds up repetitive sections. The InDesign files are also easy to upload, they only need to be saved as a .idml file and Redokun will automatically find any text. Great customer service - The customer support is also brilliant, I had one issue which was my fault and it was sorted out very quickly. Accessible for everyone - With Redokun, InDesign documents can be translated by anyone. Not everyone has the ability to open InDesign documents which could make translation difficult. With Redokun, the translator can be given access to the document online and can complete the translation without having to pay for any Adobe software. This also means that the formatting will be preserved in the translated document and the author can rearrange any overset text as necessary. Coordinating the editing and the translation is pretty tough and Redokun has been helping me a lot. One last thing: I had expected an expense between € 15,000-20,000, with Redokun I spent less than € 2,000. Pros By my side: 90% savings in editing Very easy to use and flexible. My translators are appreciating mostly the possibility of working online or offline at their convenience. On my point of view I appreciate the possibility to check their progress in translating. Cons The original file must be done in a professional way, otherwise Redokun goes crazy.
