### "Great outliner and task tool"

October 18, 2022

5.0

I really-really like keyboard-first approach and power that it gives. As long-time user of Workflowy, I was significantly disappointed in its fresh features which just can't work with keyboard and you have to move your palm to the mouse. Here, it's never an issue, and it's great. Thank you guys kindly.

Pros

Some wise man told me once that if you have less than 400 items on your to-do, you can just go with lists and don't try anything more complicated. Yet, I'd like to work with lists in easy and convenient manner, using keyboard mostly, and for this purpose Checkvist fits in perfectly.

Cons

Not having mobile app is a kind of downside, but not a strong one.

### "THE fastest, easiest, most flexible task organization tool I've ever used"

September 25, 2022

5.0

I was able to organize writing my entire novel with Checkvist. It's superior to using Scrivener for tasks and outlines by far. (I do use Scrivener for actual writing, though.)

Pros

So easy to use -- especially for touch-typists. Everything's intuitive and keyboard-based so you never need to remove your hand to use a mouse/trackpad. I can use Checkvist -my- way, no matter what that means. I can change my organization system instantly. I can store anything on my lists, create linked lists, and format things the way I want, regardless of what that means to me. Sharing/access is simple to set up & use. It's very smart software, anticipating what I need when it's most useful.

Cons

There is nothing that I like "least" about Checkvist. The only pie-in-the-sky wishes I'd have would be to make it auto-resolve Google Docs filenames from links or link dated tasks to my Google Calendar. There have often been times I've craved a table view, but I wouldn't want it if it impairs my ability to stay keyboard-based.

Checkvist is so much faster than using any of these tools. You can also rearrange anything on-the-fly, and do it YOUR WAY. Even if you change your mind later!

### "Checkvist-Not Too Shabby"

May 2, 2021

4.0

A fine app that does a solid job of helping the user manage and sort day-to-day activities.

Pros

Nice littl piece of software for managing and prioritizing tasks for the day. A solid choice amongst the various apps of this nature.

Cons

No cons to report, the product on the whole was satisfactory.

### "Checkvist"

September 24, 2022

5.0

Checkvist makes it possible for me to track my tasks and projects, allows me to collect ideas and brainstorm, and it also gives me a workspace to outline and develop my talks and presentations.

Pros

Flexibility! It makes it possible to track tasks and projects in whatever way best fits your needs. It also provides an outstanding way to brainstorm and outline ideas.

Cons

It is very difficult to use on small screen mobile devices. It would benefit greatly from a dedicated app with a good GUI.

### "An Easy Way to Create Order in Your Life"

September 21, 2020

5.0

Well, that is splendid. I am really happy to use such a tool. It makes my life productive and produces great results. I can achieve more, I can keep moving forward day by day, step by step, without extra worries that I would skip some important things. I really like that this service is simple, clear, rational, logical and easy-to-use. I really like their billing policy. I am fond of this beautiful, almost ideal to-do-lists design. It is spectacular that there is a list of keyboard shortcuts which looks so stylish in this nerdy depicting.

Pros

It is an affordable, user-friendly, responsive, and trustworthy solution to prioritize things in your life, keep things in order and manage your time wisely. First of all, it is a cool and reasonable solution for smart task management. You can create logical, rational, clear and applicable to-do-lists, numbering, categorizing, ordering and reordering tasks in them. You can choose urgent tasks of critical importance, highlight them and add some sub-tasks in sequential order. You can add due dates, if you want. You can add some tags, notes or even files. You can archive your lists, delete or share. It is really an amazing, applicable and really appealing thing. I was fighting with numerous bullet journals, diaries and task-management tools and methods for quite a long time. I even tried gamification, some Android Apps and Chromium plugins and extensions, but usually it did not produce great results. As soon as I did my second Master's, I felt that I needed some fresh perspective for time-management. This tool is more than affordable, but precious and luxurious at the same time. One of my favorite software discoveries. Thank you!

Cons

The Logo of this brand.Uh-huh. Well, I have been using this tool only for some short period of time. I have not found any annoying, displeasing or uncomfortable options, functions or components. As for the logo: it looks great as a tab or a bookmark in Chromium browser, but looks funny as the brand name in the top left corner of the interface. Just some kind of psychological trigger. I am sorry if my attention to details looks strange.

### "Easily keep track of everything in your life!"

May 11, 2022

5.0

Keeping track of thousands of Chromebooks, users and also keeping lists of calls and tasks has been easy with Checkvist. My daily task list is in Checkvist. I can forward any email to Checkvist and go back to the actual email quickly. A really nice feature is linking within tasks/notes. I can copy a link from any list and include it in my daily task list. My original list is not changed, but I have all the information I need for my daily work.

