Moved to ReqSuite RM from excel and it has completely changed how we are able to record and track changes for our complex requirements set. The tool gives us all the features we need for this and is even adjustable enough for us to use for other related tasks such as FMECA, HAZID, etc. Simple to use which helps as we grow into our use of the tool. Pros Easy to use, simple structure you can tailor to your needs. Great support from Osseno. Fast response to questions and issues. Onboarding process was smooth, efficient and helped us structure our product/requirements relationships. Cons Some issues with the screen resolution. March 13, 2026 4.0 Pros The versatility in all the different item types and links which can be created. It makes it easy to build up the database you need for your project. Cons Slow and clumsy interface. For example, loading a given requirement takes several seconds. If items are sorted into sub folders, there's no easy way to see all the items within a parent folder. One-window is very 1995-like feature. Requires to spend hours and hours to manage simple structure this way. Use JIRA or Confluence instead... Pros Methodology behind seems to be quite good, but the implementation is poor. Excel import/export is quite good as it allows me not to use ReqSuite. Cons Terrible user experience - opening tickets only in one window - time consuming to do anything, several seconds to open another/parent ticket, no sensible tracking of dependencies (only direct links, so the most important info like full decomposition of requirements to system function or cross-dependenciess are not available) - everything needs to opened one by one which again takes time. Discussion/comment section is so tiny... Navigation in ticket detail is confusing and very annoying - when I open the detail in 1-window system, the search list is no longer visible until closing/minimizing the detail. While this differs from multi-window systems, the approach has proven effective for many of our customers. The system responds within 1-2 seconds; delays may be due to project settings, client-side limitations or server load, we’re happy to look into it. Multi-level traceability is supported but depends on configuration. If these relationships weren’t visible, links may have been missing or setup wasn’t aligned with your needs. Many of the issues seem related to how the tool was introduced or supported rather than to limitations of reqSuite® itself. As others in your organization had positive experiences, it’s possible you didn’t have the chance to explore the full capabilities or receive guidance to your role. The support and answering questions has been very supportive overall. The tool is quite intuitive and most users are able to navigate it effectively with a basic level of training. Pros Reqsuite is a great value with alot of capability for a very value oriented price. Some tools may have slightly more capabilities but have significantly more expense. The tool is quite intuitive to use overall and provides a great level of traceability. Cons The ability to order created items in a drag/drop order is limited and can only be done via folders. This is a new feature that has been requested but is the largest challenge. It is used to create requirements specifications, reusable standard requirements and project status overviews. The use of ReqSuite also ensures that standards and guidelines to be complied with are not forgotten. In the meantime, other departments such as product management and purchasing also use ReqSuite to support the technical project managers in their work on R&D projects. Pros The features that ReqSuite offers are so impressive for us because we can map our business processes almost 100%, without changes, due to the high configurability of the software. After a short training ReqSuite is described by the employees at BORA as easy to use. In our research and development department, ReqSuite has become one of the most important software products of the company since its introduction 2 years ago. Cons The data export and the very cumbersome and partly outdated reporting in a Word document is the biggest problem for us so far. Here, the use of the SQL Report Server with freely definable parameters would be much more suitable for us. Likewise, a graphical configuration, with drag & drop, would be more contemporary. The main difficulty we faced was with configuring project templates for exports. It also involves learning a specific pseudo-code syntax that isn’t very intuitive for standard users, making template creation more technical than expected. Additionally, the notification system could be improved currently, there’s no in-app notification center to