I have been very happy with Givebutter! The ability to customize everything from colors, logos, links, QR codes, etc has been second to none!

Pros

I was very impressed with the ease of setting up an account and getting the system up and running without needing a third party or having to go through a sales rep. I have also loved the integration with many applications I use. I did not find myself having to duplicate services.

Cons

The biggest issue I had was importing all of our contact from our current CRM. I found a lot of the info did not transfer over to Givebutter.

I could not recommend Givebutter anymore than I do. The platform is easy to use and the customer service is top notch. We always receive quick help when needed and love that we can access our fundraisers so easily. Makes our work as a non-profit so much easier!

Pros

Love how easy the platform is to navigate for a variety of different fundraisers- from auctions to annual campaigns, to events. This platform has aided us in running many successful fundraisers while being able to keep track of donors, funds coming in and tickets sold.

Cons

So far, each improvement made has made the platform more and more useable. Only thing that maybe helpful is to have a check cut and mailed but so far we have been happy.

If Givebutter+ could come closer to LGL's monthly pricing offers we'd switch in a heartbeat.

Pros

We currently use LGL but the archaic donation forms and lack of integrations with prettier/more intuitive donation form companies made us consider a different CRM. Givebutter is truly the only product on the market offering the recurring donation upsell feature for free, along with so many different payment options at point of sale/donation (credit cards, debit cards, venmo, paypal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, DAFpay), etc. It's worth noting that it also natively integrates with Double the Donation, Donor Search, and Point--and more!

Cons

We think GiveButter+ is cost(given that it's mainly nonprofits with small budgets that leverage this company) so -1 star for that. A work around is using Monday.com's donor dashboard template as a replacement CRM.... however, despite the native integration, GB transactions are not automatically importing to Monday.com so another -1 star for that.

### "Givebutter is the best!"

It's been incredible - wish we would have switched sooner! We are a small but mighty non-profit and Givebutter truly adds to our capacity by integrating so well with our other existing systems - saves us countless hours. I've worked with a lot of different software/fundraising systems/CRMs over the last 20 years at nonprofits and most of them do about 75% of what Givebutter does. Never seem to be able to get the best features from one system and end up settling for a system that offers 'most' key features with some downsides after taking a lot of time to compare their features & pricing. With Givebutter I don't feel like I'm settling because they offer 100%+ the features I'm looking for in one system for a great value.

Pros

Everything! It's the best! Cannot beat the value and their customer success and support team members are quick to respond, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful - whether using the Live Chat, email or by phone call - they are easy to connect with at any time and get a response. The free templates are excellent time savers and cover a wide range of topics - everything we need and more! It was extremely easy to switch over to the Givebutter platform and we had everything setup to launch a new campaign and begin collecting donations within an hour! Everything runs seamlessly now and managing donor payouts, transactions, ticket sales, etc is very streamlined within the Givebutter dashboard - very user friendly for our team (even our 'not tech savvy' team members are using it with ease).

Cons

Nothing! Setting up the campaigns to deliver from our domain email address vs a Givebutter domain email address was new to us and we got a little turned around in the process - but this was 100% user error and our Givebutter Success Manager hopped on a call and screen shared/walked us through the process and then verified it was setup correctly before exiting the call.

From the start - even when were were just exploring options - the customer journey has been helpful, responsive and proactive. I feel like each person working with me actually KNOWS me and wants to help with anything I need - even if it's not something they currently offer. This alone is worth our subscription! (We have Givebutter+)

Pros

The Customer Service and Support is AMAZING!! Also, I love that the team is receptive to feedback and are working to match up their roadmap for the future with the needs of their customers.

Cons

We are just learning the system - and so there are times that we can't find the features that we "know" are there. As we learn this system, I know that will get better.

Pros

It's free! Givebutter is amazing because it's free, it makes us money, it's easy to use and the help tutorials are great!

Cons

The process of recapturing my organization, as I was a knew \[sensitive content hidden\] not on the account. But it honestly wasn't hard. I just didn't like it.

I like that it gives little hints on how to better use the system. It's super smart and thinks of things for us.

When we signed up, I was a little sad that texting function was no longer available on the free version.