Pros

Being keyboard centric provides a very fast interface. All the features make it one of the best tools I have ever used. As a tech director and former data analyst, I keep track of massive amounts of data. The best features of Checkvist allow for me to always have whatever information I need immediately at hand. Moving between lists is quick and easy. Search capability is very quick and allows me to find whatever I am looking for. Attachments of any kind, notes, unlimited hierarchy makes Checkvist the best and easiest tool for large amounts of data that you need to organize.

Cons

The only con that I have found is no native alert for scheduled tasks. The integration with Google calendar provides a suitable work around though.

Reason for choosing Checkvist

The ability to do almost everything with the keyboard is the best feature of Checkvist. I came from Linux and use GVim. Many of the keyboard functions work similar in both pieces of software.

### "The most convenient keyboard-centric task and outline manager"

February 8, 2023

5.0

Pros

I can't overestimate simple keyboard-centric UX. This is the killer feature. Any action can be done very fast by shortcuts. This is crucial when you want to add and edit many small details while planning and doing tasks. It feels like smooth editing of a text but in a hierarchical structure.I've tried many popular services and apps (Things, Todoist, Trello, Ticktick, ...), and almost all of them don't have such a convenient UX. They only look attractive, but any change takes more time.

Cons

It's hard to choose because the lack of bells and whistles is for good.

### "Best Task Management Software"

September 23, 2022

5.0

Love it. Have been a paid user for many years.

Pros

A task management software cannot be a judged just based on the number of features it has. Checkvist has managed to stick around with me most than any other software. It tends to grow on you.

Cons

No features in particular. But a niggle is that notes on a task could be better presented (e.g. on the right side)

### "Perfect checklist for those who care about efficiency"

July 7, 2017

5.0

It fits my need of easy-to-use but hard-to-master type of software. It's pretty awesome in how efficient you can get with Checkvist.

Pros

You can do everything with just a keyboard. There is no UI element that is preventing me from accomplishing what I want in a checklist. This software is definitely perfect for a programmer, even if you're not I would definitely check it out to see if it's fits your style.

Cons

The mobile version can use a little bit of work. It doesn't currently match the elegance of the web application. That's a difficult goal to achieve though. You can still do the basics of a checklist though.

### "Use it every day to organise my work"

July 19, 2018

5.0

Pros

Using the keyword to manage the application makes it fast to use. Having a mobile version too is handy. Good cut and paste too between lists.

Cons

The mobile version is quite simple. It's more than adequate if you just want to view your lists or mark a task as complete. Building a list/outline from scratch, however, takes time. It compliments the excellent desktop version rather than being the primary tool.

### "I've been using it for several years and couldn't manage without it."

July 21, 2017

5.0

Pros

Need to create a checklist for anything - use Checkvist. Need access to key reference information from any computer - use Checkvist. It's simple and convenient, and always available.

Cons

I only use the basic features, and have no gripes about it. 100 characters minimum is BS. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs. ### "An essential part of my daily working life"

July 7, 2017

5.0

Pros

Outlining feels like a very way to organise my thoughts and Checkvist implements it brilliantly. My favourite feature is its support for keyboard shortcuts. It just makes the tool so fast to use.

Cons

Improved support for mobile would be a plus. Viewing lists is excellent but updating or creating them is a little clunky. That said, as a work tool, I'd rarely ever want to create a list using my phone.

### "I looked for an online outline-based list/ thought organization tool a long time! Checkvist rocks!"

July 7, 2017

5.0

Easy organization of my thoughts and reminders

Pros

Fast. Keyboard shortcuts. Multilevel. Multi-list. Rapid expand, contract, move, indent, outdent. Changes reflected instantly to all devices.

Cons

Need more formatting options. Need to be able to attach images, link externally. Mobile still kind of clunky.

### "Well/cleanly designed, feature rich, intuitive and efficient UI."

July 7, 2017

5.0

Helps me organize important information, track projects, and even creative writing and DMing for RPGs.

Pros

It lets me get the ideas in my head down quickly and without frustration and organized effectively so that when I review it I can find what I need quickly and easily, even after I have collected a lot of information.

Cons

The mobile app is in development and not as feature rich, BUT the dev has consistently improved it.

July 7, 2017

5.0

Pros

The ability to easily move and nest tasks, the keyboard shortcuts and the prioritization features. They're all great.

Cons

I'd like to be able to put attachments in notes and.... as you know... the mobile app is a good start, but lacks parity with the web.