track updates or changes in one place; notifications are limited to email, which works but isn’t always convenient. The team could start using the tool right after the onboarding sessions, without the need to deep dive into documentation. Osseno learning platform is also easy to use. Dies ist nicht auf Anforderungen beschränkt, auch wenn dies der primäre Zweck ist. Der Nutzen liegt vor allem in der einheitlichen Dokumentation, die letztlich viel Arbeit im Nachhinein erspart. Pros Besonders gut gefällt mir der hohe Grad an Anpassbarkeit. Fast alles ist individuell einstellbar (Kategorien, Attribute, Beziehungen, etc.), so dass ReqSuite sehr schnell auf das jeweilige Projekt zugeschnitten werden kann. Auch der Support reagiert sehr schnell auf Feature-Requests und Bug-Reports. Cons Sehr wenig. Eine Benutzeroberfläche für kleinere Bildschirme - zumindest zum reinen Anzeigen - wäre schön. Auch die Möglichkeit, mehrere Beziehungstypen zwischen zwei Kategorien zu haben, wäre in der einen oder anderen Situation praktisch gewesen. Nach einer sehr kurzen Einarbeitung kann man sofort loslegen und erste Erfolge verbuchen. Die Kanban Ansicht ist besonders hervorzuheben. Durch diese sehen alle Stakeholder sofort, wie der Fortschritt des Projektes ist und welche Aufgaben es noch zu erledigen gilt. We have used it for requirements management, but also have created customized solutions using ReqSuite for evaluating RFP responses and even managing the project and program portfolio of an organization (as an EPMO tool). In the latter case, the tool tracks project health based on threats to each achieving its underlying business case objectives -- a very innovative approach not seen in other tools. Pros The customizable workflows, AI agent that oversees data quality, the customizable user dashboards and notifications, and the sophisticated way in which the tool maintains data relationships to allow full traceability through complex entity structures. Cons A very responsive development team is willing to accept feature suggestions and include them in the development roadmap. Es bietet genug Freiraum, Anpassungen nach den eigenen Wünschen vorzunehmen aber verlangt auch so wenig Voraussetzung, dass Einsteiger mit wenig Vorkenntnissen starten können. Pros Das Ausmaß an Flexibilität und Benutzerfreundlichkeit gefallen mir am besten. ReqSuite bietet einerseits die Möglichkeit der Komplexitätsskalierung aber andererseits die Möglichkeit der Vernetzung. Optimal geeignet für ein modernes Problem. Cons Ich begleite das Produkt seit Mai 2020 und habe einige Entwicklungsstadien miterlebt. Es gab einige Bugs oder Nachteile, diese konnten aber durch eine E-Mail mit anschließender Besprechung gelöst werden. Reason for choosing reqSuite® rm ReqSuite wurde vor meiner Zeit beschafft. Mir ist im öD auch Orca AVA bekannt, jedoch hat dies nach meinem Eindruck nach eher ein sequentielles, Wasserfall Systembeschaffungsdenken und eignet sich nicht für anpassbare Prozesse. From the top-level feature, down to the lowest level requirement and unit-test. Pros The main feature from ReqSuite that we use is traceability. This was easily setup with the help of Osseno. Thanks to the "import from Excel", it was easy to fill an initial database. Cons What I like least about this software is the documentation generation. I had some struggle before having an acceptable word-template. Working on user story templates or use case modeling is supported. Pricing and support is brilliant. Pros Webbased Application with fully integrateable in existing tool environments like Jira, Enterprise Architects, MS Office Tools. Easily adaptable for different requirememts management processes including the option for enabling a guided process workflow. Supporting modelling tools for contextual delimitation by Use Case Diagrams and use of set templates (Satzschablonen) like user stories with acceptance criteria. Bidirectional synchronous interchange with Jira, Sparx EnterpriseArchitect. Suitable separation of administration and operative user perspectives. Cons he pricing model and the marketing strategy of Osseno leads teams not to try to use this professional software. These persons will not reach a quality controlled set of requirements for their product in development or in operation in an easy and modern way of working. Unexpereinced requirements engineers are allowed to decide to switch off the automatic quality control for requirements. If they do not use this quality feature their specification quality of requirements is limited. Unexperienced user are allowed to automatically visualize their functional requirements by using the modeling interface. The resulting model does interprete the textual descriptions precise.