This is the ideal platform for fundraising, especially to build pages/QR codes to promote events. One QR code can be used to take donations from any money transfer app, which is great!

Pros

it appears to be secure, and the platform is simple, straightforward, and able to do all the functions we are looking for as a non-profit... even on the free version!

Cons

If anything, I suppose the support for the platform has a lot of reliance on AI. I have not had a need to get in touch with a human csa, but if I did, it would be a new experience.

Love GiveButter, especially the peer fundraising and social media comments. So beneficial for a grassroots org like ours.

Pros

Setting up our events was a very seamless process, with a great interface. And excellent customer service. We were getting onboarding emails before I could even start setting up the event page. So helpful!

Cons

I do wish we could have setup multi-day events, instead of having to setup each day as 3 different campaigns. Also, given our fundraising event is ticket based? I think having to add names of everyone in the party was too much for some (potential) attendees.

I’ve tried other donation platforms and they were very expensive and not as responsive as Givebutter. Givebutter responds very quickly and had a great value.

Pros

The value for your money is the best in the industry. I’ve recommended Givebutter to other people that are getting started in the non profit industry.

Cons

Not being eligible for certain benefits as a fiscally sponsored organization. I wish some of these decisions would be reconsidered.

How easy it is to use. The ability to share data with the Board at monthly meetings through the reports generated from the site.

Cons

Data entry when trying to add churches. I have to break their name into "First" and "Last" names. Also wish I could add a husband's first name and woman's first name.

### "Givebutter is the way to go!"

10/10 for experience! The personalized customer experience with Givebutter is unmatched. We felt so supported during our onboarding and first campaign with Givebutter, and we were also so impressed with the Knowledge Base that Givebutter has built. While the system itself is so easy to use, our organization had a few really specific wants/questions - if we couldn't find an answer right in the platform and in the features, the answer was almost ALWAYS in the knowledge base (which again, we were very impressed by - our needs were so particular!). In the off chance that we couldn't find the answer on our own, the Givebutter team was just a quick email away. The user end experience was also fantastic for our donors. Giving was made very clear and simple, and donors could get all of their campaign related questions answered right there on our campaign page. I'd also like to highly praise the product roadmap that Givebutter has made available to customers. This was one of our main "selling" points when it came to switching giving platforms. Givebutter gives their customers a \[significant\] voice when it comes to product development and features, and they give customers direct visibility into their plans and roadmap. Gone are the days of the "thanks for your feedback, we'll let our product team know" black holes! Major props to Givebutter for creating not only a great product, but also a great experience.

Pros

I love how straightforward and easy to use the platform is! Nothing is particularly difficult to find/figure out, and while you can customize just about anything, there isn't SO much detail that it becomes overwhelming. It's both incredibly simple AND customizable, which is a feat to accomplish! Well done, Givebutter.

Cons

I would've liked more options for formatting our campaign pages (inability to center text & place two graphics side-by-side wasn't ideal), and more options for designing Peer to Peer pages.

### "Perfect Tech for a Mid-Sized, School Organization"

We are incredibly happy we made the switch to Givebutter, and we have recommended it to other organizations.

Pros

Givebutter is easy to use and the perfect amount of technology for our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). We are all volunteer run, but we still raise quite a lot via many different methods (peer to peer, giving page, auction). Givebutter's technology meets those needs, and it is easy to use as an administrator as well as a donor. The business model also is amazing for our organization.

Givebutter was simple on the backend and allowed us to have as painless of an experience fundraising as possible. I liked the ease of being able to just input our tax information and we are ready to go, presto! It was cool to see all the comments coming in as we raised money.

Pros

We chose givebutter for several reasons but one of my favorite things is that we could see how much each team member was achieving with donations. Since we were two relay teams, the competition was fierce and givebutter helped us stay motivated and interested in fundraising!

Cons

Who likes fees? I also wish it were easier to integrate with other social media, like Instagram and Facebook. We just used a link but if there was a button or something that made it "intuitive" to share, that would be great! Without that kind of integration, it makes it hard for the campaign to spread like wildfire.

Since day one, it’s been an easy transition from other over-engineered and complex platforms.