### "AWESOME!!!"

July 30, 2017

5.0

Very fast, clean, organized placement of my thoughts and information.

Pros

IT IS JUST EXCELLENT! The semi-VIM like control is easy to adapt and the best for pure keyboard users. Also, the UI isn't laggy/unresponsive at any time at all. It is always handy, even managing the biggest of the lists. The coloring is quick and awesome. Further, the UI is clean without any clutter and help always within reach for newbies. All other task managers I have used have prompted with clutter and useless graphics.

Cons

Hard to point out, but this is the only backdrop: The auto-listing feature. It doesn't have to be itemize first, and then ask user for choice.

### "Perfect if you just need basic outlines and lists"

March 5, 2025

5.0

I used to use Checkvist for all my outlining and checklists. The interface is great, and works well on mobile too. The only reason I'm using it less is because I migrated some of my lists to Obsidian, so I can have more advanced features and offline storage. Checkvist made exporting lists in markdown format extremely easy. I still use Checkvist for some simple lists that I don't need to access offline. The Chrome extension is also great for quickly saving all the tabs in a session.

Pros

This is a perfect web app for simple outlining and checklists. It's easy to use, and if you eventually need more advanced features or offline access, exporting lists is fairly simple.

Cons

The only real con is that bulk export is limited to PRO users only, but I think that's more than fair. The PRO upgrade is very affordable, and there's a generous free trial as well.

### "Outstanding Hierarchical List Software, Task Manager"

October 20, 2022

5.0

I manage all my tasks using this app, both for work and at home. I really can't live without it.

Pros

The feature set is huge, but you don't need to use many features to see the power of this flexible list manager. The developers are also very responsive.

Cons

The mobile app is not nearly as easy to use as the keyboard-centric web-based application.

### "Unbelievably powerful"

September 23, 2022

5.0

I was completely surprised by the power and simplicity of the software. By far the best task/activity manager/tracker I have ever used.

Pros

There are so many features there is nothing that it doesn't do that we need. Also, improvements are being released regularly,

Cons

Because of the number of features it is hard to learn them all. But, nce you find something you need it's fine. Better Android /IOS access would be very useful but I know this is not an aim.

Reason for choosing Checkvist

The simplicity and functionality. Later I realised that the support was first class too.

### "Swiss Army Knife for Small / Medium businesses"

September 26, 2022

5.0

Have tried lots of other systems - always come back to Scriptcase

Pros

Adaptable. Great for innovators and free thinkers

Cons

We'd like to see multiple instances per account, and the ability to be able to configure multipurpose structures. In one use case we use checkvist as an outliner and it would be useful to be able to have a purposed configurator to set - say - tasks up as features - create visual differentiation between the various use cases

Reason for choosing Checkvist

Better fit to what we do

### "The best task management tool I've ever used!"

October 7, 2022

5.0

Checkvist is fantastic! I've used it for over a decade now. I've recommended it to many people, and even done trainings on effective task management focusing specifically on checkfest as my best recommended tool.

Pros

The do tasks view helps me organize multiple concurrent projects and be able to rooflessly prioritize focusing on just the right tasks each day!

Cons

It would be great to have a native mobile application, but the web client is okay.

### "Outlining and More"

September 23, 2022

5.0

I use Checkvist for all my personal and professional tasks. I also use it when brainstorming and taking notes. The outlining capability provides flexibility for a variety of uses. I can hold and show details as needed. I can categorize any item or subitem with any label or date. Lot of good filtering options.

Pros

Outlining! Overall flexibility and power. Inexpensive. Flexibility in exporting and importing information. I can share information with non-users. Works in a browser, and also on mobile devices.

Cons

Would like more flexibility with printing. (Although it does support CSS, which I haven't used with Checkvist.) Also would like to see more power logical expressions for filtering. Large lists can be sluggish, especially on mobile.

### "Not just a task manager - a hub for all my information"

September 23, 2022

5.0

It has enabled me to keep multiple projects organized, integrating inputs from my email, web searches, messages, some shared files. I can set easily set due dates, assign collaborators, etc. It has an extremely good cross-referencing method, so tasks that connect to multiple projects can be coordinated.

Pros

It is very flexible - easy to use at first, and packed with features that become increasingly important as the size and complexity of your data increases. Excellent tools for import and export - easy to bring in links to web pages, email, files. Terrific quality and customer responsiveness: there have been only a few glitches in the years I have used it, and they have been fixed almost instantly.

Cons

The app version (for cell phones) is much less feature-rich than the full web version. It's fine for basic lists and reminders, but not for more complex reordering and management of tasks.