Pros

Simple and logical user interface, creative and enthusiastic support and development teams, and a very transparent roadmap of community-driven enhancements.

Cons

Complaints are rare! If anything I’d have to say that they don’t release enhancements regularly enough (though I’ve only been using the platform for 4 months). And sometimes testing different campaign scenarios can be challenging because there isn’t a “sandbox” environment that mimics donations, credit card transactions and auctions.

Wonderful. Despite the small bumps and lack of total functionality, I really appreciate the opportunity it gives to small organizations with extremely limited budgets.

Pros

I like that there isn't an annual fee, allowing our small nonprofit the ability to grow.

Cons

Givebutter is a bit clunky when it comes to its functionality. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful service for small organizations like ours, but there are some elements that don't always work smoothly. Additionally, there are some features I would love to have that GB doesn't offer, like grant management and a true ticketing platform with reserved seating and bulk ticket purchasing discounts. It that vein, it would be great if there was some thought put into how the platform works for performing arts organizations.

Our overall experience was outstanding. Givebutter helped us streamline our fundraising process and visualize our impact in real-time. Pros

The event display options were our favorite feature. The platform made it easy to engage our audience and donors in a visually compelling way, which helped generate real excitement around our goals. It truly centralized our systems and made fundraising more effective and less time-consuming.

Cons

While the overall platform was fantastic, our biggest challenge was directing traffic clearly to team members so they could be credited for their efforts. It wasn’t always intuitive for donors to select a team member when giving. We experimented with rewording and even changed the donate button text to “Send Money Here,” but clearer options or customizable settings would have helped. A setting that requires donors to choose a team or individual before proceeding—and perhaps even leave a mandatory note—would make it easier to track individual efforts and ensure fair credit.

### "Givebutter (Free version)"

Givebutter has been great as a free option, good to enough to the point where we were able to replace a paid version of another software with it. It lacks a lot of fine-tuning options for exports and can be slow on some fronts, but it works great for managing donations as a primary tool. The built-in duplicate management tools are not very effective, requiring a lot of manual merging. Still, it is rare to find anything as effective and easy to pick up as this in the realm of free SaaS products, and I imagine the paid version with reporting makes spotting duplicates easier within the service.

Pros

For a free product, this is an effective payments handler and an impressive database software for small nonprofits. The included import wizard makes managing data over time easy enough for one database admin, and the email integration with Canva is great for nonprofit staff in general.

Cons

Duplicate management is not good at spotting the same contributor between donations, as it does not check secondary data for possible duplicates. Segments (at least in the free version) has some issues with exports. For example, organizing data there with the intention of then downloading a csv still leads to a full list of contacts or transactions rather than a pared-down export. The UI can also be a bit odd, with buttons hard to locate, and the tax summaries take quite a while to generate even for a relatively small number.

I have never had a problem or issue with transferring the funds to my bank account. I have to find the time to watch the tutorials to get the most out of what Given has to offer.

Pros

It is fairly easy to manage for someone like me who knows very little about navigating websites, CRMs, donation platforms, etc.

Cons

I cannot figure out how to make my donation page without a donation/monetary goal. I also want to learn how to send emails to former diners to donate again.

Great! As said before it was an easy set up and I love that you can make the donation page simple or elaborate.

Pros

The set up was extremely easy. I had the opportunity to make the site extremely elaborate if I wanted, but I was in a pinch and needed to put the page up quickly and was able to do that with a clean simple page.

Cons

I have been told by people who want to donate that it is a little lengthy to get a donation in. Some said that they wanted to just simply click a button to donate from a card on their phone, but unfortunately that couldn't happen. I haven't followed up on it though so I don't know how complicated it actually is on their end

### "Great platform- events and campaigns almost there"

Very good, there are a few small Hiccups but overall a smooth and simple platform.

Pros

I like the ease of donations and the ability to ask the donor to cover the fees.

Cons

I think that the campaign and event set up could be simplified. Many organizations collect general donations perpetually. They also host periodic events that may or may not require a ticketed entry. It’s hard for family members to know whether to donate to an individual donor link VS an event that they won’t attend.
